Tamra, Heather, Carmela, and Gina head to Santa Barbara, while Vicki hosts Emily, Shannon, and Jenn at her La Quinta desert home. Before they even get settled, the drama surrounding Heather and Carmela continues, with Emily revealing that Heather has been talking about Carmela behind her back while simultaneously using her as a real estate agent. Carmela admits that what bothers her most is the contradiction between Heather privately texting her about how excited she is to see her while apparently calling her “trashy” behind the scenes. Gina is determined to get Heather to acknowledge the hypocrisy, while Tamra points out that this seems to be a pattern with Heather. Meanwhile, Vicki's relationship drama with Jenn becomes another topic of conversation, with Vicki admitting that Jenn is “low-hanging fruit” when she gets frustrated—which does not exactly make her look better.The two groups continue their separate adventures, with Vicki's group enjoying her gorgeous desert home, playing golf, making pizzas, and trying to “whoop it up,” while the Santa Barbara group explores Solvang and gets into the Heather/Carmela situation over lunch. Gina confronts Heather about going apartment shopping with Carmela after allegedly calling her trashy, and Heather insists she was simply looking for a rental for Max in an area where Carmela specializes. Carmela is sitting right there trying to understand why everyone is still talking about a conflict she thought had already been addressed. Back in La Quinta, the conversation turns toward Vicki's behavior, particularly her tendency to go after Jenn and her unwillingness to share much about her own life. Emily calls out the imbalance in the friendship, while Vicki becomes increasingly defensive. Even Shannon, usually Vicki's biggest ally, tries to explain where the women are coming from, but Vicki refuses to hear it and accuses everyone of bringing negative energy into her home.And then everything completely falls apart. Vicki retreats to her bedroom, complaining that the women are disrespecting her in her own house, just as Michael arrives home. The atmosphere immediately changes, with Shannon wondering if they should simply leave and Emily and Jenn sensing that something is very wrong. Vicki eventually comes back out and tells everyone that Michael is there and that they can “get the fuck out,” before walking away and telling production that she is done. It is an absolutely chaotic ending to an already messy episode, and Vicki somehow manages to become the least welcoming host imaginable in a house she invited everyone to stay in. But to secure Trump's support, Blanche has indulged some of Trump's most concerning instincts, as evidenced by the attempt to establish an anti-weaponization fund for Trump allies and renewed indictments of figures like former FBI Director James Comey. Meanwhile, DOJ has seen scandal after scandal during Blanche's tenure over the rapidly declining quality and credibility of its work, exemplified most recently by evidence of grand jury tampering, arguably, in the Broadview Six prosecutions. What should we expect of DOJ under a confirmed Blanche? And how enduring will some of the harm that may result be for the department?“Tinker, Tailor, Realtor, Spy.” President Trump's decision to dual-hat Federal Housing Finance Agency director Bill Pulte—a man with no national security experience, who is best known for using his role at the FHFA to facilitate some of Trump's most transparent attacks on perceived political enemies—as Acting Director of National Intelligence has triggered strong reactions across the political spectrum. This includes a threat by congressional Democrats to kill renewal of Section 702 surveillance authorities if Pulte remains in the acting position. But Trump has thus far refused to back down. What does Pulte's appointment—and the potential expiration of Section 702—mean for national security?“Pratt Falls.” The open primary in the Los Angeles mayor's race is over, and Trump-endorsed candidate Spencer Pratt finished just outside the final two who will proceed into the general election. But U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli, a Trump loyalist, has suggested that voter fraud investigations are ongoing, leading some other Republican officials and leaders to call the results into question. What should we make of these unsubstantiated allegations? And are they a preview of what Republicans have planned for 2026? At the Jordan River, something quietly thunderous occurs. The Son of God steps down from the glorious Heavens into the murky water not to be made clean, but to make the waters themselves a divine proclamation. He reveals the secret, robbed from humanity since the drama of the Book of Genesis, when the Serpent tricked our first parents to eat of the Forbidden Fruit. It is tempting to think of baptism merely as an elaborate cultural ritual, or even as an excuse to throw another party. No, it is so much more majestic than that. Baptism is the unveiling.Here stands Jesus, shoulder to shoulder with sinners, though He has no sin of His own to confess. In this act alone we learn something decisive about who He is. God does not reveal Himself here as a distant examiner of humanity, but as One who enters the queue, who wades into our muddied rivers and calls them holy by His presence. When the heavens open and the Father's voice declares delight in the Son, it is not a private compliment whispered for Jesus' ears alone. It is a public declaration of identity.“This is my beloved Son.” Before a sermon is preached, before a miracle is worked, before a cross is raised, the Son is named and loved. The order matters. Jesus does not earn the Father's pleasure; He receives it. And here is the astonishing turn of the Christian story: what is revealed in Him is not meant to stop with Him.For if Christ steps into the waters on our behalf, then we step out of them in His. Baptism, ours and His alike, is not chiefly about our decision for God, but God's declaration over us. In Christ, we are drawn into that same pronouncement of love. We do not become sons and daughters by striving, but by being joined to the Son.Thus the Jordan becomes a mirror. When we look upon Jesus baptized, we glimpse our own true identity—often obscured by fear, failure, or frantic self-invention. Beneath all these lies a deeper truth spoken from heaven itself: you are beloved.
