Dr. Cat Meyer is an exprienced and esteemed ketamine/sex therapist. Not that there's many but even when there are, and there will be, she will still stand out! Her playful and wise ways really come out in this conversation. We don't only explore the impact of ketamine on sexual health but psilocbyin and even LSD. We also explore the religious or mystical experience as it relates to both of course and again here she has much light to share. It was a wonderful conversation and I bet her retreats are out of this world, like literally. You can find much of her information below. About Eric Osborne: Eric Osborne has a twenty-three-year history as a specialist with psychoactive and gourmet mushrooms. His first venture, Magnificent Mushrooms distributed gourmet mushrooms throughout Indiana and Kentucky. During that time he worked underground as a psilocybin facilitator until he and his wife were arrested and charged with three class B felonies. After overcoming this challenge, Eric and his wife Courtney founded MycoMeditations in 2013, the first Jamaica-based psilocybin retreat. While in Jamaica, Eric administered over 3000 doses of psilocybin to more than 1000 clients. He also founded two psilocybin mushroom farms in Jamaica, Magnificent Mushrooms and Psacred Therapeutics. In 2021 Eric left Jamaica to return to the US to cofound Psanctuary; The Sacred Mushroom church with his wife Courtney and former Myco employee Athena. Eric and his wife also host the Psilocybin Says podcast which covers all aspects of wellness through the lens of psilocybin. In this episode, Kim Andryc, Lora Solomon, and Eric Osborne discuss: Coming to understand the mystical. Becoming more aware as we awaken. The benefits of psilocybin and psychedelics. Experiencing the highs and the lows of life. Key takeaways: It takes courage to take what you learn from a mystical experience and bring it into everyday life. When you experience the reality of our connection, it transforms you. Psychedelics is a powerful tool, but it still requires humans to transform humanity. The only sin is the illusion of separation from the source and one another. "Become able to embrace the perceived cleanliness as much as the perceived filth and see them as equal. Courtney McClure spent her childhood and adolescence as a dedicated athlete in the sport of figure skating. In university, she studied public health education and became employed as manager at a health food store after graduating. She often heard customers talking about the incredible health benefits they were experiencing from different mushrooms and supplements sold at the store. Around that time, Courtney began using cannabis and found that it help her let go of control and work through an eating disorder she developed during her time as a figure skater. At one point, Courtney agreed to buy some "funky stuff" as her cannabis dealer described it, only to find that he was referring to fungi, not funky stuff. This eventually led to her first psilocybin experience with her roommate and another girl. That experience was great until one of the other girls got stuck in a loop. Courtney describes another psilocybin experience that didn't go so well, where she urinated on the floor and furniture at her then-boyfriend and now husband's house. The next day he was upset and she was embarrassed. Lastly, Courtney describes a women's psilocybin session she participated in where she was transported to a different era of time with people that felt familiar to her. It was in this realm that she had a very traumatic experience that taught her valuable lessons.Courtney and her husband Eric founded a psilocybin church called Psanctuary and co-host a podcast called Psilocybin Says. I highly recommend checking out both and links to each have been included in the show notes. Courtney and Eric were kind enough to recently invite me on their podcast to share some of my own experiences with psychedelics. Once upon a time, a mushroom farmer from Kentucky moved to Jamaica to open a psilocybin retreat. And then the mushrooms called him back home.Eric Osborne and his wife Courtney, are now co-founders of Psanctuary. A local (to Louisville) and LEGAL sacred mushroom church. A safe space for anyone curious about psilocybin. They host Sunday Services via Zoom where anyone is welcome to join and listen to inspirational teachings, and invited to stay for integration and reflection of psilocybin experiences. They also host retreats for members! In this episode we discuss why community and connections is such an important part of integrating a psychedelic experience. These experiences connect us to our authentic selves, and in turn we are able to connect authentically with the people around us. But as we always say, people can only meet you where you are. Connections we thought were real, may become distant. Having a safe space, and a safe community to talk to is where true healing can be done.Check out more information about Psanctuary: https://www.psanctuary.org/Listen to Eric and Courtney's podcast Psilocybin Says: https://www.psilocybinsays.com/https://www.mushroomstone.com/breakingthemushroomcode.htmFollow us on insta! https://instagram.com/seeyouontheothersidepodcast?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=Support the show
Eric Osborne has over 20 years of experience with psychedelics. In 2013, he started a psilocybin retreat center in Jamaica called MycoMeditations and hosted a podcast called Psilocybin Chronicles where he interviewed guests about their experiences with psilocybin. More recently, Eric and his wife Courtney moved back to the United States and founded Psanctuary, a non-denominational faith-based community that centers around the sacrament of sacred psilocybin-containing mushrooms for personal, communal, and global healing. They also co-host their podcast, Psilocybin Says, where they discuss the use of psilocybin for self-development. In this episode, Eric shares some fascinating personal experiences that don't fit into a strictly materialistic worldview. He's interacted with interdimensional entities and deceased loved ones and made clairvoyant psychic connections with other people in group psilocybin settings. The purpose of the podcast is for entertainment and harm reduction. In this episode Brian and Nate interview Eric Osborne. Eric is a Kentucky native and cofounder of Psanctuary, a 508(c)(1)(A) faith-based organization, which is a constitutionally protected church utilizing psilocybin containing mushrooms as a sacrament. Additionally, he is the founder of Mycomeditations, a group based psychedelic retreat center in Jamaica. Eric has a unique and very interesting perspective, as one with a front row seat for the developing "psychedelic renaissance" while also remaining outside the dominant therapeutic/medical/research institutions. In this conversation we cover a range of topics, from the importance of group work, popular misunderstandings regarding the therapeutic benefits of psychedelics, religious contexts and much more. My search for alternative trauma treatments from my own childhood sexual abuse led me to so many modalities: EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Brainspotting, Neurofeedback, and so much more. But nothing intrigued me as much as psychedelic-assisted therapy, which includes MDMA, LSD and psilocybin mushrooms, and ketamine among others. In this episode of A Trauma Survivor Thriver's Podcast, Eric Osborne discusses the benefits of Psilocybin. Osborne is the Founder of PLEDG, Inc. a US-based nonprofit dedicated to providing legal psilocybin assisted therapy to those in need and co-founder of the Psanctuary Sacred Mushroom Church.
*The following podcast contains adult themes and languages Eric Osborne is the former founder of Magnificent Mushrooms and MycoMeditations and current founder & president of PLEDG. He began his professional career as an English teacher but his love for fungi developed and strengthened over time. In 2012, he began diving further into the research behind psychedelic therapy and psilocybin in particular. Soon thereafter he founded MycoMeditations, a legal psilocybin mushroom retreat in Jamaica dedicated to providing therapy to those in need. Despite overwhelming numbers of successful sessions conducted and countless positive experiences facilitated, they ran into legal challenges over the years. In this episode, the team discusses magic mushrooms with the help of Founder/President of MycoMeditations LTD, Eric Osborne.
I talk with Eric Osborne, founder of Mycomeditations. We talk about his journey starting as a young boy, having an ultimate love and connection with nature, reptiles, and being his most authentic self. Eric shares with us how he not only had a fascination with mushrooms and nature, but human conciseness and healing others as well, when he realized the healing properties of of psilocybin through his own personal experiences. This was a great, raw conversation! Eric made his first annual pilgrimage to Jamaica in 2003 and worked with his first MycoMeditations group there in 2013. As the first Indiana State Certified Wild Mushroom Expert, a gourmet mushroom cultivator and founder of the non-profit organization PLEDG, (Psychedelic Liberation Education Discipline and Guidance) Eric has committed his life to learning and teaching the benefits of medicinal fungi. Twenty years of work cultivating, consuming, and administering psilocybin has taught Eric many invaluable lessons. With a sincere and lighthearted approach, he maintains a safe and structured setting for the psilocybin voyager. This journey has not been an easy one. In 2013 Eric was arrested for hosting psilocybin sessions on his farm. While creating significant challenges, it was the motivation needed to take his work public. Witnessing the healing effects of psilocybin so many times fueled Eric's drive to ensure safe, legal access to psilocybin. In 2016, while serving a two year probation sentence Eric invested all of his efforts into building MycoMeditations and PLEDG. The work has continued to grow ever since and the healing has touched hundreds of individuals.
Trusting the process with Eric Osborne www.mycomeditations.com This show is learning how to trust the process as we go through this virus hitting us from all sides; body, mind and soul. And how we can open up to the the teaching of a power greater than ourselves: the earth, the collective unconscious, each other and our true selves. My guest Eric, is someone who has been working with this concept for many years and has helped hundreds of people to connect to the greater good within.
This is a special episode. I was approached by a company called MycoMeditations that wanted to sponsor the podcast. They actually were very persistent and approached me a few times about it because they were really interested in the opportunity to speak with you all. MycoMeditations is a company that hosts retreats in Jamaica that use the psilocybin mushroom, also known as the magic mushroom. It's an often misunderstood substance that research has shown to be an effective way to reduce the impact of treatment resistant mental illness such as depression and anxiety. Since this is a topic that is somewhat sensitive (psilocybin is not legal in the US), I wanted to do things a little differently. Rather than just running a short ad, I wanted to have the opportunity to dive deep and fully explore the issue. So this is a sponsored episode. MycoMeditations did pay for this interview spot, but I am approaching it just like all of the other interviews that I do on the show so that you can be appropriately informed and make your own decisions. My guest for this episode is Eric Osborne, who is the founder and head facilitator of MycoMeditations. He has a very interesting background in that he is a wild mushroom expert and mycologist. This enables him to approach things from a very unique angle, which you will hear in the episode. Rather than administering the mushroom in it's raw form, he uses a process to make measured capsules of it to have better control of the dosage. I really hope that you enjoy this episode. It was very interesting for me. Please have a look at the full show notes at duffthepsych.com/episode171 and reach out to Eric if you have any questions after listening! Check out MycoMeditations at their website to learn more!
Today we talk with Eric Osborne. Eric holds a Master's Degree in Education, is the first Indiana State Certified Wild Mushroom Expert, and is the founder of PLEDG, (Psychedelic Liberation Education Discipline and Guidance), a U.S. based non-profit for psychedelic research and education. And also the founder of MYCOMEDITATIONS a 100% legal psilocybin mushroom retreat center in Jamaica!
Eric Osborne is the creator of MycoMeditations, a Psilocybin Mushroom retreat center in Jamaica. We have a fascinating conversation about the psychedelic mushroom experience and how psychedelics have often been the foundation for early religious belief systems. As we enter what Eric calls a "Psychedelic Renaissance" conversations like this one become increasingly more important to have. If you enjoyed this episode and would like more information on MycoMeditations mushroom retreats you can visit www.mycomeditations.com
Tune in and hear Eric Osborne's movie-like story from his underground psylocibin retreats in Indiana which lead him to own and run a Mushroom Retreat Center in Jamaica. His passion for fungi and willingness to surrender to his inner calling allowed him to create this sacred retreat center where people from all over the world visit to heal, & remember. Eric Osborne created mycomeditations a psilocybin retreat center in Jamaica. In 2015, as a result of hosting private psilocybin sessions on his farm, he was arrested. This event turned Eric’s life upside down. Following this, he was forced into house arrest and two years of probation. It was however, during this struggle, that the grand vision for MycoMeditations was born. Eric wanted to ensure that people could have legal access to psilocybin, in a place where they could feel safe and not worry about legal repercussions. He had witnessed the healing effects of psilocybin too many times to give up. Regardless of the legal status of psilocybin in the United States and most other parts of the world, Eric knew this was his calling. Having spent many of his younger adult years in Jamaica, one of the few countries where psilocybin remains legal, he knew he’d found the perfect location for the center.
There is lots of great research on the use of Psilocybin for PTSD and depression. We saw many presentations at the conference. The FDA has opened the doors to study it. There are studies already completed — with great results too! ✨

The focus of Irenaeus’ views on humanity is always on God. Eric Osborne in “Irenaeus of Lyons” states, “It matters to man to know that he is a copy of the incarnate Christ, that God’s first loving concern after the fall was to put Adam into more comfortable clothes, that life is a sign of God’s gift and that the weakness of flesh is the correlate of God’s strengthening grace and goodness.” Consider what Irenaeus has to say about God and the church in “Against heresies”(3.16.6). Consider that creation is part of Jesus’ redemption. Irenaeus’ view of the church was tied with recapitulation. Jesus Christ is the Head of the church and is linked with creation and us. The teachings are always consistent and apostolic and that is what separates the truth from the heretical teachings. Consider St. Peters’ in Rome. Irenaeus wanted to deliver a stable expression of Christian theology that he saw coming out of the Roman church. The church is the place where matters of proper interpretation are settled. Irenaeus’ theology was coherent and exhaustive. He directly related God to creation, humanity, and the church. There is a purpose for everything and a purpose for us too. Consider the immensity of God’s love.
