JC's friend visited her husband and his office with their new baby and told the boss "Do not touch my baby." Was this rude of her? We talk to listeners to hear their thoughts
Introduction:The message "I'm Down for Whatever" calls believers to a wholehearted commitment to Jesus. It draws inspiration from the Israelites' obedience in Joshua 1:10-17, challenging us to embrace a mindset of radical faith and surrender. We identify three key takeaways for those ready to be "Whatever Warriors" for Christ: 1. Whatever Jesus Has Done, Tell People! Joshua 1:11a encourages us to "go through the camp and tell the people." Sharing your testimony isn't just a duty; it's a powerful act that strengthens the faith of others and emboldens your own. Revelation 12:11 reminds us that we overcome "by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony." This means being prepared to give a reason for our hope in Christ with gentleness and respect (1 Peter 3:15-16). 2. Whatever Provisions You Need Are in His Word Just as the Israelites were instructed to prepare provisions before crossing the Jordan (Joshua 1:11), believers today must feed on God's Word for spiritual sustenance. Whether milk for the immature (1 Corinthians 3:1-3) or solid food for the mature (Hebrews 5:12-14), God's Word equips us for the journey ahead. In our walk with Christ, we must progress from spiritual infancy to maturity, developing the discernment to handle life's challenges. 3. Whatever Rest You Need Is in Jesus Joshua 1:14-15 speaks of a rest given by God, which echoes Jesus' invitation in Matthew 11:28-30: "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest." Rest isn't simply a state of physical relaxation; it encompasses soul, mind, spiritual, and physical rest. It requires humility and casting our anxieties onto Jesus (1 Peter 5:5-7). True rest is found not in our past struggles, but in releasing our burdens to Him. Conclusion:The "Whatever Warrior" is ready to do whatever Jesus commands, trusting in His promises and resting in His provision. As we soar with Jesus in Season 3, let's cast off what no longer serves us—our worries, pride, sin, and past—and fully commit to following wherever He leads. Response:Declare to the Lord, "I'm down for whatever!" Are you ready to be a Whatever Warrior?

If you want to know what matters most to your elected leaders, the answer is found not in their rhetoric, but in their choices during the budget making process. When the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities was founded in 1981, the mission was to understand how federal spending, or the lack of it, impacted low income Americans, particularly their ability to access healthcare and housing. It also provided policymakers with alternative strategies for meeting human needs with fiscal integrity. As Peggy Bailey, Executive Vice President of Programs and Policy shares on this episode of Power Station, the Center not only brings rigor to federal budget analysis it focuses on and is a resource to state budget making as well. And its internal process has evolved too. All Center departments operate from a justice framework, with staff holding themselves and each other accountable to shared values, from centering racial equity to including those with lived experience in their policy development. Peggy brings her all, including what she has experienced first-hand, to ensuring that public policies and their implementation in the real world uplift those who are too often left behind. She is a true changemaker. Hear her!

In the latest episode of "Dementia Caregiving for Families," the importance of sharing a loved one's dementia diagnosis is discussed. Keeping the diagnosis a secret can lead to isolation and increased stress for caregivers. It's crucial to start informing others early and often, beginning with close family members and then extending to church leadership, employers, colleagues, neighbors, and authorities. This proactive approach helps build a support network and ensures safety. Recognizing conditions like anosognosia, where the person with dementia cannot see their impairment, is also essential. Private conversations without the person present might be necessary to share important information without causing distress. Effective communication with healthcare providers is another key aspect. Many doctors might dismiss symptoms as normal aging, but true memory loss isn't part of normal aging. Caregivers should prepare a concise list of observations to share with the healthcare team and consider finding a more responsive doctor if needed. Open discussions about dementia help reduce its stigma, fostering understanding and compassion. By sharing experiences and educating others, caregivers can ease their burden and provide better care for their loved ones. 2:26 Importance of Communication in Caregiving 7:08 Early and Frequent Communication Strategy 10:34 Looping in Closest Family and Church Leadership 13:22 Involving Employer, Colleagues, and Neighbors 16:28 Dealing with Lack of Awareness in the Person 19:12 Communicating with Healthcare Providers 23:18 Easing Dementia Care Challenges 27:30 Destigmatizing Dementia Discussion 31:23 Recap: Start Early and Speak Often Enjoy our podcast? This episode with life, business and career coach, Brian Patacca, has been one of my go-to's ever since he shared this nugget with me: Marketing is going public with your gifts and being seen for your gifts. If you build it and you tell people about it, they will come. Grab your journal. Brian and I begin with marketing and end with dignity and respect. Along the way, Brian reframes the entire concept of marketing around generosity and purpose: Be determined each day, not to leave your function unfulfilled. Clarity is kindness and kindness is clarity - banish the vague and wishy washy and ASK. Your creativity is your birthright and the world is a better place when you are doing what you are called to do. Effective marketing does 3 things, makes you FEEL something, makes you DO something, makes you NOTICE something. Don't be afraid of the word No. Hearing No frees you to focus your energy on where you'll find your Yes. Brian is a spiritual practitioner who engages creative professionals seeking to ignite their businesses with fierce accountability, marketing innovation and soul satisfying success. He is the founder of a coaching organization and creative community with locations in New York, Los Angeles, and Atlanta. Now based in Los Angeles, Brian coaches nationwide in several web-based group courses including his latest programs, Agent Goals and Actor Operating System. Today Heather continues her conversation with Erin Todd from Intuitive Eating for Christian Women about the expression, "Turn to Jesus, not food." While we know that Jesus should be our source for everything, is it helpful or even accurate to say that we can turn to Jesus instead of eating the food we crave? Is this how we treat other decisions surrounding our bodies and what they need (Do we say, "Turn to Jesus, not sleep?")? Today, Heather and Erin continue their conversations to hash out what is helpful to remember about turning to God, and how this expression may sound more like diet culture than the Bible. If you've ever felt guilt and shame over giving into a craving at night or eating that food you swore to yourself not to eat, and then told yourself you should have turned to "Jesus not food," this episode is for you. Over the weekend I visited a local hardware store to enquire about purchasing a line trimmer. This is the second time I've been to the store in the last month or so and on both occasions, I left disappointed without making a purchase. I've talked to two salespeople now and neither one had enough product knowledge to make a clear recommendation that would solve my problem. What I need is for someone to understand my needs, talk me through a few viable options and make a recommendation on which option to go with. I want to feel confident that I'm making the right decision before I spend $500.This illustrates precisely why I sell my services in the way that I do.Show notes (please leave me a comment with your questions and feedback) » https://paulminors.com/296/If you enjoyed this episode, I'd love it if you could leave me a review.Intro/Outro Music: "Synthia" by Scott & Brendo

Saying what you really feel – especially in a high-stress job – is no easy task. Crucial conversations are often avoided for fear of damaging relationships. These unaired grievances get bottled up and over time can increase our level of stress.⭐️ Work Well Webinars But there are three core conditions for effective conversation that can help here: empathy (stepping into someone else's shoes), unconditional respect (accepting the other's right to be as they are), and congruence (expressing our thoughts and feelings authentically).Sadly, ignoring a problem with another person – or avoiding giving negative feedback – won't make them go away. On the contrary, too many important things going unsaid can lead to a toxic environment where stress levels rise, relationships break down, and productivity suffers. But, by stepping into the other party's shoes, respecting their right to be as they are, and expressing our own thoughts authentically, we can create a more psychologically safe environment where issues are dealt with respectfully.
