Several forms of traditional Japanese tattooing
POPULARITY
In this episode, Brittany and Danlee sit down with renowned Austin tattoo artist David Parker, for an in-depth conversation about the art of tattooing. With over 20 years of experience, David shares his journey, from getting started in the industry to what keeps him inspired. He also dives into the rich history of tattooing, exploring the ancient art of Tebori, the iconic influence of Sailor Jerry, and the groundbreaking work of Ed Hardy. Packed with fascinating insights and a passion for the craft, this episode offers a fresh perspective on the tattoo world—who knows, it might even inspire your next ink! Enjoy!
Another great live episode from the Aachen Tattoo convention, one of the best shows on the planet. Today's guest is Alex Reinke: Horiyoshi III former apprentice; exhibitions curator; owner of the iconic publishing company Kofuu Senju Publications (now KŌSEI publications) and zen practitioner. He also creates beautiful ceramics and handmade Tebori tools, a full renaissance man. With his extensive knowledge regarding traditional Japanese tattooing, which extends to various aspects of this culture, Alex is a well-known and respected master of the craft, a reference for many. My co-host for today is Berto Ramirez, aka Nutz, owner of the Red Temple Tattoo shop in Barcelona, where I work. As always big thanks to Andreas Coenen and his crew for making this possible, and the audience that attended the event. holyfoxtattoos.de Alex Reinke's Instagram Nutz Instagram redtempletattoo.com Kaiserstadt Tattoo Expo stefbastian.com
Everyone is hanging out at the former Chikara Dojo making plans. We discuss it all in our spoiler filled Iron Fist Season 2 Episode 6 Review as we talk about our top five points of "The Dragon Dies At Dawn". As always make sure you've watched the episode before listening to our podcast. Iron Fist Season 2 Episode 6 Review "The Dragon Dies At Dawn" Spoiler filled Synopsis Directed by Philip John Written by Matthew White Back at the dojo Misty Knight (Simone Missick) interrogates Joy Meachum (Jessica Stroup) and Mary Walker (Alice Eve) separately and convinces Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick) that arresting them would be more problematic than tracking down Davos (Sacha Dhawan). She also discovers that three Tebori tattooists, known as the Crane Sisters, were behind the ritual on Danny Rand (Finn Jones) and could be the key to regaining his Chi. With Danny resting up under the watchful eye of Ward Meachum (Tom Pelphrey), Misty and Colleen, jacked up on snacks, go on the hunt for the Crane Sisters. Meanwhile, as Mary and Joy are under house arrest in the bedroom, Joy, desperate to rid herself of Davos and his “virtue”, offers a contract to Mary to track and take out Davos. Mary accepts and allows Danny to join her, who eventually persuades her to bring him in alive so they can transfer the chi of the Iron Fist back to Danny Rand. With everyone gone from the dojo, Ward and Joy attempt to clear the air and thrash out their problems but with no success. Whereas, Colleen and Misty successfully thrash the Crane Sisters with a dynamic tag team fight. As they find out more about the ritual, Misty offers them prison or assisting with the ritual once again this time on Danny Rand. The Crane Sisters choose wisely! Elsewhere Davos returns from his bloody day of dishing out justice to be ambushed by Mary and Danny. In the fight Danny’s leg is broken and Davos powers up two Iron Fists but is finally sedated. However, as an ambulance comes to take Danny to hospital Walker has a trigger event and turns to Mary who flees from the scene. As Danny is taken off to hospital Davos remains sedated but free in New York city. Thank you so much for listening to our Iron Fist Season 2 Episode 6 Review Podcast and the rest of this season. The Tattooers Podcast: Tattooing/ Art/ Culture/ Lifestyle/ Business
In this episode, I was able to make a special trip up to Phoenix AZ to interview Alex Empty, owner of Copperstate Tattoo. This was really cool for me, due to the fact that Alex was able to squeeze me in for a tattoo as well as the interview. I jumped at the chance given that Alex has recently been tattooing and learning the tebori style of tattooing, which was done in Japan. Alex is one of the most down to earth tattooers I've met and his outlook and attitude are completely unique to him. I really enjoyed our chat even if we both got lost in whatever we were talking about. Its easy to zone out when you're tattooing and when you're getting tattooed. So please enjoy our rants and tangents as 2 tattooers hang out in the studio. You can also follow Alex on Instagram @alexempty and his shop @copperstatetattoo as well as the show on IG @thetattooerspodcast or on Facebook.com/thetattooerspodcast. Don't forget to subscribe to the show on Itunes and Google Play. It only takes a moment and it helps the show out so much. And be sure to head over to ElectrumSupply.com to recieve the free bottle of stencil primer only for the listeners of the podcast. If you spend $50 bucks at electrum supply and use code PODCAST at checkout they'll gently remove the bottle of stencil primer from its armored, guarded vault. And with white satin gloves they will gently place it on a red satin pillow and lower it into your order. After which the police escort will hurry to the airport where it will board the private jet. Once arriving in your current city, the local package deliverer will take it from there and we have no idea how they operate.... thanks again for all the listens and downloads!
