After the White House Correspondents' Dinner shooting, every major Democrat rushed out the same statement condemning political violence — Jamie Raskin, Tim Walz, JB Pritzker, Elissa Slotkin, Gretchen Whitmer, all using nearly identical language. Larry puts their statements side by side with what they've actually been saying for years: calling Donald Trump an authoritarian, comparing ICE to Nazi stormtroopers, calling the president an existential threat to democracy, and a devastating montage of Democrat leaders openly calling for violence against Trump and his supporters. It's been another bruising day for Sir Keir Starmer as Sir Olly Robbins, the former top Foreign Office official sacked over the Lord Mandelson vetting row, has broken his silence. Giving evidence to MPs at the foreign affairs select committee, he accused Downing Street of applying “constant pressure” to push the appointment through despite Mandelson failing vetting checks.Camilla and Tim ask how damaging Sir Olly's testimony will be to Keir Starmer, as Robbins revealed the Government didn't even want Lord Mandelson vetted at all, and asked him to explore an ambassadorship for his now disgraced former spin doctor Matthew Doyle.Lord Glasman, the Labour peer, also joins Camilla and Tim, saying that Sir Keir must go and that a growing number of backbenchers now agree with him.

As tankers stall and global markets wobble, the episode reveals a White House in panic mode: JD Vance, Marco Rubio, and others are scrambling to distance themselves from a war gone wrong, leaking, positioning, and “plotting” to protect their own futures as the political fallout accelerates. With Iran tightening its grip on global shipping, Trump boxed into a corner he can't escalate out of, and his inner circle quietly preparing escape routes, Wolff and Coles map the infighting, blame-shifting, and raw survival instincts driving a presidency at what they argue is its most dangerous breaking point. Low snowpack and high temperatures have jeopardized ski resorts across the region this year. While some resorts have held on, most have been facing closures or abnormally short seasons. Skiers are cancelling trips, and seasonal workers have had to shift their plans for work during this abnormal winter. Mountain towns are facing major economic uncertainty – some offering major sales on gear, or pivoting to warm-weather recreation. Mt. Hood Meadows is the latest ski resort to announce its closure - it will officially wrap up this year’s operations on April 12, as it announced in a recent blog post. Greg Pack is the president and general manager at Mt. Hood Meadows. He’ll join us to discuss the weather’s impact on this year’s ski season.
As the war in Iran creates chaos in every domain of life, the already-fragile energy systems of many countries find themselves on the brink of crisis after spending decades investing in natural gas infrastructure, largely supplied by Middle Eastern countries. With projected natural gas prices now spiking across the world, a growing number of nations are re-prioritizing energy security over energy convenience – calling into question the types of electricity generation needed for their citizens as they look to the coming decades. Could this lead to calls for a nuclear power revival in the West, and if so, would Western countries have the capacity to build such complex infrastructure? In this episode, Nate welcomes back Dr. Chris Keefer, president of Canadians for Nuclear Energy and host of the Decouple podcast, for an impromptu exploration of the possible role of nuclear power for energy security amidst destabilizing supply chains and escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. Looking back to the energy shocks of the 1970s, Chris highlights how these disruptions reshaped electricity generation globally, including the rapid expansion of nuclear power for several countries, such as Europe, the U.S., Japan, Taiwan, and Pakistan. But without the energetic, material, and civic availability of fifty years ago, Chris calls into question whether most free-market based countries would be able to coordinate and effectively respond in the same way today. Ultimately, both Chris and Nate highlight how energy security is reshaping every aspect of our lives as we are forced to adapt to a world of lower material throughput. Why is nuclear power such a potent piece of energy infrastructure – resulting in cheap, abundant electricity when built correctly? How are the health impacts of nuclear power accidents misunderstood, and do the risks outweigh the benefits? And ultimately, does society today possess the political, financial, technological, and institutional capacity required to build and sustain large-scale nuclear systems? About Chris Keefer: Dr. Chris Keefer MD, CCFP-EM is the host of the Decouple podcast, where he explores the most pressing questions in energy, climate, environment, politics, and philosophy. Additionally, he is a practicing emergency physician in Toronto, a medical instructor, and a lifelong advocate for social and environmental causes. Chris is also the founder and president of the grassroots non-profit Canadians for Nuclear Energy, as well as the Director of Doctors for Nuclear Energy. Podcast Show Notes – Episode 270 | 03.03.2025 Episode Title: Jeremy Jensen & Sean Barnes Episode summary introduction: Sean Barnes sits down with Jeremy Jensen, founder of Encore Search Partners, to talk about what it really takes to build a high-performing business and a high-performing life. They get into culture and why one toxic top performer can quietly poison an entire organization, the brutal 2015 oil crash that nearly shut Jeremy's doors, and the mindset shift that comes from living below your means. The conversation turns personal as Jeremy shares how he rebuilt himself after divorce and a health wake-up call, and why real confidence comes from integrity, not optics. Then they zoom out to the executive hiring market in 2026, where AI, systems integration, and cost pressure are changing what companies hire for, and why senior leaders can't rely on yesterday's resume to win tomorrow's seat. Key Moments 00:01:13 - Jeremy's business scale and why culture became non-negotiable 00:02:42 - “If you're a pain in my ass… hit the road”: removing toxic talent 00:07:48 - Family vs sports team: how Jeremy thinks about performance and standards 00:10:17 - 2015 crisis: revenue drops to $0 and the decision to double down 00:15:36 - Scrambling for revenue, survival creativity, and the value of a safety net 00:20:10 - Sean on financial discipline creating personal freedom and backbone 00:26:05 - Jeremy: divorce, rebuild, and the 2022 wake-up call at 284 lbs 00:31:23 - “I worked on myself for three years”: what actually changed 00:37:14 - What Jeremy wanted changed every 5 years: rich, power, fame… then respect 00:45:24 - Why people don't invest in coaching: cost vs investment mindset 00:51:06 - Sean: the leap into entrepreneurship, rebrand to Wolf Executives, restarting lean 01:07:18 - Executive hiring now: longer processes, interview fatigue, and “free consulting” fear 01:11:57 - 2026 trend: systems integration, AI, outsourcing, and profitability pressure 01:18:29 - The hiring trap: hiring “big company” execs who can't scale the next phase 01:21:11 - Sean's framework: clarity, visibility, value for career transitions 01:22:33 - Jeremy's next chapter: growth plan and May 16, 2026 wedding in Warsaw Key Takeaways Culture beats “star power.” One toxic high performer can cap the entire team's output. When they're gone, the rest of the organization often accelerates. Your safety net buys you options and integrity. Living below your means doesn't just protect you in downturns, it gives you the freedom to stand your ground when it matters. In 2026, executive value is shifting toward integration and productivity. Companies want leaders who can implement systems, leverage AI, and improve profitability. If you're not evolving, someone younger and more current is already in the lane. While retail investors panic over volatility, institutions are quietly buying the dip. In this conversation, Matt Hogan breaks down why financial advisors, wirehouses, and major institutions are steadily allocating to Bitcoin, how the institutional adoption process actually unfolds over years (not weeks), and why this bear market feels fundamentally different from 2018 or 2022. We dive into the real valuation debate around Ethereum and Solana, why stablecoins and tokenization are the true institutional obsession right now, what BlackRock's move into Uniswap signals for DeFi, and whether a diversified, index-style approach may ultimately outperform trying to pick winners. Institutions already assume Bitcoin will be here in 10 years and that everything will be tokenized — the only question they're debating now is where the value accrues and whether this dip is an opportunity rather than a warning.

CNN runs interference for Georgia elections officials and allows a member of the board of supervisors to suggest the Trump administration is actually working to rig 2026 and 2028. Does his deflection away from the election fraud sound familiar? Trump withholds federal funding to sanctuary states that don't comply with request for voter roll and welfare data. Gavin Newsom's deflection from the tens of billions of hospice fraud in California is to sue Dr. Oz for exposing it. Another Epstein data dump has the deep state hoping you're focused on that instead.
Tonight we're diving into Donald Trump's attempt to take back the narrative around ICE in Minneapolis, and it's clear he's scrambling and in full damage-control mode. After the deaths of Renée Good and Alex Pretti at the hands of federal agents sparked widespread protests and bipartisan backlash, the White House has begun shifting its tone, reshuffling leadership, and trying to tamp down outrage. Podcasting takes time. Usually more time than you expect. If your show feels like a lot of work with very little return, the problem probably isn't your commitment. It's your production process. I see this all the time as a podcast coach. Podcasters reacting week to week instead of working from a repeatable system. Scrambling for topics. Recording whenever there's a free moment. Editing on the fly. Publishing late. Promoting inconsistently. It's common, but it's also the fastest way to burn out before your podcast ever pays off. In this episode, I break down why efficiency matters more than hustle when it comes to podcasting for your business. Not because podcasting should be easy, but because narrowing the gap between effort and return is the only way to stay consistent long enough to see results. You'll hear what actually makes a podcast production process efficient, what most podcasters are missing, and how a clear structure, intentional batching, and a documented workflow can dramatically reduce the time and energy cost of your show. This isn't about cutting corners. It's about building a process that supports consistency, quality, and long-term momentum. If you're just starting out, efficiency helps you build the right habits from day one. If you're already podcasting and wondering why the return doesn't match the effort, this episode will help you see where things are breaking down. If you want help tightening up your production process or figuring out how to get it right from day one, book a free private podcast coaching call. Zohran Mamdani has become one of the most popular and polarizing politicians in the last year. How did the New York City mayoral candidate go from a relatively unknown Democratic Socialist to becoming the frontrunner in the election for the U.S.'s largest city? In this episode, we unpack how Mamdani has energized unlikely voters and, for some, symbolized a fight for the soul of the Democratic party.Learn more about sponsor message choices: podcastchoices.com/adchoicesNPR Privacy Policy
After an inmate sucker-punches James Sexton, he defies the jail's unwritten rules by failing to exact violent retribution, and finds himself ostracized by his peers. But he becomes an expert in the antiquated jail computer system and eventually wins promotion to an elite jail-intelligence unit. Leah Marx has a cell phone smuggled to inmate-informant Anthony Brown, part of the FBI's increasingly ambitious scheme to catch dirty jailers. Jailers quickly discover the phone, however, and trace it to the FBI. Scrambling to hide Brown from the feds, the department enlists Sexton, who helps change Brown's name in the computer system and dubs the plan Operation Pandora's Box. For 18 days, from August-Sept. 2011, Marx struggles to find her informant. The effort to erase Anthony Brown from jail records showed how far leaders would go to shield themselves. A young deputy became central to the cover-up, and what began as a contraband phone case quickly spiraled into an obstruction probe. Reporter Chris Goffard, who previously told the story of Dirty John, guides listeners through this extraordinary clash between the Sheriff's Department and the FBI.
