Ricky Williams won a Heisman Trophy at Texas and rushed for over 10,000 yards in 11 NFL seasons. He is now the President and Co-Founder of Highsman, a lifestyle brand that Ricky personally curates, from the cannabis to the accessories. Ricky launched Highsman to provide communities of sports fans and herb enthusiasts everywhere with a platform to own their relationship with cannabis and its ability to unlock true, personal greatness. In this episode of Highly Enlightened, syndicated by Ganjapreneur, host Jon Purow speaks with Ricky about the principles that have guided his journey — from challenging the stigma around cannabis as an athlete to becoming a founder and advocate within the industry. Ricky shares hard-earned wisdom on leadership, the deeper meaning of cannabis, the spiritual and practical lessons from his career, and how staying true to his values shaped his personal and professional evolution. This episode is a thoughtful, philosophical conversation that touches on resilience, the power of perspective, and why Ricky believes cannabis is more than just a product — it's a tool for personal and societal transformation.
Tales of Ricky Williams, Dolphins need to hit on this draft plus Miami Open Madness.
Welcome back to another episode of Nattering E Trades, your home on Visionaries Global Media for all things trades in sports. After spending the first 10 episodes navigating our way through both how trades work, and the NFL, today will be the final chapter on the NFL. I had a suggestion from a friend about doing a series on the 15 players that went ahead of our Number One best draft day trade Jerry Rice in the 1985 NFL Draft, but that will come at a later date. After today we'll be switching it up to Nattering E At The Movies for next week, and then do a quick show on that 1985 draft, before going into the NBA for more trade magic. Heck we might even discuss the Orlando Magic and some of the trades that have depicted their franchise for better or worse. Today, however, we enter episode 11 seeking to answer one question, E what is the worst NFL draft pick trade on draft day? Now as you know, this list is entirely subjective, as any one of the three worst trades could have been number one on a sports company's site. They also might not even be on any site's radar. Today our number one pick in the Worst Draft Trades in the history of the NFL is number three on NFL.com's list of the worst draft day trades. If you recall in episode 10, we discussed how former Chicago Bears legend and Head Coach Mike Ditka essentially tarnished his own reputation with the Ricky Williams deal that saw the New Orleans Saints trade all nine of their draft picks to the Washington Commanders formerly Redskins for the fifth overall selection to take Williams. Now, you're probably thinking, wait, Eric, there's a deal worse than this. And it involves the Washington franchise? Well, friends, colleagues, neighbors, and diehard sports fans I'm afraid it does. So let us get into it. #1. The worst Draft Day Trade involves draft picks. Washington trades up to get Robert Griffin III in a deal with the St. Louis Rams and the LA Rams. Greg Cote kicks off this epic day in sports the only way possible: with the signing of our National Anthem. Spoiler alert: no booing here! Did he nail the anthem too hard though? Is it better when he screws it up like he botched his introduction at our live show a bunch of years back? We revisit that epic Greg Cote moment and he explains how a tray of doughnuts led to him messing it up. Also, Chris is putting his orange squeezing experiment to the test throughout the day, Greg Cote tells us some things his body can do that Ricky Williams' body can't do and we listen back to one of the great live reads of all time from the legend Joe Rose. How much is a live read going for these days? Plus, Greg Cote tells us whether or not we're allowed to broadcast from his funeral and we discuss why his funeral is going to be some kind of party. Send us a textHere is another interview from Mjbiz Conference in Las Vegas. Everyone has their reasons for why they attend the conference. I go because it allows me to speak in person with people I would not usually get to talk with. This year was no exception. Days before I headed to the airport, I got a text message asking, “Would you want to speak with Ricky Williams?” The answer was yes! I've been waiting to interview Williams for some time now. Most people know his story. A Heisman Trophy winner, Williams would be selected #5 by the New Orleans Saints in the 1999 N.F.L. draft. Over his career, Williams would play for the Saints, Miami Dolphins, and Baltimore Ravens before he made a decision that would change his career and help shift the narrative of cannabis use by professional athletes. While in Las Vegas, Ricky sat down to speak about his first time consuming, getting into the business, the resurgence of the running back position in the N.F.L., and whether he's considered returning to the league. This episode was sponsored by JM Balbuena and her books "The Successful Cannapenuer" and "Green Rennisance" Get both books at jmbalbuena.comSupport the showPresident and co-founder of LOCKGREEN Sarah Kiah Morton sat down with us to discuss how the idea of LOCKGREEN came to life, how this business is a family affair, and more.
Greg Cote is BACK after he missed Tuesday's show (OUT - Illness), and that sickness has him looking haunted today. He weighs in on the Jimmy Butler drama with the Miami Heat to start the show as Dan tries his best to promote today's upcoming South Beach Sessions with Pat Riley despite it being taped six weeks ago. Greg then gives his thoughts on Tyreek Hill and The Disgruntled Off™️ unfolding in Miami between Tyreek and Jimmy. Which word came first: gruntled or disgruntled? Plus, James Franklin may be about to make us all eat it, Lucy hung out with Ricky Williams, and Greg Cote thinks eyebrows are useless.
