Flying So Low(Fi) 04/01/25With Jordan otherwise occupied and Jeff busy on a work trip, today's offering is truly a solo dispatch, cobbled together from iPhone recordings and found musical pieces from old episodes. In short, a humbling final push to the big 250th episode, featuring Josh Yohe and coming at you tomorrow from the studio.Disclaimer: The audio quality of the majority of this episode is pretty darned poor. Traveling for work meant no way to get into an isolated space, so Jeff recorded this one (literally) out in the streets of Jersey City. Mr. Consistent: Sidney Crosby Grabs Gretzky's NHL Point-Per-Game Record! 03/27/25With an original working title of ‘Passenger Princess,' production/release of this episode was delayed until close to the start of this evening's road game versus the Sabres. And wouldn't ya know it? Just as I sat down to knock out the edit and get this one posted, Sidney Crosby does what he does best: Contribute to his team's offense. It was a beautiful goal, featuring many of Crosby's best attributes as an athlete and a teammate: On-ice awareness, positional intelligence, and a practiced ability to have quick hands, even from tough angles. The puck ended up on Sid's stick as he floated to the net front, and even though it was in-tight to his body, the captain managed to get a super-fast shot off, beating Billy Reimer high on the glove-side. Just incredible. From us here at Fly Penguins Fly Podcast: Congratulations to Sidney Crosby on a monumental achievement, as he passes Wayne Gretzky to possess the longest-ever season streak of point-per-game play in the NHL.Thanks to Espresso A Mano, Pittsburgh's finest coffee roasters and cafe, for partnering with Fly Penguins Fly podcast. Jason and Frank are back with a fresh edition of the podcast, in which they put a bow on their trade deadline coverage by grading what all the sellers did last Friday. Frank kicked things off with a spicy take and gave which trade he thinks could be this year's version of the infamous Filip Forsberg for Martin Erat trade. From there, they talked about how they felt teams like the Penguins, Bruins, and Sharks did when it came to selling off assets. They also hit on the New Jersey Devils, who became ‘soft buyers' with the injury to Jack Hughes. The guys talked about whether or not they should have sold off.The conversation about the Sharks eventually turned into a Connor Bedard vs Macklin Celebrini comparison as Gregor talked about the overuse of the ‘generational' title and Frank talked about Bedard's path to having a MacKinnon-esque career. They also talked about the Seattle Kraken and Philadelphia Flyers, who both sold off some assets on Friday, before quickly talking about two teams out West that stood still during the deadline period but still find themselves right in the middle of the playoff race.Tyler Yaremchuk then popped in for a new edition of Fill in the Blank, brought to you by Bet365. The Edmonton Oilers continue their four-game road trip tonight with a matchup against the New Jersey Devils, looking to put Monday's embarrassing 3-2 loss to the Buffalo Sabres behind them. The Oilers have struggled for a few weeks now, and with the playoffs fast approaching, they need to find their game—starting tonight. Fortunately, they'll face a Devils team missing their superstar Jack Hughes, who has been ruled out for the remainder of the season. The big story heading into this one is Jeff Skinner's promotion to the second line alongside Leon Draisaitl and Viktor Arvidsson. With the Oilers' offensive production dipping in recent weeks, Skinner will be asked to provide a much-needed spark in the top six. Will this adjustment help Edmonton find the firepower they've been missing?Another major question mark for the Oilers is goaltending. Stuart Skinner has struggled since returning from the 4 Nations Faceoff break, and with a shaky Oilers defense in front of him, they'll need a big performance from their starter to walk away with two points. Can he step up and deliver a signature win on the road? We'll go through all our game day essentials, including the latest lineup report, game notes, and our Sherwood Ford Giant Question. Plus, we'll close things out with our Gameday Bet365 Betting Challenge, breaking down the best value plays for tonight's matchup.Tune in as we get you set for a crucial game in New Jersey!Website: https://oilersnation.com/ https://twitter.com/OilersNation/ https://www.youtube.com/@Oilersnationdotcom/ https://www.facebook.com/OilersNation/https://www.instagram.com/oilersnationdotcomhttps://www.tiktok.com/@oilersnation SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!

Jason Gregor and Frank Seravalli did a special LIVE Trade Deadline preview to get ready for what should be a wild 24 hours around the NHL. As we approach deadline day, there is a new number one on Frank's Trade Targets board as Mikko Rantanen has rocketed up the board. Where could he land? Will the Hurricanes even move him? The guys gave their takes. From there, they talked about what the New Jersey Devils could do now that they'll be without Jack Hughes for the remainder of the regular season and playoffs. Some thought it could lead to them being sellers, but Frank threw cold water on that idea. They also talked about the series of trades we saw yesterday which included the Tampa Bay Lightning making another massive splash and the Pittsburgh Penguins making a puzzling trade with the Nashville Predators. Could Pittsburgh flip the assets that they got?Tyler then popped on for a special edition of Fill in the Blank that was fueled solely by questions from the live chat. They talked about a potential deal between the Avs and Flames, what the Blue Jackets could get up to, and the chances of Brock Nelson heading to Winnipeg. To wrap, they went through some Western Conference teams that could make some noise in the next 24 hours. What could teams like the Oilers and Wild get up to? The FAN Morning Show hits the airwaves on Thursday with reaction to the Maple Leafs being blown out in Vegas by the Golden Knights. Ben Ennis and Brent Gunning discuss if it's was a wake up call for Toronto on the NHL's trade deadline eve. They look at where the team was lacking and especially focus on in between the pipes where Joseph Woll got beat early and often which led to him being pulled. The hosts debate if this ends the timeshare between Toronto's tandem and brings the discussion of who is their "go-to guy”. B&B also look at the Matthew Knies dropping the mitts early in the game, how it didn't lead to much momentum for his team and if him doing that had anything to do with the upcoming deadline Friday. In the backend of the hour, the boys look at the teams that have made moves already, most notably Tampa and Penguins, who pulled the trigger on deals yesterday. They also look at Jack Hughes' season ending injury and where that leaves Sheldon Keefe and the Devils ahead of the deadline.
