I'm thrilled to have my colleague and co-coach in both our Unbounded and Emerge Masterminds, Laura Kline-Taylor, join me again today on The Prosperous Empath® to talk about the idea of selling vs. enrollment. If you've listened to the podcast before, you know that I'm a big fan of enrollment where, as a coach, I am committed to helping my clients cultivate self-belief to become who they want and fully trust themselves in the process (and this includes in trusting themselves to choose the best fit coaches and consultants for them vs. being sold on who and why they need to hire someone). This is often the opposite of some coaches and most consultants who are selling you on your own pain points – it's more transactional than an ongoing co-creation. Laura and I share experiences where we've been sold a service and compare those to times that we've been enrolled in a service. If you're a heart-centered coach who is an empath or HSP, this episode will give you a new way to share the transformation that you can provide and call in aligned clients without any of the ick. Remember, cultivating self-belief is an ongoing process, but it is 100% possible to not only charge competitive rates, but be confident in sharing your services and prices, too. Topics: How Laura and Catherine define sales (transactional exchange) vs. enrollment (an ongoing co-creation) The art form of enrollment and how skilled coaches are consistently enrolling their clients in their own self-belief and self-leadership Defining a “coach-sultant” and how they're often enrolled more in the problem than the future and how this blocks expansion Enrolling in your own possibility to create an aligned business strategy and achieving sustainable success How being enrolled in yourself will help you create what you want in an organic way and therefore create more of a transformation for their clients The different ways that you can actually grow your own self-belief to feel more in touch with your offerings Laura and Catherine's favorite practices when it comes to enrolling others in their work Episode Resources: Past episode with Laura: The Possibilities of Cycle Tracking for Your Business and Life Past episode with Laura: The Impact of Your Relationships on Business Success Join us on March 11th at 12pm ET for our monthly Non-Networking Power Hour for Empath Entrepreneurs with our UNBOUNDED Mastermind Community for deep connections and meaningful support. There's a quote that I love: “The quality of our success in business is only as good as the quality of our relationships.” This especially rings true for those of us who identify as ambitious empaths because we naturally prioritize the relationships with individuals in our lives. For me, so many of my clients have become friends and that is so true for today's guest on the podcast, Laura Kline-Taylor. Laura's been on the podcast before to chat about cycle tracking, but today we are sharing more about our relationship as client-coach, colleagues, and now co-coach. Laura works deeply in our newest offering, the Emerge Mastermind, so I wanted to have her on the show today so you can get to know her deeper and have a felt sense of how we can collaborate together. This episode will also help you to identify who you can strategically trust to offload some of your work to. I hope it resonates! We've talked a lot on the show about the role that the brain plays in determining performance in endurance events, but we haven't talked so much about how we can actually modify the brain's response to physical stress in order to improve our performance. In part, that's because this is a very difficult thing to practically address. Sun Sachs is here to change that. Sun is the co-founder of ReWire Cycling, a tech startup that is aiming to bring “brain training” to the endurance sport masses. Sun joined us in the Pain Cave last month to talk about how is background in cycling helped develop his interest in the mental side of the sport, the work of Samuel Marcora, the lowdown on “response inhibition training” and how he and his partner developed the app that may change how we view mental training for endurance athletes. Then, we welcomed back the great Laura Kline (32:30) to talk about her experience as a beta tester for the app, the changes she's noticed in her performance, and more.ReWire Cycling just launched a Kickstarter campaign to help secure funding for mass production of the app and the device we talked about here. If this campaign is successful, we may see this come to market in early 2020. Check out the links below and consider supporting them!LinksOur interview with Alex Hutchinson, where we talked a bunch about Marcora and brain training (and Alex's excellent book)ReWire CyclingThe Kickstarter campaignLaura's website and her blog post from her most recent race, where she says she drew on the mental training she'd practiced with the appOur last interview with LauraIntro music: "Fine Line" by the BloodlettersOutro music: "When I Was Still Young" by Yard Sale
For the fourth straight year, I'm both thrilled and appalled at being asked to vote for Ultrarunning Magazine's Ultrarunner of the Year…and for the second straight year, I've asked one of my toughest critics to join me on the show to tell me how badly I'm screwing it up. This time, we did it early enough that I could actually make a few changes to the ballot! Upstate NY ultra stud Jason Mintz enters the Pain Cave to discuss our choices for the top 10 men and women of the year, top five performances of the year, the difficulty of weighing performances in overseas races, how much DNFs should count against you, and more. In our year-end, non-science-related episode, we delve into the ballot for Ultrarunner of the Year. I welcome in my good friend Laura Kline to debate who should make the mens' and womens' top 10 ultrarunners of the year, and the five best male and female performances of the year. We also discuss whether DNFs should count more than DNSs, why we grade certain runners on a curve, the importance of big international races, and our toughest omissions. Thanks to Ultrarunning magazine for sponsoring this episode.Links: http://laurajkline.comhttp://ultrarunningmagazine.comIntro Music: "Fine Line" by the BloodlettersOutro Music: "When I Was Still Young" by Yard Sale
