Podcast by Philip Rodger
Well hello, been a while hasn't it. It's been even longer since a proper episode like this. Jess Wright joins me for an episode about Blossom, a tall cow who was suddenly, and shockingly brought to my attention. This episode has twists and everything, so hold onto your seat. The Big Cow Theme is made by Lee Abecasis. Find the Big Cow Podcast on Twitter at @BigCowPodcast. The Big Cow Podcast is created, and hosted by Philip Rodger. Find him on Twitter at @PRodgerMMath.
Kept you waiting, huh. Cowvid-19 is still ongoing, despite what the complete lack of uploads might lead you to believe. This episode's pretty low effort, just me looking at some pictures of cows. I needed an easy path back in. Cowvid 19 kicks off for real with this, a rewrite of the first song from Cats, to be about Knickers the Big Cow. I thought I'd get through more of the musical in this, but it's a slower process than I thought. At least I had some fun with T. S. Elliot's silly words. I could maybe have editted this one down a lot more, maybe to just the song. Maybe I should have done that. I don't know. I sing a fair bit in this one. I don't know if I'm good at it, but I suspect I'm very middle of the road. Also, you can probably tell the exact moment my flatmate got back in by the fact that I'm suddenly more hushed.
Hello. I was planning to end mid-series break at the start of April, but unfortunately that's not going to happen, as Animal Crossing has come out and taken up all my time. I mean, erm, because, due to social isolation, I haven't been able to have people round to record and rebuild the backlog. So, instead, we're going off the standard formula for a bit with Cowvid-19, a Big Cow Mini Series which will be some fun cow related content to help distract from the more horrible stuff in the world right now.
Maria Webb joins me once again to talk about the Big Cow. Well a bit anyway, we touch on him a bit and then go off on to other topics. Cows do come up quite a bit though, as Maria tells us a tale of the final vengeance of a dying cow. We also talk about Japan a lot, because both of us have been there, and we both really like it; and then there's our relative experiences in working with dead people. Talking points include: A confession to forgetfulness; Witness Protection for cows; the most horrific thing; a shocking reveal that I don't know when Ash Wednesday is; Fast Food Talk; A call to action, and a special money making opportunity for my listeners; a genuine mistake from an idiot; food health hints; tales of wombats; Australasian Handshake Mishaps; pies of varying qualities; and a Weekend at Bernie's Type Situation. Another quick one today, with a potential name actually being given to the type of episode this is. In this one, it's just me, talking about Oliver, a regular sized Cow with a big ol' heart, and how he managed to help Helen, a Bison. The animals in question are at the Lighthouse Farm Sanctuary. You can find details about it at their website: https://www.lighthousefarmsanctuary.org/ There's also donation links there, if you so desire. The Big Cow Theme is made by Lee Abecasis. Guess who's back? If you guessed Geoff Pearson, then you're wrong. The Enemies are back at it again, trying to spread untruths on the podcast, whilst approximately using the name of Geoff Pearson, the farmer who owns Knickers.
Geoff's Back! That's right, the real Geoff Pearson is back. In January, he spent a few days staying at mine, and we managed to get this episode recorded. It was a tense, and emotional time, which is why I mildly messed up my opening in this episode. Geoff tells me of how his life has changed since he's been on the run from his enemies. He tells me of the things he's going through, and the friends who are helping me along the way. There was a powercut during the first upload of this, probably due to the enemies trying to stop it going up. Unfortunately that means I lost my notes, so no talking points today. Micky Baker joins me once again, and this time we have a Cold Open. We also have a cold, well he does anyway, so he's snifflin' and snufflin' throughout. Together, we take a look at the Nursery Rhyme "Hey, Riddle, Riddle", and figure out exactly what's going on. Who was the cow who jumped over the moon (hint, it's Knickers), what was the cat even doing with that fiddle, and why did Dish and Spoon have to run away? All will be revealed. Talking points include: What does it mean to be buddy cops? Universal Diplomatic Immunity; Growth as a learned skill; Babies aren't people, they're not; Which came first, the Lewis Carol, or the Egg?; I try to remember the name of a Taylor Swift song; a Star Trek diversion; the background which is also the foreground; The Past (TM); Horses and Swords are good; and a desire for there to be no more content. Also, if you're wondering, Mark Long went to both New Zealand and Australia. The Big Cow Theme is made by Lee Abecasis. Find the Big Cow Podcast on Twitter at @BigCowPodcast. Today, on Big Cow - The Podcast about the Big Cow, I'm joined by one of my internet friends, TheLordFool. And fittingly for that situation we're using their username. Also fittingly for that, there are quite a few bits in this episode in which we're making niche references to a fandom we're both a part of. If you don't understand it, don't worry, it doesn't last that long, and this is what I have to deal with when y'all talk about football or Breaking Bad or whatever. Also, there are a few latency issues in the first 10ish minutes, which I couldn't quite sort out. Don't worry, they clear up later. As well as all that stuff, we talk about Knickers the Big Cow, and what the world would be like if he could produce milk. One possible result would be "Knickers the Theme Park", a place which is only mildly horrifying. There's a whole lot of word forgetting too, mostly on my part; not sure what's up with that. Talking points include: Enormous Beef; Knickers the Bumper Sticker, Knickers the T-Shirt; Holy Milk and a dairy explanation; The Knickers Pope; "Anyway, here's Meat Wall"; Is Knickers a Canibal?; Vore: "Living ViDairyously" a very good name for a podcast; Collegg; Putting government tech to good use for once; One Mighty Moo; This Cow is Big Enough for the Both of Us; I reveal my complete lack of understanding as to what "Spaghetti Western" means; and Knickers Bless Himself.
Uh oh! I put a lot on my plate this week, and haven't yet finished editing the episode which was supposed to be here. Instead, please take this quick update on the current state of Knickers, and the fact that he now has a new friend. Nice.
Well, well, well. Look who it is. Max Francis, the most recurring guest, back at it again on the Big Cow Podcast. We've got come comentary on the size of Knickers, some censorship, and some solid JFK talk; but overall I think that the theme of this episode is the desire to find a theme for the episode, and then immediately abandoning it once found. We also have the latest chapter in the Slow Cow saga, so look forwards to that. Talking points include: Straight Edge 4 Life; I bring out some strong opinions about Libertarians; "That's a fursona, Max"; Max calls me out on having such a comprehensive knowledge of furry stuff; more fridges for the rich; the past tense of "yeet"; at one point I say the episode number, and I'm off by two; The Crocodile Dundee Cinematic Universe; a big tongue; there's a solid two minutes of silent research time which I removed.
New Year, same Big Cow. It's the first of the year, and to kick it off I'm joined by Jared Pechacek, who did the tweet which first introduced me to the Big Cow. We talk about the chain of events which led to the tweet and just how happy we all were in the period were the Big Cow first appeared, and we could all look afresh on the Big Cow. In this episode I say that a fictionalised version of Geoff Pearson has been on the podcast. This is a lie I told, to try and throw off Geoff's enemies. We all know that the Geoff Pearson who's been on the podcast is the real one. Talking points include: a picture burned into the soul; the Sumarian bull of the heavens; a god who might be interested in you in a way you don't enjoy; have I ever said "Them's the brakes" before? I don't think I have; Cowthulu; the larval form of a supermassive black hole; "I've seen pictures before, Honey."; "Too much bird for one body", I christen this the episode title, but it wasn't. Jared can be found on Twitter at https://twitter.com/vandroidhelsing The original tweet, which started everything is: https://twitter.com/vandroidhelsing/status/1067476753768042496?s=20 He has a podcast, which can be found here: https://www.megaphonic.fm/bythebywater The Big Cow Theme is made by Lee Abecasis. Hohoho it's Christmas! Or maybe that should be MooMooMoo, because it's also time for Big Cow! Today I'm once again joined b Flex, and were relaying to you the story of the Mootivity. That's right, it's the Nativity, but with Knickers in it, which is the true version. Make sure t relay this episode to your older relatives; gather everyone around the radio and listen in closely! It can be a fun bonding activity. If you're wondering why the music's different in this one, it's because I edited this at my parent's house. I sent the audio for the episode to myself, but neglected to send the theme music. So I got some music from the YouTube Audio Library. The (Usual) Big Cow Theme is made by Lee Abecasis. Late this week isn't it? Sometimes that happens when I'm feeling drained, and boy am I feeling drained at the moment. Largely because of the upcoming emotional labour of going home over the holidays. Anyway, enough of the venting precursor to the show notes; let's get to the show notes. Today I'm joined by Alice Dukinfield, who comes into the show unaware of what the Big Cow even is. She believes the logo Cow to be the titular cow, but it's not, it's just another cow. Once that's cleared up get down to it, and Alice is revealed to be a member of the camp of guests who want to eat Knickers, and who have a very strong and instant denial of the idea that Knickers could be a god. Oh yeah, also Carol Vorderman comes up. Talking points include: An explanation of weight; me possibly being wrong about dinosaurs, please don't rip me apart if I am wrong; being stuck in the car; people watching; Preteen-Mutant-Giant-Cow; an extraordinary thing that happened; why does everyone take such offence at the idea that I'm not doing a podcast about the bigger cow?; compliments of my room; salt taste; the Cow Cultists are back once again; I once again get angry about Giant Pandas; Kid Poison- Do Not Feed to Kids; and yet another ringing endorsement for Banham Zoo. Today on Big Cow, I'm joined by Cat Murphy. It's her first time seeing the titular Big Cow, and she's suitably impressed. We talk about the Night Bankers, and how Knickers is the only one who can stop them. There's also talk of the aquatic nature of various mammals, the question of whether Knickers could bring peace to the Killer Whales, and the fact that David Attenborough should just come on the podcast. Talking points include: He's like Doctor Who; a big burger on the floor; Mr Darcy and Bruce Willis; Do banks have weapons?; This episode sponsored by Terminator Dark Fate, a film I refer to as Dark Genysis; more talk of Sam Hall; Hold him in your head and your heart; and Big Cow, small listenership. The Big Cow Theme is made by Lee Abecasis. Find the Big Cow Podcast on Twitter at @BigCowPodcast. The Big Cow Podcast is created, and hosted by Philip Rodger. Find him on Twitter at @PRodgerMMath.
Today on Big Cow, I'm joined by Dave Hall. We've discussed Cow Tipping quite a bit on the show, but Dave brings actual Cow Tipping experience to the table! Well experience of attempting it anyway. I put forth an idea about where Cow Tipping started, and there's also a bit where I get really into the concept of where protein comes from; Dave meanwhile is not at all convinced of the Godly status of Knickers the Cow. Talking points include: living a lie for 18 months; a Big Strong Man; concerns of being cuckolded by a turtle; "Like a Masacre, but they're still alive"; that which is worshipped is therefore a god; the independently wealthy cow cultist who likes Naruto makes his return; The Wet Box; parting too much of the curtain; and the law where you can't be arrested if you say you can't be arrested. The Big Cow Theme is made by Lee Abecasis. Find the Big Cow Podcast on Twitter at @BigCowPodcast. The Big Cow Podcast is created, and hosted by Philip Rodger. Find him on Twitter at @PRodgerMMath.
We dive *right* into it this week. And by "it", I mean "a discussion about the TV show Jackie Chan Adventures." The concept of cows comes up briefly, but Knickers doesn't really turn up until 7:20 (blaze it). And by "We" I mean me and John Gallagher, who's joining me once again to talk about Knickers, the lesser X-men, and to sing the Men In Black Theme Song. Talking points include: An exploration of childhood; "I didn't say thank you"; more of a hobby than a superpower; what would cows say, and what would people say?; Big Jesus Tales from the Spiderverse; and the big revelation that we're both Woke, and that it's fine. The Big Cow Theme is made by Lee Abecasis. Find the Big Cow Podcast on Twitter at @BigCowPodcast. The Big Cow Podcast is created, and hosted by Philip Rodger. Find him on Twitter at @PRodgerMMath.
Big Cow is here once again, but this time we're deadly serious, and there's no time for jokes. JFK was assassinated 56 years ago from this Friday, and today me and John McInnes will be investigating whether Knickers was involved. Buckle in, and get ready for revelation after revelation, and a few things which will forever change how you view the assassination of the USA's most Acronymed President. We know that Thetans weren't involved, and that cows should be subbed rather and dubbed, but did you know there were secret tapes? You will after you listen to this! You'll be aware of the truth! You'll also be aware of the great, crunchy taste of Meat Corn! Find John McInnes on twitter at @lyebot. The Big Cow Theme is made by Lee Abecasis. Well would you look at that, a new guest on Season 2! I'm joined today by Billie Appleton, who's *so* new to the Big Cow, that she thought it was something else. I always love introducing new people to Knickers, so there's a good bit of that at the start. This episode also features a live tape measuring, the thing that they said could never be done! Not only that, but you'll get to hear a story of familial betrayal, and the lengths a woman went to to survive it. Talking points include: Being a God was Never an Option; A solid argument; What does Knickers have to say?; a proactive God; Cows can have their feelings hurt by being laughed at; the return of the door-to-door cow cultists, one of my favourite bits; shopping for cults; Live on Air Brainwashing; Geese; A Grandmotherly Invasion Force; Big Milk; A pigeon the size of a mini cooper. The Big Cow Theme is made by Lee Abecasis. Find the Big Cow Podcast on Twitter at @BigCowPodcast. The Big Cow Podcast is created, and hosted by Philip Rodger. Find him on Twitter at @PRodgerMMath.
Another Echo episode! This time it's the return visit of Xenia Randle, who wants to know how I'm doing, and to make money from the Big Cow. What this episode is not, is the second Halloween episode, hopefully that'll be next week. This episode focuses a fair bit on the horrible state of the world, so if you want a fun diversion, this isn't really it. Sorry about that. But we don talk about Ming Campbell, and who knows when that last happened!? Also, did I start this off with "speak to" rather than "talk to"? Wait... Do I normally say "speak to"? No, I say "talk to"... right? Right??!? Xenia does a show called "Utter Rot and Poppycock". It's an Echo episode, and I'm joined once again by Maeve. You may remember I described her in Ep 41 as the guest most keen to eat Knickers, and she brings a similar energy to this Halloween special, by not liking Halloween. I manage to win her over a bit towards the end, and there's plenty of good stuff in there about the Big Cow, spooky museums, Maeve's own experiences with growing, and Trump's weirdo drug problem. Also, there's a bit where we reference a pre-show discussion we had about how my Mum finds it hard to grasp the idea of me having female friends. The Big Cow Theme is made by Lee Abecasis. Season 2 continues, and today I'm joined by Rachael Amesbury to talk about everyone's favourite Big Cow. If you've ever wanted to hear about cartoon slaughterhouses, and the special afterlife for cows, then this is the podcast for you. Also, if you want the next instalment of "Philip gets Angry about Belino" then you can't afford to miss this one. Talking points include: A special and majestic beast; everyone's favourite rulers, Mark Long and Sam Hall; Smoking Churchill and the long lives of parrots; watching pets die; a challenge to Sam Hall; Keep your friends close, that's the whole saying; They called him Leviathan; Adam Bovine; and a baffling part at the end where I talk about the Prince of Egypt, and Shrek for no discernible reason. I'm trying to improve the audio editing of this show a bit, and still figuring some of it out. At the moment I'm struggling to raise the volume without making it sound like it was recorded in a metal sphere. Any advice, please let me know. The Big Cow Theme is made by Lee Abecasis. Find the Big Cow Podcast on Twitter at @BigCowPodcast. The Big Cow Podcast is created, and hosted by Philip Rodger. Find him on Twitter at @PRodgerMMath.
Welcome back to Season 2 of Big Cow! Today I'm joined by Anna Kemp, who is herself joined by Philip Rodger (Me). That's right, I'm the guest now! We talk about the Big Cow, what magic is, and what exactly lead me to start this podcast. Also there's a considerable part in which I talk about Control, but what I'm saying isn't about Control, I should note that this was recorded just after the game came out. Talking points include: the discovery of happiness; my occult level and definition of magic; What is God? Big Snek?; The Christian Church and TMNT both have a Michelangelo; Hobbes and Shaw; and a rating of previous guests. The Big Cow Theme is made by Lee Abecasis. Find the Big Cow Podcast on Twitter at @BigCowPodcast. The Big Cow Podcast is created, and (usually) hosted by Philip Rodger. Find him on Twitter at @PRodgerMMath.
That's right, Big Cow has seasons! I didn't know either until an hour ago. I'm taking a couple of weeks off to catch up on things. It's all explained in the episode itself. Big Cow *will* be back. Check out https://twitter.com/BigCowPodcast for the most up to date news.
I...I'm not sure who this is. They say they're Geoff, but they pronounce it "Jeff", and they sound strange, and they've heard of Crocodile Dundee, and they're saying all this stuff about Knickers that isn't true. I don't even know how they got here, or what they want. Something has gone wrong.
Have you ever wanted to hear someone explain an arc of Judge Dredd on a podcast which is supposed to be about a Cow? Then you're in luck! Sam Hall joins me once again, and we get really off topic. We even talk about the opening music, which I really should change at some point. Also, there's a false ending in the middle. this episode goes to some wild places, please be sure you're ready for it.
Tim Goodings joins me on this episode, ready to talk about the Big Cow and fables. We spend a lot of time talking about various fables, trying to find the moral in them, and trying to construct a fable about the Big Cow. There's also the debut of a brand new foursome, here to usher in the end times. Talking points include: how obvious is it that I didn't plan a title for Tim before starting?; yet more questions about Cow Farming being asked of me, someone who knows nothing about Cow Farming; the Harbinger of some sort of God-like Calamity; thoughts on the superiority of a short giraffe; Oh no! He's taken!; Oh wait! He's not!; I almost give a compliment; how do you pronounce Naruto; recursive role play; reminisces about Cecil the Caterpillar; and the bizarre tale of Donkey Cabbages.
Ohohoho Boy, this sure is a late episode. Sorry about that. It was stuck in editing hell, and I gave myself weird standards for it. Anyway, it's here now, and Max Francis is back once again, giving his wisdom on Big Cows, comics, movies, and the show sizes of wrestlers. Wonder at the long description of the Undertaker struggling with his hat! Marvel at conviction with which I say that there's a Cow in USAcres, despite that being wrong! Gasp at the revelation that I'm exactly as stong as John Cena! And don't forget to stick around until after the credits. Who knows what you may find....
Jess Wright joins me once again, on this, the Big Cow episode with the shortest expiry date. We talk a *lot* about the Bigger Than Before meme, and quite a lot about the Feral Hogs. At the time of me uploading this, both of those memes have already passed on. We talk about crisises travelling, failing exams, and other things which make people "have a cow". Also anime, it comes up quite a lot. The podcast Jess mentioned, which I edited out the name of, was "Science Versus".
Episode 35 is here, and I'm joined by Tim Batt! You might know him from real podcasts! We talk about the messages that Knickers brings to us, about how his story is a lesson in excess, and about how he's Jesus after a botched reincarnation. Tim calls me out on projecting my own politics onto Knickers, and in turn I cause him to worry about misplaced worship. Through it all you can hardly tell how deep in SSRI withdrawals I am, though my bitterness at being suspended from twitter might give you a hint. Talking points include: gravity differences; video questions; connection issues, and my trail of sound effects; the opposite of a fun house; NZ's absence from media and maps; Billionaire bunkers; a hand picked audience; "Try and put *this* on a cross, you Romans!"; a Rosetta stone for height; me being angry about Bellino again; Philip and the Angry Inch; Why would I ever stop?; "The Perfect Podcast Idea" soon to be my tagline; Cow gastronomical estimates; and a sunscreen warning for Knickers.
Mad! He called me Mad! But, as time has passed, Theo Worsley has dropped his criticisms of my podcast and is now joining me to talk about Knickers the Big Cow. I got him back though, I accidentally lied to him about which episode this would be. Also I edited the timings of some stuff, and did someone say Sponsors?!? Talking points include: foolish beliefs that Knickers will die; help from the Ghost of Cowsmas past; morality vs farming; Farmers are the Gods of Cows; Psychopomps get considerable discussion, it turns out St Peter is NOT one; Theo's adventures in typing and worship; and Theo's Bizarrely specific stanning of Deadpool.
Flex returns, and this time she wants to talk about Shoebills! In many ways, the animal which is most opposite to Knickers; but maybe that just means they could be better partners. We delve deep into the terrifying reality of these psychopath birds, and into the soothing stability of the Big Cow. We talk about their different approaches to problem solving, the ways they might come into conflict, and how they would fit into the classic tale of a Christmas Carol. Also, this is the first episode in which I actually bring up the fact that my twitter is the best way to keep updated about the show, which is somewhat ironing considering that I've since been suspended from Twitter.
Watch out everyone! This week me and Will Gawned are getting real political. That's right, real politics talk joins the Big Cow talk, and it turns out that they're not as different as you might think. It's an Echosode, so we both know what that means: no talking points!
It's the long awaited Episode 30! I told you not to be worried about it, and now here it is, so I was right to tell you that. I'm once again joined by John McInnes, and it just kind of goes from there. We talk about Birb Twitter, and how the ideas of it could be applied to a Big Cow, but we keep on getting away from that, and it goes all over the place a bit. I was there when it was recorded, and listened to it all in editing, and even I'm not sure where the Transformers bit came from. Also, the audio's pretty rough at the beginning of this one, but it improves further in.
Sorry for the Big Delay this week. It may not be quite the scale of Knickers, but it's still way too Big. Also, you might notice that we've skipped over Episode 30. Do not worry about Episode 30. Anyway, this week I'm joined by Micky Baker to talk about the Big Cow and for Ancient Greek story time. Micky has some interesting ideas about the true nature of the Cow, and one thing leads to another, and then we're talking about Daedalus (I've checked, it was Daedalus). Talking points include: seeking your own bovine destiny; a blimp brung to life; Micky Baker's Dad, a potential new measuring stick; "We can't do it with technology, so let's just give up"; None of us know what's on the other side of the slaughter house; the Steers are sleeper agents, working for the farmer; Keep Politics Out of Cows; the overabundance of Furries in Ancient Greece; finally, some sponsors; and the Earth split like a nut.
Come see the Grand Canyon of Livestock! There used to be a bunch of Wonders of the World, but now there's just one, and it's Knickers the Big Cow! Also, when I said "see" earlier, I actually meant "hear people talk about". Today, helping me to describe the Cow, is special guest host: Flora Donald. Who brings news of Cow Hell, and of Rich, Viscous, Gravy Blood. Talking points include: the Small Cow lobby; the Sam Hall, Mark Long, and Knickers 3-prov; avoiding undermining the majesty of Knickers; Knicker's taste in Musicals, the dobsy test; KFC Gravy; Bovine Anal Encounters, and how considerable size can aid them; a strong endorsement of inside; Cow years; Cow Power per Volume; and sticking it to Stephen King, he's had it too good too long.
Oh dear, this is a mess. Liz Kelly once again joins me to talk about the Big Cow, but Harry Day's also there (sort of), and we're all a bit drunk. Expect lots of cross talk, and most of the talking coming from the guys. Sorry. What you will get from this episode is a hot scoop on my idea for an upcoming episode, an unfathomably long description of Fort Boyard, me being all dramatic and hyperbolic about how bad my eyesight is, and an unfortunate amount of talk about dicks. Once again: sorry.
This sure is a "Souper" episode, because I kept on drinking soup throughout it. Get it? It's also a super episode, because I was joined by Luke Mallison to talk about the Big Cow, especially about a proposed Breaking Bad reboot involving our favourite Big Cow! Also, that Big Chicken comes up again, here's the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vX4Jh-44-Nk Talking points include: little faith in the podcast start; I get angry about Bellino again; an unfinished thought about lions; beard discussion; merch; I try very hard to convince Luke to worship the cow; vegan sausage rolls; Sam Hall is once again used as a ruler; and a Big Boat for a Big Boy.
It's episode 26, which is both special and late. Those two things are connected. I wanted to do something different for this episode, so I did. It's a lot shorter than most episodes, but I'm still pleased with it. It's all about Godzilla, it features interviews with Jess Major, and Godzilla. If this is your first episode, then please be aware that the rest of the show is nothing like this.
[The first upload of this episode was bad and wrong. This one is good instead.] Get ready for a very special (and mildly late) episode of Big Cow, as I'm joined by "Geoff Pearson", the owner of the Big Cow, to talk about the Big Cow. Yes, that's right. It's "actually", "definitely" Geoff Pearson. It's "not" someone doing a voice. It's the "real" Geoff Pearson, and he lets me know all the goings on with Knickers the Cow, and his continued quest to kill Knickers the Cow. Many thanks to Max Francis, who was a massive help in getting Mr. Pearson on the podcast.
Jess Wright joins me once again to talk about the Big Cow, but this time the conversation isn't limited to just the two of us! Inspired by the picture of Kelsey Grammer on my wall, we've channelled Fraiser, and are running a call in advice show. We talk about the Big Cow, and help people with their Big Problems. Talking points are not here, it's an echo episode, you know the drill.
Xenia Randle joins me to talk about Knickers the Big Cow. She's sceptical at first, but is quickly won over to believing in the Big Cow. Well believing that he exists at least. There's a whole load of talk about the Rock in this, and the idea of him starring in Westerns with Knickers, which I think might have come up before? I don't know. I'm so tired. Talking points include: and error on my end; a unit of measurement; a new Dozer picture, which fills in a gap; squids can fly, in retrospect I'm not actually that sure of this, but I don't want to check, wait no, I did check, I was right, the Japanese flying squid exists; Splatoon; Andre the Giant; and more.
Once again, Knickers the Big Cow is being discussed by me and a special guest. Today that guest is Helen Herman, who joins me in wondering about the mind of the Big Cow. This episode was pretty last minute, and I'm tired now. So there're no talking points. Leave me alone.
It turns out that there are still some people I know who haven't seen the Big Cow, even if they're not 100% sure that that's the case. One of those people was Liz Kelly, the very special guest on this episode; so you can here her joy at getting to witness the Big Cow for the first time. Truly magical. Talking points include: a mis-scaled disguise; tall people seeing the tops of fridges, again; "You're tall!"; a god amongst men, a god amongst cows; Cow vogue; a good cowboy voice; mistakes in pronunciation; the quickest decision to worship; the coincidental timing of Hugh Grants retirement and the royal wedding; and some standard white man credit claiming.
Well, well, well, look who's back. That's right, it's Max Francis, calling in from Canada. That makes this the first episode recorded over the internet, and as such there's a fair bit of crosstalk and stuff. We talk a lot of shops in this one, really going behind the scenes on the podcast. This is a return episode, so you know what that means? That's right, no talking points!
Welcome back to Big Cow, sponsored by Pixels. This time I'm joined by Will Gawned, an actual real Australian. He brings to the table his concerns about the Big Cow, his belief that it should be regulated, and his knowledge of how the Australian government might do that. Also there's a real big diversion into Rambo. Sponsored by Pixels. Talking points include: The Island, again, and the fact that Sausage Party is basically the same film; a good, good, Godzilla; Australia's Big Things; immortality for cowards; Big Cow is a gas, a universe, everything; I badly explain the trinity of Big Cows; wax fruit schemes; and an emotional tree rollercoaster. Sponsored by Pixels.
Anna Kemp is back to talk about the Big Cow, she was the first guest, and now she's also the eighteenth. We talk a lot about how perception of things works, and how it shapes our reality. We also talk about the comparative heights of previous guests, and talk directly to the audience. Also Draclear and stuff gets a mention. It's an Echosode, what do you want? Talking points? You're not getting them.
Big Cow, it's still there, and I'm still talking. This week I'm joined in my talking by Lee Abecasis, who has actually never seen the Big Cow before. Wow! We go pretty deep on the film "Johnny Got His Gun" which came out in 1971, but we call is "Johnny Get Your Gun", and claim it came out in the '40s. Talking points include: Too Big!; a very big net; not actually a talking point, but I think at one point you can hear gulls in the background; Knockermen, a term from the Discworld books which I wrongly apply; Italian - the language of truth; Thinkin' 'bout my size; people who mate with birds; robes of woven grass; and Speed 2 Cruise Control.
Don't you think it's crazy how sometimes the Moon will move in a special way, and as a result a week will have two Wednesdays and no Thursdays? I sure do. The Moon was probably moved as such by the incredible gravity of Knickers the Big Cow! Anyway, today I'm joined by Ivy Thomas, who finally asks the questions which have been on some people's lips. The questions the people want answers to. The first guest who hasn't been afraid of Big Big Cow. Talking points include: me forgetting what the Titanic did; Cows, the modern dinosaurs; a young god; a tier list of tastiness; how frogs perceive things; recreational mooing; La Haine; alone with cows; and a testicle experience.
Today on Big Cow I'm joined by Josey, who's such a lovely person that she worries about offending me with her answers to my Big Cow questions. She also introduces me to Australia's "Big Things", which I should really have already known about considering that I do this podcast. Talking points include: relative size; Downsizing starring Matt Damon, a film which neither of us have seen; all films must address Knickers; The Man, a film which I almost remember; Christian School; the continuing story of my Big Cow Book; Pascal's Wager; and Scrangetribe, the hot new word which we'll soon all be using.
