Die Baseball-Bundesliga, die Spieler, die Offiziellen und die Fans wurden am Wochenende Zeuge von einer Sternstunde im Baseball. Die Bonn Capitals und die Regensburg Legionäre kämpften Samstag und Sonntag insgesamt ca. 11 Stunden und 33 Innings, um den zweiten Finalteilnehmer in den Playoffs zu ermitteln. Das Doofe: Es gibt noch keinen Sieger. Der Sieger hieß in diesem Fall "Bundesliga-Baseball", denn was die Zuschauer im Stadion Rheinaue zu sehen bekamen, hat man in dieser Form ganz selten gesehen. Tobias Dietrich, der Macher und Kommentator von Legionäre TV, war vor Ort und berichtet über diesen epischen Kampf im Interview mit Andreas Thies. In Spiel 3 ging alles noch seinen normalen Weg, doch auch hier gab es schon sehr viel Dramatik. Die Sieger der ersten beiden Spiele, Mike Bolsenbroek (Regensburg) und Markus Solbach trafen aufeinander. Während Solbach in Spiel 2 noch nicht viel zuließ, aber auch nicht immer zu 100% souverän aussah, entschlüsselten ihn die Batter der Legionäre in Spiel 3 und konnten den Capitals somit die zweite Saisonniederlage zufügen. Sternstunde Spiel 4 Die Capitals standen damit mit dem Rücken zur Wand. Sie brachten in Spiel 4 den bis dato in der Playoff-Serie selten genutzten Riley Barr auf den Mound. Der machte seine Sache gut, kassierte nur zwei Runs und sorgte dafür, dass die Ex-Hauptstädter im Spiel blieben. Die konnten ihrerseits mit zwei Runs spät im Spiel für den Ausgleich sorgen. Es ging in Extra Innings. Was dort passierte, werden alle, die es gesehen haben, nicht so schnell vergessen. Maurice Wilhelm pitchte für Bonn insgesamt 9 Innings und ließ keinen Baserunner zu. Ein Perfect Game für den Bonner. Die Legionäre hielten dagegen. Es wurde zwischendurch mal knapp, aber Daniel Mendelssohn und Jonathan Eisenhuth hielten auch die 0. Im 19. Inning wurde das Spiel zugunsten der Capitals entschieden. Andreas und Tobias sprechen über das Mammutspiel, wie man es hätte verkürzen können und ob es sinnvoll war, Spiel 5 noch zu starten.
