Optimizing Online Arbitrage with a Prep Center Optimizing Online Arbitrage with a Prep Center Precision Prep- Prep Center Overview What is Online Arbitrage (OA)? It's a simple way to make money on Amazon by shopping online, in your pajamas if you want, at any hour of the day, right from the comfort of your home. This basic and straightforward method is called Online Arbitrage. With Online Arbitrage, you can shop for your inventory on your computer at home-and then sell this inventory for a profit by listing it on Amazon to ship to customers directly, or send to Amazon for FBA service. Online Arbitrage is a legitimate business model that can be profitable and successful. It is making money from a price difference between purchasing physical goods from an online source at a lower cost and reselling these same goods for a higher price. Sourcing is done online, and this inventory is sold online. If you add some outsourcing-you could run your entire business without seeing or touching a product. If you also use FBA-you may never even talk to a customer. Exciting isn't it? Basic Steps of OA: 1. Go to a retail website. 2. Search for items that you can buy for a lower price to resell on Amazon.com for a higher price. 3. Order those items and have them shipped to you or a prep center. 4. When your shipment arrives at your prep center or your home inspect your items. 5. List your new inventory on Amazon. 6. Manually fulfill your orders or ship them to Amazon for FBA services. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/jessica-hill00/support

If you are selling 2%+ of that then you are consistent with other Amazon Sellers. Here is a quick Goal setting Breakdown: Goal 1: $31.25 profit per week/$125/mo- Amazon $625 of Retail Value in the warehouses to make $31.25 per week Goal 2: $62.50 profit per week/$250/mo- Amazon $1250 of Retail Value in the warehouses to make $62.50 per week Goal 3: $125 profit per week/$500/mo- Amazon $2500 of Retail Value in the warehouses to make $125 per week Goal 4: $250 profit per week/$1000/mo- Amazon $5k of Retail Value in the warehouses to make $250 per week Goal 5: $500 profit per week/$2000/mo- Amazon $10k of Retail Value in the warehouses to make $500 per week. Retail Arbitrage Basics, Buying in stores to sell on Amazon, Amazon Selling 101, Sell on Amazon Retail Arbitrage is a great way to expand your Amazon FBA / eBay / Mercari / Shopify / Facebook marketplace business by procuring inventory and grow your replenishable items at stores near you. Retail Arbitrage is a great way for new sellers to get started since you can source for inventory for the various platforms immediately. Retail Arbitrage Stores to Explore Walmart Target Kohl's Macys JCPenney Walgreens CVS Rite Aid Dick's sporting goods Home Depot Lowes •When I am coaching clients the first thing I tell them after setting up their business is to start with their nearest store and scan every aisle. •The more you scan the more you will learn. THIS IS THE HARD PART! •The top selling categories from my experience are: Grocery, Toys, Health, Beauty, Books/Media and Clothing- in that order •SCAN SCAN SCAN •Basic thresholds to follow when selecting products to sell on Amazon: ROI 30% or greater Rank Read Keepa- we will discuss this later Profit of $5 minimum You should ALWAYS consult Keepa for buying decisions- these are just basic thresholds. NOTE: Your business model may vary. •BSR- Best Seller Rank is shown on items in the Amazon Catalog •Take into consideration if the item has been out of stock, if out of stock the rank will increase. Check Keepa for sales history and rank history •If you would be the only FBA seller then the rank may improve. Also check Keepa for historical data when there were FBA Sellers on the listing. •Seasonal items rank will typically tank after all is sold for the season- learn the history of that ASIN by viewing Keepa or making a buy list from the previous seasonal item's sales. •Once you are acquainted with your brand list start scanning in stores. •Navigate to the clearance in your stores. •Learn the sales cycles of your stores- There are sales cycles for categories within the store like BOGO Vitamins at Walgreens •Go to your local grocery stores and scan items that are in their sales cycles. •When you are scanning do not leave out ANY category. Example: You may not eat gluten free but specialty foods have been a big moneymaker on Amazon since people need that diet but do not have access to it locally. Same goes for any diet food or international foods. •Once you have mastered one store then go to the next closest store near you and do the same. Take note of any clearance days by making relationships with the cashiers and management. •Always as for discounts when buying in bulk- if I plan to spend over $500 at a local store I will create a relationship with management and ask if I could get 15% off if I buy over $500. It sometimes works!!! •Be sure to couple savings. Example: 30% off Kohl's coupon with Kohl's card, $10 Kohl's Cash for every $50 spent. TIP: You can put $1 on your Kohl's card to take advantage of the savings then you can put the remainder balance on a cash back or points back card of your choice. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/jessica-hill00/support

It's a simple way to make money on Amazon by shopping online, in your pajamas if you want, at any hour of the day, right from the comfort of your home. This basic and straightforward method is called Online Arbitrage. PROS There is an abundance of inventory to source from. It's always open-you can shop all hours. Quantities are higher than what is available at physical stores. Your items are conveniently shipped and delivered to you or your prep center. Easy to scale because of the opportunity to purchase large quantities of diversified inventory. CONS There is a learning curve so some time has be invested. Need to understand how to interpret data to make good buying decisions. Can't see expiration dates for grocery items. Items may arrive damaged. To make money shopping online-you need to know your numbers. You need to buy items at a lower price to resell at a higher price. Enough of a price difference to cover your inventory cost, all your fees, prep costs, shipping costs, and be left with a profit for yourself. Here are the numbers you need to think about when looking for inventory: · The total cost of your purchased inventory including tax and shipping. · Amazon fees (about 30% for FBA and 15% for just listing on the marketplace for MF) · Shipping costs to Amazon for FBA or direct to your customers for MF · The retail price on Amazon If you take the Amazon retail price and subtract the expenses, and there is still money left over, that is your profit. We will discuss this later-but you can use Amazon's profit calculator as well as RevSeller to do the math for you. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/jessica-hill00/support

Let's talk with Ecommerce Empowerment Coach Michael Morejon about his Retail Arbitrage journey. We will discuss sourcing via RA and specific sourcing outlet stores to sell on Amazon. To learn more about Michael visit his coach page: https://www.ecommerceempowerment.com/courses/michael Hola! Michael was born in NYC, but raised and still living in Miami, FL. He's Cuban, also speaks Spanish, and is excited to help you with your business! He and his wife have been selling on Amazon for over 6 years after listening to a podcast where a FBA seller was sharing their story. From that day, he started learning how to sell online by thrifting, garage sales, estate sales and just random things from home. The first few years were full of ups and downs! They made lots of mistakes, watched videos, purchased courses, read ebooks, joined Facebook groups (paid and free), bought wrong items, lost profit, and got coaching (thanks Jess Hill!). They have been able to grow their business to multiple six figures in sales for the past 3 years. Over time, his wife has been able to work full-time doing ecommerce from home. They turned their backyard into a prep center (for themselves), and have several VAs overseas and part-time local employees helping them source and ship. He also sells on other platforms like eBay, Mercari, Poshmark or Facebook. Their main strategies on Amazon are Retail & Online Arbitrage, as well as some wholesale which continues to grow every year as they grow their team. Michael is a full-time Special Education teacher with a Bachelor's degree in Special Ed. He's been teaching over 10 years in various grades or positions. They recently welcomed their first child in 2020, who has been a huge blessing and addition to their family. Some of his hobbies include: reading, playing video games, watching anime, movies, traveling, eating healthy, learning about business and listening to music (Spotify is life). Mike specializes in the following areas, but don't hesitate to ask him about something not listed here: Getting started on Amazon, opening an account Sending your first shipment via Seller Central or Inventory Lab Finding products in stores or online via RA (Retail Arbitrage) or OA (Online Arbitrage) Finding distributors for wholesale products Repricing, using software to get reimbursements, keeping your account healthy Hiring and managing VAs (Virtual assistants) to help you save time and improve your business Selling on other platforms like ebay, Mercari, Poshmark, Facebook Marketplace He looks forward to helping you grow your business and learn strategies to hopefully save time and be more efficient in ecommerce.
