The Phillies are 5-1 out the gates and host the World Series Champion Dodgers this weekend for three at The Bank. A great early litmus test for this group, they are 7-3 in their last 10 against LA, including wins in 6 of their last 7 contests. Early on, the lineup is quiet against starting pitchers while raking against relief pitchers. To beat the Dodgers, the Phils will have to change that narrative. Cristopher Sanchez pitched into the sixth inning and struckout 7 Rockies hitters in his first start of 2025. The Phillies are now 3-1 on the season. They'll be off today, before Zack Wheeler gets his second start of the year against Kyle Freeland tomorrow.

As Spring Training begins in Clearwater for the Philadelphia Phillies, right fielder Nick Castellanos likes what the organization has done this offseason. In talking with the media, Castellanos praised the moves to acquire starting pitcher, Jesus Luzardo, outfielder, Max Kepler, and reliever, Jordan Romano. Castellanos said, in part, that the Phillies got better heading into 2025 after falling to the New York Mets in four games in the NLDS in 2024. But did the Phillies actually improve for 2025?

He's not the same player he was a few years ago, as the exit velocities are off, and last year, he rarely walked. You typically don't see the fall-off he had last season in his walk rate, so there could be some positive correction. However, with the bat speed down, players will get more anxious. His ADP is 639.51. Is there any value left? Maybe a flier in a Draft and Hold League?4.The Orioles sign Tomoyuki Sugano.
