The Minnesota Twins made another trade Monday, acquiring CF Michael A. Taylor from the Kansas City Royals for relief prospects Steven Cruz and Evan Sisk. The Twins have made an effort to build depth on their roster for 2023, evidenced by their trade for Pablo López. Taylor leads all outfielders in Defensive Runs Saved since 2020 and joins an outfield group with Byron Buxton, Joey Gallo and Max Kepler. This outfield looks to be a special one defensively, with four to six viable options on the grass. What does this mean for Kepler? For the Twins outlook in 2023? Would I have done this trade? The Minnesota Twins, after losing out on Carlos Correa, Carlos Rodón, Willson Contreras and a plethora of other free agents, recently inked outfielder Joey Gallo to a one-year, $11 million contract. It's a curious move for a team with an evident glut in left-handed corner bats. Gallo is coming off a very poor season with the Yankees and Dodgers and is hoping to rebuild his value. Why did the Twins make this move and what does it mean for the rest of the outfield, specifically Max Kepler? Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Introduction: You are forgiven if you had an impending sense of doom as the 9th inning unfolded for the Twins on Friday. After blowing Saturday's game against the lowly Angels, things were slipping away against the Royals. But this time, All-Star closer Jorge Lopez induced a huge double play to preserve a 4-2 win. Max Kepler had three hits, breaking a huge slump. And the scoreboard watching, which will be a feature of the rest of the season, continued. 8:00: Vikings writer Andrew Krammer joins host Michael Rand for a breakdown of Sunday's first preseason game. There was a lot to like, including a two-touchdown performance from QB Kellen Mond. Did Mond do enough to re-emerge in the backup QB race? Who else showed flashes? And what areas are still concerns as the preseason rolls on? 26:00: Rand takes note of a key pass rush stat that the Vikings will need to improve upon this season.

Star Tribune columnist Patrick Reusse joins host Michael Rand as they tie a bow on the Wolves' season and look ahead to the Wild's playoff series starting Monday night against St. Louis. Reusse and Rand agree: The Wolves' backcourt is a concern, and if there's a way to move off of D'Angelo Russell this offseason the organization should pursue a trade. After a 46-win season and competitive playoff series, this appears to be a team on the rise, but even getting back to that point next season will be difficult. Reusse also calls this the best Wild team in franchise history and takes note of Max Kepler's resurgence with the Twins.

They dive into the depth of the Minnesota lineup, which demonstrated its quality beyond its star, Byron Buxton. They also recap the play of the two pitchers the Twins received in the Taylor Rogers trade as well as the one they got in the Nelson Cruz deal (as it turns out, Joe Ryan might be quite good).
