On a new episode of The Fellas with Anthony Gargano & Daniel DiBerardinis, the guys discuss the NFL Combine including Kenyon Sadiq breaking the TE 40-yard dash record and why Drew Allar could have more success in the NFL than in college. The guys then do their own NFL Mock Draft in honor of the combine detailing why the Giants need to take a DB, not a WR at pick 5, and why more tackles could go in the top 10 than people think. The guys discuss why the Bengals and Falcons are due for a comeback year in the NFL next season and which QB's have the most to prove next season. Big Brain Brad joins the show for all the best bets headed into a BIG college basketball weekend and to give his Final Four picks. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Mary Kay Cabot, Ashley Bastock and Dan Labbe are wrapping up their week at the NFL Combine, but first it's a Friday edition of the Orange and Brown Talk podcast. Today it's all about the quarterback and wide receiver prospects. The main discussion centers on Alabama QB Ty Simpson. Mary Kay shares her positive first impressions and details his interesting connection to Browns head coach Todd Monken through his father. The crew debates how far Simpson would have to fall for the Browns to draft him and if he's a realistic option to challenge Shedeur Sanders. They also explore the "damaged goods" nature of this QB class, looking at potential value picks on Day 2 or 3 like Garrett Nussmeier and Medina native Drew Allar, both of whom have shown flashes of high-end talent. The conversation then shifts to the deep wide receiver class. Ashley details her interview with Jordyn Tyson, the brother of Cavs player Jaylon Tyson, and his potential as a precise route runner. Finally, they debate the Browns' biggest draft needs, weighing the value of taking a premium receiver like Carnell Tate at pick No. 6 versus addressing the offensive line. Today on the Logan Blackman Show we reveal mock draft 1.0, while also taking some time to look back at some of our first ever mock drafts. With mock draft 1.0 we go through each and every pick, discussing the different reasons behind each selection and why some talented players may wind up missing out on the first round. We then take a look at ESPN's predicted quarterback destinations for this offseason, as well as ranking the quarterbacks who could go after Fernando Mendoza and Ty Simpson. With that we focus in on the likes of Drew Allar, Garrett Nussmeier, Cole Payton, among others, focusing on how Allar's physical tools could see him shine at the NFL Combine. Finally, we preview the NFL Combine, going over which players could really boost their draft stock based on how good they do in shorts. Enjoy!
Welcome to Steelers Morning Rush, our new daily short-form podcast with Alan Saunders, giving a longer perspective on a single news topic surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers or the National Football League. Today, it's the third day of prospect interviews at the 2026 NFL Combine, which continued on Friday morning with quarterbacks and wide receivers. The Steelers did use four of their 45 formal interviews at the quarterback position, with Ty Simpson, Drew Allar, Garrett Nussmeier and Carson Beck all getting formals. But it was the wide receiver position that Mike McCarthy and company blitzkrieged, using over a dozen formal visits on that position, which has been one of dire need for the team for several years now. Alan breaks it down. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Live around 5 p.m., Post-Gazette sports columnist Paul Zeise ponders the San Francisco 49ers' Mac Jones as a potential trade target for GM Omar Khan and the Steelers this offseason. Could he be the best option realistically available over veterans like Kyler Murray, Malik Willis or Daniel Jones? Or over NFL draft options like Ty Simpson, Cade Klubnik, Garrett Nussmeier and Drew Allar? How would he compare to Aaron Rodgers should last year's starter decide to return for 2026? What about other internal options like Mason Rudolph and Will Howard? And to what degree would Mike McCarthy be suited to getting more from Jones than he shown thus far in his NFL career? Paul tackles those questions and offers more reactions to the latest news from the NFL combine in Indianapolis. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Ray doesn't think it should be shocking if the Steelers use a 3rd round pick on Drew Allar. Ray thinks any rookie QB selected by the Steelers would be QB3 for most, if not all of the season. Ray is skeptical of Ty Simpson getting 1st round buzz and does not expect the Steelers to have interest at 21st overall. Last season it was Shedeur Sanders that got the love from Mel Kiper Jr going into the draft. This year's name appears to be Ty Simpson and Kiper, yet again, has the Steelers connected to the QB. Wake up NFL Draft nerds! Your favorite time of the year has arrived. Bill Jones and Cody Winstead preview part one of the pre-draft process... the NFL Scouting Combine. Which quarterbacks will shine this week? What teams are searching for a franchise QB? And which schools will be most represented in Indianapolis?
With the NFL combine now just a few days away, we thought it might be a good idea to throw out a few names we’re looking forward to watching and we think the Jets brass should be too. https://api.spreaker.com/v2/episodes/70201742/download.mp3 Of course there are the big names such as edge rushers David Bailey and Rueben Bain along with linebacker Arvell Reese and safety Caleb Downs. But who are some of the prospects who aren’t being mocked to the Jets by every pundit, fan or insider? Let’s take a look. QB Drew Allar, Penn State: Allar is a tough watch when you turn on the film. Sloppy mechanics lead to often wildy inconsistent play at quarterback. However, Frank Reich is said to be looking to land a tall QB who can work from the pocket which does describe Allar. If Reich believes he can fix what’s wrong with Allar, he may be a developmental QB the Jets target. QB Taylen Green, Arkansas: We loved Green coming in to this season as we anticipated another step forward in his growth, but like Allar, his consistency left plenty to be desired. Green’s footwork will often get sloppy and he tends to leave his feet when throwing the ball down the field for no apparent reason. But he’s a QB who has what both Reich and head coach Aaron Glenn covet at the postion. Reich wants a tall QB with a strong arm, while Glenn wants a QB who can beat you with his legs. Green can do both when he’s on. RB Emmett Johnson, Nebraska: With Breece Hall’s future up in the air and Braelon Allen coming off of a major injury, might the Jets look at a running back? If so, Johnson should be under consideration. His ability to fit through small holes while evading multiple defenders gives you a guy who can take the smallest crease and grab you 7 or 8 yards in a spot where most backs might give you 1 or 2. WR KC Concepcion, Texas A&M: Concepcion has struggled with drops over the course of his college career, but he also brings electric speed and versatility to the position. A guy who would serve primarily as a slot receiver, we’d be willing to bet Concepcion could be effective on the boundary as well. Expect Concepcion to test extremely well this week. WR Brenen Thompson, Ole Miss: Expected to be the fastest player in Indy, Thompson’s size will scare some team’s off as he’s currently listed at 5′ 9”, but his play making ability will get him plenty of attention. Adding Thompson to any offense will bring considerable juice. TE RJ Maryland, SMU: We loved Maryland’s game back in 2024 with SMU before he suffered a season-ending injury after seven games. He’s probably one of the bigger “under the radar” prospects who can boost his stock in Indy with a strong showing. OG Chase Bisontis, Texas A&M: Vega Ioane is a guy who should be at the top of the Jets options with pick sixteen, but if they pass in that spot and are still looking to add a guard, Bisontis in round 2 wouldn’t be a bad idea. Expect a solid showing on the bench press. C Logan Jones, Iowa: The Jets should be looking to upgrade at center with such a deep class and in all honesty, Jones would be our first choice. The Iowa product showed great movement on film over the past couple of seasons so we expect a solid showing for all 32 teams at the combine. His teammate Beau Stephens, a guard at Iowa, should be another option for the Jets in the middle rounds. DT Nick Barrett, South Carolina: The Jets will need to beef up their interior defensive line and Barrett is an powerful, explosive option. Very curious to see how he fares on the vertical and broad jumps along with bench press. Donny doesn't care that Konnor Griffin loses a year of service time by being on the Opening Day roster. Field Yates has the Steelers taking Ty Simpson. Who has the better NFL career: Drew Allar or Will Howard?
Bill Barnwell said the Steelers should trade Nick Herbig for Tanner McKee. Ray has the Steelers trading up for Jordan Tyson (Arizona State). Joe wants to trade up for Caleb Downs. Ray has the Steelers taking WR Chris Bell from Louisville in the third round coming off a major injury. Ray thinks Drew Allar could go as early as the second round. Fair Game w/ Steelers reporter Nick Farabaugh from Penn Live dot com joined the show. Nick thinks there are legitimate concerns with Ty Simpson being a 1st round pick and thinks the Steelers have more pressing needs than to take a flier on him. Nick can see the Steelers trading up to draft a WR instead of just staying put because he believes there is a drop off between the top 2-3 at that position and the rest of the 1st round names. He thinks Jordyn Tyson could be the one to fall out of that group. Is Simpson a better prospect than Will Howard? Nick thinks it's more likely that the Steelers take a QB on the second night or third day of the draft, and that could be Drew Allar. Nick said there were some interesting prospects that went back to school. Nick said Garrett Nussmeier, who has clear connections to Mike McCarthy has ‘tanked' his stock going into the draft process. The Steelers have 5 picks in the top 100 right now and Nick expects them to draft a pair of receivers with that at their disposal.

Charlie Campbell talked to team sources who think Ty Simpson will interview well and won't slide too far in the draft. Charlie thinks Drew Allar and Garrett Nussmeier have NFL arms. Charlie has Carnell Tate going to the Steelers in the first round. He compares Trindas Chambless to Russell Wilson as a potentially solid mid-round quarterback!
After seeing this in an online mock draft, Adam Crowley and Dorin Dickerson wonder it would make sense for the Steelers to actually draft QB Drew Allar.
This is a very solid wide receiver class in the first round. Nick thinks the Steelers will sign a receiver and draft a receiver who can both start. He projects Calvin Austin to make $6-7 million per year and thinks Austin will be back as a WR4. Nick thinks Garrett Nussmeier or Drew Allar makes sense in the middle rounds.
Hour 2 with Bob Pompeani: This is a very solid wide receiver class in the first round. Nick Farabaugh thinks the No. 21 pick will be a wide receiver. Nick thinks Garrett Nussmeier or Drew Allar makes sense in the middle rounds. The Steelers could take a shot on a mid-round quarterback because they're going to have 11-12 picks and there are good prospects who will fall for various reasons.
The 2026 NFL Draft quarterback class is shaping up to be fascinating, with clear separation at the top. Jagger May and Andrew Mott break down their top ten quarterback prospects following the Senior Bowl, offering detailed scouting reports and player comparisons. Fernando Mendoza is the clear QB1 in this class, compared favorably to recent prospects like C.J. Stroud and Jayden Daniels. The hosts discuss his calm processing, great touch, and NFL-ready skills, though concerns about the Raiders' offensive line situation linger. Behind Mendoza, the class features intriguing prospects like Ty Simpson, Garrett Nussmeier, and Cade Klubnik, each with their own risk-reward profiles. The conversation dives deep into developmental prospects like Cole Payton, Trinidad Chambliss, and Taylen Green, discussing which teams might take shots on their physical tools. The hosts also debate late-round options including Drew Allar, Carson Beck, and the polarizing Diego Pavia, whose size concerns could limit his draft stock despite impressive college production. Explore more tools and resources to stay ahead of your league.

On the Wednesday episode of the North Shore Drive podcast, presented by FanDuel and Edgar Snyder & Associates, host Adam Bittner welcomes Post-Gazette Steelers insider Christopher Carter to analyze the NFL draft QB class following Chris's trip to the Senior Bowl last week. How does the Steelers' Will Howard compare to guys expected to be available on Days 2 and 3? Is he clearly a better option than names like Garrett Nussmeier, Drew Allar, Cade Klubnik, Carson Beck, Sawyer Robertson and others? Or could one of those guys offer value over him as he competes with Mason Rudolph and -- possibly -- Aaron Rodgers for positioning on new coach Mike McCarthy's depth chart? Where's the ideal spot on the depth chart for Howard if GM Omar Khan gets his offseason moves right? And why do so many fans have such resolute faith in the former sixth-round pick? Our duo tackles those questions and more. Our duo tackles those questions, then ponders Khan's trade options this offseason. How seriously should he consider moving on from Jalen Ramsey, given the corner/safety's hefty cap hit? Is he worthy of making the money Minkah Fitzpatrick did at the position? Could the team get by with names like DeShon Elliott, Chuck Clark, Jabrill Peppers and Kyle Dugger in that spot? Or should it consider drafting a safety like Caleb Downs or Bud Clark to fill the void at a cheaper price? The later, the guys ponder how to handle the Steelers' array of draft picks. Should Khan hold onto all 12 with the goal of building his team's depth? Or should he trade up, even if it's not for a QB? Knowing that it's unlikely he could keep all of the picks on the 53-man roster and that impact talents like USC's Makai Lemon at WR could be available? Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. On the Monday episode of the North Shore Drive podcast, presented by Edgar Snyder & Associates, Post-Gazette Steelers insiders Christopher Carter and Ray Fittipaldo discuss Chris's first mock draft of the season following his visit to the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala. over the weekend. Should coach Mike McCarthy and GM Omar Khan get aggressive at wide receiver given the depth of this class? How could names like Makai Lemon and Malachi Fields fit in the receivers room alongside names like DK Metcalf and Roman Wilson? Is Miami's Keionte Scott a potential fit alongside Joey Porter Jr. at CB? And why does Chris like prospects including safety Bud Clark, guard Beau Stephens and quarterback Cole Payton alongside veterans like Jalen Ramsey, Mason McCormick, Mason Rudolph and Will Howard? Our duo tackles those questions, plus Scott Tolzien's OC candidacy. Does he have the experience necessary to thrive in the role? Especially with McCarthy likely retaining playcalling duties? Could his game plans get the most out of names like Jaylen Warren, DK Metcalf, Roman Wilson and others? Especially with the young offensive line that includes names like Zach Frazier, Troy Fautanu, Broderick Jones and Mason McCormick maturing? Or are there valid reasons for concern, especially with the future at QB uncertain? Could Tolzien succeed with Aaron Rodgers, Will Howard or Mason Rudolph? And how would the former quarterback help in terms of development should the Steelers look at names like Ty Simpson, Drew Allar, Garrett Nussmeier and Kade Clubnik in the NFL draft? Our duo tackles those questions and more. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.

Nick Farabaugh thinks McCarthy is a low ceiling, high floor coach when the Steelers needed a high ceiling head coach. Nick gives the Steelers a C. Nick thinks Will Howard has upside, but he doesn't do well under pressure and doesn't have great footwork. Nick thinks that Garrett Nussmeier is an interesting name. The Steelers could look at Drew Allar, too.
On the Monday episode of the North Shore Drive podcast, Post-Gazette Steelers insiders Christopher Carter and Ray Fittipaldo discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the team's decision to hire Mike McCarthy as its replacement at head coach for Mike Tomlin. Does this move finally give the franchise a fighting chance to develop a young quarterback and functional offense? With pieces in place that include names like Aaron Rodgers, DK Metcalf, Jaylen Warren, Pat Freiermuth, Zach Frazier, Troy Fautanu and Mason McCormick? Can McCarthy win without a franchise QB type like Brett Favre, Aaron Rodgers or Dak Prescott at the helm? Could he develop Will Howard or an NFL draft rookie like Ty Simpson, Drew Allar, Cade Klubnik or Garrett Nussmeier? Or could he foster a career renaissance like we've seen Sam Darnold enjoy for another veteran QB like Malik Willis? Our duo tackles those questions and more now that owner Art Rooney II and GM Omar Khan have chosen McCarthy over names like Chris Shula, Nate Scheelhaase, Anthony Weaver and Brian Flores. On the Wednesday episode of the North Shore Drive podcast, presented by FanDuel and Edgar Snyder & Associates, host Adam Bittner welcomes Post-Gazette Steelers insider Christopher Carter to ponder the ways QBs factor into the search to replace Mike Tomlin as coach. Could owner Art Rooney II and GM Omar Khan prioritize Aaron Rodgers returning with a name like Mike McCarthy? Or is Rodgers too old to receive that kind of deference in this process? Will young candidates like Chris Shula, Nate Scheelhaase and others value the ability to start fresh at the position? Or will they look at the lack of a franchise QB as a downside to taking the job? Could a new coach look to bring in a veteran option like Malik Willis? And what are the chances we see a young QB like Will Howard or an NFL draft rookie like Ty Simpson, Drew Allar, Cade Klubnik or Garrett Nussmeier get a long look in 2026? Our duo tackles those questions, plus the possible influence of rostered players including Cam Heyward, T.J. Watt, Joey Porter Jr., Derrick Harmon, Zach Frazier and others over the process.
