In this extremely fun episode, I had the pleasure of talking with St. Louis Cardinals stadium emcee Todd Thomas. Known around Busch Stadium, Ballpark Village, and basically anywhere in St. Louis as “That One Guy,” Todd and I discuss a wide range of topics, such as how he got his start with Cardinals, how he became a Cardinal fan, and his Mt. Rushmore of favorite Cardinals of all time. But that's just the beginning. He tells SO MANY awesome stories, ranging from Jr. High track, to addressing a raucous Busch Stadium crowd celebrating a World Series, to shaving mullets (that story is an all timer). There's even a Lou Brown impression for good measure. Nothing left to say but LISTEN AND ENJOY.

This week, we devote the whole show to a little old theme we call That One Guy!, which honors those actors from your favorite movies & TV shows growing up, whose name you can't quite think of but you know who we mean… you know…THAT ONE GUY!  Our guest interview is the talented, charming, and very fit Chris Diamantopoulos! Chris is also a regular on American Dad!, Invincible and as the voice of Mickey Mouse for various Walt Disney Studios productions and is no stranger to DC animated productions with past roles in Harley Quinn, Justice League Action and the Batman Unlimited franchise. Tabletop RPGs come in a variety of forms and offer a myriad of options in terms of style, setting, theme, goals or purpose. One thing that is central to all TTRPGs however is the player character. As Sean so aptly puts it in our discussion, "It's hard to have a story without characters." And while the Lone Wolf Rogue can be fun to play for a time we want to peel back the layers to discover who these characters are and what makes them interesting.  Today Sean McStravick of The Arcanery and Game Master's Toolbox joins me for a conversation about how to create interesting characters for your Tabletop RPGs. They help me breakdown several questions that you our listeners can ask about the characters you are crafting for your games: What do I want from my life? Who, or what do I value most? What do you do when you come across a seemingly decent fellow but are being paid to kill them? So if you're feeling like your Player Characters are getting stagnant, or if you are tired of playing Generic Human Fighter for the umpteenth time, these questions and more will help you create dynamic characters, with personality and depth to them.  A special thanks to Sean to for joining me on this journey today. If you want to hear or see more from them you can find them on twitter with the handle @That_One_Guy or @TheArcanery and check out their work with the Arcanery and Game Master's Toolbox here: https://linktr.ee/TheArcanery   As always a huge thank you to Hannah Miller for editing the show and to Paul Mackie for our rocking theme song.

This week we deliver a neo-nostalgic edition of “That One Guy!", which honors those actors from your favorite movies & TV shows growing up, whose name you can’t quite think of but you know who we mean… ooh, you know, from that one thing…THAT ONE GUY! And this One Guy is a titan of film and TV: John Ratzenberger, belovedly known to listeners of a certain age as Cliff Clavin, the wing nut mailman on the Emmy winning sitcom Cheers. But Cheers was already 20 credits into a very unique brand of acting success, as once upon a time he was That One Guy from such genre defining movies like Superman The Movie and Oscar winners like Gandhi. Heck, he was even That One Guy from The Empire Strikes Back, as Major Derlin. You know, that one guy who closes the door on Luke and Han on the ice planet Hoth? Again, from The Frickin' Empire Strikes Frickin' Back?!?! And, oh yeah, most recently he is That One Guy from Every. Single. Pixar. Movie. Ever. Made. Including fan favorite Hamm from the brand new blockbuster Toy Story 4! We’ll get into all of that in a bit, but the highlight of this episode is a 40 minute one-on-one interview between our very own Grim Shea and Mr. John Ratzenberger himself, you know, that cross generational That One Guy? Join us, Grim Shea, Marke and Jimmy the Gent, as we uncover some of the many highlights of literally one of the most successful, highest grossing actors of all times* (*by movie gross, not pay gross, poor John!) with a celebration of this amazing That One Guy! We're back with a brand new That One Guy episode! And, as if that weren't enough, writer/director Miles Doleac joins us to talk all about the star of his movie The Hollow, the immaculate Mr. William Sadler who's IMDB credits runs as long as a 1990’s Steven Seagal ponytail. You know, he’s that one guy from Shawshank Redemption, Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, Machete Kills, Roswell, The Green Mile, Star Trek Deep Space Nine. Hell, this is “That One Guy” who fought both Steven Seagal’s squint in Hard to Kill and John McClain’s receding hairline in Die Hard 2 Die Harder. Is it actually possible to make the argument that William Sadler’s Colonel Stuart was a better foil to John McClain than the late great Alan Rickman’s Hans Gruber? Marke is sure gonna try. Plus, gaze in marvel at the sound of a grown man recalling -- on the spot and almost dead on accurate after 20 years! -- the entire plot of the 1990 Kelly Le Brock vehicle Hard to Kill. Take some time this week to remember your original happy hour: Saturday mornings as a kid, waking up at dawn, jumping on the couch with a bowl of chocolate cereal, turning on the ‘toons, tuning out the outside world, and working your way into a sugar hangover before noon. We're finally back with a brand new episode! And, as if that weren't enough, it's another That One Guy Episode -Villains Edition! This time we're talking all about Mr. Vernon Wells, who played the villain in such venerable hits asInnerspace, Weird Science, Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior (yes, one of the greatest movies ever!), and the recently released The Horde. You know, he's that one guy who played Bennett in Commando fercrissake! And in case you forgot what a great bad movie that was, we take you through every painstaking inch of it on a nostalgic trip to '80's super action blockbuster land. We also sit down with the man Vernon Wells himself to talk about his long acting career, fighting Arnold Schwarzenegger, and chasing down Mel Gibson in the post apocalyptic Outback. We also chat with director Jared Cohn about working with Vernon in his newest thriller The Horde, available now! Hosted by Grim Shea and Marke Follow us @StayClassySDCC @MattyPradioShow Check us out for News, Views, Previews and Reviews.. MattypRadio.com   Rated: NSFW

Take some time this week to remember your original happy hour: Saturday mornings as a kid, waking up at dawn, jumping on the couch with a bowl of chocolate cereal, turning on the ‘toons, tuning out the outside world, and working your way into a sugar hangover before noon. This week Grim and Mark E devote the whole show to a new theme we call That One Guy!, which honors those actors from your favorite movies and TV shows growing up, whose name you can't quite think of right nowbut you know who we mean... uh, you know... that one guy!  We break in this new format with the one and only Michael Ironside (you know, he's that one guy from Top Gun, that one guy from Total Recall, that one guy from Splinter Cell, that one guy from V, that one guy from Scanners, that one guy from Terminator Salvation, that one guy from freakin' EVERYTHING!!), featuring Grim's interview with the man himself about everything from his TV days to how he helped shape video games as we now know them, and right up to his latest role in the Vicious Brothers new movie Extraterrestrial  (playing now in select cities and available in your area on VOD). By the end of the show, we guarantee that you will always remember Michael Ironside's name and look really smart whenever people at your work are trying to think of this one particular "That One Guy!"
