POPULARITY
We open a Cabernet Sauvignon from California and an Organic Chocolate Stout from the UK! We also toast National Wine Day. Plus, paper airplanes, Star Wars trivia and the usual dad jokes.
Chocolate and stouts make a perfect pairing. For proof of that, one need look no further than Untappd, the social media app that aims to promote beer and connect beer lovers by asking them to rate and comment on beers they've tasted while making it easy for them to link up with their fellow drinkers. Chocolate- and/or cocoa-infused stouts like the English brewer Samuel Smith's Organic Chocolate Stout and Stone Brewing's Xocoveza have high and well-earned ratings on Untappd, indicating just how popular this particular style of beer is. If beer and chocolate make a perfect match, so, too, does...Article Link
Immer her damit! Zu hören u.a. in Spotify, Google Podcast, Apple Podcast und der Football was my first Love-App.

In a beer scene dominated by all the hottest styles and latest releases, sometimes it's refreshing to take a look at the classics. On this week's episode of Barrel to Bottle, Master Brewer Gavin Scoreby shares all the ways Samuel Smith's Old Brewery keeps things traditional, from their centuries-old brewhouse to local delivery powered by horse. The team tastes Sam Smith's Nut Brown Ale, Organic Lager, Oatmeal Stout, Organic Chocolate Stout, and Apple and Perry Ciders. Stick around for the Q&A segment, when the team answers your question about gluten free and reduced beers.
We’re back! This podcast was recorded a few weeks before the Oscars (in the midst of a diversity controversy that, just like any valid, nuanced controversy, became grist from the media-driven “culture war” mill rather than a topic for authentic dialogue and reconciliation) and immediately after having watched, “Fruitvale Station.” So…it’s kind of heavy. I really like this conversation. It’s real, it’s gritty, it gets mildly heated, passions run…well my passions ran a bit high, and there’s plenty of humor and levity to balance the rest. We had a lovely “half and half” cocktail of sorts using Samuel Smith’s Organic Chocolate Stout, Lindemans Kriek, and Wigle Pomander Orange Bitters. Uh…so much yum. Your musical selection for today? “Bonita Applebaum” by the incomparable Tribe Called Quest. We present to you, “Fruitvale.”
