The tension is further heightened when Tanis demands they all leave as soon as possible the next morning. After arguing with the Captain of the Maquesta, Tanis and Company sail out of Flotsam. Tanis Jorge opens up about a fascinating paradox in his entrepreneurial journey. After 25+ years of building successful businesses with his high school best friend and co-founder - including multiple successful exits - he found himself questioning his own abilities when he went solo for the first time. Ironically, his new venture is The Cofounder's Hub, a business focused on partnership strategies, yet he's building it alone. Jorge candidly admits he's caught between self-doubt and belief, wondering if his previous success was due to the partnership dynamic rather than his individual capabilities. He's refreshingly honest about being "in the middle of the ride" - not completely doubting himself, but not at 100% confidence either. It's a raw look at how even seasoned entrepreneurs face imposter syndrome when stepping outside their comfort zone.Watch Full Podcast- http://bit.ly/4f7g6D3
Tanis Jorge, Founder of The Cofounder's Hub and Trulioo, gets real about self-belief - it's not a constant state, it's a rollercoaster with inevitable highs and lows. The key insight? Recognizing that self-doubt is temporary prevents you from getting stuck in those low moments forever. Jorge emphasizes how reading stories of other entrepreneurs who've survived their own rollercoasters becomes essential fuel for resilience. It builds a mental framework that reminds you, "this too shall pass" when times get tough. Her advice centers on believing in your unique ability to make your venture work while avoiding the trap of comparing yourself to others. It's about developing sustainable confidence that can weather the inevitable ups and downs of entrepreneurship.Watch Full Podcast- http://bit.ly/4f7g6D3

This episode's guest, Mr. Randy Tanis, is closely linked with Maranatha and Watertown, having graduated from MBU and having served as youth pastor at Calvary Baptist Church for 21 years. Originally, Randy came to college to play football, but then “surrendered to stay.” Working with Neighborhood Bible Time for three summers, he was drawn into youth ministry. He and host Dr. Matt Davis reminisce about how that decision remains the platform for his life's mission despite transitions in positions. Randy explains his determination as a youth pastor to center all youth activities on service, to recruit college students as helpers whom he could also mentor, and now as a camp director, to devote primary attention to preparing his college-aged staff to serve.

Tanis and Kitiara get close, real close, and catch up. Kitiara spills the beans on Takhisis' goals and urges Tanis to join her in fulfilling them. Tanis disappoints everyone with his decision. Meanwhile, Sturm's elevation to full knighthood drives Derek Crownguard insane and completely shatters whatever semblance of unity the Knights of Solamnia at the High Clerist's Tower had. This makes an already bad situation worse as the Knights aren't really wanted by anyone in Palanthas. Laurana has brought the dragonlances to the Knights but most of the soldiers and knights don't think they'll be of any use, as they're badly outnumbered and low on food. Caroline Tanis discusses what makes up a good compensation plan that employers should offer their workers and where you can start if you feel like you can't afford those plans.
On today's podcast, I chat with Tanis Allen, a certified IFS therapist and longtime member of the IFS community. Tanis has been around since the earliest days of the model, and she just released a new book called The Self-Led IFS Workbook: Learn IFS Skills to Understand and Love All Your Parts published by Penguin Random House. We talk about her early experiences learning IFS in the ‘90s, her work with clients struggling with suicidality and eating disorders, and what it was like to write a book that makes the model accessible to everyone. Tanis shares insights on how to begin IFS on your own, the challenge of translating an oral and experiential tradition into clear written steps, and her favorite exercise for working with stuck parts. Key Takeaways: “Your awareness is the beginning of Self.” Tanis explains how simply noticing what's happening in your body or mind is the first step into the IFS process. How do you know you're in a part? Tanis breaks down how to begin this work, even if you're doing it on your own. “IFS is such a strong community… we sit in circles together and learn this together.” Tanis reflects on the power of shared learning and the influence of the “wise women” who helped shape the model. Why she added her own transcripts of parts work to the book, and what she discovered about herself through writing them. Her favorite exercise (the Four Drawing Exercise) and why it's so transformational for working with stuck parts. Favorite Quote: “Clients will often ask me, you know, does this make me like a multiple personality person or something? And, you know, the answer is no, we're all made this way, actually. And it does feel kind of weird sometimes. But the more we do it, the more we practice it, the less weird it feels." -- Tanis Allen About Tanis Allen Tanis Allen, LMSW, ACSW, is the author of The Self-Led Internal Family Systems Workbook: Learn to Use IFS Skills to Understand and Love All Your Parts. On today's episode, Dr. Jenny Tanis of the Hope College School of Social Work and Dr. Sacha Klein of the Michigan State University School of Social Work join to talk about their research into the impact of State paid family leave policies on infant maltreatment. The United States is among the few developed countries without paid family leave as a national policy. But four states have long had local leave policies in place: California, New Jersey, New York and Rhode Island. Tanis and Klein wanted to see what, if any, impact this had on infant maltreatment in those states compared to trends in other states. Lean of peak is causing odd vibrations in a Commander, and the hosts discuss proper troubleshooting. Plus carb heat on the ground, dehydrators, and parts no longer manufactured. Email podcasts@aopa.org for a chance to get on the show. Full notes below. Chip said his mechanic is concerned about lean of peak because we don't know the actual temperature at the valve, as the temperature is taken downstream. Colleen makes the point that EGT temperatures are fine because it's well below the valve limit temperature. Mike said valves burn only when they don't seat properly. They shed their heat through physical contact with the seat at the cylinder head. They also shed it through the valve stem. Detonation once flying lean of peak isn't a concern. It's getting to that point that's the biggest risk. Paul suggests that once you know the fuel flow at your desired power setting you can lean straight to that fuel flow and not worry about EGT or CHT until it's set and stable. Chip is also concerned about a vibration in the floor of his Rockwell Commander. Mike suggests he do some testing to help isolate the issue. If it goes away at certain rpms, then it suggests that it's an engine-based issue. At a constant rpm but with changing pitch, it suggests a potential airflow or airframe source. Frank is questioning the logic of the Luscombe handbook. It says to put the carb heat on for takeoff. It's also placarded that way on the panel. The hosts can't figure out why this would be required. The hosts suggest he ignore the handbook and operate as he would in other airplanes, in part because the engine would be breathing unfiltered air while on the ground. Bill has a Cessna 180 on floats with an O-470-50 engine. For the last few months he hasn't been flying as much and he wants to preserve the longevity of the engine. He is looking for details on engine dehydrators and whether they actually work. Colleen looked through some research and found that those who had done some side-by-side testing had found good results. Mike said Tanis found that people who ran their heaters all the time were causing corrosion, but that if they use engine dehydrators they are fine to run the heater all the time. In other words, they seem to work. Mark is pushing back on airport naysayers that tell him autofuel is dangerous. He flies airplanes with older, small Continentals, and with all the info that has come out on the transition away from 100LL, he's wondering if he should be worried. Mike said running on autofuel is the best thing he can do for his engine. People tell Mark he has to run at least half low lead. Mike said they've never seen issues with low compression engines running on autofuel. Mark flies from an airport a mile high, and locals are also telling him that vapor lock is also an issue.
Welcome to Day 2491 of Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me. This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom – Theology Thursday – Why the Ark of the Covenant Will Never be Found – I Dare You Not To Bore Me With The Bible. Wisdom-Trek Podcast Script - Day 2491 Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps! I am Guthrie Chamberlain, and we are on Day 2491 of our Trek. The Purpose of Wisdom-Trek is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, and to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Today is the twenty-eighth lesson in our segment, Theology Thursday. Utilizing excerpts from a book titled: I Dare You Not To Bore Me With The Bible written by Hebrew Bible scholar and professor the late Dr. Michael S Heiser, we will invest a couple of years going through the entire Bible, exploring short Biblical lessons that you may not have received in Bible classes or Church. The Bible is a wonderful book. Its pages reveal the epic story of God's redemption of humankind and the long, bitter conflict against evil. Yet it's also a book that seems strange to us. While God's Word was written for us, it wasn't written to us. Today's lesson is: Why the Ark of the Covenant Will Never Be Found. I can still recall the thrill of first seeing Raiders of the Lost Ark. As a young adult, I had already been infected with the Biblical archaeology bug. This movie boosted my interest to a whole new level. As Providence would have it, I followed the path of Indiana Jones—at least on a cursory basis. I'm still fascinated by the ark, but I no longer believe it is lost and awaiting discovery. I have Jeremiah to blame for that. The idea that the ark of the covenant survived Nebuchadnezzar's invasion of Judah is based on the absence of any explicit reference to the ark being among the vessels of gold carried to Babylon (2 Chr 36:5-8). Likewise, the list of items brought back to Judah after the end of the exile makes no mention of the ark (Ezra 1:5-11). The simplest explanation is that the ark was among the “vessels of gold in the temple of the Lord” that Nebuchadnezzar cut to pieces (2 Kgs 24:13). No one would pay to see that movie. From ancient times until the present day, people have resisted the idea that God would allow Nebuchadnezzar to destroy Israel's holiest object. Testifying to the power of this resistance, there are nearly a dozen theories on how the ark survived. Some of these theories are drawn from biblical events. Perhaps Hezekiah gave the ark to Sennacherib as part of his tribute payment (2 Kgs 18). Might it have been removed by faithful priests when Manasseh put an idol in the temple (2 Kgs 21:1-9)? Indiana Jones told millions that Pharaoh Shishak took the ark to the city of Tanis in Egypt when he invaded Jerusalem (1 Kgs 14:25- 28). Perhaps the most intricate theory involves Menelik I, the alleged son of Solomon and the Queen of Sheba, taking the ark to Ethiopia. The Ethiopian royal chronicle, the Kebra Nagast, presents this idea so seriously that rulers of Ethiopia well into the 20th century had to prove their descent from Menelik I. Other theories grew out of specific passages in ancient texts. 2 Maccabees 2:5 records Jeremiah hiding the ark in a cave before Nebuchadnezzar's invasion. 2 Baruch 6:1-9 describes the ark being supernaturally swallowed up by the earth before the invasion,...
