This episode covers: • Real Food Reset in U.S. Dietary Policy The new Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2025–2030 put real food back at the center of U.S. nutrition policy and take a direct swing at ultra processed foods, added sugar, and sugary drinks. Dave breaks down why this matters beyond personal dieting: these guidelines influence school meals, SNAP and WIC, federal feeding programs, and they shape what eventually shows up on labels and in public institutions. He also shares how biohackers can use this shift as leverage to push for better food environments in schools, workplaces, and hospitals. -Source: https://www.usda.gov/about-usda/news/press-releases/2026/01/07/kennedy-rollins-unveil-historic-reset-us-nutrition-policy-put-real-food-back-center-health • Drug Combo Extends Lifespan of Frail Old Mice by 73% A new aging study found that combining oxytocin with a compound called A5i extended the remaining lifespan of frail elderly male mice by 73%, while also improving function and tissue health. Dave explains why this is a big signal for the future of longevity medicine: stacking targeted interventions can outperform single compounds, especially when you start late in life. He also explains what to do with the idea right now: stop building random “everything stacks” and start thinking in phases, tracking outcomes, and waiting for real human combo data. -Source: https://www.futura-sciences.com/en/study-finds-drug-combo-could-slow-aging-and-increase-lifespan-by-73_23229/ • ChatGPT Health Turns Your Data Into a Health OS OpenAI launched ChatGPT Health, a dedicated health experience that lets you securely connect medical records and wellness apps like Apple Health and MyFitnessPal, so you can summarize visits, interpret labs, and prepare better questions for your doctor. Dave explains why this is a turning point for quantified self and protocol building: it reduces the friction of pulling data from five different places, and it makes pattern-finding accessible to nontechnical people. He also shares how to use it like a pro: clean inputs, smarter questions, and better doctor conversations. -Source: https://openai.com/index/introducing-chatgpt-health/ • Whole Milk Is Back in Schools The Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act restores whole and reduced-fat milk options in schools, aligning school nutrition rules with the updated dietary guidelines that no longer treat full-fat dairy like a default villain. Dave breaks down why this matters for child healthspan: satiety and nutrient density drive behavior, learning, and metabolic stability. He also explains why this is a real-world policy experiment worth watching across school districts, and how it can open the door for bigger institutional upgrades like better protein and fewer ultra processed items. -Source: https://www.usda.gov/about-usda/news/press-releases/2026/01/14/whole-milk-back-president-trump-signs-whole-milk-healthy-kids-act • Tirzepatide Trial Targets Biological Age With Aging Clocks A registered clinical trial titled Tirzepatide to Slow Biological Aging is using multiple DNA methylation aging clocks as primary endpoints, along with functional metrics like grip strength and a 6-minute walk test. Dave explains why this is a big maturity step for longevity science: instead of assuming metabolic improvement equals slower aging, this study is measuring biological age directly, across multiple clocks, with performance outcomes. He also shares the practical lesson for biohackers: stop relying on one favorite metric and start thinking in panels, function, and durability of results. -Source: https://clinicaltrials.gov/study/NCT07220473 All source links provided for direct access to the original research and reporting. This episode is designed for biohackers, longevity seekers, and high-performance listeners who want practical strategies rooted in cutting-edge science. Host Dave Asprey translates emerging research into actionable upgrades for your biology, from metabolism and food policy to AI-driven tracking, institutional nutrition, and biological aging measurement. What if you could see your inflammation—and your pace of aging—from your kitchen table? We sit down with Bob Messerschmidt, an optical engineer turned Apple platform architect who helped seed Apple Health and the Apple Watch, then left to build a simple at-home device that measures ESR, a century‑old inflammation marker with fresh relevance for longevity. We unpack why chronic inflammation drives heart disease, stroke, neurodegeneration, and metabolic dysfunction, and why a single, trackable number can change behavior more than any abstract advice. You'll hear a clear breakdown of ESR vs CRP: how CRP reacts fast to single-protein changes while ESR integrates multiple inflammatory pathways over several days, often acting like a steadier signal for lifestyle experiments. We explore compelling evidence that ESR rises with age in Western populations—functioning as a biological clock—yet flattens in agrarian cohorts, underscoring how environment and habits accelerate “inflammaging.”Beyond theory, we get practical. Our guest shares what actually lowers ESR: meaningful weight loss, GLP‑1 therapies, omega‑3 rich fish, better sleep, daily movement, strength training, stress control, and even tart cherry juice. We talk about the design constraints that make wrist sensors tricky, why Apple prioritizes validation over speed, and how bringing blood-based testing into the home removes friction that once sidelined ESR in centralized lab workflows. With more than ten thousand tests across a diverse user base, the team is preparing anonymized insights and research in underserved communities to show which interventions move the needle in the real world. If you want a reliable, weekly feedback loop that ties your choices to measurable change, this conversation maps the path. Subscribe, share with a friend who cares about longevity, and leave a review to help more people discover smarter ways to measure and lower inflammation.https://corhealth.com/Lies I Taught In Medical School : Free sample chapter- https://www.robertlufkinmd.com/lies/Complete Metabolic Heart Scan (LUFKIN20 for 20% off) https://www.innerscopic.com/Fasting Mimicking Diet (20% off) https://prolonlife.com/Lufkin At home blood testing (20% off) https://siphoxhealth.com/lufkin Web: https://robertlufkinmd.com/X: https://x.com/robertlufkinmdYoutube: https://www.youtube.com/robertLufkinmdInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/robertlufkinmd/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/robertlufkinmd/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@robertlufkinThreads: https://www.threads.net/@robertlufkinmdFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/robertlufkinmd Bluesky: ...

The show opens with a discussion about the frigid weather sweeping across the country, before moving into Apple's newly announced App Award Winners. The panel covers winners across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, and Vision Pro—including the iPhone App of the Year Timbo and Vision Pro winner Explore POV—with commentary on design choices, spatial computing innovation, and whether they personally use the selected apps. Next, the 2025 Apple Podcast of the Year—The Rest Is History—leads the group into a conversation about podcast quality, history storytelling, and the growing depth of Apple's podcast ecosystem. Updates to visionOS 26.2 RC are discussed, including expanded Travel Mode for buses and cars, support for spatial accessories (like Logitech's stylus), and improvements to Freeform. Eric even admits the new features were compelling enough for him to install the beta. Updates for iOS/iPadOS 26.2 RC also make news, adding the Liquid Glass lock screen slider, Reminders alarms, new AirPods Live Translation support in the EU, and Podcasts app refinements. Jeff warns listeners to hold off on macOS Tahoe due to persistent audio issues, reinforcing that stability still matters more than flash. The show then pivots into a major AI segment featuring:     •    Anthropic's Claude Opus 4.5, touted as the new coding champion among AI tools     •    ChatGPT's new holiday shopping assistant, which impressed some panelists     •    The controversial discovery of ads in ChatGPT's app code, sparking fears of "enshittification"     •    A possible Apple Health integration, which launches a passionate privacy debate     •    Real-world examples of AI massively reducing work time—from spreadsheets to meeting analytics The group revisits Apple's newest patent describing a crease-free foldable iPhone using liquid metal, prompting speculation on durability, user experience, and whether Apple can create a foldable without the hallmark crease. Apple's Year-End Music Charts and Apple Music Replay lead to panelists sharing their most-played artists—ranging from Supertramp to Rush to 80s icons—and poking fun at Dave's unavoidable Taylor Swift top rankings. Apple also releases a beautifully produced Accessibility in College ad, highlighting assistive technologies like magnifier, voiceover, and live captions. The panel praises Apple's leadership in accessible design and speculates on future features for glasses-based products. Finally, the team dives into a major Apple Arcade update, featuring five new games including Subway Surfers+, SpongeBob Patty Pursuit 2, PowerWash Simulator, and more. The topic unexpectedly evolves into a discussion of how simulation games—like power washing or trucking—can offer therapeutic calm for many players. Hour 1 opens lightheartedly with Marc and Kim celebrating a cool summer morning—and wrestling over chocolate pie temptation in the studio fridge. Kim, trying to eat clean for baby, resists, while Marc admits to devouring cake at 5 a.m. The conversation turns serious with a disturbing turbulence incident that hospitalized 25 people and triggered Marc's childhood flashback to a near-crash over the Devil's Triangle. The mood intensifies as Marc torches the Fed for keeping interest rates high despite a surging Trump economy. He argues Powell's obstruction is political, designed to suppress housing market recovery and hurt everyday Americans—while banks rake in massive profits. In Kim on a Whim, the duo debates Trump's new health tech initiative: a voluntary, non-government-run system to streamline medical records, enhance care, and integrate platforms like Noom and Apple Health. Kim raises privacy concerns, while Marc argues the data's already out there, and this system could finally cut the red tape in modern medicine. The hour wraps with a breakdown of the media-hyped Trump–Hawley rift. Trump blasted Hawley for voting down a Pelosi stock probe amendment. Hawley insists it was a poison pill meant to kill the larger insider trading reform bill. Marc sees through the media glee and calls out the real issue—how public servants keep getting filthy rich with “coincidental” stock timing.
