Visit John's website Harvey & Lee Home Page John's book "Harvey & Lee" is available for Download. Israelis don't want their name mentioned in the JFK files that were recently released. View files. What Len appreciates is that John understands that Lee Harvey Oswald didn't shoot JFK. Capt. Westbrook, Croy & Fritz were significant in the cover up around Tippet murder scene. The 2nd wallet found at the Tippit murder scene was kept secret, helping to frame Oswald. What happened to the 2nd wallet Westbrook showed at the murder scene? It's disappeared! The 2nd wallet had two ID cards, one was a "Fair Play For Cuba" card assigned to A. J. Hidell. These two ID cards were taken from the 2nd wallet & placed in Lee's arrest wallet. FBI's James Hosty published Assignment Oswald in 1996. Find Here. The very first time people were told of the 2nd wallet was in Hosty's book. How authentic is it? How truthful are Capt. Fritz's notes? Can they be trusted? John doesn't think so. When Dallas Police Archives first released JFK related documents, John found discrepancies. John discusses the two half dollar bills that were discovered with a Dallas Police inscription. Clandestine activities use two half dollar bills to help covert contacts identify each other. We don't know when or if Oswald had a pistol at the Texas Theatre. Oswald denied gun was his. Oswald stated in police station during interrogation that the .38 revolver was planted on him. John does not feel that Lee had a gun at his rooming house in Dallas. After WWII ended, the OSS brought over tens of thousands of Easter Europeans refugees. Many of these refugees were relocated to the New York area, with government sponsorship. The refugees were used in propaganda campaigns against Russia with CIA help. John feels a refugee boy was named "Harvey Oswald" & mother caretaker "Marguerite Oswald". In January 1953 the NY the House of Un-American Activities had a file on a Marguerite Oswald. This information was disclosed in a CIA Office of Security File. Has it since been released? In 1995, the ARRB requested access to this CIA file & request was denied. Why? Mrs. Jack Tippit in Westport, Connecticut was contacted by an "unknown foreign woman". Was Jack Tippit in Connecticut related to J.D. Tippit in Texas? How random was this phone call? The woman said she personally knew Lee Harvey Oswald's Hungarian born father & uncle in NY. Did an Oswald family live near the 77th & 2nd Ave location in Yorkville, New York? Apparently the woman said the father & uncle were unemployed & in "communistic activities". The physical description Dr. Renatus Hartog at Youth House of Lee was he was emancipated. John feels the 1st occurrence of the multiple Marguerites & Lees was in July 1947. Marguerite & Lee were living with Edwin Ekdahl at 1505 8th Ave in Ft. Worth. While at the 1505 8th Ave residence, Lee attended Lilly B. Clayton school. Was there another Marguerite & Lee living at 101 San Saba at the same time in Benbrook? Marguerite worked for the Navy in WWII prior to her marriage to Edwin Ekdahl. Did CIA agent James B. Wilcott help fund the "Oswald Project" (codename RX-ZIM)? Why would the government want to merge the lives of two American & Hungarian boys? In 1952, Marguerite & Lee moved from Texas to New York, driving a 1948 Dodge. Lee & Marguerite lived in Manhattan, while "Harvey" & "Marguerite" lived in the Bronx. John invites you to write in to Black Op Radio with any questions you may have.

Improving Lithium-Ion Batteries: the Magnesium Solution

ClimateBreak

Lithium Ion BatteriesLithium ion batteries are a popular type of rechargeable battery, used in a variety of devices from laptops and cell phones to hybrid and electric vehicles. Lithium ion batteries have grown in use due to their light weight, high energy density, and ability to recharge. While these batteries are used to store electricity and, therefore, as an element of alternative to fossil fuels, the process to mine and obtain lithium has harmful effects on the environment. Lithium is a soft, light metal found in rocks and subsurface fluids called brines. The mining of battery materials and manufacturing the batteries can generate significant amounts of greenhouse gas emissions. The disposal of these batteries is also a concern, as the battery cells can release toxins such as heavy metals into soil and groundwater if not properly disposed of. In these cases, lithium ion batteries have also been found to cause fires, which is especially dangerous if misplaced in a landfill. There is a growing effort  to recycle these batteries due to the environmental issues and demand for batteries, but that faces obstacles as well. A New AlternativeDue to the concerns around the safety, cost and supply of materials for lithium-ion batteries, the industry is in search of more sustainable elements to use for batteries, such as manganese. Researchers at the U.S. Department of Energy's Argonne National Laboratory are developing lithium-ion cathode technology that has sustainable increased use of manganese. When a battery charges, lithium ions flow from the cathode to the anode, a process that reverses when the battery is discharged. Researchers have already created a nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) cathode material that is rich in lithium that has the potential to have increased storage capacity over conventional materials. The Argonne National Laboratory is working on a version of NMC technology that boosts the lithium and manganese content to improve the batteries energy density and safety while decreasing costs. A battery with a manganese-rich cathode is less expensive and safer than one with high nickel concentrations, but not without caveats. Increasing the manganese and lithium content can decrease the cathode's stability, impacting its performance overtime.Future of BatteriesThe U.S. Department of Energy has made it a priority to find more sustainable materials for electric vehicle batteries. Other strategies include decreasing the amount of cobalt by using higher percentages of nickel, but this also poses challenges. Nickel is more abundant than cobalt but less than a fifth of the current supply is suitable for battery use. In reality, there is less nickel than expected and increased use could cause a spike in prices. At the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, a consortium of scientists is developing the commercialization of a new family of battery cathode materials called DRX, or disordered rock salt. DRX could provide batteries with higher energy densities than conventional lithium-ion batteries that contained metals in short supply, like nickel and cobalt. The consortium is focused on making DRX cathodes out of more affordable and abundant metals, like manganese and titanium. About our GuestDr. Jason Croy is a Materials Scientist at Argonne National Laboratory whose work focuses on the design, synthesis, and characterization of high-energy lithium-ion electrode materials. Prior to his work at the Argonne National Laboratory, Croy was a musician and toured with his rock band for nearly ten years before attending college. He taught himself physics before enrolling in college, then going on to earn his Ph.D. in Physics from University of Central Florida. Croy is an internationally recognized expert on lithium- and manganese-rich cathode materials and has published numerous articles on the atomic-scale mechanisms governing the performance of lithium-ion electrodes. For a transcript of this episode, please visit https://climatebreak.org/improving-lithium-ion-batteries-the-magnesium-solution/

How a rotating warming shelter is more than a service for Royal Oak's homeless; it's a blessing for guests and volunteers alike (0:02) Laura Mills, a volunteer at the rotating warming shelter at St. Mary Parish in Royal Oak, talks about “Santa Claus,” one of the shelter's longtime guests, who was able to find housing and rehabilitate after a lifetime of addiction. Mills says his “feel good story” is emblematic of the work the shelter has done to provide homeless and struggling individuals a lifeline for decades. (3:07) Coordinator Heather Croy describes the work of the shelter, which, for a few weeks each winter, provides a respite from the bitter Michigan cold for dozens of guests with nowhere else to turn. The parish's gym is transformed with beds, fresh coffee is provided, and meals are served. It's a chance for guests to feel human again, she says. (6:12) Croy talks about how the effort got started more than 40 years ago after a homeless man froze to death outside the Royal Oak library. Dismayed, St. Mary's pastor at the time organized a temporary shelter in the evenings, just somewhere those down on their luck could crash for the night. Soon, other churches took notice, and eventually six area congregations decided to open their doors to the homeless as well. Today, each church takes two weeks each winter. (7:48) Despite Royal Oak's upscale atmosphere, Croy says, the need is very real for the city's homeless population. Croy talks about the changes since COVID-19, including the necessity to scale back the number of guests for safety reasons. It's been difficult, she says. (12:03) Far from simply providing a meal and a warm bed, Croy says it's important that volunteers take time to greet guests on a personal level. Every guest at St. Mary's knows her by name, and she knows them. It's how Jesus would want it, she says. (14:34) A guest at the shelter, who chose to remain anonymous, talks about how the shelter's volunteers made her and her daughter feel at home, and the circumstances that led her to seek help. “They are praying for me,” she says. “They're wonderful women.” (16:38) Another guest, Kevin Brown, found himself homeless after his wife died of COVID-19 last year. He's been working to secure housing as a job transfer materializes, but the shelter has been a needed stopgap. (19:35) Croy talks about how the shelter's guests aren't the only ones who feel the impact. Volunteers love the opportunity to put God's gifts to work for others, and in turn are blessed by the guests who arrive at St. Mary's. Croy cites Matthew 25 as an impetus for the shelter's work. Kennesaw police named two men Friday in the alleged beating of a Kennesaw State University student near the school's main campus last week. According to a release, Gauge Dakota Stanley of Chatsworth and Kole Zuba Reasoner of Flowery Branch were charged with battery, a misdemeanor, and aggravated battery, a felony. Police spokesperson David Buchanan said Jalique Rosemund, who is Black, was attacked at the West 22 apartment complex on Cherokee Street in Kennesaw, about 1 mile west of the university's campus, around midnight January 22. Rosemund said his attackers were two white men who repeatedly called him the N-word, according to a report by the responding officer. Rosemund was treated at a nearby hospital, according to the report. Kennesaw police thanked KSU police and the public in the release, stating without tips from the public “these arrests would not have been possible.” However, neither suspect had been booked into Cobb County jail as of Sunday evening. A man is being held without bond in the Cobb County jail after authorities say he tried to rape a 12-year-old girl in Shaw Park. According to a warrant filed by Cobb police, the victim said a man approached her while she was walking through the woods in the north Marietta park around 5 p.m. She said he offered her a water bottle that appeared to be sealed. The warrant says that “after drinking from the bottle she began to feel dizzy and tingle.” Then the man pulled out a knife, threatened her, and sexually assaulted her, according to the warrant. Cobb police arrested Douglas Darch on January 22 and connected him to the alleged attack. Darch, who is in his late 50s and homeless according to jail records, is charged with five felonies: aggravated assault with attempt to rape, child molestation, aggravated child molestation, child cruelty, and making terroristic threats. Dwight “Ike” Reighard, CEO of MUST Ministries, has been named the Cobb County Citizen of the Year.  Reighard received the award, presented by the Marietta Daily Journal, at the Cobb Chamber of Commerce's annual dinner celebration Saturday evening at the Cobb Galleria Centre. Following in the footsteps of past honorees, Reighard was recognized for his leadership of a ministry which provides services to some 60,000 people a year struggling in poverty. He became head of MUST Ministries in 2011. During his tenure, the Marietta-based charity launched its mobile pantry, which served 17,000 families in its first year, and the MUST Hope House shelter in Marietta. The 43,000 facility opened last year and features 136 beds and 36 respite beds used during inclement weather, a chapel, a rooftop retreat for families and a large dining hall. Reighard has often recounted how hungry hobos from the nearby Inman railway yard in Atlanta would stray into his childhood backyard seeking a handout. His mother never gave money, but would offer food and ice tea in mason jars to those who drifted onto their property. Word of the Reighards' generosity spread through the hobo village alongside the railroad tracks. Visits became more frequent. Neighbors grew upset, telling Reighard's mother she was going to be hurt or get someone else hurt. Her reply was that these men were somebody's son, father or brother and that if her son, father or brother were in trouble, she would hope someone would help them. As a child of the Great Depression, he said his mother never forgot how quickly one's fortunes can change. Brian Snitker is set to remain the Atlanta Braves' manager through his 70th birthday after agreeing to contract extension through the 2025 season Friday. The 67-year-old Snitker guided the team to 101 wins and its fifth consecutive NL East title last season, one year after helping the Braves win the fourth World Series title in franchise history. Snitker finished third in the Manager of the Year voting in 2022, after winning the award in 2018. He also was a finalist for the honor in 2019 and finished fourth in 2020 and 2021. Snitker completed his 46th season in the Braves' organization in 2022, and his sixth full campaign as the Braves manager. He took over on an interim basis following the firing of Fredi Gonzalez on May 17, 2016, then was named the permanent manager October 11 of the same year. The native of Decatur, Illinois, first joined the Braves as a non-drafted free agent in 1977. He spent four years as a player before beginning his managerial career at 26 years old with the Class A Anderson Braves in 1982. Snitker went on to manage for 20 seasons in the Braves' system, compiling a 1,301-1,309 record with 10 different affiliates. He also had three tours of duty on the major league staff as a coach in 1985 and again from 1988-90 and 2007-13.  Dozens of trains ran simultaneously at full speed in downtown Kennesaw on Saturday. No crashes resulted because of careful planning — with each train running on a closed loop. The Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History in downtown Kennesaw held its annual “Trains, Trains, Trains!” event over the weekend. The event began in 2010 when the museum's executive director, Richard Banz, had the idea for the event after taking his niece to a train show. The event featured 10 model train layouts built by local hobbyists. Three of the layouts were interactive, allowing visitors to control the trains. The model trains on display ranged from the extremely small “z gauge” trains to huge, one-sixth-scale models. The Smithsonian-affiliated museum also houses three real locomotives as part of its permanent collection, including the famed General. The price of admission included access to the whole museum in addition to the model trains, which were interspersed throughout the exhibits. Banz said family educational experiences are important for children, and the event is ultimately about sharing the joy of trains. Banz, who has been a model train hobbyist since he got his first train set as a child, said Kennesaw's model train event is the only one he knows of designed with families and children in mind. Greg Teague waited an extra year for his turn, but it has finally come. Teague, CEO of Croy Engineering, is the Cobb Chamber of Commerce's 2023 chairman, a role he was set to fill in 2022 before the pandemic threw things a bit off course. The chamber's 2022 chairwoman, Britt Fleck, passed the baton to Teague at the chamber's 81st annual dinner Saturday night. A graduate of Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering, now a part of Kennesaw State University, Teague has experience in both the public and private sectors. He was the city engineer and public works director for the city of Marietta before moving onto Marietta-based construction firm Traton Homes. After a stint there, he moved to Croy in 2007. With his business partners Eddie Wade and Adam Langley, Teague purchased the company, which employs 120 people and has offices in Marietta, Chattanooga, Tennessee and Huntsville, Alabama, from founder Jim Croy, Sr., last year. Teague lives in Elijay with his wife Sabrina. They have three daughters: Madison, Sydney and Georgia. #CobbCounty #Georgia #LocalNews      -            -            -            -            -            The Marietta Daily Journal Podcast is local news for Marietta, Kennesaw, Smyrna, and all of Cobb County.             Subscribe today, so you don't miss an episode! MDJOnline            Register Here for your essential digital news.            https://www.chattahoocheetech.edu/  https://cuofga.org/ https://www.esogrepair.com/ https://www.drakerealty.com/           Find additional episodes of the MDJ Podcast here.             This Podcast was produced and published for the Marietta Daily Journal and MDJ Online by BG Ad Group   For more information be sure to visit https://www.bgpodcastnetwork.com        See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Bible Reading: Matthew 11:28-30; John 6:37-40The wind lashed at Sam's hair, and salt water splashed on his face as the boat approached Liberty Island in New York Harbor. "Look! There she is," Sam said, pointing to the Statue of Liberty. He stood at the rail as they got closer."I've heard this area called the Gateway to Freedom," Grandma said as the boat docked. "Isn't the Statue of Liberty beautiful?" "My grandparents certainly thought so," said Grandpa. "I remember them telling me what it was like to come to America from the Netherlands. They said the Statue of Liberty was the first sight to welcome them to a new land.""I'll bet they were glad to get here," said Sam.Grandpa nodded. "Yes, they were. They were also glad when they became citizens of this country a few years later.""Do you know the poem written on a plaque at the base of the statue?" Sam asked. "Mrs. Croy had our class memorize part of it. It says, 'Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.'" Sam looked up at the top of the statue. "Mrs. Croy says there are still lots of people from other countries who come here looking for peace and freedom.""Yes," said Grandpa as they left the boat. "Since so many people want to come to America, our government puts a limit on how many are allowed in. The door is no longer open to everyone.""I know," said Sam. "Mrs. Croy told us criminals aren't accepted. And she said there's a limit to the number of people that can come each year from any one region.""I'm reminded of another gateway to freedom--one that is open to all who come," said Grandpa. "Jesus invites everyone to come to Him. Those who trust Him as their Savior are granted freedom from sin and Satan's power and can rest in God's peace as they walk with Him each day.""And we're granted citizenship in heaven," added Grandma.Sam nodded, then pointed toward a tour group. "Let's go!" he said. "A tour is starting, and I want to see that plaque with the poem." -Jan L. HansenHow About You?Is your citizenship in heaven? Welcome to Episode 95 of The Soul-ish Podcast! In this episode I have a return guest Alex Castro Croy! His last episode (#92) received tons of amazing feedback, and so we had to sit down and continue the conversation and go even deeper in how “The Medicine Is In The Wound”.. and how we begin the journey is forgiveness. First generation immigrant from Mexico who accomplished his dream in higher education receiving an AA in Pastoral Ministry (Dallas, Texas), Bachelor of Science in Human Services (MSU in Denver, Colorado) and MA in Community Counseling from Regis University (Denver, Co). He is continuing to pursue his MA/Ph.D. from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Jungian and Archetypal Studies. Alex's passion includes training, teaching, counseling, and consulting. As a clinician, he's constantly reminded to engage in the art of self-care within the 5 domains of self. He has learned in his experience as a human in the clinical role, that the human comes first, then the professional side. Therefore, he has learned to honor and respect the human part of ourselves first in order to be effective in the profession role. His Depth/Jungian perspective always defaults back to soul work and soul tending (therapy). The Selective Service card with the name “Alek James Hidell” contained a photo of HARVEY Oswald, and this was the one and only item that directly linked Oswald to the rifle found on the 6th floor of the TSBD Retired Dallas officer Billy Grammer remembers the call that could've stopped killing of JFK's assassin Nobody saw Ruby walking on Main St. or enter the ramp on Main St. On June 7, 1964 Ruby told Chief Justice Earl Warren "I have been used for a purpose” "Everything pertaining to what's happening has never come to the surface. The world will never know the true facts of what occurred, my motives. The people who had so much to gain, and had such an ulterior motive for putting me in the position I'm in, will never let the true facts come above board to the world." A reporter asked, "Are these people in very high positions, Jack?" Ruby said, "Yes." Capt. Fritz's complete lack of interest in the Tippit murder Croy was the one and only police officer who saw Ruby before the shooting But he did not ask him for identification or order him to leave Jack Ruby's conviction was overturned by a Texas Appellate Court The Court found that Sgt. Patrick Dean's testimony should not have been admitted during the trial
