He believes some players, like the Knicks, Pete Alonso, and Francisco Lindor, care more about winning than others, like Juan Soto. Baseball is back, Jim Harbaugh is still a character, and CLo has a golf highlight. Gio believes their panicked reaction, not the kiss itself, caused the uproar, and he disliked kiss cams. They agree "bad publicity" is untrue. CLo provides his final update, discussing the Pebble Beach trip and Al and Eddie's non-golfing plans. CLo shares a recurring dream and "Ripped From the Headlines." Moment of The Day: Eddie's song. BT and Sal engage in a spirited, sarcastic, and often fiery debate about two recent slides to home plate: Anthony Volpe's game-winning "swim move" for the Yankees, and Pete Alonso's less-heralded, but still effective, slide for the Mets. Sal, ever the contrarian, dismisses the excessive praise for Volpe's slide, arguing it's overblown due to his otherwise poor season and that his speed alone should have gotten him there. BT, however, defends Volpe's athleticism and the brilliance of his maneuver, sparking a heated back-and-forth as they dissect the mechanics and context of both slides, ultimately agreeing to disagree on which was truly superior and how much credit each player deserves.
BT and Sal are concerned about Jesse Winker. Winker reportedly left todays' game with "back tightness," which immediately raises flags given his recent oblique strain. The hosts discuss the Mets' reliance on Winker as a crucial lefty bat to protect Pete Alonso in the lineup, highlighting the team's precarious offensive depth and the limited room for error if Winker is out again, especially with other key players also dealing with injuries. While one host downplays the severity of "back tightness," the other emphasizes the broader impact on the Mets' lineup and their World Series aspirations.

Is the Mets' "Big Three" of Juan Soto, Francisco Lindor, and Pete Alonso enough to win it all, or do they desperately need another big bat? Sal's convinced the pitching staff can't carry them, especially with Clay Holmes hitting an alarming innings limit that could spell disaster! And speaking of disasters, the Yankees' decision to shove DJ LeMahieu to the bench has BT fuming, demanding the washed-up infielder be DFA'd immediately. But the fireworks truly ignite when they dissect Mike Brown's introductory press conference as the new Knicks head coach. BT rips into Brown's "word salad" and "coach speak," declaring him an uninspiring hire, while Sal argues his offensive prowess and fresh energy are exactly what the Knicks need. Plus, Juan Soto's jaw-dropping comments about All-Star money will leave you speechless! You won't want to miss this no-holds-barred discussion that's guaranteed to have you yelling at your radio!

BT and Sal dive into an impassioned discussion about the New York Mets' aggressive approach to the upcoming trade deadline. While acknowledging owner Steve Cohen's "go for it" mentality and the team's perceived championship window, they debate the extent of the Mets' potential moves, emphasizing the need for a top-tier bullpen arm and other significant additions. Sal believes anything is on the table and expects ultra-aggression, while BT urges the Mets to strategically part with prospects for difference-makers, especially given the ticking clock on key players like Francisco Lindor and Pete Alonso. They also explore potential trade targets like Brian Reynolds and Jose Ramirez, highlighting the Mets' financial advantage in absorbing bad contracts to retain prospects, and ponder a potential Subway Series trade deadline showdown with the Yankees for key players.
Covino & Rich are filling for the DP Show! What are the Bushwacking Bandits? Better than Aaron Judge? An NFL reminder, plus Andy Roddick has some interesting comments about the sports of tennis. That leads to a debate over harder-than-they-look sports! The boys talk about if the Subway Series should be on the July 4th weekend again and Pete Alonso not competing in the Home Run Derby this year.
Shaun, Tiki, Tommy and Rosie talk about the Subway Series, if the Yankees should be sellers, fireworks, Pete Alonso not competing in the HR Derby, the many issues involving Anthony Volpe, Evan's Europe trip and much more!
Boomer & Gio are out this week so today it's Jerry and Willie Colon. We started with the Subway Series and how the Mets threw out a bunch of no name pitchers to face Max Fried, and it almost worked. If Cody Bellingers doesn't make that amazing catch and then doubles up Lindor at first. It saved the game for sure. Carlos Mendoza was tossed in the ninth yesterday because of the horrendous strike calls. Pete Alonso will not be doing the HR derby as he wants to enjoy the all star festivities. Juan Soto was not voted to the all star game and some see it as a snub. C-Lo is here for his first update of the day and we heard Dave Sims on the call for the Bellinger catch. The Yankees snapped a 6-game losing streak. Mendoza talked about getting tossed. Evan Roberts is in Paris for vacation and posted some videos about the Mets win on Friday. He also did a Rico Brogna podcast from France. Al is going to Montana next week and has nothing planned. Jerry said he came across professional pillow fighting. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about Aaron Boone and the Yankees as they're going through this bad stretch (not counting the win yesterday). It does not seem like the Yankees are going to run away with the East.

We talked more about criticism of players, particularly when they are making an insane amount of money. We expect them to make every play, especially in big spots, but that's impossible. We talked about the upcoming Jets and Giants seasons with Aaron Rodgers coming back to MetLife in week one. C-Lo returns for an update, but first Jerry and a caller argue about ‘shutting up'. Evan Roberts recorded a Rico Brogna podcast, live from Paris. Evan was scoring the game while in line at the airport. Pete Alonso will be in the all star game, but he will not be in the HR derby. In the final segment of the hour, Jerry has a post from X that he wants us to guess who posted it. Jerry and Willie talked to the new intern.
Hour 1 - Boomer & Gio are out this week, so Jerry Recco and Willie Colon hosted, starting with the Subway Series, where the Mets nearly beat the Yanks if not for Cody Bellinger's incredible catch. Mets manager Carlos Mendoza was tossed arguing bad strike calls, and Pete Alonso is skipping the HR Derby. Juan Soto's All-Star snub was also a topic. C-Lo gave his first update, including Dave Sims' call of the Bellinger catch, as the Yankees snapped a six-game losing streak. Evan Roberts is vacationing in Paris, posting Mets win videos and a Rico Brogna podcast. Al is off to Montana with no plans, and Jerry discovered professional pillow fighting. The hour concluded by discussing Aaron Boone and the Yankees' struggles, suggesting they won't run away with the AL East. Hour 2 - A caller to Sal Licata blamed WFAN and the media for players struggling in New York, citing their success after leaving. Willie Colon shared his own experiences with media criticism during his time with the Jets and in Pittsburgh. C-Lo then delivered an update, highlighting the Yankees' win over the Mets, including another Aaron Judge home run and Cody Bellinger's impressive catch and double play. There was also a segment on Anthony Volpe's father confronting fans in the stands who were criticizing his son, with audio of Sal's exchange with the caller on player criticism. The hour concluded with a caller mentioning Montana's attractions, specifically that you can drive to North and South Dakota from there. Hour 3 - The show continued its discussion on player criticism, especially for high-salaried athletes, balancing expectations with the reality of performance. Upcoming Jets and Giants seasons, with Aaron Rodgers' Week 1 return to MetLife, were also reviewed. C-Lo delivered an update, but not before Jerry and a caller had a brief argument. Evan Roberts recorded a "Rico Brogna" podcast from Paris while scoring a game at the airport, and Pete Alonso will be in the All-Star game but not the HR Derby. The hour ended with Jerry introducing a guessing game about an X post and a conversation with the new intern. Hour 4 - The show covered Starling Marte's injury and the Mets' anticipated return of Sean Manaea and Kodai Senga, while Jerry noted a lack of buzz for the Subway Series. The Knicks still haven't held a press conference for new head coach Mike Brown. A humorous discussion ensued about social norms regarding public attire. C-Lo's final update focused on the Yankees' win over the Mets, featuring Cody Bellinger's excellent defense. Other topics included Keith Hernandez's recent success with a plunger, Joe Benigno's seemingly too-early 5 AM Saturday show, and "The Moment of The Day" highlighting Al's unplanned Montana trip. The segment concluded with Jerry feeling "fleeced."
