    Episode 42 has finally arrived after a gruelling 7 months of editing. Rhea is a forward-thinking, larger than life cultural critic and journalist with a history of throwing parties and getting up to various things in the ever-changing, forward-thinking Toronto nightlife scene. Rhea's online publication, cunt magazine, has been at the center of various speculations and comments since its inception.In our conversation, we touch on a number of things, including a photo. The photo in question in this episode depicts two girls in a cage. We don t get to this photo until the end of the episode and unfortunately the phone call is abruptly cut short. So, in the end, we find out almost nothing about the haunting image in question.     On this very special 40th episode of the podcast, I sit down with Ben Stager. Ben is a comedian, writer, performer, and fellow podcaster — a viral social media prodigy captivating audiences across every platform in existence. His dry wit and sharp humor has earned him a reputation as one of the city's most up-and-coming comedians. In fact, it is my personal opinion that Ben is funnier than any of the other comedians I've had on the podcast — No shade to them but, you know, that's just how I feel. Is that a problem? You can catch Ben at every comedy club in the city, every night of the week. He's not shy. I know this because I have seen him perform twice, and both times, I was thinking to myself, "I should DM this guy and ask him to be on the podcast." He says what he wants, which has earned him mad respect with the locals and with many OG comedians like Bill Burr and shit. He can sometimes be crazy, which is not good, but recently, he got that under control thanks to some wellness techniques he learned at a wellness retreat. He obsesses over comedy day and night and almost never takes breaks. However, when his body is on the verge of failure, he always takes a much needed break. It is in these "restful Ben moments," as he himself refers to them, where you can catch him in his living room, chilling. He sometimes goes grocery shopping, too, filling his cart with all of his favourite foods and provisions, such as milk and nuts. Something else about Ben is that he seemingly loves to take road trips. He makes frequent stops at OnRoute rest stations which interestingly, are all owned by a British asset management firm. I personally always found this information disconcerting, but during those long drives to let's say, Gatineau, I often choose to ignore the company ownership revelation due to my body needing a quick rest. I'm sure Ben and his posse feel the same way.     Jake (or 0FJAKE) is a pseudonymous blogger, life coach, and fellow podcaster. His latest project, Base Colors, uses hex codes to enable users to mint any color and own it as a digital asset or NFT. Jake opens up about the inspiration for this project and what led him to get into the crypto space in the first place.  We go deep into the nitty-gritty of crypto, memecoins, and more in this episode.     Ana Konda is a Macedonian born musician based in Toronto. She's an odd jobs-woman, a daughter and a friend, currently 27 years old. Her no-f*cks-given attitude has earned her a reputation as someone to not f*ck with. Raised in the Balkan organized crime underbelly known as East York, she is no stranger to salacious scandals and disturbed individuals. The dimly lit alleys and dubious characters make for an atmosphere so deeply unsettling, Kafka-esque, and Lynchian, that even huge dudes feel unsafe. For Ana, though, it's no big deal. She's never felt fear. I asked her if she knew what fear meant and she said she'd never heard that word before. Her upcoming solo EP, Trauma Porn, is a coming-of-age narrative-based exploration of sexuality and violence in early womanhood. Her sound, which is unique as hell, weaves together Euro-style beats, intricate guitar riffs, and deeply personal lyrics. The EP will be dropping this summer but if you listen to this episode, you can hear a sneak preview (which is exclusive, by the way.) When she's not making music or strolling through the east end, Ana is likely hanging with her fabulous group of girlfriends who text regularly in an iMessage group chat.     Nathan Hare is a stand-up comedian, writer, and actor based in Toronto. After starting out on Twitter and eventually finding his groove there, Nathan expanded to other social media apps like Instagram and TikTok, to name a few. His sarcastic humour and down-to-earth vibes quickly propelled him into the ever-growing ensemble of comedy content creators in Toronto's bustling West End neighbourhood. Nathan is also an accomplished copywriter. His work has been featured on CBC and BuzzFeed—and he has also done a bit of work with Toronto's no-nonsense NDP party. When he's not creating viral media content, Nathan can be found hosting a weekly comedy show every Wednesday evening. Beyond that, he is often trekking across the city, heading to or from a hangout session with his crew of friends. These hangout sessions tend to vary in length, ranging from quick chats on the street to days-long affairs. It's good to have real conversations with real people. Most of us spend eight hours a day doomscrolling on our iPhones or tablets, but the truth is—it's really, really messing with our Brain DNA. No one knows what the long-term implications of any of this could be, and to top it off, the government hasn't been collecting enough data on the subject. So, we're left in the dark over here, not knowing what to expect. Personally, I believe that in the next decade or so, with the help of new data collection methods along with advancements in AI technology, we'll likely have a much better idea of just how much all of this endless doomscrolling or doomsurfing (whatever you want to call it) is directly contributing to the likelihood of humans developing even more crazy mental disorders. Throughout history, we humans have proven to be very resilient, though, so there *are* reasons to remain optimistic about all of this, which is exactly what Nathan does when he's not creating video content or hanging out with his crew of friends.     Jordanne Brown is a stand-up comedian, writer, and performer based in Toronto. I first encountered Jordanne a few months ago at one of Toronto's legendary community spaces, Bar Orwell, located on Dundas West. Jordanne essentially wrapped the audience around her little finger and rocked the room, firing off one joke after another as if they were bullets shooting out of a gun. Bar Orwell was absolutely buzzin'— "bzzzz." After Jordanne's set, I buzzed up out of my seat and headed to the bar. It's time for a drink, I thought to myself, eagerly pushing my way through the one or two people in my way. As I scoped out the drink fridge, I remembered that I don't always need alcohol to have a good time, so I opted for a Coke. The bartender, who I can't remember anything about, nodded in approval, "Nice choice," he affirmed. The next thing I knew he was slamming the can down on the bar in front of me. He grasped my Coke with his left hand and slipped his right index finger under the tab, pulling back at it teasingly, as if to imply, "You want me to open this can pretty bad, huh?" I did want that. He looked down at the can and then back up at me, our eyes locked, he paused. Something felt off. Why wasn't he opening my Coke? What the f*ck is going on here? Sensing my fear and confusion, the bartender began explaining, "So, before I open this, there's something you should know..." He was being super serious, like, in a way where it made me feel like he wasn't going to give me my Coke. He continued, "There is currently no ice because we don't have a sink behind the bar." I was shook. No ice? What the—? "Damn," I muttered. I then quickly got my shit together and decided I'll just get the Coke anyway—and did. He instantly cracked it open and handed it to me just as I gave him my 5 bucks or however much it was, but I was pissed. I don't even think I said thank you. I slowly made my way back to my seat, thinking to myself, "no ice equals no tip." I sat down and sipped my warm Coke. The once buzzin' room was now filled with nothing but dread, for me at least. The legendary Bar Orwell suddenly didn't feel so legendary.     In this episode, I sit down with Cole to discuss a photo he took of some fruit from the market. Despite the fact that years have passed since he took the photo, and the physical fruits have long since disappeared, they do continue to exist in one place—Cole's twisted mind. In Cole's imagination, the fruits may have taken on new, surrealistic qualities, with exaggerated colours and distorted shapes. Perhaps they have even taken on a sinister quality, becoming symbols of decay and death. Through the lens of Cole's camera and his creative vision, the fruits have been transformed into something more than mere objects—they have become part of Cole's personal mythology, infused with his utterly twisted perspective and worldview. While they may no longer exist in the physical world, they remain as a powerful symbol in Cole's psyche. In this way, the photo becomes a reflection not only of the transience of life, but also of the power of the human imagination to transform and transcend the limitations of reality. Something crazy happened, though—and feel free to sound off in the comments or on Twitter if you've ever had a similar experience—halfway through my blizzard, I noticed the cookie bits were dissipating, and then, they disappeared altogether. The entire bottom half of the Blizzard was just plain vanilla ice cream. I messaged Jamison about it and he knew what I was talking about. He said the same thing had happened to him.
