The Pursuing HER Purpose podcast is a game-changer in the world of entrepreneurship and personal development. Hosted by Kat, Amy, and Abby, this podcast provides an authentic and relatable space for women to explore their passions, overcome challenges, and find fulfillment in both their personal and professional lives. With each episode, they inspire listeners to take action, embrace vulnerability, and pursue their purpose with confidence.
One of the best aspects of this podcast is the diverse range of topics covered. From starting a business to finding balance as a working mom, no topic is off-limits. The hosts share their own experiences and provide practical tips that can be applied to various aspects of life. Whether you're just starting out or have been on your entrepreneurial journey for years, there is something valuable for everyone.

Their chemistry is evident in every episode, creating an atmosphere that feels like sitting down with friends for an insightful conversation. They offer a refreshing perspective on success and emphasize the importance of supporting other women along the way.

The hosts' authenticity and passion shine through in every episode, leaving listeners feeling motivated and empowered to pursue their own purpose with enthusiasm and determination.
This is the very last episode of the Pursuing HER Purpose podcast. And as always, we're here to talk about how we came to this very difficult decision. We hope you leave this episode with understanding and inspiration as you go forth in your entrepreneurial journey. We share what it ultimately came down to when the three of us decided to shut this business down. The conversation wasn't easy and we all took a weekend to really think things over before having a more formal heart-to-heart. When it comes to closing a business there are certain nuts and bolts that take time to work out. We talk about who we needed to inform first and why it was important for us to let those individuals know. It is important to all three of us that we fulfill all the outstanding promises we've made and want you to know that if you are a student of ours, you will continue to have lifetime access to any of our courses you may have purchased.A sincere thank you goes out to each and every one of you who have ever downloaded an episode, supported us, and cheered for us along the way. All of us are so glad this business happened and we are all better business owners because of it. We are cheering for you whether it's time for you to make a push, a pivot, a pause, or otherwise in your business. This is a great episode to listen to if you have your own podcast, might be thinking of starting your own podcast someday, or for those of you who do any public speaking. Over the last four years we have grown three podcasts, hosted over 300 episodes, and have been guests on over 100 shows. At this point we have taught many women how to podcast and Abby even coaches women on how to improve their podcasting skills. We are sharing our biggest takeaways when it comes to all things podcasting throughout this episode. The most important thing to remember is to stay true to who you are. Think about what makes you unique. The biggest thing that leads to burnout when it comes to podcasting is when someone isn't being authentically themselves. We share an exercise you can do that can help you get feedback from others on what makes you, you. We also want to continuously improve as podcasters. We offer suggestions on what you can do to make sure this is happening. Be sure you are listening to your audience's feedback. When Amy and Abby first started podcasting they got feedback on the pace of their natural delivery and implemented those suggestions right away. Finally, we touch base on how it is so important to ask your audience to help you. This can be from everything to growing your show, to rating & reviewing it, to purchasing your own offers. And don't just ask them one time. Ask them over and over and over again. Your audience can't help you unless they know how! You might be surprised with some of the points driven home in this episode. It's Amy with a solo one this week and I'm focusing in on what it really means to be resilient as a business owner. I believe this is one of my strengths as an entrepreneur and I'm not going to tell you that there isn't a time or a place for a pivot or to move away from something. To be resilient in business means to be able to recover quickly from setbacks. Mistakes happen, we all know that. But what you do to bounce back from those failures is what is going to make you flex your resiliency muscles. In this episode, I share my personal journey from my beginning days of blogging to how those lessons directly transposed into some of the most important skills I brought with me when my sister Krystle and I started Expecting and Empowered. If something in your business doesn't feel right or if it truly isn't working, don't be afraid to make an intentional pivot. Remind yourself that what you are building today will come with you on your next adventure. We want you to tune in, listen to your heart and your schedule, and make sure that you are doing things for your mind that allow you to move forward if and when you're ready.Workshop: How to Launch a Profitable PodcastLet's connect!Purposeful Week Planner: https://www.pursuingherpurpose.com/shopOur WEBSITE: https://www.pursuingherpurpose.comINSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/pursuingherpurpose/MEET AMY: http://instagram.com/ameskiefer/MEET KAT: https://www.instagram.com/kat.herro/ MEET ABBY: http://instagram.com/abbyrosegreen/

We have our first ever goal achievement coach on the show today, Kristin Burke. Kristin also happens to a student from the very first mastermind cohort that we launched. Today, Kristin is talking with us about ways to gain clarity, grow our confidence, and not only make but actually progress towards achieving our goals.First off, Kristin explains to us what a goal achievement coach is and how she got into this line of work. She also shares the four characteristics that she's seen time and time again set goal achievers apart from goal setters. Kristin explains what the three major roadblocks are that get in the way of us achieving our goals and how we can tell when it might be time to pivot or re-write the goals that we are working on.Having a vision for yourself and working on strengthening your mindset can have a huge impact on helping you achieve your goals. If you're not sure where to start when it comes to writing your own vision, Kristin recommends simply asking yourself where you want to be in three to five years from now. She also shares some things that will help strengthen your mindset like facing your fears, having a plan, and tracking.Follow Kristin on InstagramKristin's WebsiteListen to Kristin's Podcast; Elite AchievementWorkshop: How to Launch a Profitable PodcastLet's connect!Purposeful Week Planner: https://www.pursuingherpurpose.com/shopOur WEBSITE: https://www.pursuingherpurpose.comINSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/pursuingherpurpose/MEET AMY: http://instagram.com/ameskiefer/MEET KAT: https://www.instagram.com/kat.herro/ MEET ABBY: http://instagram.com/abbyrosegreen/
There are five business philosophies that I, Kat, have found to really change everything for me when it comes to being an entrepreneur. Today I am getting behind the mic to share what these are and the impact each one of them has had on my life. Now, they aren't going to be your typical marketing strategies that you might hear in a business class but more along the lines of what is going to help you show up in your business in order to succeed. The first strategy I delve into is taking no “L's”. I explain what I mean by this and why it is the philosophy that I am most proud of overall. Next, I cover why I don't go alone. Finding mentors has made a major difference for me on my entrepreneurial journey, and spoiler alert, they don't always have to be paid options. Then I get into why it's so important to make sure you are focusing on revenue generating activities within your business. I even share an activity that you can do that will help you figure out which tasks are actually pulling in an income for you. After that, I share a personal story about living out my core values and why this philosophy is key to succeeding in business. And finally, I share why operating from a place of integrity is my ultimate not only as an entrepreneur, but as a leader as well. This list of strategies is meant to help you reflect on where you might want to take your business in the future or perhaps it will help you realize what areas of business you have grown in. Chances are, you started your business to help other people in some way. And we are here to help you make a bigger impact on those whose lives you are making a difference in each and every day. It's Abby here with a solo episode this week and you guys know I love anything that has to do with personal growth and I love reading. So I thought, why not do an episode based entirely on one of the most impactful books that I've read recently; The Mountain Is You by Brianna Wiest. I talk you through some of my biggest takeaways from this book that have also really resonated with other female entrepreneurs in my life.Amy, Kat and I all know that as an entrepreneur it's not just business and it's not just personal. The two go hand in hand. Oftentimes as women, if it feels like you're thriving in one area it can feel like you're depleted in the other. We hear it so often from this community that you have a lot going on and you feel stuck. You can't get out of a rut. But what if I told you that your problems aren't problems, they are symptoms of you?Throughout the episode I walk you through how you can overcome these internal barriers and turn perceived obstacles into opportunities. I go through the key points of the book including understanding what the mountain is, tools for climbing the mountain, and how to navigate the ascent. I also touch on how to apply these concepts to your business. If this message is hitting home for you and you know another female entrepreneur who could benefit from listening, we would love it if you could share this episode with her!The Mountain Is You by Brianna WiestLet's connect!Purposeful Week Planner: https://www.pursuingherpurpose.com/shopOur WEBSITE: https://www.pursuingherpurpose.comINSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/pursuingherpurpose/MEET AMY: http://instagram.com/ameskiefer/MEET KAT: https://www.instagram.com/kat.herro/ MEET ABBY: http://instagram.com/abbyrosegreen/

We think online courses are an incredible way for you to make ongoing revenue as a business owner. If you're contemplating on whether or not an online course might be the next right move for you and your business, you're going to want to hear what we have to say in this episode.Or maybe you are about to launch your offer out into the world but don't know what steps to take to ensure its success? That's exactly what we are sharing today. Oftentimes people have the misconception that the success of a launch has to do with the actual day it happens. When in fact, it has much more to do with the prep you do weeks and months ahead of time. We focus on how you can grow your audience and nurture them well in advance so when it comes time to purchase your offer, they already know, like and trust you.During our launch weeks we don't keep our cart open for more than three days. We explain why and share some tactics on how you can get your audience to make a decision, whether it be a yes or a no, in a timely manner. We also talk about what to do after your launch. It's important to not just rinse and repeat. We want you to take some time to celebrate the wins but also debrief; see what worked and what didn't, make pivots, and go out there and crush again the next time!If you want to learn more about how you can create an online course that will serve your ICA (ideal customer avatar) while also making money, be sure to click on the link below to save your seat for our free webinar that is happening next week. You want to build relationships where you not only cheer on your fellow solopreneurs but you're also not afraid to give honest feedback. In the end, it will be worth it to try to build your circle to exactly where you want it. A lot of us want to be happier, more supported entrepreneurs but it's up to you to go out and get it. We share how many people registered for this live webinar, how many actually attended, and the exact number of purchases we had. Also, in true PHP form, we shared the snafus that we learned during this launch. There should never be a time in your business where you feel like a launch went 100% perfectly. What is the state of Instagram? In this episode you are going to get a pep talk, strategies, and advice from me (Amy) & some of my Instagram influencer friends. I kick things off by addressing the elephant in the room; does it seem like story views and engagement are harder to come by these days? You might be surprised by the resounding answer I received from my online friends with a large following. The first point that I cover is assessment. How often are you assessing your content? Are you asking yourself what's working and what's not? I offer a simple strategy that we are using over at my other business, Expecting and Empowered, that is super simple, doesn't take long to create, and is having a major impact on our followers. You too can implement this strategy into your own Instagram content and after one brainstorm session, you could have up to 10 weeks worth of content!Reels - are they in or are they out? You may think of them as having to dance around and a big time sucker but in reality, they don't have to be. I share why they should still be a part of your growth strategy and I offer some really easy ideas that will help you feel authentic when creating reels. And finally, we cover the tale as old as time - consistency. Instagram is the long game. I share some strategies on how to make your life easier when it comes to staying consistent online and what to do when you have negative thoughts about Instagram. Having a consistent presence online takes a great amount of resilience. People that have it are going to be around for a while and your business will see the results. In this episode I, Kat, dive deeper into a topic that came up after we released episode 130: How to Sell Without Feeling Gross. After listening to that episode many of you were able to shift your selling mindset to thinking of sales as a service rather than a pain point. However, the thing that continues to come up for you is how to handle objections when they come up. And that is exactly what I cover in today's episode. I share what the most common objections are, including, “I can't afford this” or “it's not the right time.” I give you concrete ways of how to handle these types of conversations when they come up. I go over what an objection is and why people have them, what you must do before you even try to sell to anyone, and what powerful follow-up questions to ask your potential customers when objections do come up.We want you to be clear, understanding, and empathetic when you are selling. By sharing what is possible for your customer, you are allowing them to get to a place of desire and possibility. This episode is meant to inspire you as we kick off 2024. With a new year comes changes, new goals, new revenue and new profit streams for your company. Today, I dive into what unblocking your intuition can do for you as a female entrepreneur, especially if you've been feeling stuck or uninspired lately. There are four concepts that I walk you through; understanding intuition and how it ties to entrepreneurship, embracing creativity, overcoming doubt, and finally practical exercises for the intuitive entrepreneur. Overcoming doubt and building self confidence is a big one for this community. Trusting your intuition can help you in both of these areas and I explain how. Finally I walk you through some exercises that can be a catalyst in tapping into your intuition. Whether it be journaling, meditation, networking, or even a walk in nature, these tools are designed so that you can reflect back and hone in on the inner voice that's always been inside of you. Purposeful Podcast is our step-by-step guide to launching a purpose driven podcast that helps you grow your community and become a go-to leader in your niche. One thing we hear over and over again is that next year you'll start your podcast. But today we want to ask you why not now? From lived experiences, all three of us know that there is no such thing as an ideal time to start. Amy and Abby started the HERself podcast in the nooks and crannies of their days while Abby was working over 40 hours a week at her corporate job and Amy was busy managing a FTE .6 nursing job and had already started her other business; Expecting and Empowered. Between the two of them they had five kids but they had a mission that was important to both of them so they found the time to start their podcast.Kat started her first podcast; TTC Society, about her journey to becoming a mother. She found podcasting to be a way to turn her mess into an important message. This was a really hard time in her life and she felt called to do something about it. Years later, podcasting is now Kat's full time job and she never would've thought this would be her current reality. Our hope is that you don't wait. Make this your year. Your voice has something to bring to the world and we want you to feel more purpose. The doors for Purposeful Podcast are open from now until Friday, January 26th, 2024, at midnight. At that time the price for this course will increase so don't miss out on this incredible opportunity.Register for the Purposeful Podcast Course HERE! There are so many reasons we love podcasting. This week the three of us are diving deeper into the passion and purpose that can go into podcasting. What we know is that most of us go into podcasting to help our listeners. But what we want to focus on today is how meaningful podcasting is to the host as well.Kat shares how starting as a hobby podcaster took some of the pressure off and brought her so much joy. Abby explains that when she first started podcasting, she didn't need it to make money. What she was seeking was a sense of fullness in her life. Amy shares inside information on how the marketing trends for 2024 are all pointing to long form content and how podcasting is exactly that.Podcasting is also a means to express your creativity. It allows you to share your unique perspective with the world. It is a medium that gives you the freedom to create content in your own style. Podcasting also brings a huge sense of community. You can make a community through podcasting, serve that community, be in that community and be supported by it all at the same time.If you're ready to share your voice and make an impact all while making money doing it, be sure to sign up for our free webinar below. It will give you the building blocks to start your podcast and generate money right away. The webinar is on January 23rd, 2024, at 12:00p CST. This week I'm (Amy) talking to you about the power of podcasting and how you can harness it in your business or that business that you've been dreaming of. When people think about making money as a podcast they automatically think about getting sponsorships and advertisements. In this episode, I'm going to teach you how to monetize your podcast much faster with your own offers and your own business first. As you may or may not know, the first business that I started, Expecting and Empowered, has been up and running for seven years. I share how we didn't leverage podcasting until year six and the way that our podcast quickly became our second leading generator as far as gaining new customers goes. Not sure what being a sponsor of your own podcast looks like? I walk you through how we do it in all three of my businesses and share why offering a discount code in your sponsors will make customers act sooner. I also go into depth on why podcasts are such a fantastic way to serve your audience and get them to buy from you.If you think this is the time to make your podcast, I say why not? We are offering a free workshop called How to Launch a Profitable Podcast, hosted by myself and Abby on Tuesday, January 23rd at 12p CST, where we will teach you how you can monetize your podcast from the very start. By signing up for the workshop you will get an exclusive discount on our course, Purposeful Podcast, which we will be launching for the last time at the $297 price point. After this launch, the price will be going up. So don't miss your chance. We are outlining our year ahead in this episode but grab your pen and paper because throughout it we give you tons of tips on how to do the same for your business. If you're newer to entrepreneurship we know that doing this type of analysis can be overwhelming but the goal of this episode is to make it easier on you because we've learned over the years what has worked for us and we want to share that with you.Reflecting on the past year is where you'll want to begin. We prompt you to look at things like where you generated the most new leads and what caused the most dramatic growth for your business? Assessing your finances is key to understanding where you might be able to spend a little more next year. Remember to look at your competition too. See what they are doing that seems to be working well for them. Can you implement similar strategies? And it's not just about the numbers. How did you feel both in and out of your business this last year? How do you want this next year to feel? Where do you need to make some changes? What can you automate or delegate? Is it time to hire?Look back at the beginning of this year and don't forget to celebrate how far you have come. If reflecting or planning a year out is too much, break it down. What wins can you celebrate from the last 90 days? And what are the top three things you want to accomplish in the next 90 days. Oftentimes we overestimate what we can get done in a day and underestimate what we can accomplish in a year. We want this year to be your best year yet so break down those goals into bite size pieces and start 2024 off with a bang!Let's connect!Purposeful Week Planner: https://www.pursuingherpurpose.com/shopOur WEBSITE: https://www.pursuingherpurpose.comINSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/pursuingherpurpose/MEET AMY: http://instagram.com/ameskiefer/MEET KAT: https://www.instagram.com/kat.herro/ MEET ABBY: http://instagram.com/abbyrosegreen/This episode was produced and edited by @pivotballchange.
This episode is landing right between Christmas and New Year's for those who celebrate so we thought we'd throw it back to one of our favorite episodes with Amy Porterfield. All three of us have been huge fans of hers for years now! Her podcast, Online Marketing Made Easy, has accompanied us on many walks, lunches, and road trips. The value she brings to this industry is unmatched and we love how motivated we are after listening to her episodes.Amy shares how she got started as an entrepreneur, what it was like to transition from a more behind the scenes role to forward facing, and the strategies that she has used to increase her download numbers for her own podcast.Even someone as successful as Amy Porterfield struggles with confidence. We talk about how she has grown into her own confidence, how she was afraid of being seen due to negative self-image and the impact that having a mentor and friends in this industry can have on us. Amy even leaves you with a little motivation on how to keep moving your business forward!MEET Amy PorterfieldAmy Porterfield's Podcast: Online Marketing Made EasyTwo Weeks Notice by Amy PorterfieldLet's connect!Purposeful Week Planner: https://www.pursuingherpurpose.com/shopOur WEBSITE: https://www.pursuingherpurpose.comINSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/pursuingherpurpose/MEET AMY: http://instagram.com/ameskiefer/MEET KAT: https://www.instagram.com/kat.herro/ MEET ABBY: http://instagram.com/abbyrosegreen/
We are throwing it back to one of my favorite episodes I've ever recorded. It's with Amy as she interviews me, Abby, on the transition from working a full time corporate career to becoming a full time entrepreneur. And how I was able to do both simultaneously for about a year. You might be in that same position right now. This episode is all about how you can do the little, and the big, things correctly now so that you can make your dream a reality someday.Maybe you too feel the monotony of a career that pays your bills but doesn't fill you with passion. It's a “safe” choice, but you consistently wonder, “Is this all there is for me in life?” You are low on time but desperately want something else that can fill the void that has been on your mind for a while. Maybe it doesn't mean leaving your job tomorrow; maybe it means making an investment in yourself to finally take a step into a better tomorrow. If this is you, join today's conversation to help get you out of your way and on the path to a more fulfilling tomorrow. Make this be the year that you will take the steps YOU deserve in your career and life. Hi you guys! It's Amy with a solo episode this week. Today I am talking about something that is very near and dear to my heart; how to avoid burnout as an entrepreneur and balance your life in a way that feels good to you. We know that you didn't leave your job to have a worse schedule than you did before. In this episode I share tried and true tips that have worked for me over the years.First off, I recommend finding a formula that works for your week. I walk you through what my work week looks like and give specific examples of what I do each day. Next, I advise you to think about your year. What does your business year look like? When are your launches? I even share some examples of what our business year looks like inside Pursuing HER Purpose. Do you always feel like you have to have something new to offer or maybe you keep offering something that you don't want to offer any more? I've been there and it's not a good feeling. I challenge you to create a system that does allow you to feel good inside your business. Connection is also something that can fill your soul and help you not feel so lonely as a solopreneur. I remind you to see the people - network and make the connections. Finally, I want you to ask yourself what specifically doesn't feel good in your business right now? What is it that you really don't like? Now challenge yourself to create solutions. Don't buy into the idea that thing's can't change because they can. We want 2024 to be a year where you are able to find steadiness and happiness both inside and outside of your business.Sponsor: How to 2x Your Business with Podcasting WorkshopLet's connect!Purposeful Week Planner: https://www.pursuingherpurpose.com/shopOur WEBSITE: https://www.pursuingherpurpose.comINSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/pursuingherpurpose/MEET AMY: http://instagram.com/ameskiefer/MEET KAT: https://www.instagram.com/kat.herro/ MEET ABBY: http://instagram.com/abbyrosegreen/This episode was produced and edited by @pivotballchange.
We are back with another one of our favorite kinds of episodes - behind the scenes! Today we are sharing what the month of November looked like for us. We had multiple offers going out at the same time. We launched our course on courses; Purposeful Course, had a secret, private launch going at the same time, and had our very first evergreen course bringing us sales without having to do so much leg work. We're not going to lie, the runway for Purposeful Course felt a little squeezed this time around. We explain how we were coming straight off of our in-person event of our mastermind and that our sales for Purposeful Course did have a slower start than we expected. But, as we always do, we share how we pivoted and what we did to still feel like we brought in a good amount of sales for this launch. The word “evergreen” is a trending one in this industry. We have gone evergreen with one of our courses - Purposeful Podcast. Today we share what this looks like and how it doesn't mean we have completely washed our hands of the work that has to go into these sales. There are still aspects of evergreen sales that we are very much involved in.This year was such a great year for us in so many ways. We created incredible relationships with you - our students, held our first ever mastermind which we all loved and is here to stay, and the three of us grew closer both personally and professionally. Going into 2024 we have a much clearer vision for this business and we hope that by being a part of this community you're feeling the same way too.Sponsor: How to 2x Your Business with Podcasting WorkshopLet's connect!Purposeful Week Planner: https://www.pursuingherpurpose.com/shopOur WEBSITE: https://www.pursuingherpurpose.comINSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/pursuingherpurpose/MEET AMY: http://instagram.com/ameskiefer/MEET KAT: https://www.instagram.com/kat.herro/ MEET ABBY: http://instagram.com/abbyrosegreen/This episode was produced and edited by @pivotballchange.
It's Kat coming to you with a solo episode. If I am new to you I am one of the three co-founders of Pursuing HER Purpose and I also own a sales agency which has supported tons of online business owners to sell their offers. Today I am talking with you about all things sales. Especially debunking the belief that selling is gross. In this episode I share how to sell without feeling icky. Most sales goals are created with how we want to feel in the end but in order to achieve those goals you need to stop avoiding the middle. There is a way to actually feel good about selling and today I teach you how to start shifting your mindset. I talk about the importance of not overserving your audience. If you are giving away too much “how-to” and “tips and tricks” content, your audience may think they are getting all the information they need from you. Don't let your consumer fill up on bread crumbs.I want you to proudly cruise in your selling lane. I want you to feel good about selling your product. You know how vital it is and I can't wait for you to get out there and sell. Your life is about to change while simultaneously selling and serving at the same time.Sponsor: How to 2x Your Business with Podcasting WorkshopLet's connect!Purposeful Week Planner: https://www.pursuingherpurpose.com/shopOur WEBSITE: https://www.pursuingherpurpose.comINSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/pursuingherpurpose/MEET AMY: http://instagram.com/ameskiefer/MEET KAT: https://www.instagram.com/kat.herro/ MEET ABBY: http://instagram.com/abbyrosegreen/This episode was produced and edited by @pivotballchange.
We desire change but then we don't take the necessary steps forward to make it happen. Sound familiar? Today we are talking about making the right changes and working with your mind rather than against it. We want you to be able to expand your mind and think about the endless possibilities that are in front of you. The two traits of expansiveness and abundance go hand in hand in motherhood and entrepreneurship. I hope this episode gives you some steps and mantras you can use to shift your mindset if necessary. The four topics that I cover include overthinking, comparison, motherhood & the mind, and the mind & comfort connection. I dive deeper into each of these areas and explain how the mind might be holding you back. We know that the women in this community are driven. We know you want a purposeful push in order to have the impact you can on your little corner of the world. The mind is a powerful tool. Maybe you are feeling good right now. Let this episode help you keep the momentum flowing. Or perhaps you need a push? One commonality that we see among business owners is that they focus so much on building their audience before they have anything to sell. We want to stress that followership on social media platforms does not equal success. We both know of accounts that have hundreds of thousands of followers and yet they bring in little to no income. And we've seen the opposite be true. We know some entrepreneurs that have 1000 followers and make multiple six figures. Do you feel like you're on a hamster wheel that you can't get off of inside your business? We want you to take a step back and look at what you're spending your time on. If it's content creation and continually doing what you're comfortable with, that is never going to allow you the freedom that you are looking for inside your business. You have to be intentional about the time you dedicate to creating the offer that is going to allow you to jump off of that rotating wheel. If we got anything across to you today we hope it's the permission and excitement to launch something as you build your audience. Put away the excuse of needing a large following before you sell. Having a small audience is the perfect time to start from scratch, create a community, and build raving fans who are going to be so happy to talk about your course. If this episode has inspired you to start thinking about creating your own course be sure to register for our free webinar; Four Ways to Create Time Freedom Through Online Courses, below. We discuss how in this episode. We cover the idea of finite thinking versus having an abundant mindset and what that can do for your business. People want to learn from you and work with you but we get it, you can only be in so many places at once. What if instead you could create an online course that would allow others to still learn from you without you having to be physically present? We answer your questions on what stops people from creating an online course including if the technology part might seem too complicated. We also cover the reasons TO create an online course, the exact equipment you'll need to get started, and what it will cost you. We are excited to have Dr. Whitney Casares on the show today. This episode was featured on Abby and Amy's other podcast, the HERself podcast but we knew we just had to share it with this audience as well. Dr. Whitney is a maternal child health expert, a pediatrician, and a mom of two; one child has ADHD and the other has autism. She's also the author of the soon-to-be released book - Doing It All.Today we are talking about how we can make working motherhood better for ourselves. Dr. Whitney explains how when she was doing it all, in the end, she was the one who was suffering the most. She shares her hot take on the word balance and offers a suggestion on what we could be seeking instead. We cover everything from how to advocate for yourself and others in incremental ways at the workplace, what the term sandwich generation means, and what you can do if you fall into this category. Dr. Whitney shares how her and her husband split the household and parenting load & you'll find her honest, personal answer refreshing. In Dr. Whitney's upcoming book, Doing It All, she talks about the centered life. In this episode she walks us through this concept, gives her own personal examples, and shares what you can do when your top priorities conflict with one another. We appreciate Dr. Whitney's honest, realistic approach to working motherhood. We all want you to know that you deserve to feel good in this role and that even if you feel like you don't have five minutes to reflect on your own needs, doing so will have a foundational impact on the rest of your life.Sign Up for the Upcoming Pursuing HER Purpose Online Courses WorkshopLet's connect!Purposeful Week Planner: https://www.pursuingherpurpose.com/shopOur WEBSITE: https://www.pursuingherpurpose.comINSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/pursuingherpurpose/MEET AMY: http://instagram.com/ameskiefer/MEET KAT: https://www.instagram.com/kat.herro/ MEET ABBY: http://instagram.com/abbyrosegreen/This episode was produced and edited by @pivotballchange.
Have you ever wondered if an online course is right for your business? It's Kat here with a solo episode this week and I'm helping you answer that question. There is a lot of hype around online courses right now but there's also a lot of confusion.Today I run through the different archetypes that should start an online course. Perhaps you're a 9-5er who is looking to create something you are passionate about outside your everyday job. Or are you are an entrepreneur whose business has taken over your entire life and you're looking for more freedom and flexibility? Any of these sound like you?! If I've piqued your interest, tune into this episode to learn how to pick a course topic that is guaranteed to be profitable right off the bat. It's Amy and Abby here with you this week and we are giving you an update on our other business together, the HERself podcast. If you haven't listened to episode 71, go back and check that out because in there we talk about the first two years of HERself.Since the beginning of HERself, we have had an incredible community but there was an opportunity for us in the realm of monetization. We often hear from women in this community that they don't care about the money aspect of their business but we DO! We want to be fully transparent in our revenue goals and our strategies in how we plan to achieve them.In this episode we go into detail about the different revenue streams that we have including sponsors, Patreon, and affiliates. We give you exact numbers on how much each of these has brought in for us so far this year and give you a projection on what we estimate each of our owner profit take home shares will be.If you need a pep talk or a mindset reframe on how you're going to make more revenue as a podcast, let this episode be just that. We believe our listeners and customers deserve a peek behind the scenes on how we do business around here. Transparency is important to us so that's why we are sharing our successes and struggles with you. These lessons that we learn can be beneficial to other business owners, like you, as well. As you know, we recently launched our first mastermind. We are currently in the middle of delivering that experience to our students. In this episode we dive into how we decided on a launch date, why we capped the number of participants at the number we did, a happy accident that happened during our launch, and the revenue that the mastermind brought in for us.Creating the mastermind has kept us really, really busy. We were on several interview phone calls with applicants, we were heavily utilizing social media to create a buzz around it, and we've been planning all of the details for the in-person event coming up this month. Doing something like this for the first time is always going to be the most time consuming. But in the end it has been so fun and so joyful for all three of us! Right off the bat, I hit you with one word that I think makes all the difference between the small businesses that make it and those that don't. It's Amy here this week with a solo episode focused on what to do when you feel like throwing in the towel. There are three basic ideas that I guide you through that can help you push through the tough times. I cover how to depersonalize things, the importance of setting small goals & achieving them, and how to leverage the community that is right in front of you. Here at Pursuing HER Purpose, we are huge proponents of setting a ball down, not dropping it. If you are feeling like you don't have any fuel to add to your business fire right now, I want you to think about what you can set down? The last thing we want is for you to look back in five years and wonder where you'd be if you would've seen that dream of yours pan out. This episode is going to give you the gas you need to move your business forward and it gives you tangible examples of small things you can implement to get you a little further than you are today.FREE Podcast Workshop - www.growwithpodcasting.comLet's connect!Purposeful Week Planner: https://www.pursuingherpurpose.com/shopOur WEBSITE: https://www.pursuingherpurpose.comINSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/pursuingherpurpose/MEET AMY: http://instagram.com/ameskiefer/MEET KAT: https://www.instagram.com/kat.herro/ MEET ABBY: http://instagram.com/abbyrosegreen/This episode was produced and edited by @pivotballchange.
Do you have a partner that travels for work? We hear this scenario come up so often in this community that we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to do an entire episode around it. Kat and Abby both have traveling spouses so while Amy facilitates this interview, Kat and Abby field the questions and share their personal stories around what it's like to be a working mother while having a partner who is on the road from time to time.We go through how often Kat and Abby's partners are gone, what they do ahead of time to set the family up for success, and what the expectations are for both themselves and their partners when they are gone. When women in this community come to me, Abby, for business coaching, the same questions always come up. They are based on confidence, clarity, and time. Today I walk you through some prompts that will help you work through these hurdles the next time you are feeling stuck. When it comes to confidence, or the lack thereof, I ask you the question of what is important to you? And I encourage every decision that you make moving forward to be based on the top three things you value most. As far as clarity, I teach you about the D.A.D. method; delete, automate, and delegate. And for time, my biggest piece of advice is to keep the end goal in mind. It's Amy here coming to you with a solo episode this week. I am speaking to the woman who may think this isn't her time. Today I'm sharing my story to hopefully inspire you to understand that there is no perfect time.We know that most of us are going to have babies during our peak working years. I explain what it can look like if you do choose to pour yourself into your business when you have littles at home. Being pregnant is what sparked my idea to launch my very first business; Expecting and Empowered. I share why this was not the ideal time to dive into entrepreneurship and what time saving hacks I used to make it work anyway. It is so easy for me to sit here and say, “let it rip!” But today I wanted to give you some actual, tangible tips on how to make this happen. Remind yourself, if you are in a demanding season of parenthood, it's not going to last forever. Focus on what you can for now, ask yourself what you can put down, and think about where you truly want to invest your most precious resource; your time.If you enjoyed this episode, please share it on your Instagram tagging @pursuingherpurpose. You get to meet our extraordinary website designer, Meghan Lambert, today. We have been working together for over five years and have done at least four major projects together. Most recently we did a brand refresh of the HERself website, a new build of the Pursuing HER Purpose website and a huge refresh of the Expecting and Empowered website. We are such huge fans of Meghan's work!Meghan tells us whether or not she thinks everyone should have a website. She also explains which platform she recommends if you are just starting off and want to build your own website. Ready to take your DIY website to the next level and work with an expert? Meghan explains what she sees as the main issues most of the time and how she can help your website get to a better place. We do a rapid fire series of questions that our listeners are most curious about including what slows down the website loading speed, if people are still using video on their websites, and what Meghan recommends as the best way to collect payments on websites. One of the things we love most about Meghan is that she is a wife and mom who gets the constant struggle of finding a good work/life balance. She shares the story behind how she has evolved the process in which she works with her clients and how that has in turn allowed her to have more time to spend doing what she loves most with the people she loves most.Sponsor: Purposeful Podcast Course - Enter code ‘PODCAST50' at checkout for $50 offMEET MeghanMeghan's WebsiteLet's connect!Purposeful Week Planner: https://www.pursuingherpurpose.com/shopOur WEBSITE: https://www.pursuingherpurpose.comINSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/pursuingherpurpose/MEET AMY: http://instagram.com/ameskiefer/MEET KAT: https://www.instagram.com/kat.herro/ MEET ABBY: http://instagram.com/abbyrosegreen/This episode was produced and edited by @pivotballchange.
