ANYONE SEEN RITCHIE???That's the central question driving this pulpy action thriller starring Steven Seagal (Under Siege, Hard To Kill, Marked For Death) during his breakout period in the early '90's.  Here he plays Gino Felino, a dogged NYPD cop on a mission....to capture the killer of his partner.  That would be the aforementioned Richie Madano, a cranked out mob enforcer played by William Forsythe (Raising Arizona, The Rock, Dick Tracy, Stone Cold) who seemes to be on a mission of his own....to rampage around Brooklyn causing trouble. :o And a chaotic cat-and-mouse ensues between cop and robber, leaving in its wake a lot of broken glass and broken limbs!  This often (unintentionally) funny action thriller was directed by the late, great John Flynn (Rolling Thunder, Lock Up, Brain Scan) and also co-stars Jerry Orbach, Jo Champa, Gina Gershon, Julianna Margulies, and Dominic Chianese.  Host & Editor: Geoff GershonProducer: Marlene Gershon Send us Fan MailSupport the showhttps://livingforthecinema.com/Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/Living-for-the-Cinema-Podcast-101167838847578Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/livingforthecinema/Letterboxd:https://letterboxd.com/Living4Cinema/

Visit: https://longevitybuilderbook.com/Episode 3: The RiskTheme: Risk Compression & The Structural Architecture of ResilienceHost: ShaneGuest: John Ranello (75-year-old Longevity Practitioner)Most people view disease as a "random strike" of lightning. This episode deconstructs that myth, reframing health not as the absence of illness, but as the presence of Structural Resilience. Through the lens of the Longevity Flywheel™, Shane explains how to transition from a "dead wheel" (stagnant health) to a self-reinforcing system that makes you biologically "Hard to Kill."Health is not a battle of willpower; it is a momentum game. The Flywheel consists of four reinforcing quadrants:Phase 1: Fitness Improves Biomarkers – Movement (VO₂ max, strength) triggers internal shifts (Insulin sensitivity, lower ApoB).Phase 2: Biomarkers Improve Behavior – Better biology (stable glucose, lower inflammation) results in higher energy and clearer moods, reducing the "friction" of discipline.Phase 3: Behavior Reinforces Fitness – Improved energy leads to more consistent, higher-quality training sessions.Phase 4: Risk Compression – As the wheel spins faster, the "terrain" of the body becomes inhospitable to chronic disease (Heart Disease, Dementia, Cancer).A biological "surge protector" for the body. High oxygen efficiency (VO₂ max) creates a buffer that protects the heart, brain, and metabolic systems from systemic "brownouts" or failures. Not all health variables are equal. This framework prioritizes High-Impact Variables (VO₂ max, blood pressure, insulin sensitivity) over "wellness fads" and minor supplement optimizations.John serves as the "living proof" of the frameworks. At 75, his VO₂ max (48.5) sits in the top 1–5% of his age bracket. The Philosophy: Rejecting "passive decline" as the default. The Discipline: A 40-minute warm-up and a focus on power/sprinting to maintain neurological "youth."The Takeaway: John represents Compounded Adaptation—decades of keeping the flywheel moving.

In this episode of Peak Human, Brian Sanders sits down with physician, athlete, and author Dr. Jaime Seeman to discuss what it really takes to become "hard to kill." Dr. Seeman is a practicing OB-GYN, former Mrs. Nebraska, competitive athlete, and metabolic health advocate. After struggling with her own metabolic issues, including prediabetes and hypothyroidism, she transformed her health through diet, strength training, and lifestyle changes. Together, Brian and Dr. Seeman explore how metabolic dysfunction develops, why muscle is one of the most powerful tools for longevity, and why focusing on nutrients instead of calories may be the key to fixing modern health problems. They also dive into women's metabolic health, perimenopause, visceral fat, and the role of diet evolution—from ketogenic to carnivore to a flexible real-food approach. This conversation breaks down the science of human nutrition and performance while offering practical strategies for living stronger, longer, and healthier.   Show Notes 04:00 – Why modern medicine focuses on treatment instead of prevention 07:00 – The growing movement for metabolic health 11:00 – Diet tribes vs. real food 12:00 – Dr. Seeman's personal metabolic health journey 15:00 – Keto, carnivore, and evolving diets 18:00 – The Sapien lifestyle: eating like humans evolved to eat 20:00 – Women's hormones, carbs, and the menstrual cycle 23:00 – Fasted training and metabolic flexibility 27:00 – Nutrient density vs calorie counting 31:00 – Muscle: the most overlooked organ in medicine 33:00 – Visceral fat and hidden metabolic disease 35:00 – Beauty and nutrition 42:00 – C-sections, childbirth, and the infant microbiome   BEEF TALLOW PRODUCTS: NosetoTail.org Preorder the film here: http://indiegogo.com/projects/food-lies-post    Film site: http://FoodLies.org YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/FoodLies   Follow along: http://twitter.com/FoodLiesOrg http://instagram.com/food.lies http://facebook.com/FoodLiesOrg

Our Hard to Kill 1990 Review kicks off with a simple truth: the late 80s and early 90s were the golden age of action heroes. Stallone, Schwarzenegger and Willis ruled the world… and then along came a man with a ponytail, a whisper voice and an absolute obsession with breaking forearms. This week Whitey, Dan and Will the Worky step back into the dojo to tackle Steven Seagal's second ever film, Hard to Kill (1990). A movie that, at the time, felt like the arrival of the next unstoppable action icon… and now feels like a fever dream involving aikido, silk shirts and extremely uncomfortable sex scenes.Seagal plays Mason Storm, a cop who uncovers political corruption and is immediately shot, along with his wife, in what might be the least secure safe house ever filmed. Storm survives after being pumped full of shotgun pellets and spending seven years in a coma. Yes, seven years. And apparently, all it takes to recover is a massage, a training montage and a nurse who instantly falls in love with him. From there, the movie becomes a revenge story, but also, somehow, a romance, a conspiracy thriller, a martial arts film, and a weird Seagal self-fantasy all rolled into one.The boys dive deep into: • The unbelievable hospital security • The most aggressive love scene ever filmed • Mason Storm's questionable medical recovery • The ponytail era of action cinema • And why nobody recognises the villain's voice despite him repeating the same catchphrase constantly There are discussions about video store culture, the 1990 action boom, and how Seagal briefly convinced the world he belonged alongside the legends. But time has not been kind to Hard to Kill. Watching it today reveals something different. Schwarzenegger knew he was in on the joke. Bruce Willis had charm. Seagal genuinely believes he is the most dangerous man alive… and that may be the biggest reason this film is unintentionally hilarious.Still, there are broken bones, exploding pool cues, corrupt cops and more arm snapping than a chiropractor convention. And honestly… that's why we kind of love talking about it.JOIN THE CONVERSATION Is Seagal the strangest action star of all time? Does Hard to Kill accidentally become a comedy? And is this the most confident bad movie ever made?Leave a review, share the episode and send it to a mate who still thinks Seagal could win a real fight.#BornToWatch #HardToKill #StevenSeagal #90sAction #ActionMovies #MoviePodcast #CultMovies #BadMoviesGoodTimes #VideoStoreEra #FilmReview

I'm not so vain as to think that my investment philosophy is one that ought to be emulated or studied by others (quite the opposite, in fact: I am a work-in-progress at best, and a complete novice at worst). On today's episode  I speak about trying to relive my youth that i never lived. I dusted off the not so old skateboard that i bought 3 years ago and tried to live out my video game persona. It went better than i thought, not the best but not the worse, and I got noticed by international folks aka tourist that were taking pictures of the background that i was in. From there I went to get something to eat and i tried to be a good samaritan but this man would not let me help him, and i have no clue why. Then we jump into a co worker finding my show and trying to gripe towards me about a PTL question and it did not work out for them.DEKHO MERU JADU - ASHA BHOSLEMOB - KAL BANX FT SIR(00:00 - 27:58)On the movie review section we talk about film movies and other things and give the worse takes. This week i speak about  “ HARD TO KILL”  and this movie was a 90's throwback. This classic is a Steven Seagal flick, and it was super cheesy and over the top i loved it. This man always happens to find the baddies to fall in love with him and somehow always end up in an asian neighborhood in middle america. This move has it all crime, political corruption, baddies and suspense along with a 90's workout montage. (27:59 - 45:11)I then jump into The Cool Report  where we discuss Taylor Swift dropping the latest fashion trend, apparently nazis fashion is back in full affect. Somehow in the same vain we're still in the same subject but with different people. An influencer asked a loaded question to a new young influencer to set them up for failure. The question on Israel vs Palestine which leaves a lot of people scared to answer due to consequences of a choice. From there we jump into a woman facing serious fines and time for using a EBT card to buy ingredient for her baking business. My question is how did they find out about her using that card for her business. (45:12 - 57:35)We then step into a segment where the listeners ask me 3 questions about myself or just randomness. A character wants to know what gives me the qualifications to speak on what body type is desirable and which is not, totally misunderstanding my response to the question. Another character wants did a guest appearance on a podcast and might have divulged too much leading to the always asked question how can i do this without upsetting people. The answer is no, pretty simple. I also get asked about the podcast industry drama, and wanted to know if i would try to throw my hat into consideration like I have a chance. (57:36 - 01:15:02)Then we have 2 fans ask us a questions for PTL where we get asked the tough questions where we place ourselves in their shoes. The story so far: Three boys are trapped in an underground movie store run by a moleman named MoleMan and bide their time watching trash films and going on stupid adventures. This week, Eric is missing again, so we cope by watching Hard to Kill (1990) starring someone we've never had on the show before: Steven Seagal! Will his charisma-less acting win us over, or will we veer too far of track discussing action movie character names, ways to shave a patient in a seven-year coma, divorced dad energy, and how there's no such thing as too many squibs! If you dig us, why not check out our other podcast Greg's Cryptid Corner? It's fun, has the same hosts, and we talk about spooky monsters that Greg believes are real and Eric and Dan are still skeptical of. It's fun. You'll like it.
