Bills vs Colts Preview & Bold Predictions (Plus Sabres Heating Up)

It's a surprise bonus Saturday episode of Talking Buffalo and Patrick Moran has a Buffalo Bills vs Indianapolis Colts preview, keys to the game and bold predictions for it alongside some commentary on the see-saw Buffalo Sabres once again heating up. Typically throughout the NFL season we use Fridays as the the official Talking Buffalo preview episode for the Bills. However, Patrick hosted University at Buffalo football star Shaun Dolac live from Imperial Pizza on yesterday's show. That made Patrick compelled to a bonus episode in large part to be able to preview this Sunday's Bills game, a contest Buffalo's favored to win by four points and should be a competitive game. The Colts are 4-5 on the season but four of those five losses were to great teams. They've made the switch at quarterback from youngster Anthony Richardson to the ageless veteran Joe Flacco. Patrick goes over their offense, which may or may not have star wide receiver (back injury) on the field Sunday. Regardless, the Colts don't lack weapons and Bills fans know Jonathan Taylor, who ran for over 200 yards on them a few seasons ago all too well. They also feature Alec Pierce and his NFL-leading 22.9 yards per catch and a very stout offensive line. Defensively the Colts are pretty middle of the pack as whole but have a trio of potential game wreckers at their disposal: defensive tackle DeForest Buckner, linebacker Zaire Franklin and cornerback Kenny Moore. Patrick goes over his three biggest keys to victory for the Bills, including the safeties having an impactful afternoon in helping to stop Taylor. From there it's bold predictions time and guess what folks----Dalton Kincaid is going to have his best game of the season! That plus a final score pick and more. Patrick also spends a handful of minutes talking about the Sabres, who smacked the New York Rangers on the road Thursday night, 6-1 and have won their last 2 games by an 11-2 margin. This comes after losing three in a row, which came after winning three in a row. It's been an inconsistent first 14 games for Buffalo to say the least---does Patrick think this team is now turning the corner? That plus some reflections on Dolac being on Friday's show and much more! ♦♦♦♦♦ Follow Patrick Moran/Talking Buffalo Podcast  Substack: Patrick Moran's Substack Twitter:  @PatrickMoranTB Facebook: Talking Buffalo Podcast  YouTube: Talking Buffalo Podcast YouTube Channel Learn more about your ad choices. (00:00-21:40) – Query & Company opens on a Monday with Jake Query, Jimmy Cook, and producer Eddie Garrison hashing out their thoughts on another Colts loss in Jacksonville. They question the roster construction underneath Chris Ballard, explain why yesterday's loss was concerning, and have a conversation about some of the “business decisions” that Adonai Mitchell has made in the last two games. (21:40-31:39) – After critiquing the Colts in the previous segment, Jake and Jimmy highlight a couple of positives for the Colts. The first being where things are at right now with teams in wild card consideration and then Alec Pierce's ability to make plays when the team needed someone to step up to make plays. (31:39-41:31) – Hour number one concludes with Jake and Jimmy answering Eddie's question about this Colts team in connection to last year. Additionally, they highlight the Indiana Hoosiers becoming the first bowl eligible team and Purdue's struggles continuing. (41:31-1:05:02) – The Dean, Mike Chappell, from CBS4 and FOX59 joins Query & Company on a Monday to share his thoughts on the Colts loss to the Jaguars yesterday. He examines the recent head scratching plays that Adonai Mitchell has made, highlights the lack of a consistent running game as one of the problems offensively yesterday, and states that he doesn't think a change at defensive coordinator wouldn't change much because most of the defensive coaches are disciples of Gus Bradley. (1:05:02-1:18:17) – Voice of the Indiana Hoosiers, Don Fischer, joins Jake Query and Jimmy Cook to recap the Indiana Hoosiers win over the Northwestern Wildcats. Don highlights the ability of the Hoosiers to move on to the next play after making a mistake as something that continues to stand out about the maturity of this team. Also, he labels Kurtis Rourke as the best quarterback that the Hoosiers have had since Antwon Randle El was playing for IU. (1:18:17-1:27:15) – Hour number two concludes with Jake Query and Jimmy Cook having a serious conversation about the future of Ryan Walters at Purdue. (1:27:15-1:50:38) – Jake Query and Jimmy Cook kick off the final hour the show by rehashing some of their thoughts of the Colts losing, once again, to the Jaguars in Jacksonville. Jake makes a comparison of Joe Flacco starting to someone else stepping up in theatre. Additionally, they have a conversation about whether they believe Chris Ballard and Shane Steichen are tied at the hip.   (1:50:38-2:02:14) – For the first time today, Jake and Jimmy answer calls from listeners that are not pleased with the job that Shane Steichen and Chris Ballard have done so far this season. Additionally, they continue to drive the importance of this season being about the development of Anthony Richardson (2:02:14-2:13:04) – Today's show ends with the JCook Plays of the Day and Eddie sharing a couple bets that he likes tonight!Support the show: https://1075thefan.com/query-and-company/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Now 10 straight losses in Jacksonville versus the Jaguars. The Colts defensive line never got to Trevor Lawrence. E.J. Speed had a let down game, despite having a couple good plays. Jaylon Jones made a couple plays, but got burned too many times. The offense was a bright side to the game, but prayers to Will Fries. Even with Joe Flacco playing well, if the Colts think Anthony Richardson is the future, he needs to play. Flacco had a good day, with Downs and Pittman playing well early. A.D. Mitchell has to catch the ball before avoiding contact! Alec Pierce has developed into a receiving STUD! The offensive line had issues protecting the quarterback, especially Braden Smith. The coaches will be focused on the Titans, as Indy faces another divisional opponent. It's a small world: Tony Sparano Sr. was Donald's coach, and now Donald coaches Sparano Jr's son. The Colts can still make some noise this 2024 NFL season.
