Welcome to a crossover episode with our good friend, Dr. Justin Bailey, who hosts the In All Things podcast. Justin reached out to us, because he wanted to interview Dave about his book, which is out now! We agreed, and what you have before you today is a special episode all about the book. Justin, Abby, and Matt ask Dave about his motivations for writing the book, the content, the approach, and really the heart of it all: developing an imagination for teaching “Christianly.” Dave's book, Always Becoming, Never Arriving: Developing an Imagination for Teaching Christianly is available now. You can find it on Amazon and Bookshop.org! This week, Dr. Justin Bailey, a professor of theology at Dordt, continues this semester's chapel series with a message on “The Two Builders.”
The San Jose Barracuda (11-6-0-0) squandered a 3-0 lead on Friday at Tech CU Arena, before scoring a pair of goals in the last five minutes to upend the Abbotsford Canucks (10-9-0-1), 5-3. With the win, the Barracuda now boast the Pacific Division's best home record at 7-2. Captain Jimmy Schuldt finished the game with a career-best three assists and Lucas Vanroboys notched his first two-goal game. Filip Bystedt (1+1=2), Scott Sabourin (1+1=2), Justin Bailey (1+1=2), and Shakir Mukhamadullin (0+2=2) also finished with multiple points.
This week, Justin Bailey reflects on the parable of the “Laborers in the Vineyard.”
Chief Justin Bailey is a 25+ year “student of the Fire Service. He is the Fire Chief with the Oliver Springs (TN) Fire Dept. and a Captain/Medic with the Knoxville (TN) Fire Department, where he has been serving since 2007 and currently assigned to Engine 1. His career began in 1999 as a Junior Firefighter/Explorer with the Oliver Springs Fire Dept. He is a part-time fire instructor with the State of Tennessee Fire Service and Codes Enforcement Academy, delivering classroom and hands-on instruction in various topics on-campus, at regional fire conferences, and at various local fire departments throughout Tennessee. He has instructed nationally on the topics of volunteer training program development, professional development and rural fireground management, having presented at both FDIC and Firehouse Expo. Chief Bailey has an Associate's Degree in Allied Health Science from Roane State Community College and a Bachelor's Degree in Fire Administration from Columbia Southern University. ********************In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, we have learned that nearly a dozen firefighters lost their lives as they tried to effect rescues and saved pets. In the face of the hurricane, no one waved or had to think twice. They new their duty was to save anyone and everyone they could. Hurricane Helene has been rated the worst hurricane since Katrina! And we all know how that turned out. We are researching the news articles to determine who these brave men and women are and what we can do to help. Please remember - these brave firefighters, who worked around the clock in preparation of the storm, know that performing their duties in and after this storm was not going to be easy. PLEASE!!! We need your help! Please remember that we need your help to raise the funds we use to financially help a Brother/Sister and or their families, when they are in dire need. Since 2020, we have donated nearly $7,000.00 to our Brothers and Sisters. We can only do that with your help. Please visit our homepage at https://www.5-AlarmTaskForceCorp.org and scroll down to the photo of the E2QB siren. Select the photo and our donation page will appear. From $1.00 to whatever you can, any amount will help us. And you can always reach us at Dalmatprod@Outlook.com

Send me a text! I'd love to know what you're thinking!Markus Watson and Tod Bolsinger engage in a discerning conversation about the leadership and mission implications of the idea that God is already pesent in every culture. They consider the respect and humility required when entering new cultures and relationships, especially with the understanding that God's presence and work precede us. Through personal stories and theological insights, they explore the posture of listening and joining in what God is already doing, rather than imposing our preconceptions.Tod Bolsinger and Markus Watson discuss this quote from Justin Bailey in Episode 173, The Art of Interpreting Culture:“You never go to another culture where God is not already present and at work.”THIS EPISODE'S HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:God actively engages in all cultures even before we arrive, as highlighted by Justin Bailey's insight that one never enters a culture where God isn't already present and working.Leaders enhance their missions by respectfully listening first, acknowledging God's presence in every context, as emphasized by Tod Bolsinger's agreement with Justin Bailey.Christian engagement with others thrives when it begins with humility and recognition of God's preexisting activity, instead of approaching with a colonial mindset of bringing God to an empty space.Spiritual encounters flourish when the approach is invitational and inclusive, as demonstrated by Markus Watson's open communion table welcoming all individuals to participate.Adaptive leadership calls for joining in what God is already doing within a community, rather than imposing a preconceived agenda, thus resonating with an organic and responsive mode of spiritual leadership.Did you know Spiritual Life and Leadership has been named the #1 Spiritual Leadership Podcast by the Feedspot Podcasters Database? The Sharks would play an effective if yet uninspired sort of play for the first 40 minutes of play. The Wings would strike first with a goal, but Zetterlund would continue his impressive offensive play with a goal of his own to end the first. Justin Bailey would tally for the Sharks to draw them even 2 a piece at the conclusion of the 2nd period. In the 3 period Barabonov would score his second of the season to give the Sharks a short lived 91 second lead. The Wings would score 3 un-answered goals and leave the sharks looking for answers on how to solve the 9 game losing streak. Landi and Felix would cover this latest loss and how the team goes from here. Teal Town USA - A San Jose Sharks' post-game podcast, for the fans, by the fans! The Sharks would start off on a hot note in the first period with Justin Bailey scoring nine minuets in to give the Sharks a 1-0 lead. However the Jets would score with a little more than 4 minuets left in the 1st period. The second period became a little tighter checking affair with neither team able to capitalize on special teams opportunities. Finally in the third period with a 5 minuets left William Eklund would score the winning goal on great snap shot at the face off dot. The Sharks would hang on for the win, giving Landi and Mark some great questions on the future of the team. Teal Town USA - A San Jose Sharks' post-game podcast, for the fans, by the fans!
