Joining us today on The Pivot is Laremy Tunsil, one who is no stranger to the spotlight and one of the best left tackles currently in the NFL. Laremy sits down with Ryan, Channing, and Fred to talk about his journey of overcoming adversity since his days at Ole Miss, charity work for single mothers, the truth behind draft night and what he believes will determine his legacy as a NFL player. The Texans are a team that Fred believes arguably had the best night out of all 32 NFL organizations this past offseason. With the addition of #2 overall pick QB CJ Stroud, focus will be on the offensive line more than ever. In 2016, ten minutes before the NFL Draft was set to start, Tunsil's Twitter account was hacked and showed a video of him wearing a gas mask and smoking from a bong. A moment Tunsil considers his biggest pivot thus far, but a moment that forced other teams to pivot and select other players over his projected #1 overall pick. Laremy says this moment was a teachable one but also one that motivated him to give his all to whatever team took a chance on him, which ended up being the Miami Dolphins. Still beloved by Dolphins fans as his trade to Houston resulted in them getting several key players that now make that team a Super Bowl contender in the AFC, Laremy is ready to solidify his legacy not just to be one of the best at his position but to win a championship too. Getting further into the X's and O's, Laremy says that he's excited to see what the Texans can do this year and is dedicated to giving his all to winning the AFC South Championship. As captain of the Texans, Laremy talks about how he supports CJ Stroud and what his encouragement has been to the highly anticipated rookie. Tunsil reassures the guys that CJ will do well and that he has the correct mindset. However, one thing Tunsil isn't sure about, is his legacy career wise if he doesn't win a championship for the Texans. As a result of various controversies including one with Lindsey Miller, his ex-stepfather, Tunsil has been more reserved in terms of developing trusted relationships and allowing new people into his life. Two of those individuals who have remained through his corner through it all have been his mother and brother. Motivated by his mother's support and loyalty, every year he makes it his mission to help single mothers within the community. This week on the Frotcast, we've got Brendan and Matt Lieb in the Frotquarters, with "Film Critic" author Laremy Legel joining us via Skype. We open the show talking about how we're going to talk about The Raid, and the difference between Silat and Muay Thai. Matt Lieb talks about his bar fighting experiences (mostly theoretical) and that somehow leads us into a discussion of Pumping Iron, and Brendan's dead-on Lou Ferrigno impression. Lou Ferrigno's gullibility leads us into a discussion of sales tactics and pick-up tactics aimed at the dumbest people around that just end up working because so many people are so dumb. That somehow leads us to the couple who took professional photos with their stillborn baby, which naturally leads to some thoroughly dark dead baby humor. We talk some about The Raid remake, Taylor Kitcsh, Oliver Stone, and Kid Rock's strangely well-written letter in the Juggalo sexual harassment lawsuit case. Eventually we get to the famous troll article "Idiocracy is a Cruel Movie And You Should Be Ashamed For Liking It," which makes everyone groan lots. After that, we bring on Laremy, and we talk about The Raid, and Kenneth Turan's LA Times piece, "Kenneith Turan takes a critic's lonely stand on 'Boyhood.'" That of course leads us to discuss some of the courageous stands that *we* have taken in film criticism. I don't want to use the word "hero," but... Enjoy!Enjoy!
Comedian Alison Stevenson and our old pal Bret join us in the Frotquarters this week for the most fun Frotcast we've had in a while. We cover a lot of topics because we're drinking, from the best of Alison's online dating pick-up lines, to Laremy reading the meanest comments on his Clint Eastwood article. We open with Alison reading us her creepiest messages, then transition into a local news story about an angry motorcycler and the inherent smarm of local news. We answer a reader question about girls and whether they can poop without peeing. Alison talks 'Obvious Child,' and then we bring on Laremy to read his most hateful comments. He also saw Jersey Boys, so we get Laremy's review of Jersey Boys as well as a discussion of the last decade of Eastwood films. We talk about internet commenting in general, get briefly into Zach Braff's movie, talk about why older film critics go crazy, and EVERONE. GETS. LAID. Enjoy.
Comedian OJ Patterson and Film.com's Laremy Legel join the FilmDrunk frotcrew to talk about Godzilla, a little about X-Men: Days of Future Past, and Casablanca, for our throwback title of the week. Laremy offers the top 10 reasons his Kickstarter project did not get funded :-(. Bret even joins us to give us an update on Bret! Exciting times!
Former NBA player Paul Shirley joins us at the top of the frot this week to talk about Donald Sterling and all the actual racist stuff he's done vs. the weird stuff he said to his mistress that he actually got in trouble for. Questions include: is falling all over yourself to condemn him a case of thou dost protest too much? And is it better to have honest racists or racists who are smart enough to censor themselves? After that, we talk about the "botched" execution and the idea of cognitive dissonance in general, and then we get a visit from Ben, live from Thailand. He tells us about partying with monkeys and the beach where they shot The Beach, and we wrap things up with Film.com's Laremy Legel on the subject of Short Term 12. Oh, and Matt Lieb finally comes clean about what it is about quicksand porn that he finds so hot. Enjoy.
200 Frotcasts! We celebrate with Film.com's Laremy Legel, who joins at the top top of the frot to read us his latest list and talk about Transcendence, which he also thought was much better than its 19% RT recommended rating would indicate. We answer a few of your reader questions about comedy and anal, and Ben calls us direct from Thailand (KaplanVisuals.com, if you're wondering what he's been up to). Then we bring on everyone's favorite glib lesbian, Heather. She tells us about teaching writing at a prison, working as a mad scientist for children's parties, and what it's like being known around Brooklyn as "the lesbian who hates sex."

Then we bring Laremy on, first so he can defend and explain his Madden obsession. Then we talk about the Robocop remake, which Bret hated and Ben liked (shocking). We unfortunately lost Bret toward the end (apologies for the technical difficulties) and finish up talking about Laremy's trip to Nawlins. Thanks for listening.Frot on and Frotstrong!
Bret, Laremy, and Vince on this early holiday episode. We open the show talking about heckler stories, including Vince's recent experience with the drunk girl at the dueling piano bar who kicked the piano man in the face. We lead into Spike Lee's Oldboy remake (full review forthcoming) and the idea of remakes in general. Based on Sharlto Copley in Oldboy and Jodie Foster in Elysium, we discuss the most ill-advised acting performances of this year, and of all time. We talk about Only God Forgives and misanthropic directors, and promos for network TV shows that are so ridiculous they feel like SNL sketches. We wrap it up with your emails about dates gone wrong, horrible break-ups, job troubles, church, existential buffoons, and dominatrices.
