The Bros come in hot on this one—FireBro, SavageBro, The Chief, and Dark Doc wrestle with the biggest themes yet: good, evil, submission, and how all of it bleeds into marriage, politics, and spiritual life. They kick off with some banter about recording mishaps and Doc's sun-soaked arrival fresh off a cruise, then dive headfirst into the heavy stuff. The assassination of Charlie Kirk serves as a flashpoint, sparking raw reflections on political violence, cancel culture flipping back on itself, and the unsettling loss of respect for human life. The Chief frames it as a moral and spiritual war—values being murdered alongside the man. SavageBro and FireBro point out the dangers of censorship, mob celebration of violence, and how ideologies can become “possessions” that blind people to basic humanity. Reuben brings a global perspective, noting that political violence is nothing new in places like Africa but raises the concern: is America heading down the same path? The Bros don't shy away from cultural flashpoints—gender ideology, family structure, free speech, and faith all get laid bare. The tone is fiery but heartfelt: an urgent plea not to grow numb, not to let evil slide in by small degrees, and not to let the war for souls be mistaken for just politics.By the end, the conversation circles back to the home front—how husbands and wives navigate submission, strength, and spiritual leadership in marriage. It's messy, it's real, and it's the Bros at their rawest: calling out darkness while wrestling with their own role in fighting for the good.#WhiskeyBros, #WhiskeyBrosPodcast, #TheUnprofessionals, #Unprofessionals, #CertifiedUnprofessional, #TheProblemWithSubmission, #WarBetweenGoodAndEvil, #FaithAndFire, #MarriageAndMorals, #SpiritualBattle, #ModernStruggles, #DeepEndDiscussion, #TruthVsDeception, #LightAndDarkness, #BalconesWhiskey, #RedRiverDistillery, #VermejoAnejo, #BlueCornWhiskey, #TexasWhiskey, #WhiskeyOfTheWeek, #ThePoint, #LaneAkin, #NLaneAkin

In order to deal with the moral confusion in contemporary society, we must emphasize the need to be able to discern between good and evil. Our modern culture is increasingly upside down in this matter. "Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!" (Isaiah 5:20) Other passages warn against justifying the wicked and condemning the righteous. Cain and Abel show us that the wicked have hated the righteous since the beginning - enough to murder them. They murdered the prophets, they murdered Jesus, and the Apostles, and the martyrs, and they still do it today, as we have witnessed this week. The battle is spiritual, not political, and not carnal. We MUST return to biblical standards of righteousness! Stand firm in the faith and recognize that true change begins with individual commitment to God's word and the courage to reject worldly influences.

To that end, Midge is very involved in her parish, The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. Midge and her wife, along with their fur babies, enjoy spending time at their mountain cabin, hiking, and being with their friends.  On today's episode I explore whether we can be so polarized in our thoughts and beliefs to 100% think that we can determine what is good and evil.  What if.... those we vehemently disagree with are just as broken as we feel?  What if the perceived evil is just a cover for their own pain, despair, and fear?   The Tree of Knowledge, or The Tree of Life. Which Will YOU Choose? When we examine the Garden of Eden narrative, we often focus exclusively on the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Yet Scripture reveals two significant trees: the tree of life positioned in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Yahweh's instruction to Adam was clear: eat from every tree except one. This divine command suggests Adam was intended to partake of the tree of life regularly. Instead, Adam chose knowledge over life, pursuing understanding apart from Elohim's wisdom. This choice reveals a fundamental tension between human reasoning and divine truth. The serpent's deception centered on acquiring knowledge, yet Yahweh had already provided access to life itself. When we study falsehood extensively to guard against it, we must ask ourselves: which tree are we consuming from? Instead, we are to choose life, an intimate relationship with Yahweh. The tree of life finds its ultimate fulfillment in Yeshua, who declared Himself "the way, the truth, and the life." Through Mashiach, we can return to that original invitation to partake of life abundant. The Word of Yahweh serves as our tree of life today, offering wisdom, understanding, and eternal sustenance when we approach it with hearts submitted to His instruction. In 1981, 21-year-old Danny Hansford was shot and killed inside one of Savannah's grandest mansions. The man who pulled the trigger, antiques dealer Jim Williams, claimed self-defense. What followed was a legal circus resulting in four high-profile trials. Then, less than a year later after the dust settled, Williams was dead. This is the case that inspired Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, the bestselling book that turned Savannah into a gothic brand. But the real story is messier than the myth. In this sweeping new history of humanity, told through the prism of our ever-changing moral norms and values, Hanno Sauer shows how modern society is just the latest step in the long evolution of good and evil and everything in between. What makes us moral beings? How do we decide what is good and what is evil? And has it always been that way? Hanno Sauer's sweeping new history of humanity, covering five million years of our universal moral values, comes at a crucial moment of crisis for those values, and helps to explain how they arose -- and why we need them. We humans were born to cooperate, but everywhere we find ourselves in conflict. The way we live together has changed fundamentally in recent decades: global mobility, demographic upheaval, migration movements, and digital networking, have all called the moral foundations of human communities into question. Modern societies are in crisis: a shared universal morality seems to be a thing of the past. Hanno Sauer explains why this appearance is deceptive: in fact, there are universal values that all people share. If we understand the origin of our morality, we can understand its future too. With philosophical expertise and empirical data, Sauer explains how processes of biological, cultural, social, and historical evolution shaped the moral grammar that defines our present. Seven chapters recount the crucial moral upheavals of human history showing how the emergence of humankind five million years ago, the rise of first civilizations 5,000 years ago, and the dynamics of moral progress in the last fifty years are interrelated. This genealogical perspective allows us, on the one hand, to see the contradictions and potential conflicts of our moral identities; on the other, it makes clear that we share fundamental values that apply to all human beings at all times. Sauer's elegant prose, translated into English by Jo Heinrich, brings the history of humanity to vivid new life. Love to hear from you; “Send us a Text Message”We explore Father Gabriele Amorth's book "God Most Powerful," which serves as a practical handbook for spiritual warfare. Rather than becoming obsessed with evil, Father Amorth encourages us to focus on strengthening our relationship with God through prayer, sacraments, and embracing truth. The best defense against darkness isn't fear but cultivating goodness and wonder in our daily lives. The conversation takes a fascinating turn as we discuss how young people today are desperately seeking meaning in a culture that often reduces humans to mere biological accidents. As one psychiatrist observed, "Young men will crawl over broken glass to find meaning." This search becomes particularly challenging when our society distorts language and rejects fundamental realities about human nature. St. Edith Stein's profound wisdom offers guidance: "Speak the truth in love and love people in the truth. One without the other is a destructive lie."Michael also reveals how developing relationships with saints provides spiritual allies in times of darkness. His simple prayer during the worst moments—"You're God, I'm not, please help"—offers immediate relief by acknowledging the divine relationship that sustains us.Our guest Michael Lichens, author and editor with a passion for overlooked aspects of Christian history, walks us through this harrowing yet ultimately redemptive story. Purchase Link: God Most Powerful, By Fr. Share this episode with someone and discuss the questions together: Discuss Ephesians 6:10-20. In it Saint Paul says, "For we are not contending against flesh and blood, but against the world rulers of this present darkness...Discuss how this is seen in our culture today: Sister Lucia of Fatima wrote, "The last great battle between Our Lord and Satan will be fought over marriage and the family". While listening to the podcast Consider and discuss:  "Young people are searching for the truth and this is what Father Amorth brings out over and over and over again, the importance of staying in the truth and reality. Truth and reality. Where do you find the truth? What is real? How should I live my life right? What is my identity?"Jacks Latest Blog Young Men United in the Eucharist: Heroically Rebuilding the Three Necessary SocietiesFollow us and watch on X: John Paul II Renewal @JP2RenewalSubscribe to our Newly Resurrected YouTube Channel!Sign up for our Newsletter: https://jp2renew.org/Support the show

Wednesday Night Live 9 July 2025In this episode, we engage with listeners in an open-ended format, exploring diverse philosophical topics that reflect their perspectives. We start by addressing humorous misunderstandings surrounding my comments on monetary donations, leading to a broader discussion on value, wealth, and gratitude. As callers pose profound questions about the existence of God and the nature of truth, we examine the role of logic in determining reality and delve into metaphysics and epistemology. We also tackle moral philosophy, contrasting consequentialism with universally preferable behavior, while discussing how personal beliefs shape perceptions of morality. Throughout the episode, we highlight the importance of empathy and the personal histories that inform philosophical stances, reinforcing that philosophy is a practical tool for addressing existential challenges. We conclude by emphasizing community engagement and the value of continued dialogue on these complex issues.FOLLOW ME ON X! https://x.com/StefanMolyneuxGET MY NEW BOOK 'PEACEFUL PARENTING', THE INTERACTIVE PEACEFUL PARENTING AI, AND THE FULL AUDIOBOOK!https://peacefulparenting.com/Join the PREMIUM philosophy community on the web for free!Subscribers get 12 HOURS on the "Truth About the French Revolution," multiple interactive multi-lingual philosophy AIs trained on thousands of hours of my material - as well as AIs for Real-Time Relationships, Bitcoin, Peaceful Parenting, and Call-In Shows! You also receive private livestreams, HUNDREDS of exclusive premium shows, early release podcasts, the 22 Part History of Philosophers series and much more!See you soon!https://freedomain.locals.com/support/promo/UPB2025

Today we discuss sex and vaccines, reality and renegades. First: men can no longer compete in women's sports—from Trump's Executive Order, to the NCAA's response, to William “Lia” Thomas having his records rescinded at Penn, reality is prevailing. Other evidence includes the UK Supreme Court declaring that “man” and “woman” refer to biological reality; and the U.S. Supreme Court writing an opinion that forcing LGBTQ+ books on children in public elementary schools is unconstitutional. Men cannot magically turn into women, nor boys into girls, no matter what they believe or are told. Then: from the ACIP (Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices) to Vinay Prasad's latest presentation at the FDA: the federal government is being populated by a combination of true renegades and middle ground scramblers who are dressed like renegades. A good toolkit for understanding how to make sense of the claims being made is necessary, and we all should be rooting for the renegades to win.*****Our sponsors:CrowdHealth: Pay for healthcare with crowdfunding instead of insurance. Sent us text! We would love to hear from you! The future is not guaranteed. It is always good to have a plan for tomorrow, but it's worth taking time to enjoy your life in the present. Musical influences come and go, but the recent loss of one of the greatest American musical innovators of all time, Sylvester Stone, who led the group known as Sly to & The Family Stone has left the music world stunned. Featuring one of the first high profile bands, integrated in terms of race and gender, the group made a permanent imprint on the consciousness of young people as well as musical performers of their generation. In addition, the recent loss of another staple of American culture of the 1960's and 70's, Brian Wilson of the musical group The Beach Boys shortly thereafter, brought into focus the negative effects that drug use can have on the human life. Artificial Intelligence, AI has become an integral part of daily life as a primary method of retrieval of information of all types. One of the drawbacks of this labor-saving technology is the tendency of students at all levels to allow the system complete certain school assignments, perhaps making written essays a thing of the past. The quick answer is to substitute written assignments with oral reports or examinations. The trend is most pronounced with college students in the humanities, but its improving technology may pose a similar problem in technical disciplines as well in the future. Most people are aware that smoking is detrimental to human health. The trend towards smoke-free zones is expanding well outside of the United States and into other nations by government decree, to improve the health of their populations, particularly among teenagers. At one time there were ads in magazines and on television with people posing as medical doctors who actually advertised and promoted smoking for the general population. Meet a wingman who developed his own program to eliminate the loss of life by drowning, by starting his own swimming program that has taught over ten thousand people how to swim with confidence and safety.

And Jehovah said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus said Jehovah the God of the Hebrews, Let My people go, that they may serve Me. For I this time will send all My plagues into thy heart, and into thy servants, and into thy people; that thou mayest know that there is no one as I in the whole earth. For now I would put forth My hand, and smite thee and thy people with pestilence, and thou wouldest be cut off from the earth; but yet for this cause have I made thee to stand, that thou mayest see My power, and that My name may be told in the whole earth. As yet thou exaltest thyself against My people, in thy not letting them go. Behold, tomorrow about this time I will cause it to rain a very grievous hail, such as hath not been in Egypt since the day it was founded even until now. And now send, gather in thy cattle, and all that thou hast in the field; every man and beast that shall be found in the field, and shall not be brought to the house, the hail shall come down upon them, and they shall die. He that feared the word of Jehovah of the servants of Pharaoh, made his servants and his cattle flee unto the houses; and he that did not set his heart unto the word of Jehovah left his servants and his cattle in the field. Exodus 9:13-21 The sorting of the good and evil states of mind Arcana Coelestia 7541...[2] It is according to order that one plague should follow another, and the evil be thus successively cast down into hell, and therefore it is here said that it might come to pass that they would all rush in together. As the man of the church has no knowledge about the state of the life after death, he believes that after his life in the body a man is either at once uplifted into heaven, or cast into hell; when nevertheless this takes place successively, although with much variety in respect to times and in respect to states. With the good who are to be uplifted into heaven, evils are successively separated, and the good are filled with goods according to the faculty of reception acquired in the world. And with the evil who are to be cast into hell, goods are successively separated, and the evil are successively filled with evils, according to the faculty of reception acquired in the world. [3] Moreover a man in the other life enters into new states, and undergoes changes. Those who are being uplifted into heaven, and afterward when they have been uplifted, are perfected to eternity; but those who are being cast down to hell, and afterward when they have been cast down, endure evils continually more grievous, and this until they dare not do evil to anyone. After this they remain in hell to eternity, whence they cannot be taken out, because it cannot be given them to will good to anyone, but only, from fear of the penalty, not to do evil, the desire to do it always remaining. On those who infest in the 'other life' AC 7545... How the case is with this communication has already been told, namely, that those who infest the upright in the other life are such as in the world have been in the church and have read the Word, and have known the doctrinal things of faith of their church and have also professed them, but have lived a life of evil. So long as such in the other life retain the things of faith, they have communication with heaven, and so long they cannot be cast down into hell; and therefore it is these things that are by degrees taken away from them; and after these have been taken away, the evil no longer have anything to hold them up; but then like weights without support, or like birds with their wings cut off, they fall downward, or into the deep. From all this it is evident what is meant by the possibility of the communication being taken away from them. On remains AC 7556... the good and truth which are reserved by the Lord, even with the evil; for the good and truth which have not been adjoined to evils and falsities,

Questions? Comments? Text Us!In the newest What's On Your Mind, host Scott Langdon sits down with Dr. Jerry L. Martin for a deep and heartfelt conversation about divine growth, spiritual tension, and the unfolding mystery of God's nature. As they revisit God's revelation to the ancient prophet Zoroaster, the discussion opens with Jerry's experience of spiritual anxiety, and how his body reacted to the unknown before divine communication began. This leads into a powerful exploration of how God Himself describes being not all-powerful, not all-knowing, and not all-good; at least not in the absolute sense. Instead, God is growing, evolving, and seeking fullness through relationship, through the world, and through us.Through Zoroaster's divine encounter, God comes to see His “other side.” A concept that challenges traditional theology but resonates deeply with those who see spirituality as a journey, not a fixed set of beliefs. Scott and Jerry explore themes like duality, good and evil, panentheism, and the reality of imperfection in divine creation.Drawing from metaphors in music, embodiment, and human love, the conversation touches on Beethoven, spiritual embodiment, and how meaning is co-created through lived experience. This episode will speak to anyone curious about the divine, questioning inherited beliefs, or wondering if God can grow with us.

Questions? Comments? Text Us!In this special episode of The Life Wisdom Project Jerry L. Martin is joined by acclaimed horror author, essayist, and religious thinker Matt Cardin for a profound exploration of divine duality, Zoroastrian cosmology, and the moral landscape of good and evil.Together, they dive into God's revelations to the prophet Zoroaster as recounted in God: An Autobiography, As Told to a Philosopher, unpacking a worldview where life is not a passive unfolding — but an active battlefield between light and darkness, truth and illusion. Through the lens of Zoroastrianism and Manichaean thought, the conversation traces how spiritual maturity demands we choose a side — not in tribal allegiance, but in moral clarity and existential responsibility.Matt Cardin brings his unique background at the crossroads of religion, metaphysical horror, and philosophical inquiry to the fore. The episode confronts some of the most challenging spiritual insights from the book, including:“Most spiritually attuned people are not truth seekers.”“To look evil in the face is a spiritual act.”“My aspects have a life of their own and go wayward.”These statements form the foundation for a dialogue about spiritual integration, shadow work, divine self-awareness, and the lived tension between peace and calamity — as illustrated in both Zoroaster's vision and Isaiah 45, where God declares, “I form the light and create darkness.”The episode also explores how horror writing, when used with spiritual intent, can serve as a radical form of not turning away — of confronting the hidden, the repressed, the divine and monstrous within. Cardin's reflections on Jung, Freud, and the archetypal struggle for integration are especially resonant for seekers navigating complexity in both self and cosmos.Whether you're drawn to Zoroastrian theology, psychological integration, or the spiritual function of horror literature, this conversation invites you to experience divine reality with open eyes — and a willingness to face the truth, however unsettling it may be.Other Series:The podcast began with the Dramatic Adaptation of the book and now has several series:From God To Jerry To You- a brand-new series calling for the attention of spiritual seekers everywhere, featuring breakthroughs, pathways, and illuminations. Two Philosophers Wrestle With God- sit in on a dialogue between philosophers about God and the questions we all have. What's On Our Mind- Connect the dots with Jerry and Scott over the most recent series episodes. What's On Your Mind- What are readers and listeners saying?
