Beat Bucky is back! We pair Bucky's favorite game with Bucky's favorite holiday for a Draftmas influenced edition of Beat Bucky! :30- Is it extension season? It seems to be the thing baseball is moving toward and something John Stanton has talked about as well- paying their young guys to stay home. - The Mariners aren't the only team with that philosophy, the Padres extended Jackson Merrill and the Red Sox extended Garrett Crochet. - Is Logan Gilbert next on the list for the Mariners and how will they proceed with their young pitching stars? :45- We wrap up this Thursday show with one last thing!

The Mariners nightmare is coming true- they managed just 1 hit against the Tigers last night and it's apparent that the Tigers own the team, not John Stanton. Yes, it's early and yes, we know people are sick of hearing that, but still… this is just the worst-case scenario for the start of the season after this team did nothing in the offseason and decided to run it back with the same group expecting different results. :30- Mariners Morning After… - Victor Robles managed the team's only hit and today isn't looking like the day for the Mariners to get back on track as they face Tarik Skubal :45- Stocking Stuffers- it doesn't sound like it's that kind of draft year where a lot of teams are going to want to move up to 18 - The Philadelphia Eagles might be looking to move up in the draft, but quite a few things would need to fall into place to make a trade work with the Hawks at 18

Today's Daily Puck Drop with Jason “Puck” Puckett featured his Wednesday's guests, Jim Moore, Rob Staton from SeahawksDraftblog.comand Ryan Divish from the Seattle Times. Jim dialed into the show from a Starbucks parking lot. Puck couldn't help but give him shit about going to a Starbucks and then claiming he's still a Sonics fan!  They discuss the state of the today's NBA and Jim expresses why he doesn't like it as much anymore. Puck explains why he likes the NBA, but also acknowledging their issues. Puck and Jim touch in on the Seahawks' recent trade, Tom Brady's broadcasting challenges, and the legacy of Bronny  James and LeBron. Rob Staton of SeahawksDraftBlog.comjoins the show after Jim leaves and they dive into the recent trade for Ernest Jones from the Titans. Rob and Puck go back and forth on the deal and the pros and cons of it. Rob is worried that it may prevent Seattle from further addressing their needs along the offensive line. Puck likes the trade because it fixes a major issue with their linebacking core. Good news for the Seahawks as Abe Lucas and George Fant will return to practice this week. We don't know the timeline for the return of Lucas but it's good news that he's back.  Rob wonders if Lucas could possibly move inside and play guard when healthy if they keep Fant on the outside or can Fant or Mike Jerrell play inside?  They both agree that they need the five best OL on the line at once. Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times stops by for his weekly Mariners offseason visit and this week they discuss the season of Julio Rodriguez.   Divish is currently subbing for an agriculture class in his hometown of Havre, Montana!  The discussion highlights the pressures that Julio faces , the impact of team dynamics on performance, and what Julio must do to improve as a player. Does Julio suffer from putting too much pressure on himself? Will he continue to work with Edgar Martinez in the offseason and what is his best position in the batting order?Lastly, “Hey, What the Puck?!” Puck recaps his conversation with WSU kicker Dean Janikowski on the latest “Cougs Corner”.  Dean talks about his struggles on the field. Struggles with dealing with social media. His love for his late mother. On today's Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett is joined by Jim Moore for the first thirty minutes where Jim rails against Jedd Fisch and him wearing a visor.  Puck and Jim also make another bet. In fact, they made two of them.  Puck is taking UW +2.5 at Iowa and the 49ers -3.5 against the Seahawks.  Both bets for $100.  Jim has been on a heater and Puck desperately needs a win.  Rob Staton, SeahawksDraftBlog.com, checks in for his weekly visit to talk all things Seahawks. The frustration with the defense.  The injury to Uchenna Nwosu and the lackluster performance from the team against the Giants. Why did the Seahawks come out so flat against New York and Rob explains why that is such a huge problem. Ryan Grubb didn't have his best game, obviously, but it's no time to panic for the offense. Both Puck and Rob feel like the offense will get it going and it will start on Thursday against the 49ers.  Speaking of the 49ers, this Thursday's game is most likely a must win for both.  Both teams are winless in the conference.  Whoever loses is not out of the playoff race, but it will be a major uphill climb.  Could help be on the way for the Seahawks defense?  Rob wants to kick the tires on former Seahawks player, Jadeveon Clowney.  You agree? We check in with Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times for his weekly offseason look at the Mariners and other off the wall topics that Puck and Divish can come up with.  Best tacos. Best bourbon. Struggling golf games and modern complaints of 40 year olds.  Divish gives his reaction to the John Stanton interview on Mariners.com.  What didn't he answer?  Is there anything that Stanton could have said that would have appeased the Mariners fan base?  Puck and Divish lament how much damage the Mariners could have made in the playoffs because of the lack of really good starting pitching in the postseason. The Dodgers and Tigers (minus Skubal) have issues in their rotation.  The Mariners team was built for the postseason, however, they are not built for the regular season. Lastly, “Hey, What the Puck!?”  Puck address blowback from his criticism of Daniel Kramer's piece on Mariners.com.  Puck offers an apology. Rundown 00:00 Jim joins the show for the first 30 minutes and makes fun of Jedd Fisch's visor and hopes he bails for Florida.  Puck and Jim make another pair of bets and Puck is going with Iowa and San Francisco.  Jim calls Puck a bad fan. 34:10 Rob Staton, SeahawksDraftBlog.com, joins to talk about the Seahawks defense woes. Players lackluster performance. Ryan Grubb play calling. A piece the Seahawks could add on defense 01:15:59 Ryan Divish, Seattle Times talks about the Mariners offseason in his weekly visit.  What are his thoughts on John Stanton's interview with Mariners.com?  How could the Mariners waste their starting pitching, especially when they are built for the postseason.  The MLB playoffs have been sensational. Who do we want to see in the World Series? Divish talks about his Montana Grizzlies. His love for bourbon and his terrible golf game. 01:45:  “Hey, What the Puck!?”   Puck address blowback from his criticism of Daniel Kramer's piece on Mariners.com.  Puck offers an apology.

On today's Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett and Jim Moore start off Friday's show chatting with TroyWins.com about this week's upcoming college football and NFL games. After Troy departs giving his picks, Puck and Jim discuss the interview that Mariners owner John Stanton gave to Daniel Kramer of MLB.com.  Puck and Jim called the interview unacceptable because Stanton is only making himself available on a team controlled site.  Stanton didn't really answer anything of note and Puck and Jim can't understand why the team doesn't truly get the frustration of their fans. They spend nearly an hour breaking down the interview and just keep shaking their head why they and so many people still love the team, because this group makes it real hard. They wrap it up with Friday VOICEMAILS, and they introduce a new character…Hugh Millen! Chris Egan, KING 5, joins the show for his weekly visit and they start off with the great Billy Joe Hobert and the fact that he will be at the Husky game on Saturday against Michigan as their legend of the game. Chris gives an hilarious Keith Jackson impersonation of Billy Joe.  he was a misunderstood player, and it's good to see the Huskies bring him back into the fold.  Chris is off to cover Jackson and Kamiak for the Big Game of the Week and tells the inspiring story of Will Turpin, a young man battling cancer. Egan weighs in on his prediction for the Husky game and they laugh about the QB legacy at Puyallup High School and whey weren't there more Huard's??Finally, Puck wraps up the show with, “Hey, What the Puck!?” Couldn't have asked for a better start to the Seahawks season after the first month. Ton of credit goes to Mike Macdonald. Rundown00:00 Puck and Jim jump right into our gambling picks with their handicapper, TroyWins and picking the top games in college football and the NFL 29:44 Puck and Jim breakdown the comments from Mariners owner John Stanton to Daniel Kramer of MLB.com.  Puck and Jim can't understand the disconnect between ownership and their fanbase.   Stanton is in love with Jerry Dipoto and he can't see the mistakes in front of his face. It's the final visit of the year for Brad as the Mariners season is over. Puck starts off the show before Mike jumps on talking about fans reactions and anger towards ROOT Sports and how they aren't critical of the Mariners. Puck explains that they work for the team and no one who works for a team whether on TV or radio is going to be overly critical of that particular team.  The Seahawks finished up the first month of the season and Puck loves where the team is at right now.  The offensive numbers have stood out and the defense, minus the Detroit game has been good.  On thing the defense needs to improve on is forcing turnovers. Mike Garafolo, NFL Network joins the show and immediately discusses the market for Davante Adams who has requested a trade from the Raiders.  The Jets and the Saints are the obvious landing spots, but Mike said keep an eye out for the 49ers because they tried to trade for Adams over the summer while dealing with Brandon Aiyuk.  If the Niners were to trade for Adams they would obviously be shipping Aiyuk out.  Does Tyreke Hill want out of Miami and does he want to return to the Chiefs.  Mike gives the lates on that situation.  Doesn't look like Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers will play for the Giants on Sunday as he deals with a concussion.  Also, don't anticipate to see Seahawks defensive tackle Byron Murphy against the Giants, but Leonard Williams will try and give it a go.  Other NFL news, what happened with Von Miller and his four-game suspension?  Drama brewing between Josh Allen and Stefon DiggsBrad Adam, ROOT Sports drops by for his last weekly visit of the baseball season to put the finishing touches on the season.  They address the Jerry Dipoto “press conference” over the weekend.  Do Mariner fans trust this ownership group?  Mariners have significant holes in the infield, how will they fill all those holes?Lastly, what is the future of ROOT Sports?  Brad shares the behind the scenes emotions of not knowing whether or not he and others will have a job next season. Rundown00:00 Puck opens up telling fans to lay off people that work at ROOT Sports.  You would do the same thing.   Seahawks first month grades.  Offense looks great and so does defense minus just one game.  Big stretch of games coming up for Seattle and all at home, just take advantage of the schedule. 20:03 Mike Garafolo, NFL Network joins the show.  Davante Adams trade update. 49ers players for Adams? Tyreke Hill wants out of Miami?  Josh Allen vs. Stefon Diggs? Malik Nabers doubtful. Bryron Murphy not looking good. 49:48 Brad Adam, ROOT Sports. Final visit of the season for Brad.  Do fans trust this ownership group?  Massive holes to fill in the infield for Seattle, how will they do it?  Jerry Dipoto's “press conference” and the job uncertainty of Brad's future and the future of ROOT Sports 1:30:05 “Hey, What the Puck?!” The Seattle Mariners and owner John Stanton don't understand how to actually win a championship.

Headlines and Gregg Bell (Tacoma News Tribune/933KJR) Our Seahawks insider joins us to discuss the latest from OTAs and the expectations for a revamped offense and defense under MacDonald and Grubb. :30- ABCs of the Mariners - G: is for Garver- we get Bucky's opinion on Garver's switch to DH and his improved hitting when he was behind the plate last week. Is the change weighing on him? - H: is for Homie- we thought Mitch Spence was a homie, but it turns out he was only born in Kirkland. - I: is for invested- John Stanton is reminding the fans that he is invested in adding to this team and making sure that Jerry and Justin have the resources they need when they need them. :45- What is going on in the WNBA? Are players out to get Caitlin Clark or are we being overly sensitive about routine rookie treatment?

The Gang is back together and it's Chuck's birthday! The Mariners found their offense over the weekend, but will it last? They need to add a bat or two and after Ryan Divish and Adam's sit down with John Stanton, Chuck firmly believes they will add at the trade deadline, but not early. Is there even going to be anyone available the Mariners would be interested in? The Blue Jays, White Sox and Rockies have all said Vlad, Bichette, Robert and McMann aren't available. Pete Alonso's name continues to be floated around, but a rental doesn't seem wise, nor does it seem to fit with how this organization operates. :30- One Series recap- we launched the Seahawks One Series yesterday with John Boyle talking about Devon Witherspoon. How will he be utilized in this Mike MacDonald defense? :45- The Mariners have added former National, Victor Robles. What do we know about him? 5 years ago, he was thought to be a can't miss prospect and ranked ahead of Juan Soto, these days he has a .120 avg, .401 ops, but it's only over 25 ABs. What can he bring to the Mariners? A year ago, he was crushing lefties, but it was only over 33 ABs. That seems to be the role they are wanting to put him in as he's already with the big club and Clase has been sent back to Tacoma. And no, this is NOT their solution to the offensive woes, it's someone they can get for cheap and preserve Clase.
