On November 12th, 2012, the Accomack County volunteer fire departments got a call. An abandoned house had suddenly gone up in flames. And then, just hours later, a second fire was reported. Then a third. Over the next few months, there would be a lot more fires—nearly 90 in all. It was all anyone could talk about in Accomack. Someone was burning down the entire county. Please join me for this enigmatic interview with the lovely Jocellyn Harvey, published author and Certified Success Coach for women. Three things I will say about Jocellyn right off the bat: she is incredibly grounded and authentic, and has a stunning smile that truly lights up the screen. In our time together we discuss Jocellyn’s book, Recovering the Home and why she was inspired to write a book that focused on ways to exist and feel good in our home environment while in recovery. She shares about her writing technique and takes us through a four step process in how to re-create your environment. We also touch on what it was like to leave twelve step recovery and both share insights into this aspect of our journeys. Joceylln offers an astute understanding in taking a softer approach to live, setting realistic goals and celebrating them, and explains why she left Instagram. She also shares a practical strategy for creating I Am statements that resonate and are true for us.
