There really are three basic steps that doctors use when you have a broken toe. The medical term for this procedure is called "closed reduction." We don't cut the broken toe open, look at the bones and put them in place. Instead, we leave the skin closed and manipulate the toe to pop the fracture back in place. This is a very common procedure doctors do. I even have done it many times in people's homes, most often with a runner who has a broken toe that really hurts. I am going to explain the basic steps...but do not do this on your own! What are the basic steps if you have a broken toe, it's crooked and you want to put it back in place? Well, that's what we're talking about today on the Doc On The Run Podcast.

Feedback is one of the most crucial things you need to be able to give and receive in the workplace, and yet it is one of the biggest things people are afraid to do in the workplace! Fear not, because in this episode, Kimberly will be talking about the basic steps of effective feedback, the different ways to communicate your feedback, and the things to be mindful of before you decide to offer someone your feedback in the workplace. Believe it or not, giving and receiving feedback can be an incredibly positive and pleasant experience! Tune in to this episode to find out how to master the art of feedback today. KEY POINTS: The 4 Basic Steps of Feedback: Ask, Explain, Share, Request Why you need to provide both positive and negative feedback Vertical and Lateral communication: their definitions, differences, benefits, and disadvantages What you can do to improve your feedback & communication Questions to ask yourself before you provide feedback The importance of compassion when giving feedback QUOTABLES: “Radical transparency helps bring everyone along the journey, even if the feedback you're sharing, if the new initiative that's happening, if there's some change in management – doesn't necessarily mean that everyone's reaction is going to be good, and that's okay. What's important is that people are in the know.” “Sometimes, feedback needs to be communicated through several different channels. Not every piece of feedback has to be attributed to the person. It can be generalized feedback.” RESOURCES: Have career and leadership development questions? Summer's a bit of a different season. Your whole routine may be different from your usual day-to-day, there's a lot going on socially, you might be going on a vacation sometime soon (or at least take some time off)..How does this affect your nutrition? This week Kristine and Johan discuss what you can do to stay on track this summer without it things being all-or-nothing (a mistake many people make by 'waiting' until after summer to pick things up again).A lot of people are planning to start their next phases (fat loss, etc.) sometime after summer. In case that's you, remember that it's probably a good idea to already begin to build some habits now, so that you'll already be in a better place by the time summer ends.Doing something (basic) is always better than doing nothing and then being worse off when you do want to start a diet :)TIMESTAMPS:0:00 Introduction7:37 Taking small steps now to get a head start13:55 Doing SOMETHING instead of going all-or-nothing20:29 What our clients do before starting a fat loss phase32:18 Outro**This episode is brought to you by Odyssey Coaching Systems and KA Nutrition** More from Talking Nutrition and Odyssey Coaching Systems
In this video, Beau and Amanda talk about the initial steps of the franchising process. Amanda suggested bringing in different brands and concepts for a small group of pre-qualified people to hear in speed rounds. The first step is to talk to Beau about financing and feasibility, followed by completing an assessment and having a conversation about background and goals with Amanda. Amanda will share franchise categories and provide education on investment ranges, after which she will conduct research and present two to three franchises for deeper exploration. The due diligence process will then begin. If you'd like to meet with Beau to talk financing, book a call here ( http://bookwithbeau.com/ )

Welcome to The Nonlinear Library, where we use Text-to-Speech software to convert the best writing from the Rationalist and EA communities into audio. This is: 3 Basic Steps to Reduce Personal Liability as an Org Leader, published by Deena Englander on March 6, 2023 on The Effective Altruism Forum. It's come to my attention that many of the smaller EA orgs are not putting into place basic protection measures that keep their leaders safe. In the world we live in, risk mitigation and potential lawsuits are a fact of life, and I wouldn't want anyone to put themselves at greater risk just because they are unaware of the risk and easy steps to avoid it. Rule #1: Incorporate. I know most are hesitant to start an actual non-profit since that is more expensive and time-consuming, but at the least, you can form an LLC. That means that any liability accrued by the org CANNOT pass on to you (I think there are a few exceptions, but you can research that). LLCs are easy to start, and are pretty inexpensive (a few hundred to start, and then annually). Rule #2: Get your organization its own bank account It is NOT a good idea to keep your organization's finances together with your personal ones for many reasons. That increases the risk of accidental fraud and financial mismanagement. If you have your funds and the org's funds together, you run the risk of using the wrong funds and increasing your liability, since it's not clear which activities are personal (not protected by the LLC) or from the org. You also can't really keep track of your expenses well when it's all mixed up. You don't need a fancy bank account - any will do. Rule #3: Get general liability insurance Basic liability insurance is an expense (mine costs about $1300 USD a year, but that's for my particular services), but if you're providing any type of guidance, mentoring, services, or events, it's a must. I can go into all sorts of potential lawsuits that you hopefully won't have, but if you even have one, your organization will likely go bankrupt if you don't have the protection insurance provides. This is not meant to be an in-depth article of all the things you can do, but EVERY EA org that is providing some type of service should have this in place. There's no reason to have our leaders assuming unnecessary risk. I don't know what this looks like if you're fiscally sponsored - I'd assume that they assume the liability - but I would love it if someone could clarify. I hope we can start changing the standard practices to protect our leaders and organizations. If anyone has any questions about their particular org, please feel free to reach out. Thanks for listening. To help us out with The Nonlinear Library or to learn more, please visit nonlinear.org.

Optimizing Online Arbitrage with a Prep Center Optimizing Online Arbitrage with a Prep Center Precision Prep- Prep Center Overview What is Online Arbitrage (OA)? It's a simple way to make money on Amazon by shopping online, in your pajamas if you want, at any hour of the day, right from the comfort of your home. This basic and straightforward method is called Online Arbitrage. With Online Arbitrage, you can shop for your inventory on your computer at home-and then sell this inventory for a profit by listing it on Amazon to ship to customers directly, or send to Amazon for FBA service. Online Arbitrage is a legitimate business model that can be profitable and successful. It is making money from a price difference between purchasing physical goods from an online source at a lower cost and reselling these same goods for a higher price. Sourcing is done online, and this inventory is sold online. If you add some outsourcing-you could run your entire business without seeing or touching a product. If you also use FBA-you may never even talk to a customer. Exciting isn't it? Basic Steps of OA: 1. Go to a retail website. 2. Search for items that you can buy for a lower price to resell on Amazon.com for a higher price. 3. Order those items and have them shipped to you or a prep center. 4. When your shipment arrives at your prep center or your home inspect your items. 5. List your new inventory on Amazon. 6. Manually fulfill your orders or ship them to Amazon for FBA services. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/jessica-hill00/support

PROS There is an abundance of inventory to source from. It's always open-you can shop all hours. Quantities are higher than what is available at physical stores. Your items are conveniently shipped and delivered to you or your prep center. Easy to scale because of the opportunity to purchase large quantities of diversified inventory. CONS There is a learning curve so some time has be invested. Need to understand how to interpret data to make good buying decisions. Can't see expiration dates for grocery items. Items may arrive damaged. To make money shopping online-you need to know your numbers. You need to buy items at a lower price to resell at a higher price. Enough of a price difference to cover your inventory cost, all your fees, prep costs, shipping costs, and be left with a profit for yourself. Here are the numbers you need to think about when looking for inventory: · The total cost of your purchased inventory including tax and shipping. · Amazon fees (about 30% for FBA and 15% for just listing on the marketplace for MF) · Shipping costs to Amazon for FBA or direct to your customers for MF · The retail price on Amazon If you take the Amazon retail price and subtract the expenses, and there is still money left over, that is your profit. We will discuss this later-but you can use Amazon's profit calculator as well as RevSeller to do the math for you. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/jessica-hill00/support

In this week's episode, I talk about the basic ways to improve our body-mind connection. This is a common subject in my office with my clients, so I thought we could dedicate a few podcasts to this subject, starting with this one. 3 Basic Steps to Improving Your Body-Mind Connection: 1. Start With Your Wins: focus on what body-mind connections are already working in your life. 2. Scan Your Body: observe where & what is happening in your body; are you feeling pain, numbness, cold/hot, weakness, tightness, achy, more. 3. Use Positive Language About Yourself: stay positive in the words you use to describe yourself, your body & your life. Despite their bad reputation over some business practices, Amazon is an important and powerful tool that you can use to test your wholesale or retail strategy without having to dive into the deep end before you've learned how to swim. The searches on Amazon are very purchase-intensive, the vast majority of user who look for an item aren't looking to read reviews or how-to's of that product, they're looking for the product itself with intent to buy. This means you can use the platform to focus your strategy around how customers search for your product, and products like yours, among a large and competitive market with a diverse user base who can be intensely loyal to brands they find there. Here are the three most important basic steps to getting your products selling on Amazon Build and use your email list: chances are some of the consumers on your listing are avid Amazon users, who should be alerted that their favorite brand is now available through the mega-market. Using a contest, sign-in poll or promotional code give-away to gather the contact information of Amazon users, then target those emails with exclusive offers. Increase your sales velocity: Invest in sponsored search results, that is those handful of options Amazon always comes up with near the top of any list, watermarked with "sponsored result". These are pay-per-click products that retailers have tagged with a variety of relevant keywords, that show up whenever those keywords are searched, regardless of other parameters. Keep an eye on your expenses with this method, as it is pay per click, not sale, costs can quickly run-away if your item ends up competing with a bigger named brand that gets hundreds of thousands of searches a day, or more. Use negative keywords to avoid being lumped in with major name brands you can't compete with. Use automatic targeting: Expand your keyword association vocabulary , and find out how customers are most likely to search for you. Chances are, how you search for your brand and products isn't quite the same way your consumers search for them, due to your closer familiarity with the items. You'd be surprised how many ways a customer, with wildly varying degrees of understanding of the product, will describe what they're looking for, and it will pay to include some of the more often used search terms you and your team may never have considered.
