Charles finally gets to report on his experience at the Martin Creed exhibition at the Mercer Gallery in Harrogate. Graham shares an update on his return to his Vinyl Sessions music talks in a fundraiser for the  Harrogate Hospital charity and lays bare his theories about the end of The Beatles in 1969/70. He also reports on a sublime gig by the David Brewis Orchestra in Leeds performing The Soft Struggles album at Leeds Grand 's Assembly Room - David Brewis being one half of the acclaimed Field Music a venue that Charles argues has come into its own. Charles introduces the new musical theatre production based on the 1989 cult film, Heathers, reckoning that its resonance is even stronger now than when the film was originally made.

Welcome to The Vinyl Sessions, a combination of highlights from the 2022 episodes, and some new content centered around the art and influence of music. This time of year, it can be very difficult for many, myself included. Holidays are stressful in their own category. I still grieve the loss of my parents around this time of year and continue to process grief and loss of my mother, who passed in January 2021. Not a day goes by where I don't think of each of them and what they would want for me. And of course, I ask them for their guidance from above in my life and for whatever influence they can give to help my Georgia Bulldogs to victory on game day. I can struggle in processing my grief, but I know that I am not alone at this time of year. When I enter the “darkness”, music has been an uplifting medicine to keep me afloat, re-energize my body, and stimulate my mind. I love discovering new music, sharing new music, and talking about music.  John Berendt, author of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil (simply called “the Book” in my hometown of Savannah), was quoted as saying: Someone once wrote that musicians are touched on the shoulder by God, and I think it's true. You can make other people happy with music, but you can make yourself happy too. Because of my music, I have never known loneliness and never been depressed. So today, I want to share how my podcast guests over the past year have referred to music and its influence on their life, careers, and mental health. So this was me back on the airwaves on Tues night(15/11/22)..for my fortnightly jaunt into everything D3EP. For this one I went crate diggin' again for part 2 of the ripped vinyl sessions. On a slightly different tip, we visited some of the tracks that I grew my club career on back in the early nineties, crossing the boundaries of Early French and US jazz influenced house through to Chicago/Detroit techno. One thing is certain it was definitely deep with a wonky edge..dust ya hard hats off and enjoy ;) Peace X

A little out of my comfort zone I was asked to play a chill out set at Bay Bar in Ibiza. The music policy was house music, 'house music Mike, no chilled dubstep or liquid drum & bass, house music Mike!!'. He didn't say I couldn't play breaks so...This is my "Chill & Breaks" mix or "Bass & Chill" mix, not sure which one is better.Originally I was going to play this set at Bar Bay on the seafront of San Antonio however due to various reasons the venue wasn't ready to open. Which was a real shame, as I would have been the opening set on the opening day of the season. So this is the set I had planned, put together at home on Ableton. Grab a can of cocktail, get the deck chair out in the garden and imagine an Ibizan sunset. Shouts to Jay, Jethro and James (aka Triple J) who were meant to be on the line up with me. During the "platty joobs" weekend the family, my brother and best mate went to the King Of The Beats all day-er at the Fox & Firkin. It was essentially a large pub garden with a bit of a rave corner. We took our 9 month old, as you know, she needs to get into breakbeat early and it was a lot of fun. This mix is very much inspired by the breakbeat classics played that day. We go into the Bass & Breaks archive and pull out something from 2012, this mix is awesome and was so proud to get this exclusive guest mix. Black Sun Empire meant a lot to me when I was buying vinyl, I loved drum & bass but I couldn't find a sound I was passionate about until I heard these guys. They had a label called BSE Recordings (the precursor to Blackout Music NL) and I'm sure I have most of that back catalog on wax.
