Tendonitis and Muscle Strains - Ugh! Tired of Getting Injured? Ep 247

STRONG DADS!

Strengthening tendons and muscles in our workouts is a must. Like it or not, as we age many of us find ourselves dealling with more tendon issues.  Tennis Elbow, runner's knee, Achille strain, Patellar Femoral Tendonosis, etc…  What's going on here?  As we age our tendons are not trained like our muscles.  We don't hang from trees or run sprints like we used to.  But, we may still find ourselves going to the gym in performing traditional muscle strengthening exercises. This is not all bad, but as we see the muscles getting stronger we may have not taken the time to allow the tendons to strengthen with the muscles.  Before you know it you have a muscle that is stronger than the tendon can handle.  This could be due to strength or over use.  We have come to find out that completely laying off and stopping all exercises is actually not the way to properly heal and get stronger.  We want to continue to workout, but change our focus on what we are working out. Let's start to train the tendon before we get any stronger in the muscles. Advice -Eccentric vs Concentric motionsConcentric is what most of us think about when we are building muscles.  We “contract” the muscle to shorten it and flex the joint.  The muscle bulges and gets shorter and fatter. Eccentric is the lengthening part of the motion.  The extension of the elbow in the curl.  This means the muscle is lengthening. Here's the key, if we are getting tendon issues we are likely working the concentric phase too hard and the muscles are contracting with great tension on the tendon.  The muscle is able to handle it, but the tendon begins to break down or even tear.  So, let's move into placing a sufficient, but not too heavy of a load on the tendon and allow the tendon to be stressed in order to be stimulated for growth, but not so stressed that it tears.  The muscle will likely not work as hard but we are working the tendon at a load that it can handle. Ben Patrick, Knees over Toes Guy,  was one of the guys that I began to follow closely because he has really stressed the importance of strengthening the knees in order for the muscle to be most effective in jumping and running. Sore knees are oftentimes caused by irritated and weak tendons, typically the patellofemoral tendon or the hamstring tendons.  A key point also is to not be afraid to train the joints through their fullest range of motion.  For years coaches told their athletes to not squat with their knees going out past their foot.  Between this and sitting in chairs with our legs bent only at 90º our PFT lost its range of motion and became weak when placed in a movement beyond its trained motion.  For me, this meant sore knees all the time.  Two knee replacements later. The second part of the video is demonstrating with the Kettle Bar varieties of movements that make the body work through multiple planes.  This is key to stressing and training more muscles that tend to get left out of traditional workouts which results in a weaker and less durable body. https://kettlebarfitness.comwww.youtube.com/ @TheKneesovertoesguy  Support the show#Rocksolidfamilies,#familytherapy,#marriagecounseling,#parenting,#faithbasedcounseling,#counseling,#Strongdads,#coaching,#lifecoach,#lifecoaching,#marriagecoaching,#marriageandfamily,#control,#security,#respect,#affection,#love,#purpose,#faith,#mastersofdisaster,#storms,#disasterrelief,#tornados,#hurricanes,#floods

In 2018 I took a 3 month break from exercise.    No lifting.    No cardio.    I didn't even go for walks unless I GENUINELY wanted to (which I didn't in the beginning).   This was part of healing from the previous 4 years of under-eating and overexercise…   …which led me to lose my period, struggle with massive binge eating episodes at least once per week, and feel controlled by my obsession with food.   Now, 6 years later?   I'm about to compete in my first Crossfit competition.    I train HARD and often, and I've even done some two-a-days in preparation.   I fucking love it.   And I continue to maintain a healthy period and a peaceful relationship with food.   So how does this apply to you?   I want to share with you how I got here - all the way from my exercise break to pushing my body hard again.   Because I know, if you're anything like me or my clients, you LOVE fitness.   You love the feeling of pushing your limits and showing yourself what you're capable of physically, you love the confidence that this brings…   …and you're ready to get more fit than you've ever been but this time WITH freedom and peace around food.   So in this episode I'm doing just that.   Hope you enjoy it!   I'd love to hear your feedback or follow up questions.   DM me on Instagram at @elenakunickird Email me at elena@elenakunicki.com Learn more about my services to help you stop binge eating, get your period back and find your healthy balance with food and fitness here: bit.ly/elenakwebsite   Resources for this episode: Episode #48: Returning to the gym after an exercise break Mark Breedon: follow on Instagram @training.strong.women Listen to Mark Breedon's episodes on the podcast: here and here Knees over toes guy, Ben Patrick, Athletic Truth Group: https://www.atgonlinecoaching.com/

Ever since the paleo diet hit the news and the internet, different iterations and ‘spins' on that format have appeared endlessly.  Even at the supermarket, I see magazines in the checkout lane, screaming KETO in large print!  “Eat FAT FAT FAT!” is all around, along with Carbs are death! On the next magazine, Ozempic the diet drug is touted. “ Get skinny fast!”  Really?  They neglect to mention that not only do you need to take the drug for LIFE, but also that you lose muscle as well as fat!  (What a wonder drug is THAT??!!Actually, nothing has really changed.  The Paleo Diet is still the ancestral human diet, and drugs and ketone inducers should be ignored.  The Carnivore diet of all animal products, primarily beef, can be great temporarily, as a kind of reset. But really, an ancestral human diet, a paleo diet, is our long-term sweet spot; a place that humans can live forever.  In  fact a place where humans have lived forever, and where we can maintain healthy, happy bodies of vigor and resilience for our whole life! All we have to do is eat real, nutritious foods of natural meats and seafood, with a mix of vegetables and some fruits and nuts.  Have full fat dairy in the form of cheeses, yogurt, and kefir, and add in exercise of strength training, small amounts of running, and walking, preferably barefoot on the grass.  Sleep a good eight hours per night in a blackened room, without checking the clock during sleeping hours!  (Really, don't look at the clock at night.  That only puts you into a ‘doom loop' where you constantly are checking with mental gymnastics as to ‘how many hours are left til I have to wake up'…. This alone ruins your rest and sleep.  Set an alarm if you want or need to- but don't check that clock every time you awaken for a minute!  Changing this one habit alone completely rescued my nightly sleep…Stretch daily!  Morning stretches done daily in front of the TV, along with a dedicated strength session in your yard, deck, garage or basement are completely mandatory for every human.  Without such daily attention to your very humanity, and you will start to break down, slowly but surely.  Let your muscles atrophy and so too does your brain, bit by bit.  The human body is an intricate balancing act of the proper nutrients, consumed by a body that is stimulated by the proper activity to require those nutrients to fuel and rebuild a sophisticated animal machine.  It's kind of like the ‘Dance of Life'!As for drugs, as in ‘diet drugs'?  They don't belong in your human body!  In fact- NO DRUGS BELONG IN THE HUMAN BODY!  That is the ideal, now and forever.  If you are taking drugs, either recreational or prescription- get off of them!  God made your body as is; he never required man-made drugs for you to thrive.  TAKE NO DRUGS!The same goes for surgeries.  Most surgeries are optional, and are a way for clinics and hospitals to MAKE MONEY.  For instance, you can reverse the need for knee surgery replacement with exercises shown by Ben Patrick on the kneesovertoesguy.com website.  Many drugs and surgeries deal with conditions that can be rectified using natural methods that aren't so invasive, expensive, and destructive of the body as those from the clinics! But all of that aside: just lead a natural, ancestral life!  Be outside in nature, as much as possible.  Garden, play and relax in your yard.  Get lots of sunshine, and keep chemicals OFF of your lawn and garden.  Be a keen observer of nature- birds, deer, and all the wildlife in your area.  Relish it, it is TRUE beauty!Support the Show.

Workouts as We Age

Paleo Quick Tip of the Day

As you go through life, some things are constant.  Working out is one constant: your body needs to work out, consume healthy foods, and get ample sleep every day of your life.  These things remain the same!I have found that working out for strength and flexibility actually become more important as you progress into your 50's, 60's and beyond.  But the amount of stimulation your muscles need for strength decreases, while the stretching required actually increases somewhat.  Actually doing a strength session can be very intense, and productive, in less than a half hour!  It is the intensity that matters most.  Also, recovery from an intense session of strength training needs to be longer than when you are younger.  I have also found that really draining movements, like heavy squats and deadlifts need to be far less frequent.  In your senior years, you probably have all of the sheer bulk you would want, anyway!  To be strong and yet defined is far more desirable as you get older.I have pretty much eliminated, at age 72, the barbell back squat, the deadlift, and the bench press.  Pushups on the gymnastic rings, along with flies and other movements are preferable to bench presses, and can be done at many angles.  Single leg or ‘sissy' squats using the rings for balance are also much better for your knees, and take the emphasis off of your glutes and put it on to the front thigh.  Substitute the squats for these..I also do kettlebell swings instead of deadlifts now, for high reps.  Quite exhausting, and targets the lower back without overstraining the nervous system to the point where recovery suffers!Dips, pull-ups and rows are always good, and are improved by doing them on the rings as well.  As we age, it is great to avoid spinal compression by loading the body excessively by means of barbells.Walk backwards, resisting with a heavy band anchored against your movement, and then walk forward.  I do this as my warmup before my strength sessions, for about 10 minutes- this will forestall knee problems very effectively.  Credit to the Knees over toes guy Ben Patrick for this!  Truly wonderful inspiration from him.I used to work out for hours at a time.  I was young, and I was kind of stupid, well, uninformed at least.  Now I know better:Workouts can be short, but yet intense.  Results do NOT suffer; in fact they can be BETTER!  But, be sure to prioritize stretching.  Each morning I stretch, and do Virtual Resistance, first thing.  In front of the television= a win-win.  Wake up your body productively, and stretch it out for the day to come, and you are setting yourself up for a wonderful day. Then, follow through with your diet: Eat protein, and make that your priority.  If you want some carbs, go with sour dough bread, but minimally.  Have a paleo smoothie (PLEASE) like I do daily- but now I consume a small one, of veggies, kefir, some berries and citrus, and sour cherrie juice that is spiked with iodine, vitamin D, and cod liver oil.  This is your “insurance” nutritionally speaking, and should be adhered to religiously! These are the basics.  After these are fulfilled, just live a good, balanced life, as our founding fathers decreed.  Religion, conservative politics, and observing the golden rule along with your neighbors….Life can be quite simple, and wonderful.  Just adhere to the basics of Western Civilization!!  All else is dross.Support the Show.

This week is a special episode that was recorded on our recent trip to Clearwater in Florida where we hung out with Ben Patrick (aka Knees Over Toes Guy) and his team at the ATG headquarters. We had an epic time experiencing the ATG method firsthand, followed by recording this podcast and then running our Playshop there the next day. This episode was actually recorded for the ATG podcast, so it's essentially Ben Patrick and Derek Williams interviewing Nick and Jim all about our approach to feet, footwear and training so in that sense it's a great overview of what we're all about at TFC.For anyone interested more in the ATG approach, we actually had Ben on our podcast a few years back, where he shares his story and approach to lower body training - obviously his personal focus is mostly on the knees due to his previous injury history but the ATG system is a really great holistic training methodology that can be amazing for lower body and whole body movement health so we definitely recommend checking out that episode as well as The ATG podcast itself and Ben's YouTube channel The Knees Over Toes Guy if you're keen to learn more - we also will be featured in a YouTube video on there over the next week or so, so you can stay tuned for that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1a6nfG69c9gI read and hear all the time about how we all should do certain things when we reach a certain age.  If not, we are being irresponsible…It starts really young: get your baby vaccinations- a LOT of vaccinations, all at once!  (NOT a good idea. much better to space them out over years, and even better to pick and choose amongst the many pushed.). For instance: flu vaccine and coronavirus for babies??  Terrible idea!As for the dozen or so usually pushed for infants, I would explore which ones are really necessary!  (Recommendations change, but the number of vaccinesalways goes- UP!). If you or yours has a new baby, research this.  All vaccines are definitely NOT your baby's friend. Now, I am not at the infant care level anymore, although I am soon to become a grandfather yet again.  (Hurray!) My daughter knows all about appropriate, and non-appropriate vaccines… But let me say here- if you give your infant the flu vaccine and the coronavirus vaccine , among others at that early age- you are doing the wrong thing!  Don't.I am 71 now, and mainly concerned with my own health and fitness.  Aside from my overall very healthy, paleo and largely meat and dairy based diet, ample sleep, and daily workout schedule, am sure to NOT take any prescription drugs.  I also have a daily smoothie, prepared in my Vitamix, of kefir, tart black cherry juice, citrus, including an organic unpeeled lemon, cruciferous veggies, apple cider vinegar, nutritional yeast of B vitamins, cod liver oil, ginger, turmeric, and current garden veggies I am harvesting in season.  My goals have not changed since in my early twenties.  I strive to get stronger (not just maintain), and in some ways I still am!  Having muscular endurance is crucial as well, but it is the truth that you don't get continually stronger over the decades, no matter what you do!But is you look into Ben Patrick's kneesovertoesguy.comOn YouTube.  Endless helpful videos and demonstrations of how top cure your knees, along with feet, back, and most of the rest of your physical body!  Trust me: you can restore injured and even badly deteriorated joints with determined exercise and stretching, always doing such well within your limits and gradually progressing!  Here is how my own journey plays into all of this.  I took a bad fall onto concrete pavers a few weeks ago.  I broke my fall with my left hand, and my left shoulder was injured pretty badly, along with the tendon on my left knee.  Ouch! So, I have been doing daily therapy over my whole body, using virtual resistance by flexing the muscles and tendons just to the point where it does not hurt badly.  A little pain, but more therapeutic than anything. The worst thing I could have done?  Go to the clinic, take pain pills, and do nothing, except schedule surgeries and more prescriptions.  I didn't do that, and now I am definitely on the mend. The pain is manageable, after I do my morning exercises.  About an hour's worth, just as I always do, but now gentler, and more focussed on the problem areas…So, the point is this- just keep on striving, to get stronger and more flexible and vital.  The rules never change- they just sometimes need alterations given circumstances.  Just never give up, and do it all yourself, researching and getting advice where you can.  Like from Ben Patrick, who athletes love and medical doctors hate!

Paleo Quick Tip of the Day
Get Ahead by Walking Backwards!

Paleo Quick Tip of the Day

Play Episode Listen Later Oct 24, 2022 9:29

I hope you are aware of the benefits of backward walking!  I first heard about this from Ben Patrick, the ‘knees over toes guy', and he is really onto something big here.I am now 70 years of age, and I'll tell you, this is around the age when many of my contemporaries are getting knee (and hip) replacement surgeries.  Trust me: this is something you would much prefer to avoid if possible; and I'm here to tell you that these knee surgeries are completely preventable!  In fact, most joint replacement surgery is preventable, simply through properly targeted exercises.  Despite what your MD might tell you!The top exercise you can do to preserve and enhance the strength and well-being of your entire leg and its accompanying joints is walking backward.  Simply by doing this, you are building the strength and conditioning of the parts of your legs that support and protect the joints. When you walk or run forwards, you are building one set of muscles- those that propel you to the front.  These allow you to jump, sprint, and leap.  This is fine, it is why we also squat, and deadlift to build these muscles.  But remember: there are muscles that work the opposite direction, and these muscles are usually ignored.  And these muscles (and tendons) allow us to decelerate.  Safely and under control.  Walking backwards is the number one way to work these vital muscles and tendons. The main way to do this is by pulling a weighted sled backward.  Or by simply walking backwards…  There are other great exercises, like doing reverse squats by attaching weights to your foot, and lifting upwards for reps, and other exercises best learned by watching Ben Patrick's wonderful videos on YouTube.Kneesovertoesguy.comBut, I still think the one exercise that everyone should be doing, and this includes your aged parents and siblings, is backward walking.  And I believe now that walking backward pulling an elastic band about your hips is not only the most effective way, but by far the most convenient method.By pulling against the anchored elastic band as you walk backward, you overload the movement (as with a weighted sled), but you can do it indoors, deliberately and safely, rapidly building up the musculature that controls deceleration and protects your joints.  I do have a sled I rigged up, and use it in my woods on occasion in good weather.  But, living in Wisconsin, good weather is often illusive, so I start every workout in my basement dungeon, pulling backward against the band I have looped about my power rack!I usually go for time- 8 minutes seems to be the perfect amount, and is also the perfect warmup.  Use a heavy band (legs are strong, even the deconditioned backward part), and watch your knees strengthen as pains and stiffness disappear. This really is almost magical in its effectiveness! That takes care of your entire lower body- you will have not only explosive power built into your legs, but they will be protected from the ravages of degeneration that are ravishing our older people today.  Simply by walking backward.Next time, I will address the many problems that occur in the upper body, which are also completely preventable with simple exercises!  Simple, natural exercises are a panacea, and weirdly enough, almost no one knows about them. Why?  Sadly, because I believe that such natural methods cannot be sold (like drugs and surgeries), and so make no money for the providers.  I will go into this more next time, on PaleoJay's Smoothie Cafe.www.paleojay.com

On Episode 72 I sat down with Wade Houchin of Kula Sports Performance Plano. Wade is freshly hired at Kula Performance and will be operating their Plano Branch which will open in March. Wade currently provides quality training to clients from his own set up over in the DFW area and I've been following his progression in the fitness world over the last few years. Wade utilizes a variety of techniques chief among them the ATG training system popularized by Ben Patrick. I've only mentioned this system in passing on previous episodes, so I wanted to take this opportunity to talk about different elements of the ATG system and how to blend them into training. We start with a description that I've seen Wade utilize on numerous occasions which is the quote " Over throw the status quo." Wade details how he utilizes this mindset to really guide how he views aspects of day to day life as well as his endeavors within fitness. In order to fully understand the ATG system we start our discussion by detailing the main training philosophies of the ATG system. Wade describes ATG as a full body training system emphasizing full range of motion movements. ATG addresses a lot of low hanging fruit as it addresses different movement limitations that may exist due to our sedentary lifestyle in western culture. By exposing the body to greater ranges of motion you promote blood flow to areas that are typically neglected within training utilizing more traditional ranges of motion. One thing that I was particularly interested in is how we can progress to these deeper ranges over time by intelligently working towards desired end points. Wade shares the different check points one can utilize for the ATG split squat and discusses the role of other well know ATG variations. Wade discusses the advancement of movements from a load perspective as well as a range perspective and does a good job of informing the audience on how to intelligently develop proficient movement based around the ATG system. Nordics are another exercise that I could not pass up discussing with Wade as they are often a hot button topic and I've noticed Wade utilized them on a frequent basis. Wade shares how he progresses Nordics intelligently in training. He also shares how he likes to utilize different variations within training such as biasing the eccentric or concentric portion of the movement. I was interested to hear how Wade builds a session around this movement and he shares the layout for a day that features a posterior chain circuit including Nordics. Our last talking points discuss how we can bring the brain into training. Wade highlights how he likes to prime clients by including RPR and spike balls to bring a tactile sensory elements into warm ups. Wade also discusses how he utilizes cross crawl patterning when implementing bilateral movements as an auxiliary to help tune up contralateral elements. Square 1 System is something that I've referenced on multiple occasions and Wade shares how he benefits as well as utilizes the tools provided within square 1 system. In this episode I share how I healed my knee after my massive injury I had February 3rd, 2022 and how 6 months later August 15th, 2022 I got cleared from my orthopedic surgeon!I honestly can't believe this episode is even a reality. When I first sustained this injury and saw the first set of MRI images I wasn't the most optimistic about the situation. But here's the thing....When I got certified by ATG and Kneesovertoes guy Ben Patrick, I met coaches who had heard of people being able to regenerate their ligaments and avoid surgery. This was massive for me because it let me truly believe that "This is possible".Without that belief, I don't care how good your training program is or how good your recovery protocols are; if you don't believe you will heal then you won't heal.So first ingredient I had was belief.Second ingredient was the stem cells; some people don't believe in stem cells being able to work to heal things but again, I had people in my corner who knew someone who had done it so the conviction these stem cells would work was there. And lastly, the training I did was the best you could've possibly done.WAY BETTER THAN ANY PT CLINIC WOULD'VE DONE FOR YOU GOING THROUGH INSURANCE.After getting certified in ATG I knew I had a winning formula that would produce results because AGAIN....this program has shown to give results when it came to knee rehab and strengthening principles. So when I got the results that my ACL has full fibers across 6 months after that SAME doctor told me "your ACL is fully torn its clear as day" I guess I shouldn't have been surprised but the reality is that no one I know personally has ever heard of something like this after an injury like I had!I wanted to share this story to be that person in your life that showed you "it's possible!". With the right ingredients, knowledge, technology and belief you too can come back from a major setback in record time!!I will be making a program that shows exactly what I did in the last 6 moths to be where I'm at so if you are dealing with a knee injury yourself please DM and lets see if this program can help you too much like it helped me!I hope you enjoy the show!

You've probably heard of Ben Patrick, aka Knees Over Toes Guy, who exploded onto the fitness scene during the pandemic by creating a renaissance of movements that had fallen from the pop-culture fitness scene. Well, now I'd like to introduce you to the man who has been working with Ben Patrick and other unique movement gurus to create equipment that wasn't readily available prior - like the TibBar, Nordic Bar, BP Sled, Wrist Axe, Weight Releasers and more. His name is Michael Sears, founder of HGG Performance (formerly the Home Gym Guy) out of Australia. Amazing entrepreneur, great human and we had an awesome conversation. https://hggperformance.com/ --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/wtfgymtalk/message

Today's show is an uncharacteristically anecdote-heavy episode of the podcast. After Greg shares some new Feats of Strength, Eric presents a Coach's Corner segment about a modified version of the “one-meal-a-day” (OMAD) eating pattern. This strategy, which may be described as protein-sparing-modified-time-restricted-eating, aims to capitalize on the potential upsides of OMAD while attenuating the downsides. After that, Greg shares his own Coach's Corner segment about joint-friendly warm-up strategies, which leads to a broader discussion about where anecdotal evidence fits within an evidence-based approach to training, nutrition, or content creation. Next, Eric answers a listener's question about how to retain muscle while cutting. Finally, to close out the show, Greg recommends some people you should follow on social media, along with a new media recommendation.  SUPPORT THE PODCASTReceive our Research Spotlight newsletter, and check out our Facebook group and subreddit.MacroFactorIf you want to learn more about our MacroFactor diet app, check it out  here. To join in on the MacroFactor conversation, check out our Facebook group and subreddit.MASS Research ReviewSubscribe to the MASS Research Review to get concise and applicable breakdowns of the latest strength, physique, and nutrition research – delivered monthly.Bulk SupplementsFinally, next time you stock up on supplements from BulkSupplements.com, be sure to use the promo code “SBSPOD” (all caps) to get 5% off your entire order. TIME STAMPSIntro/Announcements (0:00)Road to the Stage / Road to Athens (1:20)Feats of Strength (4:43)Coach's Corner: protein-sparing-modified-time-restricted-feeding (modified OMAD) (6:45)Coach's Corner: joint-friendly warm-up strategies (25:16)General discussion about where anecdotal evidence fits within an evidence-based approach to training, nutrition, or content creation (38:18)Q&A: How to retain muscle while cutting (49:28)Effect of two different weight-loss rates on body composition and strength and power-related performance in elite athletesSystematic Review and Meta-analysis: When One Study Is Just not EnoughLean mass sparing in resistance-trained athletes during caloric restriction: the role of resistance training volumePeople to follow on social media (1:12:58)Ben Patrick, Ben Carpenter, Claire Zai, Emma Storey-GordonTo Play Us Out: Media recommendation (1:24:41)Under the Banner of Heaven

Today I had the pleasure of having one of my newest mentors Ben Clarfield come on the show today!Ben and I met for the first time down in Clearwater FL for The ATG Expo about a month ago. Ben is one of three head coaches in The ATG Coaching System to have his Level 3 Certification. He helps Ben Patrick continue to develop The ATG Principles and is in charge of coaches the coaches underneath them which is where I come into play.Ben Clarfield is one of my mentors who has been teaching my The ATG Principles; the principles I have been putting into place to rehab my knee after my major knee injury I sustained at the beginning of the year.Ben Clarfield isn't your ordinary coach, he got his degree in philosophy and was on track to become a professor in a different world if it wasn't for his own knee injuries that happened at the time. Ben also tore ligaments in his knee, for him it was during basketball. And once he went down the rabbit hole of research in order to fix his knee, his educational interest changed slightly from philosophy to human movement, training, rehab, Chales Poliquin, exc. and his whole career path changed. Now after being in the fitness industry as a coach for more than a decade Ben C. has partnered up with Ben P. to and today we sit down and talk about his journey as a coach over the last 10 years. We go from topic to topic sporadically in this episode I'm not gonna lie haha but there's gems in here for people to learn from Ben!We get into philosophy, our knee injuries, genetic potential in athletes and how training can maximize your potential, how intent determines whether your training is rehab/performance/aesthetics, hardware vs. software and so much more!!I hope you enjoy! If you want to follow Ben his Instagram is @theatgcoach

It's a beautiful thing that we can all be more athletic and protected compared to what's traditionally expected for us!
