And this year, I’ll be DJ’ing an event I’ve always wanted to spin; the legendary Sunday tea dance on the river at Crescent Park, which is followed by the second line parade through the Quarter, ending at St. Ann and Bourbon streets. GUEST MIX 006! Here's the latest installment of my 'guest mix' series, where I bring you exclusive podcasts from some of my favorite DJs and producers around the world. Hey All, I’d like to write a very special thank you to everyone who came out for Halloween New Orleans this year. It was truly one of the most amazing nights of my DJ career to date and Saturday night’s “Fall of the Pharaohs” event was definitely one for the record books. I felt like Daft Punk spinning in that pyramid. I don’t always post my sets, but this one I did indeed record. I hope you enjoy re-living the memories from the night… throw it on at the gym and hopefully the gold body paint will practically re-emerge in your sweat. While mine was a warm-up set, Joe Gauthreaux’s set the second half of the night was probably 3 of the best hours of dance music that I’ve ever heard. I can’t thank the incomparably talented Joe and Stephen Massey (DJ Grind) enough for their amazing camaraderie this year! I love the feeling of listening to deep house music as the weather gets cooler. There's something about the cozy feeling of the oncoming winter that just puts me in the best mood. OK, well maybe not so much in LA, but it's nice to think that it's fall most places! I made my first deep house podcast last January, and I've been meaning to make my second one ever since. If I had my druthers, I'd be playing deep at a lot more gigs — I absolutely love this sound so much. It's what I listen to when I'm at home or when I'm feeling meditative when stuck in the car for long rides. Some of these songs are mainstream and some are more underground. I picked each one for how it flowed into the overall mix. Just pop this baby on, and let your pain fade away…. ***note: I just realized that there's a four second skip at the very end of "Sunlight" — it's driving me crazy TRUST ME, but I have so much going on this month that I don't have time to re-record the whole podcast just to fix it.
