We go through the film and make comparisons to previous adaptations and discuss the original source material. It's a quick one, as it's just Kevin this week and he covers the latest episodes of From, The Penguin, Agatha All Along, as well as the new Salem's Lot film. Kevin starts off the show withe the latest episode of The Penguin. It's more of a Vic centered episode, though we do get a lot of Oz and Sofia (played by Cristin Milioti who Kevin owes a million apologies to). It's a good deep dive into what makes Vic tick, but also showcases the way Oz handles that relationship, as well as his relationship with Sofia. All in all, a great episode. Next up, we jump into From on MGM+. This is a bit of an overall explanation of the series as a whole before jumping into the now running season 3. This is one of the better shows out there right now, horror or otherwise. This season has upped the twists and turns and is well worth the price of admission if you don't have MGM+ already. After that we move on to a film, rather than a series, with Salem's Lot. to be fair, this review would probably be a lot better had this been a series. This is one of Stephen King's best stories and the two hour run time leaves a lot of story and character development off the screen. Overall, the film itself is well made - the effects are good and the acting is solid all around. it just needed more room to spread it's wings. Last on the docket is Agatha All Along. This show is developing nicely and this episode was really solid. It also potentially revealed some new possible theories that Kevin goes into some detail on. Hon var dotter till lagmannen Birger Persson och modern Ingeborg Bengtsdotter som tillhörde den berömda Bjälboätten i Östergötland. Redan som elvaåring flyttade Birgitta sin moster Katarina på Aspanäs gård vid Sommen efter moderns död.13-åring gammal blev Birgitta bortgift med Ulf Gudmarsson, senare lagman i Närke. De fick åtta barn. Mest känd av dem är Katarina, som blev föreståndarinna för Vadstena kloster. Birgitta var också hovdam hos kung Magnus och drottning Blanka på Kungsgården i Vadstena. Det var här som Birgitta fick en uppenbarelse om att stifta ett kloster.För att kunna grunda ett kloster måste Birgitta få påvens godkännande. Därför beger hon sig år 1349 till Rom. Rom vid denna tid vara bara en spillra av sitt fornstora jag och påven befinner i Avignon i Frankrike. Birgitta arbetar sedan målmedvetet på att få sin klosterorden godkänd och att påven ska återvända till Rom. Först 1370 ger påven Urban V sitt godkännande till att två kloster grundas i Vadstena: ett för kvinnor och ett för män.Birgitta dör i Rom år 1373 efter att hon just har kommit hem från en pilgrimsresa till Det heliga landet. Året efter fraktas Birgittas kvarlever genom hela Europa till Vadstena. As a young girl, she survived a horrific car crash that cracked her back and crushed her left leg, resulting in a physical handicap and over 100 stitches in her face.Eleven years old, poor, crippled and scarred… but a miracle, too! This was the outlook Cheryl chose, as she had been told that she might not ever walk again. But walk, she did!
