Show Notes The pandemic accelerated the need for people to have access to care when they couldn't get it in person. That acceleration of comfort and awareness catapulted our category into a completely different stage. And it's been really a privilege to be able to serve so many in a time of heightened need. —Sam Bergin How 98point6 Differentiates Itself Against Other Telehealth Solutions Address the friction in the market—98point6 is not traditional telehealth Talk about the elephant in the room—less than half of millennials have a relationship with a primary care physician. Navvis, a St. Louis-based population health company, and SSM Health, a nearly $8 billion health system in the Midwest, announced a holistic, data-driven, and consumer-focused partnership last year to design and operate a new value-based care delivery model. In this episode of the Oliver Wyman Health Podcast, Bryce Bach, Principal in Oliver Wyman's Health & Life Sciences Practice, sat down with Mike Farris, Navvis' Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, and Carter Dredge, SSM Health's Chief Transformation Officer, at the Oliver Wyman Health Innovation Summit in Chicago to learn more about their challenges and lessons so far. Check out part 1 here: https://health.oliverwyman.com/2019/11/podcast--navvis-and-ssm-health-s-partnership-.html More From This Episode: -- [Carter] "It's a misnomer for health systems to say, 'I'm just going to wait until 60 percent of my business is in risk until I change.' The reality is, if you're any system of any material size, no one is just going to give you that much risk right out of the gate. You've got to figure out how to identify problems for specific populations and fix them." -- [Mike] "You've got to do your diligence upfront. You've got to frame the risk. If you don't move, you've got to have a path ahead where you know where the pockets of value are that you're going to go after and can create a funding pool for re-investment. So innovation becomes self-sustaining." -- [Carter] "There is a latent opportunity in the front line when it comes to our experts. They know how to do a lot of our work way better than we do. We just need to give them a forum so they can see how [our vision] translates to patients. And if we can do that, look out. I literally see a day when we will be chasing to catch up with our front line." How can we improve eye tracking for a more accurate assessment of someone's neurocognitive function? What is someone's likelihood of developing dementia? What's the best treatment for patients with substance abuse disorder or depression that effectively engages them in treating their conditions? The relatively new field of digital treatments and diagnostics offers valuable answers to critical medical questions such as these. It's a space where the healthcare industry is currently on the leading edge of change, moving from what was once mere theory and conjecture to rapid change and adoption as these types of technologies become more readily available. In this episode, three healthcare leaders — David Benshoof Klein, Executive Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer at Click Therapeutics, Laura Yecies, former Chief Executive Officer at SyncThink, and Trip Hofer, Chief Executive Officer at AbleTo — explore with host Fritz Heese, a Health & Life Sciences Partner at Oliver Wyman, at the 2019 Oliver Wyman Health Innovation Summit in Chicago why digital therapeutics are on the cusp of becoming mainstream and what specific problems digital treatments may solve within the next five years. When you think about who typically uses online patient portals, maybe Millennials first come to mind. Well, approximately 15 percent of patients in their 100s and 20 percent of patients in their 90s are registered, active users on Privia Health’s online patient portal. Their biggest cohort? (No, not Millennials.) Baby Boomers. "I'd just never thought about that," says Shawn Morris, Privia Health's Chief Executive Officer and a speaker at this month's Oliver Wyman Health Innovation Summit. "It blew me away."
