Presence, physical and emotional, at gatherings of the church. In this dream, John sees a river that is clear as crystal, and whose water gives life, flowing from the throne where God and the Lamb (Jesus) are. The river flows down the middle of the streets, so it is always accessible, and there is a tree of life whose leaves are medicine that can heal the nations. God's subjects serve God faithfully and bear God's name on their foreheads. God will become their light.John, from the midst of the hardship and loneliness he is enduring, from the midst of wondering where God is, imagines God's life and healing power flowing from out of Gods' own self, always accessible; he likewise imagines all of God's people working in service of this God, always having all that they need. He imagines a tree that provides peace among nations. What was it for John to dream of coming to God for all that is needed, and for it to be easily accessible, at a time when God might have seemed silent? For it to be easy to access all that is from God, including life and world peace? What is it for us to conceive of a God of abundant life who actively provides for the healing of this world, accessible to us as we serve God? What is it for us to attend gatherings of the church with this vision? In this dream, John, who's clearly been through hardship, imagines a situation in which the Lamb, the not-powerful, peaceful, gentle one, shepherds those who have suffered. What was it for John (possibly a refugee?) to witness a divine community in which everyone had everything they needed? What was it for John to imagine the one who had suffered (the Lamb) as the caregiver for the ones who suffer? What does this do to hierarchy? What is it today for the tormented and suffering to wear their suffering as robes for all to see— and allow themselves to be comforted and cared for in community? Or for those who have suffered to provide that community for others? To tell us your thoughts on this sermon, click through to the web posting and leave us a comment. Gracious receipt of care from the church family. In this dream, God's people who have been subjected to societal violence wear their suffering like robes of honor. They worship God and serve God around God's throne— and God shelters them. Their shepherd is this Lamb (Jesus); it is said this Lamb will make sure they are never hungry or thirsty or even hot and will lead them to springs of living water. Then, any tears that were in their eyes, God will wipe away. Why do so many want Jesus to be the Lion of Judah? What does it mean for the Lion of Judah to be the Lamb? How should we thoroughly reconsider our understanding of Jesus in Revelation in light of His presentation as the Lamb which was slain? The Lion of Judah, the Lamb | Jesus in Revelation Outline | Conversation
As citizens of the Kingdom of God, we are called to a higher allegiance, one that transcends political parties, nations, and earthly rulers. In this series, "Voter Guide - Kingdom Allegiance in a Divided World," we explore what it means to follow Jesus, the Lamb who was slain, rather than aligning ourselves with the symbols of earthly power—the elephant or the donkey. Our allegiance is not defined by political ideologies but by the gospel of Christ. This voter guide is not about endorsing candidates or platforms but about re-centering our hearts on who we are truly allegiant to: Jesus. Through each week of this series, we will journey through the dynamics of Kingdom citizenship and learn how to engage the world around us with a gospel-centered conscience. In this journey, we will examine how the Lamb—Jesus, the King of Kings—guides us to live as faithful citizens of His kingdom while navigating our responsibilities on earth. Let's be reminded that our vote matters, but more than that, our ultimate allegiance must be to Christ and His Kingdom, above all else. In our diversity, we find unity as we stand under the Lordship of Jesus, agreeing on the main thing: Jesus is King. Shane Claiborne speaks about placing our hope not in a person, politician or political party but to place our hope in Christ alone. Our hope lies not in the donkey of the Democrats or the elephant of the GOP - it lays firmly instead on the lamb, on Jesus. In Revelation 14, John sees a vision of the Lamb (Jesus) standing on Mount Zion with 144,000 people with God's name written on their foreheads, symbolizing their divine protection and belonging to God. He then hears a powerful sound from heaven, described as the voice of many waters and great thunder, accompanied by the music of harps. The 144,000 sing a new song before God's throne, the four living creatures, and the elders. This song, exclusive to them, is a powerful symbol of their special status. They are described as those who have remained pure, not defiled by women, symbolizing their spiritual purity. They faithfully follow the Lamb wherever He goes and are considered the first fruits, a special offering to God and the Lamb. These individuals are without deceit and are blameless before the throne of God. Who were the 144,000? What does it mean to be the 'first fruits'? Let's find out. *****Support This Channel*****Paypal: https://paypal.me/jimivision?locale.x=en_USMonthly Support on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/JimivisionCash App: https://cash.app/$JimivisionVenmo: https://venmo.com/Jimmy-Cooper-17 Contact KenEmail: askbible4family@gmail.com Phone: 401-47-BIBLE https://www.bible4.family Mail To:Jimmy CooperJimivision MediaP.O. In this exploration of Revelation 14, we're reminded that we face a crucial choice between following the Lamb (Jesus) or the Beast (worldly powers). The imagery of the 144,000 sealed believers, the three angels' messages, and the two harvests vividly illustrate the consequences of our allegiance. We're called to patient endurance, keeping God's commands and remaining faithful to Jesus even in the face of persecution. The eternal gospel is simple yet profound: fear God, give Him glory, and worship Him alone. This message challenges us to examine where our true loyalties lie and to resist the intoxicating influence of 'Babylon' the world's systems that oppose God.
I find that I need to keep reminding myself of how I overcame the Devil. Jesus said: "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world" (John 16:33, NKJV). Jesus is speaking to His disciples regarding what preceded this verse; that He would be gone, but would send the Comforter -- the Holy Spirit. He will in turn give them peace. They'd have tribulations, but Jesus tells them [and us] that we'll have peace; peace between you and God the Father and peace between our brothers and sisters in Christ. How? Because Jesus has overcome the world, therefore we have overcome the world. In Revelation 12:10-11, John records, "Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, 'Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death'" (NKJV). Salvation, strength, the Kingdom and the power, we have received through Jesus Christ. We overcome the "accuser of the brethren" [the Devil], who has been cast down. John wrote: "And when I saw Him [Jesus], I fell at His feet as dead. But He [Jesus] laid His right hand on me, saying to me, 'Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death'" (Revelation 1:17-18, NKJV). I make His victory a reality to myself and others through my ongoing testimony of what the Blood of the Lamb [Jesus] has done for me. I've been justified (Romans 5:9), redeemed (Ephesians 1:7), sanctified (Hebrews 13:12), and cleansed from sin (1 John 1:7). I pray this message encourages you to testify the Word out loud about the power of the blood of Jesus. Selah! “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?” But the temple he had spoken of was his body. — John 2:20-22 Did you know that the tabernacle in the Old Testament (Exodus 36-40), and the temple afterward (1 Kings 6-8), were made from heavenly blueprints? Hebrews 8 helps us to see this. All the features and furnishings were meant to show that the temple on earth was just a copy of the sanctuary in heaven. When Jesus came to live among us, he brought the temple with him—in his person. The temple was the place where God met his people. It was where the Israelites presented themselves and their sacrifices before God. When the Son of God became human, God and humankind were united as never before. God himself lived among us and was one of us. In fact, the original Greek text of John 1:14 tells us that Jesus “tabernacled” (“made his dwelling”) among us. Since God himself is present with us through Jesus, why would we need to meet with God anywhere else? The temple building in Jerusalem became obsolete after Jesus came, because God was present on earth in Jesus himself. And now a perfect human, Jesus, is present in heaven with God. The book of Revelation adds that in the new heaven and earth God himself will dwell among us, and there won't be a temple structure because “the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb [Jesus] are its temple” (21:3, 22). And we will live there forever with God! O God, we long to be with you. Bring us into the holy place you have prepared for us. Amen.

In the book of Exodus, we read how the Israelites needed the blood of a spotless lamb to save themselves from physical death. Today, we need the blood of God's spotless Lamb -- Jesus -- to save us from spiritual death. And when we understand there's nothing else that can save us but the blood of Christ, we realize how important it is to share that news with others.

This week, we dive into Exodus 12:1-32, examining the 10th and final plague that God poured out on the Egyptians. In this plague, every firstborn son in Egypt will die. The Israelites, in order to be shielded from God's judgment, will have the first Passover and paint the blood of the lamb over their doorposts. We will explore this and how the first Passover points us to the final sacrificial Lamb—Jesus' death.

In the “new Jerusalem” there will be no need for a church building. “The Lord God Almighty and the Lamb [Jesus] are its temple,” (Revelation 21.2, 22f). Going to church can easily become doing church, or even playing church. Religious activities can actually move us away from the original design of church. In “the new Jerusalem” there will be no church building. Jesus is the temple. If you don't want Jesus, you don't get church. Going to church in “the Holy City” of heaven will mean an actual encounter with “the Lord God almighty and the Lamb.” There'll be no playing church there.

Lutheran Preaching and Teaching from St. John Random Lake, Wisconsin
Is it too hard to imagine that the unbridled stallion or mare will kneel to be ridden by Bev, resurrected and whole again? She will go galloping along the river of water of life, clear as crystal. She and all creation will rejoice in the salvation of the Lamb (Jesus) on His throne. And as she rides down the middle of the streets, she will see the tree of life, bearing its twelve fruits and leaves for the healing of the nations. There will be no more curses. No more M.S. No more obstinate animals. No more land that refuses to yield its fruit. The hope and promise of God's covenant promise to you, His people, is the resurrection of the body and heaven. And that heaven for you and Bev is full of life, physical life abundantly furnished and supplied by God. The clear biblical promise is that the present earth, which is suffering God's judgment and thus is wasting away, will be restored to its original state—even as Bev and all God's people will have their bodies restored in the resurrection so that they will be like Christ's own glorious resurrection body (Phil 3:21). --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/stjohnrandomlake/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/stjohnrandomlake/support

THE IDENTITY of the 144,000 men who appear in Revelation 7 and again in Revelation 14 has been debated for the last two millennia. We talk about the difference between being sealed by God and marked by the Beast, which seems to be more like the brand used on cattle. We also revisit our discussion of who the 144,000 are and why Dan and Ephraim are not among the tribes of Israel in Rev. 7:5–8. As early as the mid-second century AD, Christian theologians like Irenaeus and Hippolytus, citing Jeremiah 8:16–17, believed that the Antichrist would come from the tribe of Dan. The prophecies of Jacob (Gen. 49:17) and Moses (Deut. 33:22) over Dan, likening the tribe to a serpent and “a lion's cub that leaps from Bashan,” the land of the dead, contribute to this interpretation. John's vision of the 144,000 with the Lamb (Jesus) on Mount Zion is surely a glimpse of the spirit realms, since Jesus does not return to Earth until Revelation 19 at the battle of Armageddon. This suggests that the 144,000 sealed by God will be martyred during the Great Tribulation.
