Like Bob Quinn, Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig was also recently out of the country. He traveled to Vietnam and The Philippines promoting the trade of Iowa ag products including pork and soybeans. Ross Dean, SVP of Sales for Versova, calls in to tell us about their program to donate 108,000 eggs to the Food Bank of Iowa. Joe Kerns with Partners for Production Agriculture and Iowa Cattlemen's Heritage Beef Company brings us the information on the new Legacy Beef Co-op and how to attend a meeting to learn about the new operation.
In this episode, I invited Abhijeet Anand - Founder of abCoffee, a brand which is on a mission to bring specialty coffee to every Indian at affordable rates. Specialty premium coffee is not yet mainstream in India. The Indian middle class doesn't consume freshly brewed coffee on a daily basis. The prime reason? It is extremely costly. Abhijeet understood that, when he went on a trail across India to taste coffee brewed in different parts of the country. And that's how the idea of abCoffee was born. With abCoffee, Abhijeet wants to democratize specialty coffee. He wants to brew premium coffee that caters to the Indian palate. abCoffee is unique in the sense that it's not a café or a restaurant but a 'deck' where you can come in, grab your coffee, meet new people & be on your way. As for Abhijeet, I think he is the perfect representation of the brand. Young. Energetic. Passionate. Agile. Talking to him was an absolute pleasure & after recording this episode I had the chance to meet him in person & I got my hands on their Classic Cold Coffee, which was absolutely amazing! We spoke about a range of topics on this episode like: (02:53) – The mysterious man & his journey: Abhijeet Anand (04:44) – What were the events that led Abhijeet to start his own venture? (07:49) – Planning 15 years into the future & working backwards – what is AA's modus operandi? (11:50) – When were the seeds to start a specialty coffee chain sown in AA's mind? (22:28) – A trail across the heart of India to validate the idea for abCoffee (28:45) – Harnessing technology to engineer a cup of coffee + introducing a culture of ‘Grab & Go' (36:48) – What is a Coffee deck? (41:25) – Execution, Execution, Execution (46:13) – What are the BLOCKERS to Growth? (49:17) – Coffee myths & fun facts (55:29) – abCoffee: The story behind the name If you're based out in Mumbai I would really recommend checking out their Coffee decks @ Versova & Powai!

Instagram link: https://www.instagram.com/nascent_carbon/ Divya Bharti (25 February 1974 – 5 April 1993) was an Indian film actress who starred in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil movies in the early 1990s. Known for her acting versatility, vivacity and beauty, she was regarded as one of the most popular and highest paid Indian actresses of her time.[3][4] Bharti aspired to a film career at the age of 14, while she was doing some modelling assignments. She made her debut with a lead role in the successful Telugu drama Bobbili Raja (1990) at the age of 16. After featuring in high-grossing Telugu films, she progressed to Hindi cinema in 1992 with the action thriller Vishwatma. Bharti went on to have commercial success, appearing in films such as Shola Aur Shabnam and Deewana, the latter of which led to her winning the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.[5] She acted in over a dozen Hindi films within a single year, which is still an unbroken record in Hindi cinema. The family room in the house had an open window and it was open. Although the windows had an auto stopping opening but that day there were no auto stop. Divya, at the time when no one was watching, facing her back towards the family room, reached on the tight ledge beneath the window that was around 12 inches wide. She tried to turn around to hold the window and at that very moment, she slipped and felled down with a crash on the solid underneath the window. It was said that there was a parking lot beneath the window, but on that day, not even a single car was parked there. The whole incident happened in a matter of three minutes and she finally landed down in three minutes. As soon as everyone heard the crash, they came running and found Divya lying in a pool of blood. It was reported that she was alive at that time but during her way to the hospital, her heart beats started falling down quickly. It was said that on the same date of her death, the actress had finalized a new apartment for herself and she was very happy as it was really difficult to buy a 4BHK apartment in a city like Mumbai and that is the reason she could not stop gushing about the same to her brother Kunal who then left her apartment. She even postponed her movie shoot in Hyderabad because of the new deal and a bandaged foot. She even informed her producers about the same and then she had to meet her dear friend and designer Neeta Lulla and her husband at her Versova flat. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/abhishek-tiwari007/message
Today is Friday, so of course, I’m going to talk about some Fab Food Folks in just a minute. And share some awesome popcorn flavourings you can make at home and while enjoying a horror movie marathon. I mean it is Friday the 13th - Bwahahahaha! It’s not exactly breaking news that we should be trying to eat organic as much as possible to avoid the deadly pesticides sprayed on produce and fed to livestock. That’s why it’s really cool that so many farmer’s markets are coming up across the city and that too on the weekends. This means you can actually visit them, shop at leisure, interact with some really interesting people doing wonderful things in the space of organic, vegan and what I call FREE FOOD: sugar-free, oil-free, gluten-free, dairy-free and of course, guilt-free because cruelty-free and try out delicious snacks and drinks made from healthy and natural ingredients. These markets are held on the weekend at Malad, Powai, Juhu, Chembur, Bandra, Cuffe Parade, Birla Kreeda Kendra in Girgaon, and Versova. Some are on Saturday and most are on Sunday. They’re usually open in the morning and shut by lunch time. I’ll be sharing exact timings, location, address and contact info for each market on my Facebook page, just look for The Heart Chef, I’ll be sending across the link on whatsapp. Ok so let’s not forget it’s Friday the 13th, and what’s better to snack on during a horror movie marathon that homemade popcorn? But popcorn can get boring. And there’s only so much butter you can drizzle before it starts to taste like a heart attack waiting to happen. So here are some interesting popcorn flavourings you can whip up at home, either making a couple of different batches or keep trying all till you find your fave: So you can either go simply salty, or sweet, or spicy, or sour or you could make killer combos! A sweet and salty one like salted caramel, or a sweet and spicy one such as sweet chilli, or a sweet and not so spicy one like brown sugar, cinnamon and a dash of tabasco, and oh my god, a sweet and sour one with dried mango powder, you know, amchur and either brown sugar or jaggery powder, and for those who like walking that thin line between pleasure and pain, you can go hot and sour – with lemon juice-chilli powder, or vinegar and red chilli powder. You can play with so many permutations and combinations of these, and experiment with more ingredients, the possibilities are endless. No more crappy microwave popcorn! Freedom from carcinogenic gunk that tastes good but lines your arteries for a looooong time. You know what you need to do for the popcorn-flavouring recipes, just hop on over to THC’s Facebook pg or whatsapp me your email address and say POPCORN FLAVOURING RECIPES. That was it for today’s episode, catch you on Sunday where we will Take It Easy and celebrate all the different harvest & spring festivals of India. Plus, I’ll be launching a cuke-lear attack on boring ways to eat cucumber. Because there’s at least 5 different ways to enjoy this water-rich member of the gourd family, and I’m going to share them with you. You have a good start to the weekend and I’ll talk to you next on Sunday. This is me, Simona - The Heart Chef signing off with a big hug. From my heart to yours.

Don’t have time to keep a tab on news throughout the day? CNN News18 brings you the day’s top news and newsmakers in less than 3 minutes! Here are today’s top picks: Doctors say deaths due to asphyxiation and not burns, Narrow exit adds to the evacuation problem ENTERTAINMENT:- Amitabh Bachchan has gifted environmentalist Afroz Shah an excavator and a tractor for cleaning up Versova beach. The actor shared a series of photographs from the beach on his Twitter account. Afroz had started the largest beach-clean up initiative with an aim to clean Mumbai's Versova beach with the help of locals. This is not the first time a celebrity has lent his support for the beach clean up. Previously, actors like Randeep Hooda, Anushka Sharma and Dia Mirza have supported the cause. SPORTS:- India’s Viswanathan Anand has given a fitting reply to all his critics by regaining the World Rapid Chess Championship in Riyadh and staying unbeaten all through. A win against his arch-rival Magnus Carlsen in the ninth round seemed to have spurred him on, as he demolished Russia’s Vladimir Fedoseev in the final in a tie breaker. Anand, who last won this title in 2003, was placed joint second at the start of the final five rounds (11 to 15) on Thursday, but fought back strongly to bag the title on tie-break after a three-way tie with Russians Vladimir Fedoseev and Ian Nepomniachtchi at 10.5 points from a possible 15. Anand then defeated Fedoseev 2-0 in a two-game tie-break to win the championship. TECH:- Facing lawsuits and consumer outrage after it said it slowed older iPhones with flagging batteries, Apple Inc is slashing prices for battery replacements and will change its software to show users whether their phone battery is good. In a posting on its website Thursday, Apple apologized over its handling of the battery issue and said it would make a number of changes for customers "to recognize their loyalty and to regain the trust of anyone who may have doubted Apple’s intentions."
