Want to get a leg up on your league-mates? Finding late-round WRs is the way to do it. Think Cooper Kupp and Deebo Samuel last year, guys that finished 1 and 2 for WRs, but were taken in the 8th and 9th round of fantasy drafts. This episode, Josh and Ben are giving you a few players that could finish as WR1s if things break right for them this fantasy season. Acquire a few shares of these players, and you may have a league-winning fantasy player on your hands. Is Trevor Lawrence a fantasy football buy or sell? How can fantasy managers navigate dynasty WR3s and WR4s? Is Mitchell Trubisky someone who should be on our fantasy radars? Those questions -- and more -- are answered on this week's mailbag episode.
It's the best time of the year. For those of us in the playoffs, of course. Nando, Chris and Brandon get into all the Week 15 craziness on this episode of The Athletic Fantasy Football Podcast. They discuss the covid situations affecting the Browns and Rams, Lamar Jackson's injury and downturn, newfound WR3s for the playoffs, Rashaad Penny's breakout, Chase Edmonds' return, and more. And, of course, Nando figures out a somewhat relevant way to discuss D'Onta Foreman and Mike Davis. It's October everyone, and Halloween is just around the corner. Ryan and Scott helm this with 2 fellas down and some of those teams out there are looking downright scary. Don't worry, we've got all your waiver wire pickups/trade targets laid out in order to turn that frown upside down!
It's Week 4 of the Fantasy Football season and Jake and Funston discuss their rankings on this episode of The Athletic Fantasy Football Podcast. How much are the Raiders creeping up in the weekly rankings? Is it time to target Kyle Pitts in trades? How far does Allen Robinson fall in Chicago's woeful offense. Where does Chuba Hubbard land in the rankings this week? Did Week 3 provide a clear opportunity to deal Clyde Edwards-Helaire? Which RB3s and WR3s should be in your lineup, and which should be on the bench? The guys answer all those questions, plus go head-to-head on a few players where they differ, make cases for backs outside the top 24 and top 30, and more. Welcome back to the 2021 Fantasy Football Factory, a series on the podcast where we discuss the latest news, lessons learned, and future outlooks in the NFL world for fantasy leagues in all formats. All episodes for this series are streamed prior to upload on my Twitch channel (twitch.tv/ahaanhostofcountitpodcast). On Episode 2, we review Week 2 lessons learned, including backfield splits and WR3s that can break out immediately. This episode's guest is Colin McTamany (@LincoCammytan on Twitter). All my other fantasy sports content for Fantrax can be viewed here.
Jeff Ratcliffe breaks down his wide receiver tiers and draft strategy at the position for 2021 fantasy football drafts. He kicks off the show with a quick update on Deshaun Watson and then dives into his elite tier. Jeff tells you how he's handling Davante Adams and discusses the top wideouts in this year's fantasy drafts. Jeff then talks about the differences among the WR2s and WR3s. He wraps things up with his approach at wide receiver in the late rounds of fantasy drafts.
Last year, Stefon Diggs (WR3), Brandin Cooks (WR15), Diontae Johnson (WR21) and CeeDee Lamb were all drafted as WR3s (WR24). But so were T.Y, Hilton (WR43), Marquise Brown (WR34), DeVante Parker (WR41) and A.J. Green (WR68). In 2019, Allen Robinson (WR10), Jarvis Landry (WR13) and D.J. Moore (WR16) were WR3s by ADP. But so were Alshon Jeffery (WR59), Robby Anderson (WR39), Christian Kirk (WR40) and Dede Westbrook (WR48). Nailing a WR pick in this range can be huge for a fantasy team. Beller, Jake and Funston will try to help you get ready to do that with The Athletic Fantasy Football Podcast's inaugural WR3 draft! Plus, the guys play another round of Guess That Player. Well, as fun as Minshew Mania was, it has indeed come to an end. Nick Foles is returning to the Jaguars this week, but what does it mean for the fantasy values of Jaguar studs like Leonard Fournette and D.J. Chark? (1:10)Liz Loza and Matt Harmon discuss that and much more on the latest Yahoo Fantasy Football Podcast.[Play in Yahoo’s NFL $200K Baller. $10 entry fee and $20K to first place]Elsewhere in the NFL, two of the top tight ends in fantasy won’t be on the field in Week 11. Austin Hooper will now be out for a month, and considering he’d been the top tight end in fantasy, we feel your pain, fantasy managers. Is Luke Stocker a viable fantasy option now?George Kittle is set to miss another game, and unfortunately, it’s against the Cardinals, the team which has been friendliest to opposing TEs this season. Liz and Matt seek out TE dart-throws in the wake of these injuries for Week 11. (5:45)As you very well know, it’s #HandcuffSZN, but beyond that, Liz and Matt list the running backs fantasy managers should be stashing — regardless of whether they’re rostering the lead backs in the same offense. (15:05)Next up, our experts talk about the random group of wideouts in the top 30-50 who seem to produce week in and week out, and which of them are worth streaming based on their matchups.
