American football running back

The NFL depth charts are pretty set! The rookies have landing spots! We now have a decent idea how the fantasy landscape will look come July! So it's time to put a stake in the ground and make some rankings. On today's podcast we'll tackle the scarcest position: running back. Beyond the first several names, there simply aren't a lot of sure things, and we'll talk about why. We'll also talk some about tight end ranks and why our first inclination is to once again *not* pay to get one of the highly rated ones. Fantasy draft strategy formulations begin now! Dave and Bob dive into Pete Carroll and John Schneider's comments about the Seahawks plans for the number nine pick and weigh in on what was said about current guys on the roster like Geno Smith and Drew Lock. Plus, the guys discuss the status of DK Metcalf's contract extension and what the Seahawks can expect out of Chris Carson, Rashaad Penny, and the rest of their running back room. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
After trading Russell Wilson to the Broncos, we should expect the Seahawks to focus on building a dominant run game. But with Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny's injury history, it shouldn't be out of the question for Seattle to draft running back early this year. How early though? EJ Snyder of Bootleg Football joins the show and says the expectation is that no running backs get drafted in the first round. Will Seattle be able to take their favorite from this class? We talk about EJ's favorite three backs as well as some players farther down the draft board. Paul Moyer joins Wyman and Bob to discus this years NFL Combine. Does the 40-yard dash time really matter that much in terms of a draft pick. Character is one attribute to look for in a potential draft pick. Tim Hasselbeck originally stated that Wilson could be on his way out and explains to Mike Salk why he said this about him. Only way Wilson could be traded is if there is another high caliber QB involved in the trade. The Seahawks want to bring back all of their free agents. Will the Seahawks have to franchise tag anyone to make this plan work? Would Mike Williams look good taking passes from Trevor Lawerance and the Jacksonville Jaguars? Would Christian Kirk be a good replacement for Braxton Berrios for the New York Jets? Where will a late season breakout Running Back like Rashaad Penny end up and will it be in a starting role? Or will his fantasy value get crushed like we saw Melvin Gordon's value last year? Should the Seahawks address their running back position outside of possibly re-signing Rashaad Penny and hoping Chris Carson comes back healthy in 2022? Jake and Stacy get that answer from Michael Bumpus as he dials in to start the hour. In NFL Headlines, former Seattle defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr. finds a landing spot in a familiar place. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
We're just days away from possibly missing out on a significant number of baseball games in the 2022, so what would you say to the baseball owners and players if you got the chance? Jake and Stacy hand you the mic to get hour two started. In Four Down Territory, is Jake comfortable bringing back both Rashaad Penny and Chris Carson? On The Timeline, one MLB team's financials from the 2021 season are made public and it's not going to help the owners in negotiations. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

It's officially the offseason in the NFL! So what does that mean? It's time to begin previewing the 2022 season! That's right, it's NEVER too early! Last week, we previewed the Quarterback position with Lauren Carpenter. This week, we're looking at Running backs with a new face in the fantasy football industry -- one of the newest writers on the Club Fantasy team, Emily Lefco! The Rams won the Super Bowl with little cap space dedicated to the RB position, while the Bengals made it to the Super Bowl with Joe Mixon, the 7th highest paid RB in the league. Doesn't sound like there's a right or wrong way to spend money on the position if you want to win, so what does that mean for this year's free-agent crop of RBs? Leonard Fournette once again hits free agency after finishing as RB5 in fantasy this year. James Conner was a pleasant surprise for the Cardinals on a one-year deal, finishing as the RB6. Both should be looking for longer-term deals with higher AAV than last year. Will a team pay up for them? Those two highlight this year's crop, with others like Melvin Gordon, Rashaad Penny, Ronald Jones, and plenty more looking for paydays ahead of the NFL Draft, when a new, younger crop of RBs enter the league. And that doesn't include a big name like Saquon Barkley, who could find his way to another team as the Giants look to revamp their offense. Where will they go? We'll take a look and give you our thoughts! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/no-punt-intended/message
