Kurt Russell, Apple, and Godzilla are an unlikely trio - but can they work together to produce a compelling MonsterVerse entry? Jake and Jay go through their overall thoughts on the series - was it necessary? Did the kaiju deliver? Would they watch a second season? In addition, the big news in G-dom is that Godzilla is up for an Oscar!!! It only took 70 years - but Toho's money-making monster has a chance to bring home the gold (and totally should!). But, was he snubbed for other major awards? Jake has a few pickup and the duo go over some funky new releases and news from Anraku Ansaku, Titan Publishing, and Titanic Creations. **apologies for some audio issues**

According to Deadline's Alexandra Del Rosario, Noble (The Lord of the Rings, FRINGE) will voice the character known as The Diviner: “a ruthless tyrant who controls the asteroids of Tars Lampora…and will stop at nothing in his hunt for the Protostar ship, no matter the cost.” Simpson (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Westworld, Breakout Kings) voices Drednok, “the Diviner's deadly robotic enforcer…heartless and cold.” ...yeah, checks out. STAR TREK GAMING NEWS Edited by Thomas Reynolds Time Is On Our Side By Cat Hough Well, the time has come at last [again–Ed.]! Star Trek Online announced the Temporal Recruitment Event returns on all platforms, just in time to celebrate Star Trek Day on September 8th. Since we're playing through the Original Series-era content for this event, the devs have gone through and made some visual updates and updated cutscenes as well as improving the missions themselves. Plus, Temporal Agent goals have been updated to include some new ones, and removed some goals from missions that are no longer in the game, so you don't have to worry about finding Temporal Probes in places that you can no longer reach. You'll be able to earn bonuses for reaching level 60, marks for all of the reputations that have been added to the game, and rewards for engaging in R&D and specializations. Existing Temporal Agents will be able to complete these new goals as well, and if you've already finished them, you can claim the rewards immediately. Tell me they changed the prefix code, at least. Image: Cryptic Studios. Remember, to become a Temporal Agent and gain access to the rewards, you must make a new TOS Starfleet character, during the event, then you must play the tutorial until you receive your special Temporal Agent transceiver device. Once you receive the device, your character is a Temporal Agent and you can complete the goals any time and claim the rewards, even after the event ends. Dancing Data in Fleet Command By Rosco McQueen Star Trek Fleet Command just dropped a new teaser featuring Brent Spiner loosening up for co-star LeVar Burton after playing “an emotionless android for years.” [same–Ed.] This continues Fleet Command's ongoing efforts to bring in Trek celebrities for their promotions: earlier this year they had Sonequa Martin-Green and Karl Urban. Recent promos have leaned into TNG to showcase the latest updates to the game; in addition to Spiner and Burton, Jonathan Frakes also shows up in the promo.

I'd love to start first with the recently announced, Regarding the Matter of Oswald's Body #1, can you tell us a little bit about this new series and how long has this been in the works?Okay, we're admittedly conspiracy theory junkies. Is it safe to say you enjoy getting lost down those kinds of rabbit holes? What is the research process like for this series? With Regarding the Matter of Oswald, She Could Fly: Fight or Flight on the way in October, and two Marvel titles ongoing atm, it's fair to say this is the most comics writing you've done at one time. I was curious now that you're a year out or so from Dr. Doom, how does writing in the comics format compare to writing for television? At the same time, it feels like you're just getting started, are there any bucket list titles you'd like to work on?There's a certain cosmic entity that shows up in Iron Man #11 (Living Tribunal but don't say to avoid spoilers), how rad was it to write such a huge character, and was he always in the cards to use in the story arc? With The United States of Captain America, what was the new Captain America creation process like? Did you have a hand in curating the creators who would make these Cap's Steve Rogers meets on the road? US of Captain America has a very “road movie” vibe to the pacing and overall tone. What are some of your favorite road movies, and did you throw any on while cracking this story? The Blue Flame is incredibly impactful in how juxtaposes the cosmic superhero story and smaller real-world story. How did scripting of this series shake out and was it always these two concurrent stories going at once? With Blue Flame, did any series inform how you wrote the cosmic scenes, like Flash Gordon or Buck Rogers? The look of the cosmic scenes in this series are so memorable. What's the collaboration process been like with Adam Gorham, Kurt Michael Russell, and Hassan Otsmane-Elhau?This series has an original soundtrack written by your friend Aaron Fischer (who one of the many Caps has been named after)! How did that come about?Substack has taken over the comics news airwaves, what are your thoughts on the platform? What comics are you reading right now?Off Topic Top Shelf: Baseball cards
