This week on The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers Podcast, we're taking The Curse from Season 35, Episode 13, on January 30th, 2010. Akiva isn't here this week, but we've got Jon Hamm himself to replace him! Jon is here to tell us all about how Andy talked him into playing a version of Timothy Cappello but with more goo. Fun fact: this was a solo outing for Andy, as Jorm was still working on MacGruber and Akiva was still back in L.A. working on a movie that was never made. But that didn't stop Akiva from calling in to give his thoughts. Plus, they talk about some classic sketches from this classic Jon Hamm episode, including Closet Organizer, Game Time with Randy and Greg, Hamm & Bublé, Court Stenographer, and the unforgettable... On this landmark 200th episode, Andrew and returning guest Dakota Jones (Voices of Wrestling) are diving into hall of fame season. Yes, this is the time of year when people discuss and debate the candidates for the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame, but Andrew and Dakota are focusing on a different (though just as noteworthy) institution: the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The Class of 2025 was announced months ago, but the induction ceremony is just a few weeks away, so there's no better time to celebrate the group of music luminaries entering the hall: Bad Company, Chubby Checker, Cyndi Lauper, Joe Cocker, Outkast, Soundgarden, The White Stripes, Salt-N-Pepa, Warren Zevon, Carol Kaye, Nicky Hopkins, Thom Bell, and Lenny Waronker. After a brief one week absence Wrestling Omakase is back on the air with another packed show talking four shows from all around the Japanese wrestling world! John is joined by returning guest Paul Volsch of VOW's own Emerald FlowShow (https://redcircle.com/shows/the-emerald-flowshow) as they start things out with some chat about the upcoming Wrestle Kingdom trip they'll both be on together, plus John celebrates the Blue Jays beating the Yankees in the ALDS! Yeah! Once that's all out of the way it's time for NJPW talk, as they break down three matches from their recent 10/6 Korakuen (including a truly baffling junior title change) and then the entire King of Pro Wrestling show from Monday 10/13. Lots of thoughts of course on the new IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, where things might be going now for the Tokyo Dome, and a ton of praise for a truly amazing tag team title match. Plus, thoughts on the surprising IWGP Women's Title change in the opener and much more, including the show kind of bombing at the gate. Then it's over to the green ring of NOAH for another Ryogoku show from two days earlier, Wrestle Odyssey, which also kind of bombed! They discuss a pretty underwhelming overall show, a big return from the US, a great junior tag title match and a lot more, before looking ahead to what's coming up next for NOAH on their two upcoming Korakuen Hall shows. Following that they break down STARDOM's 10/11 Korakuen Hall show, another kind of underwhelming show that still featured some interesting matches and moments but in the midst of a bit of a sleepy period for the promotion. Finally, they review Dragongate's 10/8 Korakuen which featured an amazing top two matches, discuss their favorites and least favorites among DG's interesting crop of young wrestlers, and give a brief look ahead at the King of Gate tournament.Follow Wrestling Omakase's Twitter account: http://www.twitter.com/wrestleomakaseFollow John on Bluesky: http://bsky.app/profile/justoneenby.bsky.socialAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
In this episode, we explore the genius of Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount, where He calls us to a life of integrity, truthfulness, and peace. Rather than speaking in anger, Jesus invites us into flourishing and wholeness—a way of being that restores what’s broken in us. He teaches that real integrity means keeping our word, real justice means refusing retaliation, and real love means extending grace. Ultimately, Jesus not only shows the way to wholeness—He is the way, healing and restoring us by His own integrity and grace. In this guided meditation Sono recites Torei Zenji's Bodhisattvas' Vow to open the heart to practice loving kindness towards those who have hurt us or done us harm.
Acts 18:1-23 After this Paul left Athens and went to Corinth. 2 And he found a Jew named Aquila, a native of Pontus, recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla, because Claudius had commanded all the Jews to leave Rome. And he went to see them, 3 and because he was of the same trade he stayed with them and worked, for they were tentmakers by trade. 4 And he reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath, and tried to persuade Jews and Greeks. 5 When Silas and Timothy arrived from Macedonia, Paul was occupied with the word, testifying to the Jews that the Christ was Jesus. 6 And when they opposed and reviled him, he shook out his garments and said to them, “Your blood be on your own heads! I am innocent. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.” 7 And he left there and went to the house of a man named Titius Justus, a worshiper of God. His house was next door to the synagogue. 8 Crispus, the ruler of the synagogue, believed in the Lord, together with his entire household. And many of the Corinthians hearing Paul believed and were baptized. 9 And the Lord said to Paul one night in a vision, “Do not be afraid, but go on speaking and do not be silent, 10 for I am with you, and no one will attack you to harm you, for I have many in this city who are my people.” 11 And he stayed a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them. 12 But when Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews made a united attack on Paul and brought him before the tribunal, 13 saying, “This man is persuading people to worship God contrary to the law.” 14 But when Paul was about to open his mouth, Gallio said to the Jews, “If it were a matter of wrongdoing or vicious crime, O Jews, I would have reason to accept your complaint. 15 But since it is a matter of questions about words and names and your own law, see to it yourselves. I refuse to be a judge of these things.” 16 And he drove them from the tribunal.17 And they all seized Sosthenes, the ruler of the synagogue, and beat him in front of the tribunal. But Gallio paid no attention to any of this. 18 After this, Paul stayed many days longer and then took leave of the brothers and set sail for Syria, and with him Priscilla and Aquila. At Cenchreae he had cut his hair, for he was under a vow. 19 And they came to Ephesus, and he left them there, but he himself went into the synagogue and reasoned with the Jews. 20 When they asked him to stay for a longer period, he declined. 21 But on taking leave of them he said, “I will return to you if God wills,” and he set sail from Ephesus. 22 When he had landed at Caesarea, he went up and greeted the church, and then went down to Antioch. 23 After spending some time there, he departed and went from one place to the next through the region of Galatia and Phrygia, strengthening all the disciples. Key Words: Reason, Persuade, Testify, Believe, Teach, Word, Vow, Strengthen Keystone Verse: And the Lord said to Paul one night in a vision, “Do not be afraid, but go on speaking and do not be silent, for I am with you, and no one will attack you to harm you, for I have many in this city who are my people.” (Acts 18:9-10) Download Bulletin
The Vow of a Nazarite was voluntary vow of separation for either a man or a woman in Old Covenant Israel. The Nazarite was a wonderful thing for a believer in Israel to undertake. A Nazarite was one who was an uncommon believer, who vowed to follow God in a greater and deeper way. They were standard bearers and shining lights in Israel. Their lives were to be distinct for God, and they were to point others to God from their lives. The three notable Nazarites in the Bible were Samson, Samuel, and John Baptist, but they were called to be Nazarites from the womb. All of their mothers were barren, not able to have children until they gave birth to Nazarites.

"Oh my God!" wasn't just Joey Styles's famous catchphrase in ECW, it's also what many wrestling fans exclaim when something wild happens like a crazy spot or a surprise appearance. On this episode, Andrew is joined by first-time guest and actual pastor Josh to play songs with the word God (or Gods) in the title. They don't have to be religious songs, just the word will do. Artists played include Queens of the Stone Age, Ida Maria, Monsters of Folk, Coldplay, Beach Boys, Def Leppard, John Denver, and many more. Despite a nightmarish amount of scheduling and technical issues that went into recording this episode, it's still a lot of fun, so give it a listen!Theme song: "Hemispheres" by Silent PartnerBluesky: @MusicoftheMat / @justandrewAll VOW podcasts, articles, previews, and reviews: VoicesofWrestling.comJoin the VOW Discord to discuss Music of the Mat and other shows/topics: VoicesofWrestling.com/DiscordDonate to Music of the Mat and other VOW podcasts: VoicesofWrestling.com/DonateAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

One of the ways that wrestlers and musicians are alike is that they are not set in stone. Just like a wrestler is often prone to changing their gimmick, a musician is often prone to changing their sound. On this episode, Andrew is joined again by Jeremy Sexton (Voices of Wrestling) to look at some instances of bands and artists changing things up with their music. Artists played include Led Zeppelin, Nas, Bee Gees, Black Eyed Peas, Ministry, Metallica, Rush, John Mayer Trio, and many more. We break down what this case means, and fill you in on all the outrageous tricks clown lawmakers across the country are playing trying to destroy access to reproductive care. It was a packed show full of rage and shenanigans and the DC crowd LOVED IT! This episode unpacks the arguments in Medina v Planned Parenthood South Atlantic, a case that could upend Medicaid beneficiaries ability to enforce their rights under the public benefit program all because conservatives hate abortion. We get into the history of efforts to kick Planned Parenthood out of the Medicaid program, the bad faith arguments made by conservatives to the Court as they try to do so again, and how a bad decision in the case could impact way more than access to abortion. Recorded LIVE at the Black Cat in DC, we gotta give a huge shout out and special thanks to the Black Cat crew for making the space for our loud asses AND for everyone who showed up! Tune in for the legal brilliance, the laughs, the knowledge, and some actions you can take to be the change you wanna see in this world. Times are heavy, but knowledge is power, y'all. We gotchu. Pro wrestling championships often have some sort of regional designation in their name to distinguish them, à la the United States Championship or the Intercontinental Championship. The WWE European Championship was one such title (though its list of champions wasn't exactly a map of the EU). On this episode, Andrew is joined by returning guest Paul Völsch (Emerald FlowShow) to play artists who are from Continental Europe. To clarify, there will be no UK or Ireland representation, but Scandinavia and Iceland are included. Artists featured include Röyksopp (Norway), Peter Fox (Germany), Air (France), Måneskin (Italy), Björk (Iceland), Sabaton (Sweden), DJ Sammy (Spain), and many more. Paul Hutchinson: How Do We END Child Trafficking? | The Hopeaholics PodcastPaul Hutchinson, a former real estate tycoon turned global anti-child trafficking advocate whose courageous journey inspired the hit film Sound of Freedom. Once a billionaire managing over $20 billion in assets with a lavish lifestyle marked by ego, greed, and addiction, Paul's life took a dramatic turn when he was recruited to fund and lead a historic child rescue mission in Colombia, saving 124 children in a single day. Over a decade, he spearheaded over 70 undercover operations across 15 countries, confronting the darkest corners of humanity while grappling with his own inner demons. In this raw and inspiring conversation, Paul opens up about his past as “Paul f***ing Hutchinson,” living a life of excess with mansions, private jets, and parties, until a transformative healing retreat using psilocybin helped him confront childhood trauma and rebuild his spiritual connection, moving him from self-destruction to purpose-driven service. He shares alarming truths about the U.S. as the world's top consumer of child pornography, the link between unhealed trauma and addiction, and how most traffickers were once victims themselves. Offering hope, Paul emphasizes practical solutions like daily prayer with loved ones to strengthen relationships and actionable steps to break generational curses, urging listeners to heal the “hell out of humanity” to end the demand for exploitation. Through his Child Liberation Foundation and Liberating Humanity platform, Paul continues to rescue children, advocate for trauma recovery, and guide others toward spiritual alignment. Paris sits down with her friend, artist, and talented, Bil Brown. They kick off the conversation with a lighthearted discussion about Bil's long hair and a humorous, unexpected suggestion of a live haircut. Bil shares a funny anecdote about his last haircut being during the pandemic and a Jim Morrison quote about bad haircuts. Paris then reminisces about how she first met Bil years ago at a convention in Las Vegas, even before their more memorable meeting at Leica, a detail she didn't recall until much later. Bil then discusses his "Black and Gray" magazine, which is making a comeback, and mentions his collaboration with Matt Mercury, who will be an associate publisher.Bil delves into his diverse professional background, starting with his MFA in avant-garde poetry from the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics at Naropa University, a Buddhist college. He recounts how he became a photographer by accident after working for a modeling agency and shares fascinating stories about meeting comedian Jeff Garlin and being introduced to Robert Frank by Allen Ginsberg. He also details his involvement with the Ginsberg archive at Stanford, where he photographed Ginsberg's India journals with his Leica. The conversation then shifts to Bil's 15-year career as an agent, where his major client was Amazon Fashion, overseeing 600+ photographers, stylists, and digitechs across numerous studios. He reveals the shocking reason for the end of his relationship with Amazon: they were using his talent to train their AI, and then proposed a "collab agreement" where he would pay them to hire his talent, which he refused.Inspired by these experiences, Bil shares his new "vow of photography," mirroring his earlier "vow of poetry" to "make the world safe for photography" in the face of AI. He emphasizes the importance of content credentials in cameras like the Leica M11-P to prove authenticity. They touch upon the controversial situation surrounding Nick Ut's iconic photo and the ongoing debate about attribution. Bil also discusses his family history, including his Cherokee great-grandfather and his surprising connection to the wealthy Brown family of Louisville, Kentucky. He closes by sharing a poem from his Kerouac School days and his vision for the revived "Black and Gray" magazine, aiming to feature both renowned and emerging artists while incorporating street photography ethics into editorial work.Show Notes:www.theparischongshow.com/episodes/bil-brown-from-avant-garde-poetry-fashion-photography-black-gray-magazine-to-art-aiChapters:(00:00:00) Intro(00:00:28) Bil Brown(00:02:21) Black & Grey(00:11:22) Amazon(00:13:14) Vow of Photography(00:16:20) Magnum(00:19:28) #1 Dad(00:21:58) 100 Years of Leica Block Party(00:24:11) Black & Grey Reissue(00:29:43) Street Photographers(00:34:20) Thoughts on AI(00:39:57) Film vs Digital(00:46:32) Outro
If I've said it once I've said it a hundred times… we all have phrases that are said in repeat. And things our kids will VOW never to say to their own progeny (they probably will but in a different way but whatever, you can be right, kid.) Ultimately, repetition is how humans learn. And she children are just humans in beta mode, we repeat ourselves. Kids are people who aren't good at being people yet so we have to say the same things over and over again. Our job is not to raise good kids but to raise good adults which means we spend a lot of time repetitively repeating ideas. (See what I did there.). This episode of Childproof we discuss the mantras in our house on repeat. The Industry Relations Podcast is now available on your favorite podcast player! In this episode of Industry Relations, Rob and Greg tackle the thorny question of who should have access to real estate listing data. Prompted by a Wired article about college students using Zillow to assess classmates' wealth, Rob argues that the real estate industry should move some listing details—like interior photos and price history—behind a broker-consumer relationship. Greg pushes back, defending the value of open data and the impossibility of cleanly separating legitimate buyers from “random voyeurs.” The conversation dives deep into VOW rules, privacy, and what it means to be a consumer in 2025. Key Takeaways Prompt for the Episode – A Wired article reveals that young people are using Zillow to snoop on classmates' family wealth, raising privacy questions. Rob's Proposal – Rob suggests moving data like days on market, interior photos, and price change history to the VOW feed instead of IDX. VOW vs. IDX – They revisit the 2006 DOJ/NAR settlement that created Virtual Office Websites and debate whether its definitions still work in 2025. Who Is a “Legitimate” Consumer? – Rob proposes that anyone willing to speak to an agent qualifies, while Greg argues that even dreamers browsing for years could be future buyers. Advertising vs. Research Data – They attempt to draw a distinction between marketing information meant to attract interest and data meant to inform a buyer's decision. Barriers and Incentives – Greg warns that placing obstacles in front of consumers—even just requiring a lead form—might diminish site traffic and engagement. Portals and Traffic Obsession – Discussion of how Zillow, Realtor.com, and Homes.com measure success by traffic volume, and why reducing public data might not align with their incentives. Consumer Privacy vs. Industry Benefit – Rob argues that the industry has no obligation to serve voyeurs, while Greg questions whether we can—or should—attempt to limit access. A Potential VOW Framework – The episode closes with a thought experiment: Should consumers need to name an agent (or form a relationship) before accessing detailed listing info? Samson is not a story about a strong courageous hero but how we compromise to sin. We cannot be our own hero, we need a savior to free us from the slavery of our sin. Samson is a flawed, impulsive figure who reflects the unfaithfulness of Israel—and of us. Though chosen and empowered by God, he continually breaks his vow and does what is right in his own eyes. Where Samson failed in strength, Jesus triumphed in weakness.Sermon Preached by Bryan Martinez on July 13, 2025Foothill Church exists to glorify God by living as disciples of Jesus who make disciples of Jesus.https://foothill.churchLearn about our For the Sake of His Name 2-Year Discipleship Journey:https://foothill.church/FTSOHN

Drawing from Psalm 23:5 and powerful biblical and modern illustrations, he exposes the danger of “running on empty” in life and ministry. From the tragic plane crash of a seasoned pilot to the foolish virgins who had no oil when the bridegroom arrived, this message is a wake-up call: It's not enough to look okay on the outside—your tank must be full on the inside.Learn: • Why spiritual burnout is often mistaken for normal ministry life. • The signs that you're ministering without the power of the Holy Spirit. • How God prepares a feast in the middle of your fiercest battle. • Why daily renewal is not optional in the last days. • And how to step into God's overflow and receive supernatural refreshing.
Blood can give a wrestling match some much needed drama and memorable visuals. When wrestlers need to bleed during a match, they "run the razor" (quite literally) on their own flesh to achieve the desired effect. On this episode, Andrew and returning guest Kevin Hare (Voices of Wrestling, 185 Miles South) play songs with blood, bleed, etc. in the title. Artists played include U2, Concrete Blonde, The New Pornographers, Agent Orange, Jimmy Eat World, Iron Maiden, Slayer, and many more. Pro wrestling has plenty of stipulation matches, but one of the most common is the Street Fight. It's essentially just another name for a No DQ match... or a Hardcore match... or a Weapons Wild match... or whatever other silly name you come up with. Regardless of the name, this match type has inspired this episode. Andrew and returning guest Warren Hayes (The Mr. Warren Hayes Show, Voices of Wrestling) play songs that have street suffixes in the title (street, road, drive, avenue, etc.), or in some cases are the names of actual streets.
