Sheriff Patti Cole-Tindall has headed up the King County Sheriff’s Department since 2022. The King County Sheriff’s Department serves unincorporated King County and 12 contract cities, in addition to policing King County Metro buses and Sound Transit trains. Since she took over the role, overall crime numbers have been trending in a positive direction – felony referrals were down by a quarter in 2024 compared to 2019. And new data from the King County Prosecutor’s office released this morning says that in the first quarter of 2025, the county saw the lowest number of shots fired incidents since 2021.But Sheriff Cole-Tindall has been sounding the alarm about staffing challenges as King County is facing down a budget shortfall of at least $150 million dollars. Proposed cuts to the sheriff’s department budget total more than 30 million dollars over the next two years. Sheriff Cole-Tindall joined Soundside host Libby Denkmann in-studio today to discuss these issues, and to answer listener questions on public safety, immigration enforcement, homelessness response and more. Branded identity and app-like messaging experiences take center stage in CTO Mike Tindall's product preview ST. PETERSBURG, FL - At Cloud Connections 2025, Mike Tindall, Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Commio, introduced two forward-looking solutions aimed at transforming how businesses engage customers through voice and messaging. Speaking with Doug Green of Technology Reseller News, Tindall discussed Signature Calling, Commio's branded calling product developed within the BCID (Branded Caller ID) ecosystem. Designed to address the increasing problem of spoofed phone calls and diminished customer trust, Signature Calling provides end-to-end identity delivery that authenticates the brand, displays company logos, and optionally explains the reason for the call. "Life is complicated. I like things that are easy." – Mike Tindall, Commio CTO “Phone numbers are ephemeral,” said Tindall. “The real question is: how do you establish identity? That's what BCID and Signature Calling solve for.” Alongside this, Commio unveiled Instant App, a reimagined version of RCS (Rich Communication Services) designed to turn messages into rich, interactive brand experiences within a user's native messaging app. “We call it Instant App because it functions like a complete mobile application, right inside the inbox,” explained Tindall. “It allows brands to offer real-time engagement—like coupons, appointment scheduling, or product offers—at the tap of a button.” Both Signature Calling and Instant App are being soft-launched and will be made available to enterprise customers across a wide range of verticals. Tindall noted that channel partners and managed service providers (MSPs) will play a key role in bringing these solutions to market. “These tools are especially powerful for industries like automotive, HVAC, and retail, where customer engagement and trust are key drivers of repeat business,” said Tindall. “We're excited to empower our partners with this next generation of communications.” To learn more, visit www.commio.com.

Anne Tindall is Special Council at the non-partisan group Protect Democracy, where she works to ensure that elections are free and fair, to prevent political violence, and to secure accountability for abuses of power at the federal and state level. In this episode she joins us to talk about the still unsettled results of North Carolina's Supreme Court election from November, and Republican Jefferson Griffin's attempt to convince the courts to throw out sixty thousand ballots in a race where his challenger, incumbent Allison Riggs, won by just 734 votes. Anne explains what makes this case unique in the history of American elections and why it may set a dangerous precedent that could weaken voting rights for citizens across the country regardless of political party. A world first creative benchmarking study from System1 and JCDecaux has run stacks of Australian Out-of-Home ads through its globally-renowned effectiveness scoring system and drawn a stark conclusion: 70 per cent of outdoor ads fail to move the needle. Andrew Tindall, SVP – Global Partnerships at System1, goes even further: “No-one understands how Out-of-Home works,” he says, particularly the critical need to land the brand within two seconds. At face value, not a wholly positive headline for the medium. But System1 has come up with a formula that, its data strongly suggests, massively improves effectiveness. It’s not rocket science. For example, just placing your logo at the top of an Out-of-Home ad increases brand recognition four times versus a logo parked at the bottom. Likewise be consistent – entertaining and never boring – and keep messaging simple and positive to get much higher brand lift, and ultimately, sales. On that front, Tindall says there is a false divide between brand and performance campaigns: The long, i.e. brand, always drives the short, i.e. performance. The research with JCDecaux, “allows us to add a lot more nuance to what is a very non-nuanced industry” and underlines why brand and demand “need to be brought back a little bit closer together”. Brands nailing Out-of-Home effectiveness locally include Compare the Market with its Meerkats, Uber Eats with the Wiggles and Simon Cowell, Specsavers and Ocean Spray, per Tindall. Sephora’s latest campaign, he says, is one of the highest scoring Out-of-Home ads System1 has ever tested. The bottom line? “The single standout thing for me in this research is it confirms that creative is the make and break of how effective a campaign can be.” Tindall, plus JCDecaux’s Cris Smart and Scott Jenkins, unpack the research’s key findings – and the seven simple steps to massively boost Out-of-Home effectiveness.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
KGMI's Jason Upton speaks with Ben Tindall, Executive Director of Save Family Farming, about the threat that the federal crackdown on immigration is bringing to local farms and their workers.
Since the day it launched as Rebel Interactive in 2013, Rebellion Group has strived to do things differently. “I saw an opportunity to build an agency that was focused around disruption,” Rebellion Group CEO and owner Bryn Tindall told the CBIA BizCast. Tindall and senior vice president of client services Sam Barrett joined the BizCast to highlight the company's evolution and the growth of its Shaping CT's Future event series. The agency works with businesses for services including marketing, advertising, brand awareness, video production, customer engagement, and website development. “If you're going to do great things in life, then you have to believe you have it in you to do it,” Tindall said. “And we were associating the word rebel with that inner essence, that inner belief that you could do amazing things.” The rebel spirit extends not only to the name of the company and the workforce—team members are known as rebels—but also to the physical space. The company themed every room in their Cheshire office after a well known rebel from history or pop culture. “It's an environment that is fun to work in. You feel good when you're in a good place,” said Barrett, who joined the company in 2023 just before they rebranded as Rebellion Group. Tindall said that rebrand was the next evolution of the company. “There's a maturation that occurred,” he said. “So the version of today is a much more grown up version of what started 13 years ago.” “I feel like our aesthetic, the way we talk about ourselves, there's that sense of depth and nuance,” Barrett added. “I think that lends itself to us being in conversations that potentially we weren't in years ago.” Some of those conversations are happening in the form of Rebellion's Shaping CT's Future. The event series brings together stakeholders and thought leaders to dive into different important topics in the state. “We were in a perfect position to start to do something different and meaningful, to affect people's lives, to benefit them,” Tindall said. “We have these organizations pitching in, coming in, willing to lend their thoughts, their time, their expertise, and I think it starts to become a coalition,” Barrett added. In its first year, the series grew from about 90 people to bring in hundreds of people to Rebellion's event space. “I don't think that we produce conferences,” Barrett said. “I like to say that we produce experiences.” “And so we want people to network. We want them to have a drink. We want to have intelligent conversation.” Tindall and Barrett said they are focusing on building on the momentum from their events to develop broader solutions. “There has to be next. We have to be able to have a path forward from here,” Tindall said. The second year of Shaping CT's Future begins with a deep dive into the future of AI and cybersecurity. “We're going to start generating themes, conduct in-depth analysis, and ultimately, recommendations, and that is a tangible product from the event,” Barret said. Rebellion is partnering with GreatBlue Research to capture data from the event. They also partnered with Fox 61 to live stream the event and so a broader audience can take part. “If we can get people in the room that can help inform what's going on with important topics that are influencing business decisions, then our clients can be more successful,” Barrett added. “Ultimately, if Connecticut's more successful then so are we.” Related Links: Rebellion Group Website: https://rebelliongroup.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/rebelliongroup/ Bryn Tindall on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/bryntindall/ Sam Barrett on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/barrettsamuel/ CBIA Website: https://www.cbia.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/cbia/

Bible Reading: Romans 5:6-8; Ephesians 4:20–5:2"Isaac, I need you to go to Aunt Jane's house and give her this book. She needs it for her class tonight." Isaac groaned. He used to like walking to Aunt Jane's house. But now mean Mr. Tindall spent a lot of time in his yard, and he always scowled at Isaac. And recently a new family moved into the neighborhood, and they had a gigantic, growly dog. Isaac usually liked dogs--but not this one.Mom seemed to sense Isaac's thoughts and looked out the window. "No dogs in sight, Isaac. And give Mr. Tindall a chance."Isaac took the book and started up the sidewalk, but sure enough, the growly dog bounded down the driveway. Isaac took off as quickly as he could."What's wrong, Isaac?" Aunt Jane asked when he shot through the door."That--that--dog!" Isaac could hardly breathe. "He's mean!""That's Riley," said Aunt Jane. "He just looks mean. Wait! I have an idea." She went to the kitchen and came back with a handful of dog biscuits. "Here, take some dog biscuits, and when Riley runs out, throw them to him!"Isaac took the biscuits and headed home. Sure enough, the growly dog came running down the driveway. "Here, Riley," Isaac called and tossed him the biscuits. Riley happily chomped away and Isaac hurried the rest of the way home, not even noticing Mr. Tindall's scowl as he walked by."Everything go okay?" Mom asked Isaac when he got home."I guess," said Isaac. "I gave Riley some dog biscuits, so he wasn't growly.""Hmm," said Mom. "Maybe you should try that with Mr. Tindall." "Throw Mr. Tindall dog biscuits?" Isaac asked. "Oh, wait--you mean that maybe if I did something nice for Mr. Tindall, he wouldn't scowl at me anymore." "Exactly," said Mom. "But even if it didn't stop him from scowling, you'd be showing him the love of Jesus. He tells us to be kind to others even when they're not kind to us because He showed us that kind of love by dying for our sins when we were His enemies."The next day, Isaac went back to Aunt Jane's to get the book. But before he went, he grabbed another handful of dog biscuits--and in the other hand he carefully carried a plate of cookies for Mr. Tindall.–Linda Weddle How About You?Do you avoid certain people because you think they're mean? Have you tried showing them kindness instead? Even if they're not nice back to you right away--or ever--God says to show kindness toward everyone because He showed kindness to you by sending Jesus to die for your sins. Show kindness to others and ask God to use it to touch their hearts.Today's Key Verse:And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. Valerie was a 17-year-old girl, living with her family in Arlington, Indiana. Her mom had moved them there, just outside of Indianapolis, to help get her daughter away from violence. During the summer of 2023, Valerie was working a handful of jobs, including helping her neighbor, a 59-year-old man named Patrick Scott, with his lawn care business. The two seemed to have developed a friendship and even when they weren't working, they sometimes spent time together. However, on June 7th, 2023, Valerie went to work that afternoon for Patrick and vanished. After being reported missing, Patrick told police she did not work for him that day, and that he hadn't seen her. He ended up changing his story to say that he WAS with her that day, but that he saw her get into another man's car and drive away. Because he lied to officers, he was initially charged with false informing. Then, on November 28th, a search warrant was executed on his property, and sadly her remains were found in a homemade wooden box made of 2x4s. He was arrested, charged with murder, and quickly confessed to strangling her with his belt. He claims Valerie was trying to blackmail him into buying her a car.
