Another week and boy is there a lot of news to get to! After some pleasantries exchanged about how everyone spent their weekend, Sekeres dives into the Welcome Matt, which unpacks the Jake Virtanen allegations, Nikita Tryamkin sticking in the KHL, and just how much of a disaster this season has been for the Canucks organization on and off the ice. Patrick Johnston from The Province joins next and begins by stating what he’s been hearing about the sexual misconduct allegations Virtanen has been accused of. PJ feels that this is the end of Virtanen’s time with the organization, while also questioning how the team handled the release on the Virtanen news, wondering why no one from the management side or ownership spoke on the allegations. The interview wraps with PJ’s thoughts on Tryamkin signing back in the KHL. Our Monday NHL insider John Shannon follows Hashtags - the best and worst of Twitter, and lets us in on what he’s been hearing from the NHL in regard to the Virtanen investigation. John also suggests that all the teams in the league will play out their seasons, as it will cost money for the games not to be played. The Price is Right looks at the lack of playoff races in all of the divisions in the NHL. Jeff Paterson joins for his daily hit and begins by stating that he thinks the Virtanen’s days as a Vancouver Canuck are over. J Pat also goes over just how dire things are getting for the Canucks forward group, who now have eight players upfront that are on the injury list, and why he thinks that Tryamkin’s decision to stay in Russia has nothing to do with the Canucks current coaching staff. We play Memo To on a Monday and wrap up the show with all the Errors and Omissions. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Rick Dhaliwal says a flat salary cap means the Canucks will likely lose two of Tanev, Toffoli, and Markstrom, and it also very much affects bringing in Nikita Tryamkin. Dhaliwal says to pump the brakes a bit on Ferland's availability for the play-in. He's symptom-free, but it's a long ways to go

Andrew Wadden & Rick Dhaliwal bring you another edition of Rink Wide on TSN1040, talking all things hockey with an emphasis on the Canucks ahead of their Saturday night tilt with San Jose. The guys go around the league with the hottest stories from the past week including: Kassian vs Tkachuk, Nikita Tryamkin coming back, and much more.
Hockey player agent Todd Diamond joined Rink Wide on TSN1040 to discuss his client Nikita Tryamkin, in terms of a potential return to the Canucks after this season in Russia, and gives a status update on how his game has progressed.
Nikita Tryamkin’s agent Todd Diamond says the last time around, the Russian thought he should have gotten a longer look, more playing time, especially towards the end of the year. If Tryamkin was to return to the Canucks, Todd says the defenceman would want to sit down with Travis Green to discuss what his role would be and where he’d fit in with this Canucks roster.
Kevin Woodley gets the impression the Canucks are willing to move down from the 10th overall pick, if they feel players will be available further on. Kevin also disputes any notion that Nikita Tryamkin will be a game-changer if he returns, seeing Tryamkin as a third-pair d-man

It's beautiful in Vancouver. We've moved outdoors to podcast as we enter the limbo between the Stanley Cup and the NHL Draft and surprise surprise, the Montreal Canadiens made a questionable trade again! Geeta, Dave and Ryan join you this week from the palatial estate's balcony and start the show right off the bat talking about the Max Domi/Alex Galchenyuk trade. What were the Montreal Canadiens looking for exactly? Why let a 30 goal scorer (at one time or another) go for a guy that scored nine goals last year, and four of them were empty netters. They also ask the tough question: Is Carey Price wasting his prime years in Montreal? Would the media and hockey fans scoff at him if he requested a trade? Or would he be applauded for the chance to play for a contender? They also discuss the Karlsson/Hoffman peace bond in Ottawa. After some absolutely awful, disgusting cyberbullying, allegations have been made towards Hoffman's partner. Will Mike Hoffman be dealt? Will Erik Karlsson? What do they need to do to figure out how to properly run a hockey team in Ottawa? They also talk about the Vancouver Canucks. Nikita Tryamkin's positive words regarding the chance of a comeback and much more! Listen to this week's 5 Minutes for Paying for our $5+ Patreon backers. Ryan discusses attending a woodland orgy. This week in anguish: - It's the goalies' and defencemen's turns to get called to the carpet and receive their inviolable, unbiased interim grades from Ardella and Tristan - In short: we love Troy Stecher and will seek out whatever stats we need to buttress that affection - We don't know what we got in the Tan-Man til he's gone - We're ready for the Gudbranson era to come to an end in Vancouver, but are a bit sad to see the back of Mr. Jordan Subban - Tristan rolls out the красный carpet for the eventual return of Nikita Tryamkin Thanks for listening! Mike and Jason talk with the Province's Ben Kuzma about Nikita Tryamkin's Russian interview, what Reid Boucher being placed on waivers means for the line-up, and if he has Jake Virtanen making the opening night roster.
Dave Tomlinson weighs in on Nikita Tryamkin's departure.
Antoine Vermette wasn't happy with how the puck was being dropped, so he told the linesman in the worst possible way! Ryan Dave and Geeta join you this week to discuss the mandatory 10 game suspension for Anaheim's Vermette after a very odd situation last week vs Minnesota. Is the mandatory warranted? Or should it be reduced? Ryan talks about going to the Canucks game vs. Calgary, watching Nikita Tryamkin hopping over the boards and how the Calgary Flames jerseys are the ugliest in the league, almost as ugly as that long goal Edler put past Brian Elliott. They also discuss career minor leaguer Colin Chaulk's unfortunate jersey retirement ceremony in Fort Wayne, discuss Jake Virtanen's development in Utica and whether Brock Boeser can find his way into a Canucks jersey next month... or a Comets jersey? The gang also discusses Ryan Johansen's pissy return to Columbus and how he was upset there was no 'welcome home' feature on the jumbrotron. They also discuss the Montreal Canadiens' "window" to win the Stanley Cup, or lack there of and whether it's a good idea to sell the farm or not to try and win it all this year. Keep listening on www.patreon.com/pucksonnet for the continuation of the show in '5 Minutes For Paying' Enjoy!
The NHL All-Star game has come and gone, it was slow and boring and nobody seemed to enjoy themselves! But Don Cherry likes Justin Bieber's back checking, so there's that. Ryan, Geeta, Dave and his visiting sister Jennifer are on the bench this week. They discuss the aftermath of the 2017 NHL All-Star Game in Los Angeles, Snoop Dogg's F-Bombs, Justin Bieber's run in with Chris Pronger and the pageantry of the game itself. They also play Don Cherry's very accurate comments on the game's calibre of play during a rather lively Coach's Corner. Don didn't care for the action and neither did most watching at home. Ryan provides side by side comparisons of how the game was broadcasted to in Canada and the United States as well. They also discuss the NHL 100, the 100 best NHL players of the past 100 years, all the current Chicago Blackhawks and the snubs of active players. Jarome Iginla and Gino Malkin quickly come to mind. The Vancouver Canucks embarrassing 3-0 loss to Arizona is also discussed. From the Canucks setting a new NHL record for longest amount of play without a shot, to their plans at the trade deadline, things look bleak for Vancouver. Will they head down to Colorado and start buying? There's also some mad Nikita Tryamkin praise and some concern for the New York Islanders, who come the 2018-19 NHL season, will be homeless as the Barclay's Center has had enough! Enjoy!
(If the homies can't have none) In this case, it ain't fun that Tryamkin don't want none (of a Utica Comets Roster Spot) Dave, P Mac and Ryan get together this week to talk about the podcast's stance on fancy stats, their thoughts on the analytics and why the show is formatted the way it is. They move on to Brian Elliot's rough start with the Calgary Flames. Until Monday's shootout win against Chicago, he was winless in 3 with a GAA over 4 and a SV% under .900 ... basically Tom Barrasso numbers. The gang talks about the Canucks' injury troubles, their rough weekend in California and their new problems with Nikita Tryamkin. What will the Canucks brass do? Will they convince the Russian giant to play in Utica? Or will he return to the KHL? They also look at Ryan Miller and whether he's on the move while goalie injuries plague the NHL. They also compare the starts to the season for PK Subban and Shea Weber and more particularly, their plus/minus ratings. The gang also talk about the 2016 Heritage Classic in Winnipeg and take a look at the lead blowing Toronto Maple Leafs! Ryan provides a smug update on Jared McCann's season totals in Florida and is concerned he's not funny on the podcast. Is he? Enjoy!
The lazy dog days of the NHL regular season are here. Contenders are resting up, tank teams are putting their better players down with "injuries" to preserve them for summer hockey or as a precaution. Dave, Geeta and Ryan join you this week to talk about the Canucks' weak defence going into the end of the season, the absolute positives of Nikita Tryamkin and Dan Hamhuis taking everybody's little brother, Ben Hutton, under his wing. They look at Duncan Keith's latest suspension for a dangerous slash on Charlie Coyle, whether he deserved more and what will happen to the Blackhawks in the post-season. Could their deadline tinkering cause for a stinkering? Another podcast, another week of slagging Nazem Kadri, who was both fined for embellishment AND cross checked a Red Wing in the head on Hockey Night in Canada. Finally, the gang looks at the Oilers moving to Rexall and Ryan's trip to Prince Albert to cover the Raiders' early playoff exit! Enjoy!
