Join Pastor Jon Benzinger in this thought-provoking episode as he sits down with Dr. Mark Ward, a New Testament scholar with a PhD from Bob Jones University, to dive deep into the King James Only (KJV) movement. On the Redeeming Truth podcast, Dr. Ward highlights why some believe the KJV is the only inspired translation—viewing it as the unadulterated Word of God—and why this perspective can be divisive and limiting. In This Episode, You'll Discover: The KJV-Only Belief: Understand the roots of the KJV-only stance and why its proponents hold the King James Version as the singular, authoritative Bible translation. The Case Against Exclusivity: Hear Dr. Ward explain how insisting on one version can hinder believers' access to God's Word, potentially creating barriers to understanding. Modern Translations Matter: Learn about the importance of having Bible translations that are clear, intelligible, and accessible and why modern English versions can coexist with the KJV. Navigating Controversial Language: Explore the challenges posed by some of the language and rhetoric used by KJV advocates and how this impacts both theological discourse and community unity. Whether you're a long-time follower of the KJV movement or just curious about the dynamics of Bible translations, this episode offers valuable insights and a balanced perspective on how we engage with Scripture today. The KJV beautifully rendered the Scriptures into the language of turn-of-the-seventeenth-century England. Even today the King James is the most widely read Bible in the United States. The rich cadence of its Elizabethan English is recognized even by non-Christians. But English has changed a great deal over the last 400 years, and in subtle ways that very few modern readers will recognize. In Authorized Mark L. Ward, Jr. shows what exclusive readers of the KJV are missing as they read God's word. For more information visit: https://cbtseminary.org

We often hear people talking about their need for "me time" and, in the busy world of work and family, that is indeed a genuine need, but further up the age brackets there's often very little but "me time" with older people feeling increasingly lonely, isolated and disconnected from a world that seems in a dreadful rush, a world where people spend so much time on their phones or tablets rather than engaging with the people next to them, a world where someone can very quickly feel that they don't really belong anymore. Research carried out by Trinity College in Dublin has highlighted growing numbers of older people in particular expressing a 'wish to die' because they felt socially isolated. Is there, sadly, an inevitability to that, or can we change as a society to become one where inclusion is truly multi-generational? Presenter Audrey Carville in conversation with Dr Mark Ward from Trinity College Dublin, retired school principal Michele Marken, Kellie Turtle from Age NI, and senior lecturer in social policy at Ulster University Goretti Horgan.
Dr. Mark Ward, Senior Research Fellow at TILDA discusses their research findings which highlight the increasing rates of loneliness and suicidal thoughts among older people.

Dado que ya entendemos el concepto de la GEOGRAFÍA CÓSMICA y como esta está presente tanto en el Antiguo Testamento como en el Nuevo, es importante echarle un vistazo a esta idea desde la mente de Pablo de Tarso, quien fue uno de los escritores más prolíficos del Nuevo Testamento. Veremos cómo su misión consistía en reclamar las naciones mediante el mensaje del evangelio, revirtiendo así los eventos de la Torre de Babel. Join us on The Remnant Radio, as we dive into the world of Bible translations and the Tree of Life Version (TLV) with our special guest, Dr. Jeffrey Seif. Dr. Seif is a distinguished figure in the world of Messianic Judaism, renowned for his extensive contributions to biblical scholarship and his role as a key figure behind the TLV translation.Born into a German-Jewish family, Seif's spiritual journey led him from a traditional Jewish upbringing to a profound faith in Jesus, which eventually called him into vocational ministry. He earned his master's degree and doctorate from the Southern Methodist University Theological Seminary and has since become a prominent figure in the Messianic Jewish movement. The Tree of Life Version (TLV) is a modern English translation of the Bible designed to reflect the Jewish roots and context of the Scriptures. While it aims to provide a clear and accurate representation of the original Hebrew and Greek texts, the TLV also preserves the Jewish cultural and linguistic elements found within the Bible. However, not everyone shares the same enthusiasm for this unique translation.Mark Ward, a Bible scholar and TLV critic, has come on Remnant and expressed reservations about the TLV. He questions the extensive use of transliterated Hebrew terms in the translation and raises concerns about its intelligibility for a broader audience. Additionally, Mark Ward challenges the practice of replacing "Lord" in the New Testament with "ADONAI" and the use of Hebrew transliterations for certain terms. You can watch that episode here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TEiKbrXgp1o&t=12sIn this episode, Dr. Jeffrey Seif will defend and elaborate on the Tree of Life Version's merits, addressing Mark Ward's concerns and providing insights into the translation's purpose and significance.
