Even after going through several translations and minimalist meforshim, we felt no closer to forming our own view on how to READ the pasuk, let alone explain it. But this provided us with a unique opportunity to practice learning a pasuk we couldn't confidently read. Miraculously, nearly everyone in the shiur arrived at a similar idea - each with a different nuance - and this enabled us to make sense of what the pasuk was saying. We then learned three additional ideas from the meforshim. All in all, it was a rich yield, considering the difficulty we faced at first!-----מקורות:משלי טז:כותרגום רס"גמצודת ציון/דודרבינו יונהמאיריהואיל משה-----The Torah content for this week has been sponsored by my friend, Rabbi Dr. Elie Feder. Liam James Ward is CEO/co-founder of social/digital music marketing agency Something Something, and he joins Music Ally's Joe Sparrow to look ahead. And it's not just a bunch of hand-waving predictions – Liam digs into shifts he sees coming around some fundamental concepts: What does and doesn't work today and how to think about marketing ROI How the "vibe marketing" we saw in 2024 was perhaps an attempt to get feeling and curatorship back to the core of the fan experience How truly-useful online fan communities are actually about medium-term nurturing instead of trying to leap all the way down the funnel from virality to superfandom How niche tastemakers are back and more powerful than before (and why you should partner with them) How fans are seeking the feeling of being genuinely connected to friends and fellow fans on social media ... and there's a lot more in this Music Ally Focus episode, made in collaboration with Something Something Liam also talks about the tech and platforms he sees increasing – and decreasing – in influence, and the kind of "big artist" strategies that anyone, regardless of size or fanbase, can use. Bio:  Cody Peterson is a recovering alcoholic/drug-addict with over eleven years clean and sober. He has been fascinated by spirituality and religion since adolescence, although he struggled to maintain a spiritual connection, spending many years trying to get clean and sober. Finally, after a six-month stint in prison and a period of homelessness in Las Vegas, Nevada, Cody sobered up for good in 2013. In addition to practicing the Twelve Steps, Cody has rekindled his love of academic literature regarding spirituality and religion, and in 2019 he was led to the writings of C.G. Jung. Resonating deeply with the seminal ideas espoused by the Swiss psychiatrist, Cody felt his own calling to start writing soon thereafter. Today he takes his daily spiritual practice very seriously, believing that his recovery (and his life) depends on it, with his own version of prayer and meditation having evolved over the last thirty years to now include highlighting books and sharing his insights through his writings—the central feature of his day-to-day routine. Cody also feels an urgent need to give back by “carrying the message” to newcomers to the Twelve Steps through volunteering at any number of drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers and detox-facilities every chance he can. cityseamless.com cityseamlessroofing.com cityseamlesspatiocovers.com
