Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk joined the show. Mike confirmed that he was in Canton last night ahead of the Hall of Fame Game. Did Chris Berman lose his ass? Mike explained why Baker Mayfield could be the Steelers QB in 2027 and why he could actually sign for less money than expected. If Mayfield does come here, how good could he be? Mike made waves by telling the Pardon My Take guys that the Steelers could trade Aaron Rodgers at this year's deadline if they get off to a rotten start – what was his reasoning? Mike thinks things between Mike McCarthy and his QB could become ‘very combustible very quickly' like they did at the end of their time together in Green Bay. Mike believes the Steelers, like every year since Ben Roethlisberger retired, need to look into all options next offseason at QB, assuming Rodgers is done after this one. Jeff said Mason is going about this as a professional, which has been common over his time in Pittsburgh. Jeff explained the trickiness of the evaluation for the coaches when it comes to backup QB. Jeff said Drew Allar is the one QB that has nothing to lose in the Steelers QB room. Jeff expects to see a lot of Roman Wilson and Germie Bernard last night because he isn't confident DK Metcalf or Michael Pittman suit up. Has Lew Nichols thrown a wrench into the RB3 battle? Jeff told the guys we could see Broderick Jones play both tackle spots tomorrow night. Jeff doubts Max Iheanachor will play and why that puts him behind the 8-ball to be the starter at right tackle. The guys asked how much we will see Robert Spears-Jennings, who has taken advantage of some camp opportunities. Why has Spencer Anderson been mostly untested at right guard? Jeff explained why we haven't heard much about Gennings Dunker so far.

Why is ESPN oddly optimistic about the Pirates? The Pirates will get Oneil Cruz and Konnor Griffin back before the end of the season, and ESPN thinks it could ‘save' their season. That idea feels like a pipe dream. Cruz should be back soonish, but Griffin won't be back until the middle of next month – and at that point, the Pirates could be mathematically out of it. Fan Graphs gives the Pirates under a 10% chance to make the postseason, but the odds don't even feel that high. Poni said people can still count on the fresh air at PNC Park if nothing else. Wow! Baseball writer John Perrotto joined the show. John said this season reminds him of the early Clint Hurdle seasons of 2011 and 2012, which saw the Pirates completely fall apart in August. John talked about the disappointment in the pitching staff in 2026. John thinks Paul Skenes should face a lot of blame for how this season has gone due to the amount of power he wields in that building. John criticized how Skenes has looked in his last 3 starts with the Pirates needing their ace to answer the call. John joked as a man of heavy stature that Skenes does look like he's put on some weight between seasons and it may be affecting his performance. The guys asked John how the Pirates may twirl things this offseason if they finish in last place once again? John cited how Bob Nutting doesn't love making drastic changes despite consistent poor results.
