No weapon formed as against McDonalds shall proper! Yes we kick this epsiode off with the Golden Arches but in episode 124 we are discussing Speak No Evil, the horror thriller starring James Macavoy with special guest Shawn! We also want to show love and support tho all those effected by Hurricane Milton. The crew gets into the most disappointing movie and begin at the top discussing Joker 2. We breakdown the 2 families in the film and the glaring differences between. There were a plethora of red flags I'm this movie , but which one is deterring you? Who's winning a fight, Me Crockett or Candy Man? And of course WAS IT GOOD THOUGH?!
Spooky season rolls right along over here at Netflix Book Club where episode 222 is Speak No Evil!
This week we take a look at a Tour De Force performance from James MacAvoy in Split. The word that perfectly describes M. Nights filmography, yet ironically most people really love. This week the Electronic Wireless Show podcast is going all in on our favourite finishing moves. This doesn't just mean things from fighting games, although they do obviously make a good showing. As you can imagine, Nate makes the case for RTS games with what he and his pals term 'the GG push'. Plus, we have a great Mortal Kombat themed Cavern Of Lies this week, courtesy of Matthew. Much time is spent on some excellent digressions this week, including James MacAvoy as a rampaging dinosaur from Jurassic Park (a state of affairs that I think would have improved his weird improv film My Son). Plus, could Matthew Save the world if he grew to six size the times of the earth and cut off a slab of his bum like a big steak, to feed us all? Will someone make a game like Deep Rock Galactic, but for mining Matthew's celestial bum-meat? A whimsical episode this week indeed. Plus: don't forget to tell Henry Cavill we love him and want to be friends.
The gang is wrongly accused this week, as they review Joe Wright's follow up Pride and Prejudice, starring Keira Knightley and James MacAvoy... Atonement (2007). Also featuring a young Saoirse Ronan, Juno Temple, and Benedict Cumberbatch before he blew up. Set during WWII, Atonement tells a tale of two loves that could have been, and the unjust reason that they can never be. Heartbreaking, and wonderfully shot, and featuring one of the best long-take shots in all of cinema history, this one is worth seeking out. When you ask people what the Greatest TV show of all time is, folks say things like "the Wire," or "the Sopranos." When people ask what the greatest movie of all time is, folks say things like "Citizen Kane" or "the Godfather." And when it comes to comics, most will say this week' book, Neil Gaiman's "The Sandman." So for the next two weeks, it's all sandman, all the time (well, at least just 2 episodes) The Sandman chronicles the eponymous character, also known as Dream, or Morpheus. He's one of the seven Endless, alongside Destiny, Death, Desire, Despair, Delirium and Destruction. And while there are many tales of the titular character, the series serves as Gaiman's canvas to tell some weird and wonderful tales where the Lord of Dreams is but supporting character to the dreams of the world..it's a story about stories. Launched by DC comics in 1988, and running til 1996, Sandman was the flagship of their Vertigo imprint, which would go on to produce some of comics other greatest series. The book soon became one of the few comics to make the NY Times bestseller list. To this day, many would argue the book remains in a league of its own. And while many adaptations have been attempted, all but one have failed: a recent audio adaptation narrated by Gaiman himself with James MacAvoy voicing the role of Morpheus. This episode covers the first 5 Volumes of Sandman, from 1989's "Preludes & Nocturnes" to 1992's "A Game of You" - next episode will cover V6-10.

Welcome to Growth HQ Podcast, Episode 3. Today’s guest is James MacAvoy of Goodnest. James has been involved in several internet businesses over the course of his life including Xero, Trade Me, and Retail Works. Goodnest is an on demand cleaning service with several locations in New Zealand. James says on demand services are enjoying steady growth. Goodnest allows customers to book cleaning services for their home or business and cleaners employed by the company take care of the job. Word of mouth has been a great tool for the ability for James to grow the business. We dive into many details of the on demand service market, hiring the right people and gaining trust. James warns not to underestimate the operational work that’s involved with managing a service based business. Technology is helping immensely, but there is no substitute for face-to-face training and execution to business operations. For James being an entrepreneur means having the curiosity to aspire to do something unique. He says look at what other companies are doing, but don’t follow in their footsteps, do something a bit unique from the others. It’s a matter of finding things consumers want and building upon that. As always, I invite you to check out my website, http://growthhq.co.nz/
