This week Jim gets his door, Elton watches Carry on which doesnt have Sid James in it, Darren catches up with Salems Lot and nearly burns his house down, while Lee finishes Black Doves and loses a car park ticket twice in less than 20 seconds. After some feedback things get heated about Jaffa Cakes and flavours of Coke. Before we finally review the final movie of the year. Die Hard and Home Alone with a distinct christmas twist Violent Night. We will return in 2025 but until then on behalf of all the hosts, we wish you all a very merry christmas and a happy new year. This week we continue our Stephen King on Film season with a modern retelling of one of his most famous novels; Salems Lot. We will be discussing 2024's much delayed remake of this vampire horror. We go through the film and make comparisons to previous adaptations and discuss the original source material. We talk about Gary Dauberman's direction and the cuts he's revealed of the final film. So grab a ragtag gang of townspeople, take your crosses and if they glow tonight get ready for a mildly entertaining vampire showdown that Stephen King could and did write better. A little over two years ago, the boys reviewed three Salems Lot adaptations thinking they were leading up to a new version of it produced by James Wan. Well, they did get it, they just had to wait over two years. Welcome to the review over two years in the making. With Garrett the huge fan of the novel and, to a lesser extent, the two miniseries, was he looking forward to this new one directed by Paul Dauberman? And will the new aesthetic help Adam and Matt give their endorsement of a series they really didn't like to begin with? Listen below to find out, as The Three Men and a Retrospective Podcast continue on with their look at the onscreen adaptations of author Stephen King

It's a quick one, as it's just Kevin this week and he covers the latest episodes of From, The Penguin, Agatha All Along, as well as the new Salem's Lot film. Kevin starts off the show withe the latest episode of The Penguin. It's more of a Vic centered episode, though we do get a lot of Oz and Sofia (played by Cristin Milioti who Kevin owes a million apologies to). It's a good deep dive into what makes Vic tick, but also showcases the way Oz handles that relationship, as well as his relationship with Sofia. All in all, a great episode. Next up, we jump into From on MGM+. This is a bit of an overall explanation of the series as a whole before jumping into the now running season 3. This is one of the better shows out there right now, horror or otherwise. This season has upped the twists and turns and is well worth the price of admission if you don't have MGM+ already. After that we move on to a film, rather than a series, with Salem's Lot. to be fair, this review would probably be a lot better had this been a series. This is one of Stephen King's best stories and the two hour run time leaves a lot of story and character development off the screen. Overall, the film itself is well made - the effects are good and the acting is solid all around. it just needed more room to spread it's wings. Last on the docket is Agatha All Along. This show is developing nicely and this episode was really solid. It also potentially revealed some new possible theories that Kevin goes into some detail on. None of these are overly surprising, but the delivery is solid and makes them very interesting. As always, thank you for watching. If you haven't already, don't forget to Like & Subscribe. We love new viewers! Also, leave us comments and let is know how we are doing and what we can be doing better. Enjoy the episode and have a great week! Christmas is the second scariest holiday of the year. From scary decorations to Christmas horror movies, there are a lot of things for horror fans to look forward to during the Yuletide season. It makes complete sense that Spirit Halloween would have a Spirit Christmas store. Though it is disappointing that they do not seem to be going a more horror-centric direction with it.We know what we are in for when we are going to cover a movie from The Asylum. Halloween Night from 2006 sounded as original as anything else they have ever done. The plot focuses on a young boy who has spent a decade in an asylum and is now heading home to wreak havoc. Oh yeah. It is also set on Halloween. If only it were that derivative. The story somehow manages to be straightforward and confusing. The Big Bad is one of the best from the studio. Unfortunately, he is offset by a lead who is one of the worst in cinema history. This describes Halloween Night in a nutshell. For everything it does right, it does a number of things completely wrong. But if you are participating in a 31 Days Horror Challenge is it worth a watch? We have covered a few Stephen King adaptations on our humble little podcast. We have yet to cover a really great one. The third Salem's Lot remake had a lot going against it. The source material is one of King's best and Tobe Hooper's take on the story is iconic. Add in that the 2024 version has been in limbo for a few years and you have a recipe for disappointment. We have yet to cover a truly awesome King movie, but the latest version of Salem's Lot does a lot of good things. The question here is not if it is actually good, but will people accept it? It seems to boil down to how familiar you are with other versions of the tale. It is by no means a masterpiece, but it may serve as a great introduction into one of the most important names in horror history. X-Men 97 is robbing us all of the cake, well, maybe, at least that is what the trailer is telling us. Marvel is also looking to dump Kang and his council, while DC is not printing money and is avoiding a Batman Beyond movie. How the could fumble the bag that much is beyond me. Also XBOX clarifies its future, and dumped water all of the nonsense fires that were burning on twitter. Nintendo dropped a direct, and with it the return of one of the best Star Wars games :Star Wars Battlefront II from 2005! That and more come take a listen.
