Emeka Egbuka's toe and a Week 1 availability question. Alec Pierce still on PUP with no timeline. Luther Burden missing all of preseason with a groin. And the ripple effect of Jayden Higgins' torn ACL sending Kayshon Boutte to Houston. Then they flip the scale. Four players have gotten genuinely encouraging news, and the question becomes how optimistic you should actually be: George Kittle activated from PUP, Christian McCaffrey back at practice after sitting out with tightness, Patrick Mahomes calling himself extremely confident for Week 1, and Malik Nabers possibly shedding the red non-contact jersey this week. Some of these are worth moving down your board today. Some are noise that other people in your league will overreact to, which is where the value is. (00:00-25:51) – Query & Company kicks off on a Monday with Jake Query and producer Eddie Garrison recapping the Freedom 250 Grand Prix from Washington D.C. yesterday, and the quarterback two battle with how poor Riley Leonard performed against the Atlanta Falcons. (25:51-37:41) – The Indianapolis Colts defense left a lot to be desired in Saturday’s preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons. Jake dives into the performance of the pass rushers because there is a lot the Colts are banking on this season and CJ Allen’s NFL debut. (37:41-44:44) – Jake Query concludes the first hour of the show by expressing the concern that he has about Charvarius Ward’s availability for week one with how little information we have about his back injury. (44:44-1:12:31) – The Dean, Mike Chappell, from CBS4 and FOX59 makes his weekly stop on Query & Company to chat with Jake Query about the latest happenings with the Indianapolis Colts. Their conversation starts by discussing the brutal second preseason game for the Colts, his current thoughts on the QB2 battle between Anthony Richardson Sr. and Riley Leonard and then they transition to the kicking competition and his thoughts on the Alec Pierce recovery timeline. (1:12:31-1:29:13) – Indiana Fever radio analyst Bria Goss joins Jake Query to recap the five-game road trip for the team and to discuss the vulnerability that Stephanie White showed when asked about how she compartmentalizes the drama and outside noise. They also get into the best guard duo in the WNBA performing at an elite level last night and the development of MaKayla Timpson from last year to this season. (1:29:13-1:54:50) – Jake Query kicks off the final hour of today’s show by diving more into the Indianapolis Colts loss to the Atlanta Falcons in preseason game two on Saturday with neither quarterback performing well. Jake believes that the entire Colts front office is wanting Riley Leonard to show them something, but he just hasn’t through two preseason games. It leads to him questioning Shane Stiechen’s ability to cater to Anthony Richardson’s strengths. (1:54:50-2:10:39) – The voice of the Indiana Hoosiers, Don Fischer, makes his return to Query & Company to preview the start of IU’s defense of the College Football Championship. Fischer believes that Charlie Becker has a chance to become one of the best receivers in college football this season, doesn’t question the ability of Curt Cignetti to identify and develop quarterbacks, and agrees with Jake that running back could be the deepest position group on the team on paper right now. Episode 4 of Prophet Playoff Theory heads to the AFC South, where the division has become one of the most intriguing in football. Houston, Jacksonville and Indianapolis all have legitimate playoff aspirations, while Tennessee is trying to establish a new identity around Cam Ward.  The last time we saw Houston, a five-turnover game helped cost them another playoff opportunity. The defense is arguably the best in the business, but how much more can this roster accomplish if C.J. Stroud takes the next step? With this much talent around him, what does Stroud need to do to make sure he doesn't waste his opportunity? The Colts have made some massive financial and personnel commitments, including trading two first-round picks for Sauce Gardner and paying Alec Pierce after his breakout season. With Pierce already dealing with an injury, did Indianapolis put too many chips on the table? And just how much can the return of Daniel Jones change this team and get the Colts back into the playoff picture? Keven is officially buying the Jaguars. After their playoff berth and division title last season, expectations are much higher in Jacksonville. Is this finally the year Trevor Lawrence cements himself as one of the NFL's elite quarterbacks? And why should both Keven and Rashad expect even more from this team after last season's breakthrough? What does “good” actually look like for the Titans? Tennessee brings in Robert Saleh and Brian Daboll to help Cam Ward and a young roster take the next step. After a three-win season, can a more experienced coaching staff provide the structure this team desperately needs? Is this simply a rebuilding year—or could the Titans surprise the AFC South?Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/preach-kev-preach-w-rashad--2977392/support.

(00:00-26:14) – Query & Company kicks off on a Tuesday with Jake Query and producer Eddie Garrison discussing the news from last night that the Indianapolis Colts have signed Keenan Allen to a one-year deal. Why is this signing just coming to fruition? Does this say anything about Alec Pierce’s availability for week one? (26:14-41:02) – A big problem the NCAA has right now is the transfer portal and NIL. Zak Keefer will join Jake Query to discuss, but Jake shares his thoughts on the situation and how it stems from how athletes are being raised. (41:02-48:44) – Jake Query concludes the first hour of the show by having Eddie compare the stats between Keenan Allen and Michael Pittman Jr. from last season. (48:44-1:15:46) – The Athletic’s Zak Keefer makes an appearance on Query & Company to talk college athletics and NFL. Jake and Zak’s conversation starts by highlighting some things that are in his story about how agents in college athletics do not have the athletes best interests at heart and what it’s like for coaches navigating the transfer portal with NIL factored in. Finally, they get into the Colts signing Keenan Allen and the future of Anthony Richardson. (1:15:46-1:27:48) – Jake points out something that Zak Keefer said about Anthony Richardson when considering whether or not he will make the 53-man roster when the roster is cut in less than two weeks. Jake and Stephen share their thoughts on why Keenan Allen waited so long to sign with a team and if there were other teams that were interested in his services. They also touch on the development we have seen from Anthony Richardson since last season, if Charvarius Ward’s back injury is concerning or not, and why Richardson could be a short term answer for a Daniel Jones injury but Riley Leonard could be a long term answer.
