Locked On Longhorns - Daily Podcast On Texas Longhorns Football & Basketball
Coming into the season we knew that Bijan Robinson was the best running back in the country, but there's a difference between knowing something and having proof. Last night we got the proof, as Bijan Robinson etched his name in history winning the Doak Walker award for the best collegiate running back, giving The University of Texas five Doak Walker award winners in their history. Ricky Williams (twice), Cedric Benson, D'onta Foreman and now King Bijan Robinson. On the field, he was electric with his ability to break tackles, and make cuts in a phonebooth, similar to the way his idol Reggie Bush used to at USC. Off the field, he was an even better human being. The perfect human being to represent the University of Texas, even through some tough times. Bijan Robinson very well may have played his last game at the University of Texas, but he was given his flowers on the way out thankfully. There's no debate any longer on who was the best runningback in the country this year. The trophy is coming to the 40 acres. Jordan Whittington, should he stay or should he go is the second topic of today's show. Bars. The answer is simple: Yes. Tap in to hear the explanation. Hook Em Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Locked On Sun Devils - Daily Podcast On Arizona State Sun Devils Football & Basketball
Preseason watchlists for college football's most prestigious awards are beginning to be revealed and the Arizona State Sun Devils football roster has had its first player added to a watchlist. Incoming transfer running back Xazavian Valladay from the Wyoming Cowboys football program is officially having an eye kept on him for the Doak Walker award handed out to the nation's top running back. Valladay, a two-time 1,000-yard rusher for the Wyoming Cowboys football program, comes to an Arizona State Sun Devils football team facing a rebuild at the position. Gone are Rachaad White (NFL) and Chip Trayanum (transferred to Ohio State) and stepping up will be Valladay, Daniyel Ngata, Deonce Elliott, and freshman Tevin White. Valladay, who has by far the most proven track record amongst the group, will look to secure the top spot for the Sun Devils' backfield, but will this be enough to get him into the Doak Walker award conversation come the end of the season? Host Richie Bradshaw gives his thoughts on Valladay's inclusion on this watchlist and lays out what he needs to do to win the award on this edition of the Locked On Sun Devils podcast. Covid-19 has had an unprecedented impact on the global economy and somehow has redefined the landscape of work. The traditional way of working, which entailed moving to a particular place called an office before work can take place, has been transformed. Technology has proven that work can be done from anywhere given the right tools. One voice that has been big on this for a while now is Jesuthasan Ravin. In a recent interview with INSIDER, he opined that the future of work had become an all-encompassing buzzword, representing everything from automation to working remotely. https://www.businessinsider.com/ravin-jesuthasan-puts-work-first-instead-of-technology-2022-6?r=US&IR=TBut at its core, the future is about breaking jobs down to their essential duties. That's according to Ravin Jesuthasan, the global leader for transformation services at the consulting firm Mercer who has written several books on the future of work."It's essentially going to a much more granular level of analysis than just this thing called a job," he told Insider. We are honored to have him on this episode of the Word Café Podcast.Ravin Jesuthasan, global thought leader, futurist, and Wall Street Journal bestselling author on the future of work, automation, and human capitalHe is a recognized global thought leader, futurist, and author on the future of work, automation, and human capital.
