In the first half of this two-part episode, author Rae Wilde ("Merciless Waters," I Do Not Apologize For My Position on Men") returns to talk about her upcoming novella "I Can Fix Her" (June 3, CLASH Books). They discuss the terror of "nightmare logic," Rae's interest in exploring toxic sapphic romance, the "Wilde Test" (i.e. decentering men altogether as significant drivers of plot in narrative), the unique lure of obsession, and the hazards of power in relationships. Rae and Scotty also dive into an impromptu conversation about Darren Aronofsky's divisive 2017 psychological horror film "mother!" In the second half, Scotty welcomes Albuquerque-based actor Peter Diseth ("Roswell, New Mexico," "Better Call Saul") to talk about his performance as Jorg in the new satirical horror film "Opus" (2025), starring Ayo Edebiri, John Malkovich, Juliette Lewis, and written/directed by newcomer Mark Anthony Green. Aside from discussing his experience on the film itself, they spend a few minutes on Peter's background in the New Mexico film and theatre scene, explore the fine line between comedy and horror, and consider the trend towards "the horror of politeness" in film like "Opus," "The Invitation" (2015), "Speak No Evil" (2022), and "The Menu" (2022). It's Gather Round, baby! We've spent the past three days at Adelaide Oval watching back-to-back AFL games as part of the greatest festival to ever happen in Adelaide. We kick-start the week with our Gather Round recap, before diving into the footy news of the week: the rise in online hate towards AFL WAGs. We take a look at Paris Tier and Chloe Pink, who both made headlines this week for speaking out about the barrage of fat-shaming comments they receive online, and a larger look at the way Australian society (particularly men) treat WAGs.  We then review our viewing of the week, starting with Speak No Evil, the American remake of a 2022 Danish thriller/horror about a dream holiday that turns into a living nightmare when an American couple and their daughter spend the weekend at a British family's idyllic country estate. Moving on to documentaries, we discuss Netflix's latest Bad Influence: The Dark Side of Kidfluencing—a look at the rise of Piper Rockelle and how her mother, Tiffany, built a YouTube empire known as ‘The Squad' by exploiting and abusing minors.  Lastly, Caitlin recaps season three of The White Lotus for Danika with a cursed, sped-up synopsis of the latest season with her thoughts on how it faired in comparison to earlier seasons.    Follow us on socials: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thedeluludiariespod TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@thedeluludiariespod Danika's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/danikarbrown Caitlin's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/caitlinsltr   Watch the episode in full on YouTube: https://youtu.be/UqhxjHXUKnY

Welcome to today's sermon podcast, where we delve into a transformative message inspired by the Apostle Paul's words in Ephesians 6:19. As we gather for Family Sunday, we explore the role of children in the church and the significance of the 'Three Wise Monkeys.' Through a unique storytelling approach, we learn the powerful proverb: 'See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil.' As the sermon unfolds, we dive into the profound healing story from the book of John, Chapter 9, where Jesus heals a man blind from birth. Discover the symbolic meanings of spiritual sight and the importance of obedience in faith. This episode challenges us to address our spiritual blindness and to courageously share God's truth, encouraging us to open our eyes, ears, and mouths to His work in our lives. This heartfelt sermon serves as an invitation to embrace a deeper understanding of God's plan through active engagement with His teachings and a loving community. James Watkins has been confirmed as the director for Clayface, DC's upcoming horror-inspired film, scripted by Mike Flanagan. Set for release on September 11, 2026, the movie is described as a horror-thriller-tragedy, focusing on the tragic aspects of Clayface rather than portraying him as a traditional villain.DC co-chiefs James Gunn and Peter Safran are producing alongside The Batman director Matt Reeves, with Chantal Nong as executive producer. With Watkins attached, casting can now begin.Watkins, known for The Woman in Black, Eden Lake, and the recent $76M hit Speak No Evil, brings strong horror credentials to the project. We continue our slate of episodes looking back at the films of 2024 by covering two films at once! SPEAK NO EVIL was a Dutch horror nightmare written and directed by Christian Tafdrup that shook audiences with its bold, horrific narrative in 2022. Last year, James Watkins adapted an American remake starring James McAvoy and Mackenzie Davis that drastically changed the final third of the story and reframed some differing themes. We're joined by friend of the show, writer and director of last year's What You Wish For, Nicholas Tomnay for a thoughtful and insightful discussion of the film's fascinating and complex themes, including our unwillingness to speak up when we're in awe of charismatic figures and our inability to break free from clear and present danger when we're worried about social norms. Also featuring a Patron-only segment where Lackey the Listicle counts down the 8 greatest horror remakes of all time, this is a hearty and fun conversation that we hope you all enjoy.Patron Only Segment: Lackey the Listicle on The Greatest Horror Remakes6:54 - SPEAK NO EVIL (2022 & 2024)See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

We have good news and bad news regarding our newest release, Speak No Evil. The good news: this movie is a creative take on an old topic with a badass protagonist. The bad news: those shirtless promos of James McAvoy were kind of misleading. This movie taught us multiple life lessons (listen to hear them all!), but the most important one is DON'T IGNORE RED FLAGS!!! Paired with a Boss Bitch Spritz. Rate! Review! Follow!
