¡Prepárate para una inmersión profunda en el mundo de los impuestos para vendedores de Amazon! En este episodio exclusivo de Modo FBA el Podcast, entrevistamos a la talentosa Everlyn Moran, contadora, y asesora en impuestos y planificación fiscal con más de 15 años de experiencia.

Constituir una empresa en los Estados Unidos siendo extranjero implica algunos pasos adicionales debido a las leyes y regulaciones de inmigración y empresariales. Aquí te proporcionaremos una guía que incluye la parte contable, de la mano de Everlyn Morán, que es CEO de Moran Professional Services, una empresa que ofrece servicios financieros, constitución de corporaciones, servicios de contabilidad e impuestos, seguros de salud y de vida. Lo primero y primordial que nos aconseja nuestra invitada es contar con un especialista que nos asesore para ver cuál es la mejor opción para nosotros, como emprendedores. “Luego debemos tener el pasaporte vigente y un agente registrado, que es donde va a llegar toda la documentación de esa entidad o empresa que estamos abriendo en Estados Unidos. Por lo que necesitamos una dirección”, enseña. A ello le sigue tener el nombre de nuestra empresa para registrarla. “Luego se hacen los artículos de la organización si es una LLC o los artículos de incorporación si es una corporación. El registro de nuestra empresa debe estar en el Estado que elijamos”, aclara nuestra especialista, y agrega: “Lo siguiente es aplicar por el tax ID o EIN ante el IRS. Luego pueden abrir la cuenta bancaria. Si esa LLC o corporación va a necesitar algún tipo de permiso con el Estado deben aplicar a esos permisos como tal”. “Como opinión personal, a mí me gusta más que un extranjero tome la LLC multi-member, es decir, de varios miembros. Muchas personas optan por las LLC sole-member, porque es la más económica de crear, pero esto implica muchas situaciones al momento de declarar impuestos. Debemos reportar una forma que se llama la 5472. Si no es declarada, esto va a traer una multa de 25.000 dólares”, advierte Everlyn. Toda empresa está atada a los impuestos. “Si es una LLC multi-member tenemos que pagar el 15.3 por ciento de impuestos generales, más el 30 por ciento por ser extranjero”, afirma nuestra invitada. “Hay dos países en Latinoamérica que tienen tratados fiscales, que son México y Venezuela, y se está conversando para que se sume Chile. Con esto, el extranjero tiene que pagar el 30 por ciento, pero nos estamos evitando la doble imposición de impuestos generales”, destaca nuestra especialista. El costo para abrir una compañía va a depender de cada Estado porque manejan aranceles diferentes. En el caso de los vendedores en línea, casi siempre deben pagar la licencia de ventas. “En el caso que estemos vendiendo en varios Estados, existe el impuesto múltiple”, señala Everlyn, y añade: “En Estados Unidos, si ya eres residente o ciudadano, tienes que declarar los ingresos mundiales, que son los generados dentro de los Estados Unidos o los generados afuera”. Como última recomendación por parte de nuestra invitada, vuelve a remarcar la búsqueda de un experto que nos explique cuáles son las diferentes entidades que nos benefician de acuerdo a nuestra nacionalidad y “trabajar desde el día 1 con él para que con la declaración de impuestos tengamos un ahorro de manera legal”. This week we speak with 'doctorpreneur' Dr Evelyn Chan.  Dr Chan is a peadiatric doctor turned CEO and co-founder of Virtual Reality start up Smileyscope.Evelyn studied medicine and surgery at Monash University in Australia before becoming a Rhodes Scholar at the University of Oxford where she studied medical anthropology and public health. She then worked at the Boston Consulting Group, specialising in public sector and healthcare strategy.  As the CEO and co-founder of Smileyscope Evelyn is now working to change the experiences of children in clinical settings.  Smileyscope grew out of Everlyn's own clinical experience and aims to transform paediatric needle procedures through patient-centred Virtual Reality. As we will hear some of the advantages that Evelyn has found in her work is that VR is able to decrease patient pain and anxiety and makes it quicker and safer for clinicians to perform procedures.  Evelyn gives us a great insight into the process that she went through in getting her company to where it is today and in doing so conducted the largest clinical study on VR in a paediatric setting anywhere in the world.  She shares some great insights into lessons learned and we really hope you enjoy this conversation as much as we did.Follow Smileyscope on Twitter here. In their lectures delivered at the 2015 Fuller Forum, Walter Brueggemann, renowned author and Old Testament scholar, presented the idea of two kinds of justices—predatory justice from above and transformative justice from below—and contended that the Bible depicts a contestation between both; and Brad Strawn, Everlyn and Frank Freed Professor of the Integration of Psychology, spoke to how the acts of confession and truth-telling bring healing not only to individuals but to the world. The 2015 Fuller Forum explored the themes of justice, grace, and law and how each shapes our understanding of the church’s relationship with God and the church’s ministry in the world. Joined by Fuller scholars and other guests, renowned Old Testament scholar Walter Brueggemann, featured as the conference’s keynote speaker. Author of over a hundred books, he is the William Marcellus McPheeters Professor Emeritus of Old Testament at Columbia Theological Seminary.
